Riu Palace Pacifico All Inclusive - Nuevo Vallarta

This was our second experience staying at a RIU resort, the first was in Cancun. Nothing but fabulous is how I would express my feelings about our stay at the RIU Palace Pacifico. My husband and I just returned from the Riu Palace in Puerto Vallarta. Loved, loved, loved everything. Staff, food, entertainment, beaches, room etc.. We have been to Mexico many times (maybe 10). This place was by far the best resort. WE WILL BE BACK

Four of us vacation about 4-5 times a year for the last 15 years. This hotel was absolutely the most beautiful one in which we have ever stayed. It truly is a Renaissance "Palace." !! We were awed over and over by the beautiful appointments everywhere, the quality of the food, the top-shelf drinks, the great entertainment (a Michael Jackson clone?) […] Also, the staff, but particularly, Margarite at the front desk was really wonderful to us! I've been to many places in the world and have never stayed at a cleaner hotel. It was spotless. Everything shined. The service could not have been better. Everyone from the pool staff to the waiters and waitresses anticipated our every need before we needed to ask for anything. The whole experience was wonderful. This was our 3rd time at the Palace and we will probably return again next year. We like the somewhat quiet atmosphere at the Palace, but also the opportunity to visit the Riu Jalisco and Vallarta to meet our "wild side" needs. Tip - book your specialty restaurant dinners 2 or 3 nights in advance; the folks who complain about not getting in are trying […] to get in that evening. No worries, the buffet won't disappoint if you don't have a reservation, their breakfast is awesome. We usually go to PVR in November and have never seen a cloud, but after 3 cloudy days last week, we have decided to return to our November visits. We still think that things are safe there, I ran outside the complex every morning and we walked to Bucerias for shopping and the Riu Vallarta at night for dancing and never saw anything that appeared dangerous. I went in our honeymoon with my wife and it was the best hotel I had ever stayed in. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious with many different options to choose from. Our fridge was restocked everyday with beer, ater, and pop. Every night there was entertainment with different themes. I can't wait to come back.

The food, drinks & service were all great. The hotel was very clean and we got A LOT for our money! The only negative for us was the fact that there are ash trays everywhere and smoking was allowed pretty much everywhere, including in the swimming pool. That was annoying, but everything else was fantastic! My wife and I had a thoroughly relaxing experience. The staff was friendly and accommodating (they moved us from the 2nd floor to the 7th floor without hesitation which gave us a great view of the beach and bay). We enjoyed the buffet and ate most of our meals there - decent but not great food. The pool was nice with a couple of jetted seating areas, […] a raised infinity pool, pool bar and in pool loungers. However, it would have been even better had they switched the location of the pool bar and the infinity pool - that would have provided an awesome view of the bay from the infinity pool. There's not much near the resort but a Mega store is nearby (kind of like a Target store). That was ok with us since we just wanted to have a nice relaxing vacation, enjoying the 85 degree weather. The service was outstanding, especially the servers at pool and waitstaff at the buffet. This is the first time we have stayed at an all inclusive and we loved every minute. The beds are a little hard but everything else was perfect.

This was our first visit to all-inclusive. The staff was amazing. Always available to answer questions and ready to help! Everyone speaks English and is very helpful. Beach is amazing! Pool is Great! Food was good although same every day. There is allot of it but mostly the same…it would be nice to have more variety … There are 4 restaurants but they […] get booked very quickly. We got into 2 out of 4. Few negatives: cups in the room and restaurant are not very clean. You can see stains on mostly everything…they need better dishwasher machine and soap…. Also, there is not much to do in the evening. There are daily shows but they start at 10 PM. Traveles with wife and our teenager daughter; this has been our second stay at Riu Palace and they have improved couple things since last year: You can now use the Spa installations even if not having a massage, reservations for the specialty restaurants can be made all day long, and, food quality at the buffet seems to have improved. greatest asset […] of this resort is definitely their staff, all the way from reception to pool service. I like to mention taht Adrian and Alexander at the pool bar are awesome in their customer service, and I'm not referring to loaded drinks, they are just fabulous with their people skills and really make you feel at home. The room is well equiped, but when you ask for a double beds room take into consideration they are put side by side, no space in between, which is a bit odd, hence the 4 rating for the room. All in all you can not go wrong with Riu Palace, all day long amenities, great customer service, good food, more drinks than you could dream off and a perfect place in paradise. The whole stay was pretty good, staff was great. Just a buffet food got boring after couple of days. What I missed was night club, where could be involved young people, had to take cab to the city(50$) one way. Taxi was super expensive, more then in states. Great swimming pool! I have never seen anyone clean a hotel as much as they cleaned here. My room was cleaned and organized 2-3 times a day. This place is immaculate! The staff is warm and friendly. During our stay, they anticipated what we wanted from one second to the next and brought it to us before we even had the opportunity to ask, as if reading our minds. "Amazing" […] doesn't even begin to describe the service. It's unbeatable. The grounds are gorgeous. There's always something fun happening. It's impossible to get bored even if you stay a week and never leave the resort. I do have some complaints: their wine was disgusting. DISGUSTING. It's watered down to the point that there's just enough wine in the mix to tint your glass the appropriate color. EEWWW. Also, the Guacamole specialty restaurant was nasty. My food was stale--obviously left over from lunch's buffet and passed off as freshly prepared and the veggies were straight from a can. I expected a lot more. If you can't prepare Mexican food in Mexico, you've got a huge problem. No complaints about the breakfast and lunch buffets in the main restaurant. The food in Krystal #another specialty restaurant# knocked my socks off! Delicious, fresh, and well-prepared--again with unbeatable service that made the whole experience that much more special. All in all, the place is wonderful and it's so romantic and relaxing walking the beach or lounging by the pool. I'll stay at this hotel again. Mehr

