Lamplighter Inn & Suites - North - Springfield

Hotel was old, and the room was noisy. There was an empty beer can on the floor of my room upon entering it for the first time. I do not have a very good impression for this hotel.

I am not a big cleanliness stickler. But this was gross. I think instead of cleaning our room, they just came in and made the beds. There was little curly hairs on the bathroom floor, and someone's leftover beer in the fridge. The hotel pool is quite tiny. Staff very nice. Hotel old but clean. Next to interstate and various restaurants.

The first room I was given, the toilet did not work and was full of urine and toilet paper. The second room I was given, the toilet did not work either. Rather than go through more nonsense and frustration, I just fixed it myself. They were also doing renovations at the same time. The crew was very rude

I would never stay here again. I had the worst experience and it was a HUGE waste of money. It's filthy and I was not at all impressed. Not worth your time.

the room was clean but very tight you had to turn sideways to get in to the bath room because od the placement of the frige.

Friendy employees, but they don't know how to clean the breakfast area! Lots of dirt was hanging out of the vent in our shower. We stayed four nights and they always forgot to either replenish our towels or soap. There were very few people staying at this hotel, yet they said they had no extra blankets available for us (bring your own! they only have […] sheets on the bed). This hotel was good for the price. If you want nice and new, then you have to pay more. The hallways made you feel like you were in a dorm, but the room was clean. The breakfast was not very good -most of the food was prepared in a microwave (I did not see a kitchen there), and the juice was carbonated, not actual juice. This hotel was horrible! The door to my room wouldn't shut unless it was locked, because part of the locking mechanism was broken and sticking out. The room had hand marks on the door. It was just gross. On top of that when we came to the counter we had to wait for three minutes until someone finally came to the counter to inform us we had 30 minutes […] until check in time. I'm okay with rules, but just the unfriendliness of the lady made me upset. Overall, I'm never going back! I was just trying to make a fun night for my kids and this place made it difficult! Mehr

The Staff there was all friendly and helpful with places and the surrounding area. They were very professional if I am in the area again I would stay there. The breakfast was good and hostess very nice too

We was expecting a newer hotel. The room we was in needed updating but was still comfortable. Be sure to ask for blankets because there really wasn't any on the beds. Just small things needed changed but for the price it was fine.

We stayed for one night. The hotel was clean and very quiet. The staff was nice. The only problem we had was there was no remote for the T.V. in the room but the front desk clerk sent someone up to our room to give us one. Overall good stay. We will probably stay there again in the future,

1st the room smelled so bad tthat I almost left.2nd the remote control did not work the TV. 3rd the next day my card key did not work in the door. 4th the hot tub was not working the 2nd day I was there. I will not stay there again.

It's convenient -- located just off Interstate 44 for those traveling to or through Springfield, Missouri. It's comfortable -- clean rooms, well-kept amenities (including a very nice indoor pool), and courteous staff. Also, a hot breakfast of slightly better than usual hotel quality. It's affordable -- Priced a little lower than nearby hotels of comparable […] quality (Drury, Doubletree, etc.). We first stayed at the Lamplighter in 2004 for a convention, and returned last weekend while in town for a family visit. It's not unusual for a hotel to go downhill in an 8-year period under the same management. We were pleased to see that Lamplighter has been well-kept and was just as nice this time as last. Mehr

Nice large hotel and a very fair price.

This motel was disappointing because the pictures posted on the web site were not the same as the room we requested. We were told it was a family friendly suite. We thought it would be a suite with two separate bedrooms and with a couch which showed in the picture. Can't say enough good things about the staff at this hotel but the bed was very uncomfortable and the room temp was hard to control.

Was not horrible, but would not stay again. 70's type decor. Breakfast was not so good. The beds are hard as a rock and the pillows were flat. Pay the extra money and stay in a nicer hotel in this area.

Friendly and comfortable. Too bad I didn't have enough time to enjoy the pool and hot tub. My stay had me too busy.

