"Nice"
i was there to visity the OTC. it was really nice to stay there. i hope to come back and stay there again soon.
"Close to M.D. Anderson Cancer Center and Reliant"
Great service, great location, quiet, very well-maintained.
"Family Hospital Emergency"
It was very convenient getting back and forth to the hospital by the hotel shuttle. The staff was very courteous and helpful. They were painting the lobby so that was a little inconvenient but very understandable since it has to be done sometime!!
"Rating Houston's TX Med Ctr Hotel"
The hotel was very conveniently located to MD Anderson Cancer Hospital and Luby's cafeteria for meals. Complimentary breakfast was barely OK. Room and TV was very nice except for one thing. The bed had a three inch mattress enhancer filled with non-absorbent rubber foam that was covered with a thin plastic covering and finally 50% polyester sheets. […] All three were non-absorbent and was like sleeping on cellophane wrap. PJs soaking wet by morning. For second evening I pushed all these off and slept fine on just the mattress. I would pay extra for all cotton sheets and pillow case on top of just a conventional mattress and pad. The hotel staff were very courteous and assisted with transportation to medical center venues. Except for the bed it was a good experience and good value. Mehr
"Great Service"
Customer service was excellent. Location was convenient to the medical center. The room was clean and large with small kitchen, fridge, stove, etc. The AC was a little loud at night.
"some concerns"
Every thing was good staff are so good and helpfull the only thing cleaners should change the tissue boxes with new ones for new comers and toillet paper and all these things .
"Hotel Lexington Houston: Mediocrity Defined"
This is a converted two story exterior walk up where the exterior entrances are now enclosed, leaving a situation where many of the rooms have only one window, which opens onto the hotel hallway. Dark and unkempt. Courteous van driver to Texas Medical Center, however.
"Okay for a one-nighter.."
The location of the hotel was really nice and close to the medical center, but there was several flaws to the place. Once we checked in to the room we noticed there was food left in the fridge from the previous people staying there. Also there was quite a long list of TV channels to pick from, however we were only limited to 6 channels. (ABC, CBS, NBC, […] FOX, QVC, and Disney). So if your a midnight shopper or traveling with small kids it wouldn't be a problem. The beds were very comfortable, however as a previous review stated, the top feather mattress cover is wrapped in a weird plastic material so tossing and turning sounds as if your sleeping on a toddler mattress and the feathers would keep comming out of the mattress and poke your legs all night long. There also was a burnt iron imprint on the carpet inside our room. The bathrooms are really outdated and the dishes left for you to use are cheap plastic 1960s plates and bowls. Breakfast consisted of some Little Debbie honeybuns, 3 kinds of cereal, pretzels, few bananas and apples and some juice. I opted for a bowl of cereal, and once I was back in the room I found out that the milk they had left for everyone to use had soured and tasted more like buttermilk. I informed the office tenant and was told that he would check it, but after standing next to the machine for several minutes he never came over to check. If you are going to be staying for one night or maybe two, its not all that bad. Just bring your own stuff to make for breakfast in your own room. Also, I would recommend getting a room on the second or third floor. The room that I was staying in was on the bottom floor and I could hear loud talking, doors slamming, and anyone that walked on the floor above us up until 2am. The bathroom shower also made an awful deep growl when you turned the hot water on. Mehr

"If you plan on staying and actually cooking..."
This is a good location, clean and well managed. But, as an extended stay hotel, they have no knives, etc. for cooking - you have basic pots/pans, microwave, toaster oven, fridge, etc. But, no knives, cooking spoons, etc. If you know you'll be here a while and plan on cooking, come prepared. Or be prepared to make a run to the Super Target that is a […] few blocks away. Mehr
The staff were very friendly and accomodating. They provided us with shuttle service to and from MDAnderson very promptly.
Beds are incredibly comfortable..desk clerk was so nice and helpful to shuttle us from md anderson
"Lexington Medical area"
Good overall experience but be advised of a few negatives. Parking for unloading in front is extremely tight. A suburban length vehichle has difficulty navigating the course. Parking is across the street and does not have security. The lights are even turned off at night. The front doors are lacthed closed at night so you have to wake the attendee to […] exit before 6am. Day sleepers may have some difficulty with maid service. They were able to work with me but their staff (including room cleaning service ) seems very limited. No real complaints though- except concern for safety of your vehichle. Mehr
"A Minature Home"
Even though the room is a room, it was designed to feel more like home... you park your car as if in a garage and come in through the kitchen and into the living room. My favorite was the shower; which was just stone tile, a see-through shower curtain, and gravity to make sure the water didn't escape.
