People at reception desk were very friendly and helpful. Hotel is in excellent location, near beach, many cafes and restaurants, bus and trolley stops Breakfast is served on roof terrace that offers beautiful views of area,including the beach.

I arrived late/ whent strait to bed, got up early for airlplane, last minute shower turnes out to not happen do to ZERO HOT WATER in room... the front dest tried to find maintenance man but I had no time.. I therefore spent next 10 hours in airports and planes unshowered... not fun thank you

Overall, I would recommend this hotel. It was clean, water nice and hot, had a fridge, tv was new and had cable. We were on the street side but it wasn't too loud and there were nice curtains to block out the light. The room did smell of mold and it bothered my sinuses some so if highly allergic don't stay here. Breakfast on the roof gave a nice view […] and was pretty good (donuts, pasteries, waffles, boiled eggs, cereal, apples, juice,etc). Get there early though as things run out. Good restaurant next store and get a guest discount. Great location near many restaurants, Walgreens. The only very negative thing I will say is that the receptionists are clueless! I asked where I could find a souvenir sweatshirt and she said she didn't know (there are 3 within a few blocks of the hotel and all carry sweatshirts). We asked how far it is to walk to Old San Juan. She said 15-25 minutes. It's that BY BUS!!! Many restaurnats not open on New Years Day. We asked her about this and she said all were closed. My friend and I ignored her and we walked to the main area to find about 70% of them open. So, for advice on the area or anything, use your guidebook rather than asking. Hotel is ok for the price. Carpets in the halls and rooms seems to be clean but extremelly stained giving an unpleasant impression. Room was comfy and clean. The front and surroundings of the hotel are full of junkies harrasing people for money. Do not leave ANYTHING visible inside the car as I saw a junkie breaking the window of a car parked right […] in front of the hotel entrance door and stealing a backpack. Mehr

Helen the front desk clerk was fabulous. She handled multiple difficulties at once without getting flustered. Hotel had a moldy smell throughout.

Everythng is right for what I needed. My only complaint is about the shower. One can barely move the showerhead and it is a small shower area. The towels are paper thin and the light and fan makes quite a noise. They were unable to help on a Friday night at 7 pm to bring more towels to my room. The front desk attendant was the only person available […] until 11 pm. On the parking, it is very scarce but I always managed to grab one of the very few the hotel has. Other than that, the place is perfect for a stay without frills and amenities that I do not use anyway. Mehr

Staff was not super friendly, no hot water in the room (water was freezing) website offers free parking; however they only have four spaces in front of hotel and for spaces at a parking lot and if they are filled you are out of luck. Would not be staying here again.

It's a OK hotel for the money, but do not expect much help or information from any of their staff. Front Desk is the same as having no one there... took me about an hour to check in and most of the times there was no one there. The hotel itself is OK, but it has some AC leaks on the halls which make it look a bit nasty, and watch out or you might get […] wet with that leak! (it's right next to the elevator door). On the 7th floor, right next to our bedroom the cleaning staff had a "meeting room?" where they will start chating really loud and even play some reggaeton very early in the morning. The bedroom was clean with a comfortable bed but not a lot of hot water, which of course I had no one to complain at the front desk. Again, it's OK for the price we paid. The location is very good. The hotel could use a renovation, but I guess the rate wouldn't be the same, considering its excellent location. You could say it's an acceptable option to stay in Condado (if having old furniture is not your priority). The service and the breakfast were both really good.

The building was old. The air conditioner in the room was very loud and only had two temperatures you could set it on. The dated television set had a lot of American channels, but they cut out often. The carpet was dirty and had some stains that looked permanent. The continental breakfast on the rooftop was nice. The cleaning ladies were very nice. […] The staff at the front desk weren't rude, but they also weren't friendly. They were happy to book us tours and call us taxis because they got a cut from it. I would stay at the hotel again. The room was a good price compared to the surrounding hotels. I don't like to spend too much time in the hotel room anyway when I travel, so this worked out just fine for me. Mehr

All will tell is I was happy with my stay. It was essentially what we expected for the price. The hotel suited my needs and was a perfectly fine place to stay for my trip. A bit more updating and better maintenance would make this place a real gem. The service I will give it a four star. The breakfast a two star.

The location of this Hotel is perfect for the budget conscious. Close to everything, including local transportation, restaurants. The staff was superb! The down size - needs new carpet and repainting.

The staff was friendly, I like the location and when we had a problem with the toilet we were immediately switched to another room. I like the breakfast on the roof, although some variety on different days would be nicer. Overall we enjoyed our stay and we would certainly come back for another stay. This was my 4th time in San Juan, and the last hotel […] where I stayed was in comparison with this one not very nice, Quality Inn was a much better experience. Mehr

I loved it! The rooftop breakfast makes you feel lucky and fresh. The beach is a 5 min walk from the hotel. The people in and out of the hotel are so friendly. The bus stop to Old San Juan is a 4 min walk (on your way to the beach). The staff are ready to help out with anything. Some inconveniences that could be resolved: 1) the carpets in the room […] have a slight humid odor, so turn on the air conditioner and bathroom fan when you leave the room; 2) I made three phone calls from the room totaling 22 minutes and 4 min for dialing an incomplete number totaling my phone bill to 137usd, so don't use the phone; 3) the hardboiled eggs at breakfast are sometimes leftovers from the breakfast before, so eat the fruits, cereals and yogurt. This was our 25th Anniversary trip to San Juan. So wish we had booked a different hotel--man at front desk very rude, room rundown, mold throughout the building. some amenities stated were false. Basic isn't the word for this hotel-nothing special about it. Would pay more to stay at another place. The area it's in was also lacking.

The staff is nice. This hotel is quite old and it shows but is ok for a night sleep when passing by like we did. We were a group of 8 peoples. Included in the room price is a good continental breakfast wich is on the terrasse on top of the hotel. The view there is very nice.

This hotel has pluses and minuses that essentially equal out in the end. Our room looked nice enough, though the carpet was in pretty tough shape. The bed and pillows were surprisingly comfortable. There were a few relatively minor issues with the room- the clock radio did not work, the TV would occasionally lose the picture (it came back if you turned […] it off then back on), and the AC unit collected so much condensation that you got misted a bit if you stood under it. We did not notify anyone about these issues- they were not substantial enough for us to be too concerned about. The shower also had inconsistent hot water (I understand that this is not uncommon in PR) and drained slowly. Common areas (hallways, stairway) showed more age and wear and tear than the rooms, but weren't unacceptable. The rooftop patio for breakfast was nice. Not an amazing view, but a pleasant place to eat. The neighborhood looks old and somewhat worn, but we always felt safe thanks to the very strong and visible police presence. It was a 5 minute walk to the beach, which is hard to beat. All told we were happy with our stay. It was essentially what we expected for the price. The hotel suited our needs and was a perfectly fine place to stay for our trip. A bit more updating and better maintenance would make this place a real gem. Mehr

For the price, it's not bad. You are on Condado and can easily walk to all the business on Ashford way. It was my first time in PR and I went solo, so this room was perfect for me. It's located at a busy intersection, so you have to be used to city life or you might be taken a back. The free breakfast was lacking but... it was free, who cares?

The front desk was very friendly and helpful. Needed a cab for the airport early and the front desk had one waiting on time. Gave us good information about area and English was good. Really a nice place to stay.

We were disappointed with the neighborhood, the condition of the hotel needed work (replace carpeting, etc), and it did not even live up to the 2 stars it had. I think I would not have expected as much if the pictures did not fool me into it. We should of spent the money to be closer to the cruise docks & nicer hotels.
