Das Hotel ist eines der älteren in Seoul, aber mit Familie sehr günstig und sehr schön. Die Lage ist super. Mann kann alles zu Fuß erledigen oder eines der günstigen Taxis benutzen, auch die U-Bahn is nah. Das Personal spricht Englisch und ist sehr freundlic h. War ein toller Aufenthalt.

Condition of hotel was as expected and location was excellent. However service standard especially on checking in was a big letdown and the hotel left us without air-conditioning for the whole stay with only a small fan despite it being particularly warm and stuffy on certain nights. Would have been understandable if it was winter but this was late […] April and windows of the room were tiny. Mehr

The facilities are pretty old, I can't say I had 2 comfortable nights there. The power socket is also in a very hidden location which made me difficult to recharge my carmera battery. However, it's only ~50m away from Chungmuro metro station and in 10 mins walk to Myeongdong shopping area.

Staff at the hotel could have been more helpful. Perhaps it is the language barrier. What's weird is that the hotel gave me and my wife only ONE complimentary breakfast voucher and there's two of us. On top of that, no complimentary voucher on weekends. The location is the saving grace. The room is comfortable enough. Apparently, the Manchester United […] team stayed here in 2010. So lucky to have chosen this hotel. An excellent accommendation for first timer to Seoul. Good value for money spent.

Even the waste paper baskets proudly proclaim "1959" as the year the Astoria opened its doors, and it must have been a first-class hotel in those early post-war days. Today it's showing its age in some regards; somewhat dark and drab and a bit threadbare. Even so the Astoria is perfectly respectable and very affordable considering its proximity to the […] subway, a historic village, banks, shops and the cable car to the Seoul Tower. The front desk staff are extremely helpful (though not all speak English) and the restaurant in the hotel is decent. COMMUTING BY TRAIN In between Myeong-dong and Chungmuro Station. Nearer to Chungmuro, when exiting station, take EXIT 4. SHUTTLE SERVICE There is a on-request shuttle service provided by Astoria to Sejong Hotel if you wish to take Airport Limousine from there to Incheon/Gimpo Airport. Towards Incheon: Bus #6015 (which is what I took), bus fare 10,000 […] won. Comes every 20mins, ie. on the hour, 20th min and 40th min of every hour. HOUSEKEEPING Housekeeping was efficient. Personally do not like them to enter my room when it is vacant so when I was leaving in the morning, I usually just ask for fresh swop of towels on the spot. Immediately they responded with offer to empty my trash bins and gave us 2 new drinking bottled water. LOCAL CALLS There is a land line phone at right side reception counter where you could use to make any local phone calls for free. WIFI Internet is quite hopeless and is only available on lobby area. No one really hang around lobby that much so I guess most people just stay as if there is no wifi at all. Mehr

This is one of the best hotels that I've been to. You cannot expect 5-star condition from it, but it provides more than the price. A cosy little hotel; nice reception, clean room, good location (if your target is Myeongdong), comfortable restaurant. I will choose this hotel for future holiday trip to Seoul.

Helpful staff & convenient location.

The location of Hotel Astoria is fantastic. It's a 3-5 minute walk to the nearest subway (Myeong Dong Station) and also close to one of the most hustling and bustling shopping areas of Seoul- Myeong Dong. A 10-minute walk will bring you to a warm meal, shops to buy trinkets, high street shops, and underground malls. There is an abundance of cafes and […] dinner/lunch options in the area too. Be wary of Myeong Dong on the weekends though as it tends to be quite crowded. The hotel is clean, the front desk can all speak English and are quite helpful. One of my pet peeves was that only one key was available to each hotel room. That shouldn't matter if you are traveling with your hotel companion but if you separate at all, it's quite a nuisance to coordinate. Also, wifi was only available at the restaurant and hotel lobby but LAN connection available in the rooms. Again, only one cable is available so you and your companion can only go online one at a time. If you are travelling with a busy itinerary, the lack of hotel room wifi and only one key should not be a dealbreaker. Mehr

The hotel is situated near the major road junction between chungmuro and myeondong station. A short walk of 5mins will bring you to myeondong shopping district. The hotel staff are friendly and courteous in answering your queries and help you in anyway possible. Room service is always done up nicely. The room itself was cosy, however the television […] set could do with a little upgrade, instead of still relying on old CRT. Providing free wifi access to guest would be even better! We enjoyed our stay in Seoul very much. The hotel is pretty central and cosy. Downside it is not the newest, but we did not come for the hotel. The room was clean and neat and had funny gimmicks like heated toilet seat. Unfortunately only breakfast is included, but unless you want to have American Breakfast with fries !? try seven eleven or GoMart! […] We also discovered a small cafe near Domino's Pizza on the corner on the way to the main shopping district Myeong-dong which served great sandwiches and coffee (half the price of the hotel breakfast). Friendly and helpful staff. Easy to get to different places using public transportation. Namdeamun shopping area is about a mile west of the hotel. Several restaurants, movie theater, shopping around hotel. Affordable prices for a good-sized room.

