"Nice enough for a quick break"
Nice enough for a quick break, in it's day it was probably wow, but now it could do with an update, it was all a bit faded shame as could be excellent again quite easily. Rooms were a good size and bed was comfy, we had good view over golf course. The facilities were good for golfers, families and couples - the high ropes, golf, spa and gym etc looked […] great - I would say overall grounds of the hotel excellent inside of hotel faded, eg leather effect breakfast tables worn out on corners, seals gone on shower etc. On a positive note: staff were excellent and certainly offered service with a smile. 3-4* hotel 5* staff Mehr
"Lovely first anniversary break."
Had a really lovely time, we actually live very close to the Celtic manor but due to the fact that I was 38 weeks pregnant we didn't want to go to far from home, but we couldn't have had a nicer time if we had gone further from home.
We had fabulous day and night.Excellent!

My Husband and I have just spent two nights at the hotel. We were surprised at how family friendly it is and will definitely return with our children. The staff and facilities are first class . We would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Fantastic hotel. Spa was lovely. Beds very comfortable. Staff very good, because all the restaurants in the hotel were booked, they drove us to the nearby town to eat. Deserving of the 5 stars
"an excellent hotel but you need to book activities"
This was the second time we stayed at this hotel and on both occasions we were very happy with the hotel in general. The staff are very polite and obliging and everything is as you would expect in a 5 star hotel. I would however strongly recommend that if you wish to eat at The Crown - you need to book at least a week before. The spa facilities are […] fantastic but despite booking and confirming our treatments the spa made and error. this also happened on the first occasion as well. I woudl not let this put you off - I would simply recommend that you confirm and confirm again that the treatments you want at the spa are correctly timetabled and that you again book well in advance. We will be returning to this hotel in the future but next time I owuld insist that the spa email me confirmation of the times and treatments we have booked. Mehr

Nice hotel. Pretty standard rooms. Not sure the rooms could be classified as 5 star, but certainly a good 4 star. The staff, however, were 5-star. Friendly and with excellent customer service skills. Visited the Michelin starred restaurant on-site. Lovely meal. The portions were incredibly small, but the richness of the food made us feel surprisingly […] full afterwards. Nice spa, but the pool is too small for such a large resort. The pool was full of kids (it was in the school holidays). There are restrictions on childrens swimming times, but this means you have to work to a timetable for adult swimming. We're not golfers, but needless to say it appears to have excellent facilities. Cardiff is not too far away. Made use of the park and ride. Great day out. Would definately go back. to Celtic Manor. Mehr

Just returned from a fabulous weekend at the Celtic-Manor. Everything and everybody (staff) were great. All staff were extremely informative and could not do enough for you. Breakfast was fantastic and the choice of food was immense. On the Saturday evening we ate at the Rafters which is in the 2010 clubhouse. The food and service again was fantastic!!!! "Celtic Manor - None Golfing"
Been trying to get into the Celtic Manor Hotel, just oustide Newport, for quite some time. Got a weekend bargain room (Double Standard) Sat/Sun night over the bank holiday. Arrived to find it busy due to Wedding that evening, booked in and straight to the room. Spacious room with seating area, nice Philips LCD TV and marble bathroom/shower. 10th Floor […] room overlooking the M4, Newport and the bay. No noise, had window and curtainsopen all night. Only gripe on the room was only one packet of bisuits a day, little bit stingy. Had to queue both mornings for breakfast, but well worth it, requested a quiet spot (still busy) and got one. Very good spread. Wonderful choice, attentive staff. Did not eat in any restaurants, but had room service one evening, arrived on time and very good food, basically what you get in the restaurant, in your room. will return, would recommend. Mehr
"Beautiful location basic rooms"
It was a nice hotel and location with beautiful views across the golf course. I thought the rooms were quite basic for the price and although there were many restaurants there was little food option for vegetarians.
"Will definitely return"
Stayed for 2 nights on a B & B rate, but ate in the hotel on both nights. Cannot fault a thing - most enjoyable weekend. Every single member of staff went out of their way to be helpful and pleasant.
"Very pleasant stay but some weaknesses"
Stayed 2 nights in King room with balcony on good internet deal. Room very spacious with superb bed however old fashioned TV in large piece of furniture which restricted view of screen. Also air conditioning not capable of cooling room. Hotel facilities are really good and staff generally most helpful and friendly. Had meals in the Crown (fine dining) […] which was very good and worth the money if somewhat lacking in atmosphere and in the Patio (French bistro style) which had good ambience and reasonable food at fair prices. Had sandwiches for lunch in the main bar which were quite poor quality for the prices (£7-10). Apart from these small points the other facilities such as the gym,pool and particularly the golf courses were excellent and we would certainly go again. Mehr

Have stayed several times before. Staff and service is exellent. Sundays there are great with harpist at breakfast time.