I stayed at this same hotel the year before and did NOT love it, but this year decided to try it one more time since the location is so convenient for my route. I had a much more favorable impression this time. Very friendly staff and occupants. Was traveling with both my children, one of which was in a pack n play. this is a very out dated hotel. The layout is very confusing with many, many different hallways on different levels. when I checked in they told me to drive to the back of the building to get to my room easier. When I got there and finally found the room, I opened the door and someone else was already in there!! Had to re-load my car to drive all the […] way back to the front to get it resolved. Uncomfortable beds and lousy "breakfast". Bathtub did not drain - took a shower in 6 inches of standing water. "fitness center" had 2 machines - one treadmill and another kind that did not work. there where bugs in the room

Room was clean and nice, made for a comfortable stay. Minor things showed its age--the little fridge needed fixed (motor was really loud, so we unplugged it), toilet ran every 20 minutes or so, and the shower head, obviously intended to be adjustable, was stuck on a single setting. This hotel was one of the best hotel values in Springfield Missouri. The hotel was clean. The front desk people were friendly and accommodating. Housekeeping was friendly and cheerful. They had a washer / dryer at the end of the hall (free of charge) so I could wash my clothes. The rooms had a refrigerator and coffee maker, ironing board, iron and hair […] dryer. I loved the indoor pool and hot tub. The large breakfast was complementary. It was hot and had a variety of foods to choose from. The hotel is walking distance from 2 major restaurants and was easy driving distance to many fine restaurants in the area. I loved staying here. My only complaint would be the noise from the doors slamming in the hall and at the end of the hall but it wasnt anything I couldnt handle. I would stay here again. It is a great hotel! Beds were comfortable too. REALLY GREAT VALUE! Mehr

I try very hard to keep reviews positive, but it will difficult with this one. This hotel wants to be a good hotel; they really try, but they miss on a lot of the details. 1. There is a ton of deferred maintenance. There were scuffs on the walls, ice machines out of order, etc. You don't notice it at first but the longer you are there the more you see […] it. 2. The door to our room wouldn't close unless you forced it shut. There was dirt in the corner of the room where the cleaning staff consistently vacuumed around a lamp instead of moving it. 3. The hot breakfast was hot. And while acceptable, not very good. (although I heard several people say they liked the waffles). 4. The pool area was nice, but it was so overrun with unsupervised kids doing cannon balls into the pool, I didn't stay long. 5. The hotel staff really tried hard, but lacked the professionalism I had seen in other hotels. I guess I got what I paid for, but I had hoped for more. The hotel advertised great amenities (e.g. the pool, hot breakfast),but I was disappointed with them. I wanted to like this place. I spent my hard earned money to stay there so I wanted to like it. I just didn't. It wasn't for me. I can't finish this review without saying something positive. When I had an issue, the staff did their best to correct it. They seem to be good people and they really tried hard. There are several other hotels right next to this one. Next time I will choose one of them. Mehr

When we first walked in the room, it looked as if it had not been cleaned since a previous guest. The carpet needed vacuumed and the bathroom had hair all of it. The tub leaked the entire stay and the toilet would no longer flush after first night. The maintenance man could not repair the toilet. He leftr water splattered all of the bathroom floor from […] plunging the toilet. The manager did upgraded us into a family suite at 7:30pm, which was not any cleaner. Soda was splattered on the walls and bathroom door. The floor needed vacuumed and the cable televisions both had static. The pool and hot tub were closed one of the nights of our stay. The breakfast attendant sat on her bottom during breakfast at the front desk, leaving no hot, fresh food for breakfast every morning . My family and I will never stay at this hotel again. Mehr

I got a good deal on this hotel and stayed for one night with my family in 2 different rooms. I made the reservation online and called to confirm it that day. Thankfully I printed out the receipt as when we went to check in, the hotel clerk told me that he had us checking in the following day. I showed him my printed receipt and he fixed it and put […] us in adjoining rooms. The room was outdated, carpet very worn, and the beds were hard as rocks. The heater worked good though which was nice since it was very cold when we arrived in the room. The toilet ran non-stop every time we flushed it. It was very loud and kept us up.....my husband was able to take the tank lid off and fix it but he had to do it every time. There was a complimentary breakfast but we did not get up early enough for it. It only was open until 9am. I have stayed in worse hotels but this hotel needs updated and things replaced in the rooms. I would not stay here again even for the price we paid. Mehr

Friendly folk and selpt like a big baby

These were the hardest beds I have ever encountered and both my daughter and I woke up almost paralyzed with back pain. The toilet had a slow leak so every hour would fill with a screetching noise that we couldn't figure out where it was coming from until the morning. Front desk not at all accomodating to our concerns.

Hotel was ok - pretty outdated but decent for the cost. Breakfast was also just ok. Wouldn't recommend to friends or family as I am a pretty picky person... Staff was very nice!

Beds were very comfortable. I usually have a hard time with hotel beds but not here. Free laundry by the ice machine was great! AC worked great. Service was great. Breakfast good. Small bathrooms but they were clean.

Called the hotel for driving instructions. Was told to take an Interstate exit that did not exist. Created a 15 mile excusion getting back to proper exit. Elevator was broken on second night, a common occurance according to hotel staff. The facilities for breakfast were overwhelmed by the number of guests.
