Ich habe mit meiner Freundin für vier Nächte im Hotel übernachtet und kann es wirklich nur weiterempfehlen! Das Zimmer war sehr sauber und hatte einen guten Blick aufs Meer. Das Hotel ist recht ruhig gelegen, wenn man von der angrenzenden Bahnstrecke mal absieht. Wir jedenfalls haben unseren Aufenthalt dort sehr genossen und würden jederzeit wieder […] kommen! Mehr

Was will man mehr? Einfach sehr gut.

Preiswertes Hotel in ruhiger Lage, fünf Gehminuten von der Blauen Moschee entfernt. Das Hotel bietet von beiden Istanbuler Flughäfen einen Abholservice an, was gerade bei Ankunft mitten in der Nacht angenehm ist. Auch hier ist der Preis in Ordnung. Das Personal ist freundlich und hilfsbereit. Zimmer und Frühstücksraum sind etwas eng aber nett. Vom Frühstückraum […] hat man Sicht auf das Meer und vom kleinen Balkon auf die Blaue Moschee. Leider gab’s auf dem Balkon nur einen Tisch, dafür dürften wir mal auf der Terrasse des Nachbarhotels frühstücken. Wer Internet benutzen will und kein Notebook mitbringt, kann dieses als Hotelgast gratis in dem fünf Gehminuten entferntem Internetkaffee tun (nachts geschlossen). Einziger Nachteil: Von den Zimmer die direkt hinter der Rezeption liegen, hört man teilweise die Hotelgäste welche in der Nacht ankommen. Mehr

Das Hotel liegt sehr günstig, ist sehr sauber, bietet ein gutes Frühstücksbuffet auf einer schönen Dachterrasse und hat sehr freundliches Personal. Einziger Nachteil war, dass unser Zimmer im Kellergeschoss lag, die Fenster daher nur hohe Luken waren, was zur Folge hatte, dass es sehr dunkel und etwas muffig war. Ansonsten alles bestens.

Nettes, kleines Hotel mit einer tollen Dachterasse, nur 10Min Fussweg zu den schönsten Sehenswürdigkeiten.

Wir waren mit dem Hotel zufrieden. Freundliche Atmosphäre.

... die Nähe der Strasse und der Bahn. Die Fenster dämpfen den Lärm wirksam. Auf dem Balkon allerdings ist es recht laut. Empfang, Betreuung, Frühstück, die Lage nahe bei den Sehenswürdigkeiten, die Sicht aufs Marmarameer, alles ganz toll.

Im gelben Haus, das 2010 neu eröffnet wurde, hat es eine tolle Terasse mit herrlichem Blick über Istanbul und Meer. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Lage und Frühstück super!

We stayed in Istanbul on 22/Mar/2012 for 1 night. The hotel we stayed actually called "Naz Wooden House Inn", which the staff claimed they are under the same management. It may be a little bit confusing but still okay. Naz Wooden House Inn has a nice view on the rooftop terrace. It is comfortable to enjoy a cup of coffee/tea on the terrace. The room […] we stayed is room no.7. The room is cozy with one double bed and one single bed. However, it had the shortage of water problem in the mid-night. Also, those sound-sensitive person may be annoyed by the sound as the hotel is nearby a tramway. We still recommend this hotel. Mehr

The hotel is equivalent to a B&B but more modern in my view. The room was comfortable, clean and cozy, and the breakfast and afternoon tea were superb. I stayed for 6 nights/7 days and i definitely received great service all throughout my stay. It is strategically located, close to all the major attractions in Sultanahmet (Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, […] Basilica Cistern, and even the 7 Towers prison via rail) and shopping districts like the Spice/Egyptian Market and Grand Bazaar. The price per night was also unbeatable for the comfort and location. One thing that I am hoping for from this hotel though, whether in the immediate or not too distant future: that they find my camera's SD card that I left in the room upon my checkout. I know it was my mistake, but I do hope they still find it in the nooks and crannies of the room I stayed in. So far, they have been excellent in helping me find it, but no luck yet. I am still hopeful to recover all my family photos and photos from my trips. Maybe one day (soon), I will get great news in my inbox. Deniz Houses is a fine Hotel Have a moderate room and the location is excellent located in heart of downtown. The services are good specially the front desk people are very cooperate and nice. Front desk employee Mr. Karim is a wonderful. We will recomend Deniz Houses to all our friends and family. We had a wonderful time.

The location, food, and staff are great. Toothpaste is not equipped and hot water in the shower was not always available. Other than these things, it was great.