"Recommended for Medical Visitors"
My wife has stayed here a few times when she has to come into town for a doctor appointment. She has stayed in other hotels in the area both fancier and more basic and this one is her preference. I spent two nights myself there on separate occasions and the rooms are nice and facilities functional. The building itself is unusual as it looks to have […] been converted from motel-style to hotel-style in that all the room entrances have been enclosed. Also, there are many little signs with rules and notices. Nothing to worry about, but those two things stuck me as odd. The shuttle was helpful, especially since she couldn't drive herself so it saved on taxi fare. The staff was nice and helpful. The kitchenette was a requirement, too, since she has medical supplies that need to stay refrigerated. Parking is spacious. The building is on a side street, but that contributes to the quietness and lack of passing cars. I don't recall much food within walking distance, but a short drive down Fannin and left on Old Spanish Trail and there are plenty of options. This hotel is our best choice balancing proximity to Medical Center, price, comfort and amenities. Mehr
"Comfortable and Friendly"
As a business traveler, I usually stick with a major hotel chain. This was a welcome change...everyone was extremely friendly, the rooms were clean, and the beds were very comfortable. I also liked that it was a little off the beaten path, so it was more relaxing. I will definitely stay here again and recommend it to others, especially if they are staying […] for a week or more (lends a "homey" feeling). Mehr
"Very satisfied"
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this hotel. It's clean and comfortable. And, people running this place are very nice. I arrived at this hotel late night, and had nothing to eat. The manager drove the shuttle for me to pick up some food. That kind of personal touch is hard to find these days, and it impressed me. I will recommend this hotel to my friends […] and family. Mehr
"nice place to stay"
My husband and I have stayed at the Lexington three times. It is a small motel, but we have never had trouble getting a reservation. The rooms have been clean, the beds are comfortaable, the bathrooms are nice. It is located on a side street between Fannin and Bertner, a very short drive to the Mays clinic and MD Anderson down Bertner. The rooms have […] a small kitchen. We will probably stay there on our next trip to the clinic. Mehr
"Lexington Hotel Suites, Houston, TX"
Really close to the medical center-convenient. My room was nice, with a full kitchen. The windows were weird in that they looked into the hallway so my room was dark, but most others would not be. No refund for early checkout so plan your stay.
"Short Distance from MD Anderson South Campus"
Hot water pressure for tub and shower was very low. Beds were old and way too soft and lumpy. The room had a old smell. This hotel is very old and really needs an upgrade. But you get what you pay for and the price was low a night. But this was a discount price. It should have been a lower per night or less. Can't say I would stay here again. The only […] plus was the very short distance from MD Anderson south campus. Mehr
"Good for extended stays"
Very strong perfume or soap smell in room. Padded carpet. Padded mattress. Front desk not always manned.
"The Roach Motel"
We spent one night in the room and cancelled the second night because of either a very well traveled roach or 3 large roaches that started in the bathroom, closet and then crawling up the bed spread. We were on the ground floor and the hotel is at street level on a continuous block of pavement. One of the front desk personnel was very nice but limited […] in his ability to address the bug issue and the morning front desk person did not appear interested. The breakfast was barely continental which was more like a convenience store breakfast with all prepackaged food and they did not chill the canned juice or milk. I would recommend perhaps getting off of the ground floor to avoid the large tree roaches that are common sites in our fair city and plan on eating in a regular restaurant for breakfast. The night front desk person was willing to take us anywhere we needed to go using the shuttle van which eased our anxiety not knowing our way around the medical center. Mehr
"Last day? who cares!"
My first and second nights were fine, it's just the last day, they gave us old pink stained sheets that would'nt stay in place. Blue raggedy wash clothes, no liner on ice bucket, etc.
"Lexington Hotel, Houston Medical Center"
Staff was very helpful & friendly. Bed was lumpy & hot, like it had plastic sheets. Could not get the room cool. I feel that room temperature & bed comfort are 2 of the most important things you look for in aa hotel room.
