Holiday Inn Express - Madison Square Garden - New York

Ich war für 5 Tage mit Verwandten nach New York gekommen um uns die Stadt anzuschauen. Aufgrund der guten Bewertung und des guten Preises, haben wir uns für dieses Hotel entschieden. Und ich bereue es nicht da gewesen zu sein. Ein gutes Hotel mit netten Personal. Die Lage ist richtig super. Wie der Name verrät, liegt das Hotel in der Nähe des Madion […] Square Garden. Die U-Bahn(Subway) ist nur wenige Minuten zu Fuß entfernt. Also super um die Stadt zu erkunden. Wir hatten ein Doppelzimmer mit 2 großen Betten. Es war ein sehr sauberes Zimmer. Das Bad war auch sehr ordentlich und sauber. Das einzig negative was ich über das Hotel eigentlich sagen kann ist, dass der Frühstücksbereich viel zu klein für so ein großes Hotel ist. Es bilden sich morgens lange Schlagen. Außerdem sind zu wenig Tische wegen dem knappen Platz vorhanden. Mit ein wenig Geduld wird man aber schön satt. Fazit: Ein Hotel mit einem super Preisleistungsverhältnis. Nur zu empfehlen Mehr

we arrived early but were welcomed to leave our luggage until check-in. people at the front desk where always friendly and helpful. the room itself was really tiny but since we're only there sleeping just perfect for the price and location! bathroom was extremly clean. beds comfortable. we can only recommend the place, 2 blocks away from penn station […] and easy & cheap arrival/departure from jfk (only take E train and airtrain!). breakfast is complimentary and more than i've seen in most US hotels. Hotel mit Frühstück, leider nur Pappteller und Pappbecher aber ausreichend. Würde es wieder buchen, Pennstation ist auch schnell zu erreichen.

Unfortunately they gave us a room right next to reception / breakfast room and the entrance. Noise there was overwhelming and made it hard to sleep (even with earplugs). Would strongly recommend an additional door for the section of rooms on ground level. Otherwise room was clean and spacious. Location of hotel within walking distance of metro / shops […] and restaurants. Mehr

Preis- Leistung sehr gur Free of Charge W Lan hat sehr gut funktioniert was man von viele andere Hotels die sogar das W Lan in Rechnung stellen nicht sagen kann. Fruehstueck inklusive und auch OK. Zimmer sehr sauber.

Einfach eingerichtet. Für die Lage und den Preis kann man aber nix sagen. Den Aufpreis für ein Zimmer mit Whirlpool kann man sich sparen. Der Whirlpool hat wohl Baujahr 1980...

Die Zimmer sind für vier Personen sehr knapp gemessen. Unbedingt darauf achten, dass man ein Zimmer über dem 3. Stock (Lärm wegen Disco) und wenn möglich Frontsicht (mehr Tageslicht) erwischt. Lage sehr gut und sicher (Attraktionen, Metro, Läden). Frühstück inclusive und ziemlich ausgiebig. Preis-/Leistungs-Verhältnis stimmt.

Exactly what you expect from an express Hotel. Good location.

room was microscopic - we could barely move around each other Unfortunately, I didn't notice until after we left that there was a very large scrape on the front left bumper that wasn't there when we checked in

we enjoyed our stay at the Holiday Inn Express. We especially enjoyed the free breakfast. The beds were really comfortable and rooms were clean. Great location, about 2 blocks from the train station

We found the Holiday Inn Express to be convenient, safe, moderately priced, clean and comfortable. It's an easy walk (under 3 blocks) to Madison Square Garden or Penn Station. Breakfast is also included. My wife and I had no complaints. We could have paid a lot more, but not gotten anything more than what we got.

Nice personell. Small room with little space for clothing and shoes. Good cleaning. OK breakfast but very crowded. Walking distance to many shops and subway. No noice during nights, from other rooms or outside.

Close to everything

The best part of this hotel was the complimentary wi-fi and breakfast. The location was close to Penn Station. The room was small but clean. The quality of service at the front desk was very good. The support staff lacked people skills to communicate with visitors. Otherwise, it was a pleasant stay for 2 nights.

We chose this hotel for it's proximity to Penn Station (a couple of blocks) because we arrived by Amtrak. They let us check in early and were quite helpful. The hotel is very well maintained and we found the location to be convenient for walking or subway travel. I appreciated the variety of breakfast items available each morning. One drawback was the […] street noise from trash collectors about 2:30 am. A room not facing the street would have been quieter. Also, my careless reading of the Hotels.com description caused me to believe that the hotel had laundry facilities in the building, but that was not the case. We found a laundromat on 9th Ave near 34th street. Mehr

Free wi-fi, free hot breakfast, free luggage storage, comfortable beds, and good location. It will be my #1 choice for my next trip!