Great hotel for the money. The way the shower was designed I could not stand up to take a shower but it was a minor annoyance. Fantastic location, great breakfast overlooking the Bosphorus. Would stay here again

Small and cosy environment at this hotel with low ceilings and familiar personnel. Breakfast is perhaps not the best but definitely worth the rate. Rooms are small but families are given better options. You need to walk up the hills for some 15-20 minutes to reach to central Sultanahmet square and Metro where you on your way cross the historical ARASTA […] Bazaar. Mehr

We had a great stay and recommend this hotel. It offers good service for reasonable money. We really enjoyed excellent breakfasts with beautiful view of the Marmara sea.

Receptionist all are very good and prefessional. good english speakers.... Breakfast was goodbut not excellent. rooms was good but cleaning was with delays and thebed covers never get changed.....! blanket very old and they should have new blankets

My room was modest--not much space beyond the two single beds, simple furniture, lacking in charm or beauty, small but functional bathroom. But I didn't pay a lot, so I am satisfied. Wifi was good. Breakfast was very Turkish--bread, cheese, tomatoes, olives, cereal, instant coffee--and good. The front desk staff were very friendly and welcoming and […] handled my extra requests without complaint. I would stay here again if I was alone or with a friend, but not with my wife and children. Deniz Houses in Sultanahmet provides a terrific blend of charm and familial atmosphere to provide an optimal level of comfort in your stay. Although it may not possess the standards considered for a five star rating, the feeling of warmth and security experienced as a guest far exceeds traditional expectations based on star ratings. It is situated in […] a very pleasant and quiet location in Sultanahmet, which is a very welcoming prospect after walking around the bustling city all day, and is close to a number of delicious local/affordable eateries, Arasta Bazaar (which is a much more low key area for good shopping deals), and sites. It is only a ten minute walk to the major attractions (Blue Mosque, Haggia Sofya, museums) and transportation areas for the train. Most importantly, the staff is tremendous in being hospitable, courteous, helpful, and inviting to their lodging. They will do their best to accommodate all needs and provide outstanding service. The ONLY area of concern for a distinct population is that there is not an elevator for disabled access. Each floor requires use of about ten small steps, but its great to only have five rooms per floor. Other than that, the hotel is truly excellent and I enjoyed a terrific stay. Mehr

Where do I begin... Perfect location. Just perfect. Ten-minute walk to Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque. Twenty minutes to Topkapi Palace. Ten minutes from the Sultanahmet stop on the tram. Close to all the great sites. Beautiful rooftop terrace. Very kind, perfect-English-speaking staff. Delicious breakfast foods every day. The hotel is small but provids good services which may not be available to a big hotel. The breakfast is excellent moreover it provides evning snacks and cofee. The view from the tarrace is beautifull specially in the evening. I must say the hotel is worth for the price. I recommend this hotel to any one specially budget traveller.

Very nice little pensiyon. We got a very small room on 1st floor, but it was still ok. Nice breakfast on the roof terrass and friendly staff.

Hotel is ideally located just 5 minutes walk from Sultan Ehemet Mosque and Hague Sofia Musium and all the activities going on in that area. The seaside park is 100 yards from the hotel, just across the highway. It is worthwhile taking a walk at the park at night. It is beautiful. Rooftop terrace where the breakfast is offered has a beautiful and unhindered […] view of the sea. Spent 5 days at Deniz Houses and enjoyed it very much with my wife. The hotel is tucked into the corner of a side street right in the heart of all the action and its only a 5 minute walk to the blue mosque or a 2 minute walk to the waterfront. The staff were all very friendly and out hotel room was cleaned everyday and it was always a pleasure talking […] to the staff and enjoying the great breakfast. We would recommend this hotel to anyone who is going to visit istanbul for a few days and will mainly be out and about ! Mehr

This hotel was a good value for what it was and where it was located. The room was very small but that is what I would expect given the cost and the location. The one problem we had was that our bathroom did smell quite badly of mold/mildew. The bathroom appeared clean but the smell was quite strong and we had to keep the door to the bathroom closed […] to prevent the entire room from smelling bad. Mehr

