Hotel Berkeley - Dubrovnik

Wir haben eine intressante Woche in Dubrovnik verbracht. Das Hotel Berkeley ist eine gute Ausgangposition ( Bushaltestelle dierekt vor der Tür ) für sämtliche Erkundungen. Der Hafen Cruz befindet sich in Sichtweite. Wir haben uns im Hotel sehr wohl gefühlt.

Das Zimmer mit twin-bed lag nicht zur Straße, so dass es ruhig war. Das Personal war freundlich, das Frühstück gut. Da die Busstation nur maximal 5 Minuten vom Hotel entfernt ist, war die Altstadt von Dubrovnik bequem und relativ schnell zu erreichen.

Die Lage des Hotels ist, durch die gute öffentliche Buslinienanbindung zur Altstadt und den übrigen Sehenswürdigkeiten für Besichtigungtourismus bestens geeignet. Freundlicher Empfang und nettes Service, umfangreiches (auf Wunsch englisches) Frühstück. Preis-Leistungsverhältnis sehr gut. Insgesamt sehr gute 3-Stern Ausstattung.

Great staff, outstanding breakfast, very nice and clean hotel about a 30 minute walk from old town or very easy bus access. Try and get a room with a view of the Gruz Harbor.

This hotel is recommended highly by us. The staff couldn't have been more helpful (thanks Mirjana, Marja and Eva). This hotel was located in the port area with easy access to restaurants, shops and the bus station. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The room was clean and comfortable with everything we needed for our stay. We would definately stay there again and would recommend it to our friends.

Comfortable place. Easy access to old town via local bus. The photos make it look better than it is. Good breakfast. Staff friendly. Could have had the next door hotel for $40 less than Berkley. That hotel was better than it appeared on the advertising. The joy of travel.

This is a very well run small hotel with excellent personal service from its staff. Very convenient for local buses to other parts of Dubrovnik, including the old city. As a solo traveller I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Hotel Berkeley.

Hotel is near lots of good restaurants and getting around the Dubrovnik area simple using the local bus service and for further afield the bus terminal is short walk away. The hotel was excellent for what we needed. It is a comfortable, extremely clean, affordable hotel that I highly recommend. It is located near the Port and the Old City is only a short bus ride and the the buses run frequently and are inexpensive. Overall the Hotel Berkeley was a great hotel and one that we definitly stay at again.

Don't stay anywhere else but the Berkley if you are staying in Dubrovnik. The friendliest staff and a beautiful hotel with even better coffee and breakfast :) It is right beside everything so if you are travelling elsewhere in Croatia after or before your stay in Dubrovnik you should stay here. Couldn't fault the place.

Hotel is a little out of main dubrovnic but it isn't problem to catch the bus . Individually cooked breakfasts very tasty. Hotel a little plain but perfectly functional. There was a small balcony with a small view of water that we quite enjoyed.

I cannot tell you enough how amazing my experience with this hotel was. First, this is a family run hotel and they get to know their customers very well. All of the family members work so hard to make sure everyone staying at the hotel has an enjoyable stay in Dubrovnik. Dubrovnik is a wonderful city and one of my favorite places ever. Second, the hotel […] offers free breakfast included in the room rate. The breakfast has fresh meats, cheeses, yogurt, cereal, tea, coffee and eggs made to order. Third, you can charge excursions (trips to the islands, Bosnia, etc.) to your room and the tour company picks you up at the hotel. The staff is more than willing to give you advice on what trips to take and what to bring on the trips. Fourth, the hotel is located right near the port of Dubrovnik. It is an excellent location. To get to the Old Town all you need to do is take a quick bus ride or you could walk. Walking might be too much for some as it is very hot there. You can also have the hotel hire a cab which will arrive quickly and is not too expensive. Fifth, the rooms are perfectly kept, modern and spacious. I had no issues with the maid service and they are extremely efficient. Finally, I wanted to spend time writing this review because of how happy I was that I decided to stay at this hotel. Even though it is not a resort, you really get so many great things for such a great rate. The people who run the hotel are nice and true professionals. I will be back as soon as I can return. Mehr

Well placed, comfortable hotel. Amenities excellent-cool rooms with all facilities(including excellent air conditioning-Dubrovnik was very hot!), lovely pool with towels provided and a superb breakfast cooked to order. Most of all really friendly, genuine staff, couldn't do enough to help. We would definitely stay at the Berkeley again.