This hotel is only 1-2 mins walk to exit 4 at Chungmuro subway station. Chungmuro is in the heart of the city and is close to everything. There is a police station, 1 Family Mart convenience store, 2 bkery/Cafes, 1 bank and 1 local Korean restaurant alongside. Perfect location for travellers! The hotel is quite old but overall clean. We have a double […] room and the window is very small and hardly provides any good view. The central heating system is good..warm and quiet. The hotel roon only provides shampoo and no body wash. Also there is no tea bags or instant coffees and the only things in the fridge are 2 bottles of water, which is supplied daily. There is no free WiFi service either in the room or the lobby. There are only 2 public computers at the lobby but mostly occupied during the day but free in the evening. Will stay again if I ever travel to Seoul next time but will consider bringing my own laptop. Mehr

Given the cost, I think this is a great place to stay. The location is very central and convenient. It is close to Chongmuro subway stop and walking distance from the Myeongdong shopping district in the other direction. There's a FamilyMart convenience store and Paris Cafe bakery nearby; and if you walk just a bit further past the Chongmuro subway […] stop, there's bunches more nearby food options. One hidden gem for eats is this Gimbop place just around the corner (to the right) just past the subway stop's entrance number 4. This is a great option for breakfast, especially given the rather odd policy of only giving one complementary breakfast per room, and serving it only on certain days (one downside). The bus stop nearby also has the number 2 bus which brings you up Namsan. (Don't take the number 5, or even bother finding the cable car. Bus 2 is cheaper and faster!) The rooms were okay: cosy, but a bit dated. The bed was very comfortable, and I liked that there was a fridge. Though there's no safe, the front desk has safety deposit boxes and will hold bulkier items like laptops upon request. (Not sure if this is a Korean thing or just this hotel.) The staff is extremely friendly, knows English, and will remember you by face. (We left our room key with them every day before going out and they'd always recognize us when we came back.) Mehr

Very close to subway station, very convenient. Nice hotel staff! Highly recommended! If you would only like to have a very comfortable place to stay after whole day shopping, Astoria hotel will be the one!

Stayed 2 nights in a twin bed room with my family (2 kids under 12). Spacious, clean and equipped with the necessities for winter travel. There's even heated toilet seats! Location is good in that it is close to the Chungmuro subway station, with Myeongdong a 15 mins walk away. There's nearby attractions within 100m of Korea House and the Namsangol […] Hanok Village. The N Tower and Namsan Park is about 1.5km away. Dont worry about breakfast as there's a great Paris Baquette Cafe down the road, and a Family Mart to get your meals. Hotel is in good location, close to shopping area and subway station. Easy to get around, simply love it! Will definitely stay at Astoria again if I go back to Seoul!

We took the subway to the hotel from the airport & it was a little hard as we had to change stations a few times but otherwise the location was pretty near to myeongdong.. We just need to walk about 10mins to reach Myeongdong. Staffs were always ready to help & very warm. Rooms were small but very comfortable. Nothing to complain about this hotel. Staff are extremely helpful and spoke english pretty well. the location of the hotel was great. we saved a lot of transportation fee cuz we can walk to many places...like myeongdong and namdaemun market. there are many convenience stores and coffee shops around. Nice location!Situated between Myeongdong n Dongdaemun!! Next to a police station n 24hr conveniene store on the main road. Near to Korean Folk village n Bus stop to take No 2 or 5 bus up to Mt Namsan Seoul Tower! Room not as small as Japan....no toothbrushes provided....everything else is okay!! Hassle free Check in n checkout!

Stayed in Astoria Hotel for 4 nights. The hotel is close to the subway station, Exit 4 of Chungmuro Station. It was also walking distance to Myeongdong shopping market but didn't get to see it until our last day.

This hotel is old but clean and well kept. Room is a little small but i dont see problem.There are two convenient stores just few steps away where you can get milk,juice, water, ect...Chungmuro subway station is just 2-3 mins walk. You can get to Gyeongbobgung palace, Dongdaemun, Lotte world, COEX mall, to and from airport very easily by the subway […] system. Myongdong and Namdaemun are 10-15 mins walk. Use the airport bus to downtown and get off at Sejong hotel for 10,000 Won and walk 1 1/2 block to Astoria. The Airport Railroad is cheaper and faster but you have to transfer to line 4 at Seoul station and it take 15 mins to walk to subway line 4 with lots of up/down and turns and it can be really crowded. It was hell for me because i have 2 big luggages. When you get off Chungmuro remember to exit # 4 and go straight (other exit will take you to different direction). Hotel is on your left..Staff is really nice and polite. Free breakfast is for only one person per room and only from Sat thru Mon or you pay 12,000 Won (12USD) other days/second person. Mehr

Very close to "Ming Don" night market/shopping area, and also very close to very many restaurants and it's like one minute away from the train station. The hotel is a bit old, but overall, it's a nice hotel just for sleeping and resting. For sure I will recommend this hotel!