Breakfast on the fourth floor with no elevator -not so good for over 65s.The best rooms are 1 and 2 on the ground floor, not that they are anything much but they each have a small outdoor yard, great for a glass of something in the early evening. On arrival, we had to go and find the maid as the bathroom was very grubby.We wanted a double bed, so they […] just pushed two singles together - very uncomfortable. Breakfast was very good and the server was very pleasant and helpful. The same can be said for all the staff, especially the day manager, who went above alnd beyond to be helpful, even going out to the taxi to bargain for us for the cost of the journey! It is a small hotel, suitable in service relative to the price. I stayed one night. It was a clean single room. I enjoyed the small breakfast buffet. Recipient staff is very friendly and helpful. Their english is good and he helped me translating and setting up my turkish SIM card for cell phone when I received messages in Turkish language. Second day […] I was transfered to the sister hotel Haz Wood. It is the same, but was noisy from the street. I was tired and could not sleep easily their! My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights and absolutely loved it. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and adequate. Breakfast was surprisingly good! It is situated only a 5-7 minute walk from the Blue Mosque, so very convenient for touring. We had 4 large suitcases which the hotel was more than happy to store for us in […] the basement until we came back to Istanbul from visiting other parts of Turkey, AT NO ADDITIONAL COST. This hotel is great for the area and the cost. Nothing fancy, just the essentials for when you need to rest. The hotel has an excellent reception manager whom is genuine with advice and places to eat etc. Best for a stay of a few days to check out all Istanbul has to offer.

This is a very good deal. Nice little hotel with huge breakfast and great location. Service very cordial, polite and helpful. One small recommendation: have tea and coffee available in the lobby (in addition to the dining area in the terrace, five stories up;>).

I actually booked two rooms during this stay for me and another party, and my comments hold true for both. It may have been because we were in the basement, but our rooms smelled like mold. Our room didn't appear to have been cleaned, because when I woke up the next AM, I found hair in my bed that clearly wasn't mine. There was also hair in different […] corners of the bathroom. The remote control pad was disgusting. We also heard the cleaning crew every AM, because their closet was right outside our door. Breakfast was decent, but nothing special. Wouldn't stay here again - recommend splurging for something nicer. Mehr

The hotel was really great for the price. The rooms were very cosy, the staff extremely friendly and helpful, and the location of the hotel cannot be beat. The free breakfast was very very good too, and the room had a lovely view of the Marmara Sea. My only complaints were that that my room wasn't available when I arrived and they tried to put me in […] a sister hotel down the street. My friend, staying at the hotel as well in another room, gave up his room at Deniz Houses to go to that hotel instead. That said, it was a great hotel and I'd be happy to stay there again. Mehr

Certainly recommending! Nice small hotel with all the expected things provided and we found all we needed. Very helpful staff happy to chat and recommend things to visit and see. Complimentary breakfast was nice and decent selection and eating out on the roof-top terrace was certainly one of the highlights. I would definitely go back!

GREAT quality and value for the price. Staff was very welcoming, helpful, and informative at our arrival and spoke English very well. Room was very clean and orderly... bathrooms were particularly nice and clean... they seemed to have been remodeled very recently. The location of the hotel is amazing... especially for the price. You are an easy 3-5 […] minute walk from the Blue Mosque, and our hotel room was overlooking the Bosphorus. The breakfast terrace was a definite highlight of our stay in Sultanahmet. It has a nice view of the Blue Mosque and the surrounding area. As well, the breakfast spread is decent and the wait staff are very kind and helpful. You won't regret staying here... especially if you are trying to keep a tight budget. Mehr

We stayed here 5 night. It's very convenient to the must see tourist locations in Istanbul. The staff is very helpful and friendly. There breakfast was one the best that we had at a hotel in Turkey when breakfast was included. One side of the rooms face marmara sea and the other the quiet old city street. We stayed on the quiet street side and slept […] peacefully. We had wireless internet in our rooms but we were on the 2nd floor. I am not sure about the other rooms. Great place at a great price. This is a good, budget hotel in a great and convenient area. The room was a bit cramped (as was the bathroom) but for the $ this was to be expected. The breakfast on the rooftop terrace (overlooking the Sea of Mamara and a little bit of the Blue Mosque) was very good with a wide selection. The staff were all very friendly and very helpful. While there […] we had them book a trip on the Bosphorus and a show of the Whilrling Dervishes. They could not have been more polite, friendy, and helpful. If you stay there, be sure to visit the Little Afa Sophia nearby. It is beautiful and going in the early evening when the light is still good offers a serene place far "from the madding crowds." Hotel was in a great location and the staff was very helpful and friendly, even when we arrived after midnight to check in. Our room was clean in general, though the bathroom floor was not clean when we got there. (It was taken care of by housekeeping when they came in the next day.) We had a room in the basement. It wasn't an ideal location as it always […] felt slightly damp and something was leaking in the bathroom. I would stay at this hotel again, but would request a room in a different location. this place was decent for the cheap price and they give you free internet...which is helpful. the only thing is there breakfast isn't that great

It's a little distant from the "action" in Sultanahmet, but it makes up for it in quiet. The staff was great and the room, though smallish, is traditional. Very clean and nice. The one objection I have/had is to the breakfast buffet. The room is cramped and the selection is, well, rather less than stellar. The coffee, too, could be improved.