Although the room was very nice, the shower drain was very slow, and backing up. The street and hallways were loud. the breakfast was not good. Lastly, the most unsatifing thing was the heat was not functioning, and would not go up to a normal temperture. After getting in bed, who wants to move to another room or have a service tech in your room late […] at night. We won't be back. Mehr

My office is near Penn Station, so I was looking for something within walking distance. This place was great for that. Since it's on a street rather than an avenue, I didn't hear any traffic. The staff was really helpful - when I asked for a recommendation for takeout nearby, the woman at the front desk gave me a handful of menus, then gave me directions […] to the place I chose. The only reason I didn't give this place 5 stars for comfort was that I could hear people coming and going until about 2 am, which is more a reflection on noisy neighbors than the hotel itself - it's probably due to the proximity to Madison Square Gardens. Stayed here on business while attending a trade show at the Javitz Center and was pleasantly surprised at the excellent service we received from the staff. Many NYC hotel reviews remark about poor attitudes and impatient staff, but we found the front desk people to be very friendly and helpful. They knew about our trade show shuttle bus to the Javitz […] and gave us a printed schedule for it. When the hair dryer died one morning I called for a replacement and the guy was at my door in 5 minutes with a new one! There's lots of foreign tourists staying at the hotel, which made it fun and interesting to hear all the different languages spoken. We took the advice of another reviewer and requested rooms on the upper floors. Turned out to be one of the quietest rooms I've ever experienced in New York! The room was on the small side, which is normal for NYC, but you could walk around the bed on both sides and there was space for a lounge chair and a desk. Not much counter space in the bathroom, but it was better than other NY hotels I've stayed in that cost quite a bit more. The breakfast room was always quite crowded, but hey, you're in the Big Apple--get used to crowds! I must say I had a very good stay and the location was great--an easy walk to Times Square. The staff in this hotel was so friendly and helpful all the way from needs for my room, all the way to subway directions to various locations. The breakfast was eat more than I expected, and delicious. I would stay at this hotel again in a heartbeat! Within walkin distance of times square and empire state building! We stayed for six days for the Big East Tournament. We were quite satisfied and pleasantly surprised by the great staff and the great complimentary breakfast. The room was clean and no sign of bedbugs. It was small as expected,but this is NYC. The location was great for MSG and Penn Station. There are two Catholic churches within three blocks. We felt […] totally at ease with the neighborhood (there is a police substation a block and a half away). I would recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a reasonable NYC hotel in this area. Mehr

Great location, free wi-fi, all day coffee. Second time we stayed there and would definitely go back.

I booked this hotel because it was close to the office where I would be working. I regretted my choice of hotel as the room was dingy and dark. The carpet was stained. Overall, the hotel was depressing. The breakfast was packed and there were no available seats. I would definitely not recommend this hotel and would never plan to stay here again.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Just a few blocks from Penn Station. Hotel was full of high school kids on a trip, but fairly quiet.

This is an ideal place to stay in the heart of manhattan. Decent breakfast, clean rooms, nice and helpful staff at about half the going rates of most hotels in midtown!

Location is close enough to walk to the theatre district, Times Square, Macy's and restaraunts but you are far enough away to not hear all the hustle and bustle of the city below yet you still feel safe. the free breakfast was delicious, though the juices were flavorless. The front desk staff was extremely accomodating and very warm. Not what you'd […] expect for a big city at all, especially if it's your first trip to NYC. It was my friend's first trip to NYC and she REALLY liked it. This hotel and the staff definitely contributed to a very good first impression for her. (Diana at the front desk was very sweet. ) Made her first trip want to turn into a second! The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. the bathroom was clean as well. Shower was nice and hot with good pressure. We will definitely stay there again upon our next trip to NYC. Which will be soon! Mehr

The staff was friendly and accomodating to our needs. We arrived earlier then the 2pm check in and they got us a room right away. The room was small, but this was in New York. I would stay there again.

I chose this hotel specifically because of it's location to Penn Station and its Continental Breakfast. Location-wise, it was fine, but the quality of the Continental Breakfast was not worth it: pressed egg product with some kind of cheese, stale cereal, stale pastries, no fresh fruit... And, we waited in a very long line just for the free breakfast. […] On our second day, we ended up walking up to Starbuck's, so basically I paid for breakfast twice. What a disappointment. Mehr