Great Service By ALL Staff... Very Attentive. Room was cleaned twice a day when needed. Ask for Jorge (Manager) at the Pool Bar during Day and Theatre room in evening. He gives Exceptional Service. We celebrated my wifes B-Day and he surprised us with a BDay Cake and Champagne in the room :)

The last year we had stayed at the Riu Pal in Cabo and my review is heavily influenced by a comparison between the two (PV and Cabo) - cabo wins hands down. We were 5 families with children ranging 2-11 years. The buffets have a wide spread - but cabo was wider. We didn't get a chance to experience the sit-down dinner restaurants. At PV: The beach is a lot more swimmer friendly but the pool is relatively small for a resort of this size. We found the pool side chairs would be all occupied by 10 am. Our most disappointing part of this resort was the kids club. It was tiny, small and was run by an uninspired gal called Daniella. There were almost no planned fun activities for young children and our kids didn't want to hang out there - at all. At Cabo: The main bar was gorgeous - open with a beautiful huge ocean facing verandah. The food - more variety. RiuLand - face painting, kite making, swimming, crafts, games - it was a lot of fun for our kids and they wanted to go visit every day. Two large and separated swimming pools. Closer to the city. We stayed for 7 nights, Food was repetitive and we were tired of it at the end of 3rd day. Riu Land - suppose to be open from 9AM to 5PM, was never open and even if it was open we had to monitor our kids if they were planning to swim in the kiddy pool inside Riu Land. Girl, working at Riu land was not at all connected with kids and was just doing her […] job for the seck of doing it. Pool is pretty small, and was crowded. Rooms are clean and well maintained, no complains there. Our experience in Riu Place, Cabo was exactly opposite, Staff was awesome, food was good, Riu Land (miss Nora ) was just too good. The staff and servers were friendly and very prompt. The Mexican and Asian restaurants were good. The breafast and lunch buffet were very good. The dinner buffet was just ok. We had a great time. The only think we found strange was the front desk could not give change for American money. We had to get change from bartenders. This is our second time staying at a RIU (last year at Cancun) and it was a very pleasurable experience. As always, the entire resort is kept spotless, from the room, lobby, restaurants, pool, and beach. The beach in this area (Nueva Vallarta) was one of the main reasons we choose the RIU Palace Pacifico, as it provides plenty of room for long walks […] in either direction, smooth, sandy, and no rocky areas. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and it doesn't seem to matter how much (or if) you tip, they still bend over backwards to help. We took part in a wide variety of activites, so we never came to the restaurants at the same time each day, but I could see that those that did were able to create a rapport with certain members of the staff, and that would probably be a plus. The pool is large enough so that if you don't want to take part in the many activities the entertainment staff is always putting on, you can still have plenty of room. Food is plentyful, and the overall quality is good. We ate at the steakhouse twice, the second time the lobster tails were charred and not as good as the first, but still a good experience. Mehr

We enjoyed our honeymoon at the Riu Palace so much, we came back this year for our anniversary and brought two friends. The hotel is beautiful and immaculately maintained. Got upgraded to full ocean view jacuzzi suite and LOVED it! We saved our change all year to use as tips for the wait staff- who are AMAZING! They work so hard and take such good care […] of us- my mimosa was never empty! Tips are greatly appreciated but I never felt like they were expected. The beach is beautiful and secure (no pushy vendors, etc.) We feel very safe at the hotel; we saw some crashers get busted by the staff before they even cleared the lobby! The weekends at the pool can be a little noisy because they let locals in, but it didn't take away from our good time. Plenty of decent food- *skip the "steakhouse"*. This is a choice hotel to chill at- if you're looking for nightlife, this place is way too far from town for you. We like this hotel so much, we're thinking about coming back a third time rather than going anywhere else. Mehr

The hotel stay was great staff, service and food, but the gym definitely needs upgrading . The equipment is out dated ,and inoperable . The reception making reservations for restaurants got it wrong three (3) times. On fri Nov 2 the hotel was invaded by families with noisy children and people that had no etiquette to the point where DIRTY pampers were […] placed under pool lounge chairs and on ashtray by elevator lobby area. There were clothes, towels and beer cans on the balconies. A few boys were put to urinate on the garden area in public.Security was call to pool area because of a disorderly group. I have vacation at a few riu hotels and this last day of my stay was the worst. Were they having a sale 10 people for the price of one? The environment was uncomfortable and it felt over crowded . We arrived at the hotel around noon. Our room was not ready, which was perfectly fine because our check-in was at 4pm. They checked us in anyways (greeting us with a drink), took our bags up to our room while they prepared it, and gave us our wristbands so we could go get lunch while we waited for the room. Room service was always quick to bring up […] orders. There were fresh towels at the towel hut at all times. They were quick to respond to any inquiry or request in person or over the phone. We were pleasantly greeted and the registration process went smoothly. The room was immaculate and comfortable. The mini bar was stocked daily and any requests we had were handled in a timely manner. The pool was great and we appreciated that the activities did not interfere with our relaxation at the other end of the pool. Our meal at the Steakhouse Restaurant was a fiasco as the wrong food was brought, the plate of vegetables became cold as we had to wait for our steak, and our few requests for additional rolls and clarified butter for the lobster were never met. The only minus for this hotel is not enough bathrooms and dressing rooms around swimming pool. Also I saw a few rouches in the room. Other than that i would recommend this hotel.