"Lexington Hotel- convenient to MD Anderson"
Great convenience to Med Ctr. Weird location (off main street on tiny alley-like street) and parking situation across the small street from the hotel. Nice studio apartment type of room with good sized refrigerator and cooking requirements...but missing forks. The bed was extremely hard and I found myself with neck problems by my first morning there, […] which continued for my whole stay and was compounded by my last night's inability to sleep despite being tired (could not get my body to feel comfortable on the bed). It seemed extremely quiet the first night...but I think I was the only on on the floor? I heard spells of loud noise coming up the open stairwell near my room and then on another night listened to every word of a man's LONG phone call in the room next door to me despite having my tv turned on. I was grateful that he didn't seem to be staying with anyone which I think would have left me listening to all conversations??? My bit of interactions with the staff was always very pleasant. Mehr
Very satisfactory stay and will be using it again and again until medical treatment at the Texas Medical Center is complete.
"comfortable"
The outside of this hotel is not entising but once you get in it is clean and comfortable.
"Don't judge a book by its cover"
The price was great. It didn't stink of smoke! It was very close to Rice Uni and the Med Center. The room was comfortable, clean and quiet. The neighborhood is sketchy, but I didn't have any problems during the week that I stayed. The breakfast snack bar did leave a lot to be desired, but there was at least fresh fruit.
"Hotel shuttle svc - signage s/b more specific"
The hotel was nice and clean. I just had one problem with the shuttle service. It only services the medical ctr and I do understand that the hotel is located in that area but the sign did stating the hours and frequency of trips did not specify that. I feel that the information should be more specific. Other than that everything else was just fine.
"Great Price Nice place to stay"
Hotel was alittle off the beaten path (not hard to find thou if you follow the directions provided) and we worried a little about the neighborhood but didn't have any problems while staying there. Loved the kitchen! It was fully stocked with most items needed for cooking and had normal size fridge. Beds were very comfy and other than hearing our friends […] that had the room upstairs it was very quiet. We stayed for 4 nights and felt very at home. Mehr

"Very Good--Full Kitchenette is a big PLUS"
Very nice hotel for the money. It was nice to have a kitchenette in the room with a table as well. Very comfortable for people having extended visits with loved ones in the medical center area. Staff was very friendly and a courtesy shuttle was provided to close hospitals. Will definitely stay here again if a medical trip makes it necessary.
"quiet, as I hoped"
For my brief visit I didn't need to be in the nice trendy part of the Med Center but expecting to be jet-lagged did need quiet. The hotel worked out fine -- no street noise, no traffic in the hotel, and the hotel air-con is quiet enough, short walk to a meal. The bed was covered with some plastic covered supersoft cushion, but I put it aside and all […] was good. Mehr
"Super friendly staff"
The room is much bigger than I thought, and the facility is clean. It's nice to have a full kitchen (full size fridge, stove top, coffee maker, toaster oven) in the room. The breakfast is weird; it has mostly snacks like pretzels, puddings, cereals, milk, and juice. I didn't expect must so that didn't bother me. The location is a bit off from the medical […] center. Houston is not a walking friendly city, and the it's not pleasant to walk along speeding cars on major roads. The staff is super friendly, and I'd stay there again. Mehr
"Lexington Hotel Houston Medical Center"
Very friendly and helpful hotel staff. Rooms are clean, quiet, spacious and well equipped.
"Lexington Hotel - Medical Center"
The setup of the hotel is odd since the former "motel" (with doors opening directly to the outdoors) has been completely enclosed. Front desk staff extremely pleasant! The room smelled really nice and had a fabulous pillow top on the bed. The parking lot is across from the hotel, but the gate is broken or something and it was left open all the time […] - the guy at the desk let me park in handicap right in front of the building instead. The breakfast isn't very good but it's more of a long-term stay hotel so I don't think they get a lot of business travellers. Mehr
"Lexington in Houston - great site for MDA visitors"
Nice hotel with very forthcoming staff, who also arranged an early morning shuttle before normal service times. It's in a great location for visitors to md anderson center. If you don't take the shuttle, it's just a 15-minute walk.

"The Lexington Hotel in Houston"
Very quiet place, but the outside road needs improvement. The room is very clean and tiny. Good location near to hotel center.
"Not a good choice"
No desk or internet connection in the room. Bed was lumpy and not comfortable. Water in the shower never got hot Carpet felt dirty.
"Great Place to Stay IN the Medical Center"
I stayed for a medical visit and the hotels was more that I expected. The studio-like rooms provide comfort if you're in for an extended stay. The shuttle service for the Medical Center was on time - both taking you there and picking you up. The courteousness of the staff more than made you forget the rudeness of the Yellowcab (local cab service). In […] general, I will remember the assistance provide in a difficult time and wholeheartedly recommend this place. Mehr
