Candlewood Suites Shreveport - Shreveport

The toilet in my bathroom never flushed properly. Told front desk about it and they did not seem too concerned.

It was a good hotel but they do not tell you its an extended stay, so there were no ice machines & the ice makers took all night. It had a bad smoke odor the heater had no happy medium. The front desk clerk thenight of check in was flustered & complaining the whole time too.

I enjoyed my stay it was very peaceful,staff was very friendly checked in b4 time I didn't Wana leave I'll be a guess again soon enough

The pictures listed of the hotel must have been the day they opened. The lobby was full of load people talking and joking with the personnel every time you tried to walk through. We paid for two king size bed rooms. The first room when we opened the door all the sheets and bedspreads were laid on the floor and the commode had urine in it- As though […] someone had just left. The second room was a Queen sized bed pushed up against the wall--- They did change the 1st room out to one that was tidier. The Hotel is not as clean as I would have hoped, and people mill around the parking lot all night. I slept with all my jewelry on and was afraid the car was going to get broken into during the night. This was my second stay at this Candlewood. Overall I am still very satisfied and will plan to stay here again in the future. With that understanding I would offer the following information for others to consider. Although I arrived well after check in time, I was unable to check in becasue there were no rooms available yet. It wasn't a horribly long […] wait (less than 30 minutes), but it would have been nice after a long, hot day of traveling to get an offer of a cold drink or something while I waited. Additionally, although I had reserved a King size bed, they did not have any available so I was given a Queen Suite. Now, the room was quite nice, but it wasn't what I had reserved (and waited for). Great stay. Plus it is down the street from the Airport, Daiquiri Shop, and Classic Chicken.

This was my first stay at a Candlewood. But it won't be my last. I was very pleasantly surprised. I was surprised they did not offer daily housekeeping service but the room was great, and I can make my own bed. For the cost, this is a great place to stay with the benefits of having a suite.

it was a great clean stay and very helpful with my grandmother being handicaped

Let me start by saying the staff was EXTREMELY friendly and helpful. However, I requested a king suite that was on the opposite end of the hotel from the swimming pool (wanted peace and quiet). I was initially given a room that OVERLOOKED the swimming pool. I accepted downgrade to a queen suite in order to go to a different part of the hotel. Then I […] saw the king suites two other members of my party received (both of whom had reserved rooms AFTER I did), and realized BOTH suites I had been sent to were extremely cramped and not really suites - more like cheap efficiencies. The other two suites were huge with separate bedrooms, even though I paid for the most expensive room available through Hotels.com. The stairwells were scary - the stair steps were separating from each other and there was carpet laid over them but you could see the gaps. The hardwood floor in the room was sticky. The sink hadn't been installed very well - there was sealant drooping down into the sink basin. Mehr

My reservation was messed up when i arrived, i had a reservation for 3 people and was given a room with 1 full bed, the place was already full and i almost wasnt able to get a room at all to sleep my party of 3. Once in the hotel there are people that live there so alot of the time I felt out of place, it was like staying with people I didnt know. People […] gather in the halls to talk and u have to excuse yourself between them to go in and out. Not to mention the children running up and down the halls. The hotel was convenient to the freeway and airport. It does not offer a free breakfast like other hotels in the price range. The room was quiet, clean, and comfortable.

Our experiece was wonderful. We spent four days there. The room was very clean, towels replaced daily. Plenty of room for my kids to be comfortable. Very close to airport too. The front staff was very friendly and helpful.

ROOMS & STAY WAS NICE. ROOM WASN'T STOCKED WITH ENOUGH TOWELS FOR WEEKEND STAY , HOWEVER I WAS ABLE TO GET MORE FROM FRONT DESK. I WASN'T EXCITED ABOUT THE MOTION A/C UNIT BUT WILL STAY AGAIN

My hotel stay was good, the room was nice and the staff were very helpful. We had an issue with the A/C unit in the room. It is motion controlled which means its controlled by another and you cannot adjust it or make it come on. This was problem at night because we became very warm and could not turn the a/c unit on which made us uncomfortable. We were traveling from Baton Rouge to Shreveport to attend a funeral. We did not want to travel in our dress clothes. I requested an early check in so we could change clothes and freshen up. The front desk clerk and the head of housekeeping were very accomodating for us. They had a room ready for us upon arrival. They were very easy and very pleasant […] to work with!!