This hotel is conveniently located close to the subway and close to the Myeongdong shopping area.

The location is great. The hotel is clean. The staff are friendly. I got a good price, so I'm satisfied. But the furnishings in the room are dated and beige; a rather charmless room, overall. That's fine if you're not spending any time there. If you are spending time in the room, you should probably upgrade to something else.

During my 6 nights stay in Seoul, I stayed in this hotel and Hill House Hotel. This hotel is actually located along a main road, I feel that this point is highly important, as you will probably hang out late at Seoul and the last thing you want to do is to walk back alone in the night to find yourself along a dark alley. The breakfast system is weird […] tho, only one person per room and only applicable on saturday and sunday. I personally didn't tried any of their breakfast even tho I was give the option to. There are free WiFi at the outside entrance of the hotel but weak signal while inside the lobby, which is kinda weird and stupid. I had to stand outside the entrance all the time to access the internet. They had 2 computers on the lobby tho, but I didnt use them. The location of the hotel is located between walkable distance (600-800m) Myeongdong and Chungmoro, with Myeongdong as a town area of Seoul. Value for money, but slightly lesser than Hill House Hotel, but this hotel would be more suitable for people who would not like to find themselves in a dark alley. Mehr

I found the hotel to be comfortable, within proximity of two MRTstations and easy to get to from Incheon Airport. The staff were friendly and obliging. My room was clean, reasonably well -appointed and comfortable. The weather in July is not the best time of year to be in Seoul - so the lack of great views from the room was not an issue.

The location is good. Near the shopping areas. But need to improve communication skills of hotel's receptionist.

The location of the. hotel is very close to the subway (Chungmuro station) and 5-minute walk to Myeongdong. The room is very clean. And there are 2 free of bottles of water everyday. The staffs are very nice and helpful. They are also multilingual. You can take buses (number 6001 or 6015) from Incheon Airport, get off at Sejong Hotel, and walk less […] than 5 minutes to Astoria Hotel. An excellent budget hotel with a superb location. Just 5 minutes walk from Myeongdong area. A real good buy if you are looking for decent quality at an affordable price.

It was my first time traveling to Seoul with friends and we opted to stay at Astoria Hotel. The subway stations near the hotel was Chungmuro and Myeongdong. There are lots of restaurants, bakeries and family marts beside the hotel so food was not a problem. Its a 10 min walk though from Sejong Hotel when you take an airport bus, so be sure to use luggage […] with wheels. The room was clean and neat. The bathroom however had a low ceiling so I would not suggest it for very tall people. Our bathroom had a lot of drainage noises though, that was my only complain for the room. Other than that, Astoria Hotel is a good place to stay near Myeongdong Area given its rate. The staffs are friendly and approachable. Mehr

Smell no good at room 712, when turn on Aircond. Maybe Aircond filter dirty? Need Hotel maintenance. So I sleep without Aircond to avoid bad smell, fortunately the whether is not hot. Others is OK, good location.

It is located within walking distance to Myeong Dong, which is the shopping market and able to link to Lotte which is a huge plus location wise but have to walk some distance, tho it is still walkable. There also also the Chungmuro train station nearby, which is the interchange between line 3 and 4 which makes it more convenient as we have access to […] more train lines. There are small eateries and cafes nearby, which is great! Really great location. Very basic hotel but if you will be in the hotel just to sleep and you will be out sightseeing for most part of the day, then this hotel will be perfect for you. Close to Line 3 and 4 of the subway which makes it easy to go to all tourist sites. I stayed at Astoria Hotel for 3days and 2 nights with a friend. It is conveniently located near Myeongdong Street, the bus stop, and Chungmuro Subway Station. We weren't expecting much, since we were on budget travel, but the agent at the reception was really nice, she helped us with our itinerary for the day, even printing out map details for us. The […] staff was really helpful. The room we got was great, the sheets were clean, the bathroom was also clean. the only problem we encountered was the heater setting/ac of the room, since they don't have instructions on how to operate it, we have to ask for assistance at the front desk. But all in all, i would recommend this hotel to budget travelers like us. Mehr

Astoria is situated a great location where is near Myeong Dong, a famous shopping and food complex area. The hotel is also just 2 mins walk far from Chungmuro subway station. It is accessable to other places in Seoul. I saw the hotel was partly renovated but not the floor corridor, the rooms' main door and the interior part of the room.