ruined our stay here. The woman at the desk and her supervisor were most unpleasant to us when we asked for a simple change -- two single duvets on our bed instead a one king-size. This is a great hotel with decent sized rooms, a tasty breakfast included, and friendly helpful staff. We had a double room with a balcony and free parking and wi-fi. The hotel is a little bit out of the town but there's a bus stop two minutes down the road with frequent buses which take you right to the city gates. When touring Croatia, don't forget to visit the old city of Dubrovink. It's definitely worth the extra kilometers/miles (and maybe more important, the additional hours of travelling, as the highway up to Dubrovnik isn't ready; at least not in 2012/2013)! Our family stayed at an apartment, which was quite spacious, sufficiently equipped and as bonus […] had a large balcony (with a.o. 2 deck chairs) with view over the harbour with its beautiful sunset. Staff at the reception desk as well as breakfast room had a very personal approach and had good suggestions for sightseeing. Talking about breakfast, you can order your choice of eggs freshly baked with two supplements (complementary)! After a day of strolling in warm Dubrovnik, it's good relaxing at the hotel's rooftop pool with its deck chairs. Should you go there by car, a parking garage is available, but hotel isn't very well visible from the road when driving down hill (right hand side). Although maybe not within easy walking distance from the old city (approx. 50 min; up/down hills at 30 C/88 F temperatures...); a bus ride takes you there in less than 10 min! Bus tickets can be bought at the reception desk. For those visiting Dubrovnik by car: save yourselves the trouble of visiting the old town by car and just take the bus! Should we ever revisit Dubvrovnik, we most certainly will stay at Hotel Berkely again! Mehr

Perfect location if you are travelling to Dubrovnik by ferry as it is just a 10 minute walk uphill from the port. Clean, comfortable and good value compared to Hotels in the old town, which was a short bus/taxi ride away. The taxi fare between four of us was only slightly more than the bus. The restaurant Dubrovka just outside the Pile Gate was excellent […] and walking around the city walls a must, although not in the midday heat. If travelling by the Jadrolinka car ferry, I recommend using the restaurant on board which had white-table cloth service at reasonable prices, had plenty of seating in cool air-conditioning. Much better than competing for the limited number of seats with back-packers on the crowded decks! Mehr

This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel. it is a little way from the old town but easy to walk to. We like it that way as it is much quieter. Hotel was very good for a 3*. Location was at least 25 mins walk to the old town and only a 6-8 min bus ride away costing 12 kuna each way, can be expensive when in a group. Also it is not directly by the harbour but few minutes away so the sea veiw rooms were not as great you would expect. But the cleaniness is excellent and also the double beds are […] very comfortable. However a third bed in a triple room is very small and not so comfortable. Breakfast was good but not enough variety for vegetarians who dont eat eggs, no other hot food other than eggs with mushrooms/tomatoes and toast. Our room was very quiet and clean. Easy bus ride into town. and it is very convenient to the main bus station. Breakfasts were very good. We had a brilliant week. The staff were helpful, friendly and highly organised. Although breakfast is the only meal provided, the hotel gave discount vouchers for local restaurants and their recommendations were fantastic. A little bit more budget than boutique but this is a lovely small super clean hotel with comfortable beds, great showers and freshly cooked breakfasts. Fantastic staff, very friendly and helpful. Convenient for the frequent buses into the old city but set back from the harbour so much quieter. A good choice for families and couples.

As is the way with booking a hotel somewhere for the first time, we were unsure what we would find despite carefully reading previous guest reviews. We need not have worried. This hotel exceeded our expectations in every way. Our room was spacious, immaculate, comfortable and had all the amenities we could have wished for. The rest of the hotel also […] did not disappoint, including a good breakfast that set us up for the day, but the most outstanding feature of all for us was the friendliness of the staff who really went out of their way to help and advise us about where to visit, when and which buses to catch, good restaurants to eat in etc. The hotel is not in Dubrovnik centre which for us was a bonus but is close enough to access all the sights easily and quickly. Only a short walk down the hill is the beautiful harbour area (where you can hop on a boat to the islands), the bus station, plus restaurants, shops etc. There is also a bus stop outside the hotel - another bonus. We cannot recommend this hotel highly enough and will certainly be returning to beautiful Croatia and the Hotel Berkely which definitely deserves a higher star rating than it currently has. Mehr

In a quiet part of the city, Right next to the marina but 30-40 minute walk to the old town centre, which didnt bother us as we found resturants, sights, shops and supermarkets that we would have otherwise missed. Very good family run hotel at reasonable rates for Dubrovnik. The hotel staff were extremely helpful and friendly and offered excellent advice as to where to eat and visit. The room was clean and the breakfast good. Air conditioning works well although it takes a short while to start up, as does the TV. Staff were very friendly and helpful and advised about buses, restaurants etc. There is not much in the immediate vicinity of the hotel except a walk round the harbour but the old town is only 10 minutes by bus or half […] an hour walk (steep roads en route). The Gatto restaurant is quite near and very good value, especially with a 10% discount voucher from the hotel. Unfortunately it is on a road which can be busy opposite the bus station. It is worth considering the Dobrovnic Card which includes entry to the walls and 10 bus tickets. The Berkeley is just as advertised . It is not in the Old Town but only a few minutes walk away from the harbour. A short bus journey to the Old Town. Hotel rooms were clean and comfortable, the hotel staff were friendly, polite and very helpful. Pool clean and not crowded. Breakfast good for this size of hotel. Ideal location for buses, boats and eateries. […] Room did not have a sea view but that wasn't necessary as the quayside is only minutes away.
