Leider ist das Hotel mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln nur sehr mühselig zu erreichen. Es liegt zwar nicht sehr weit vom Messegelände, aber mit öffentl. Verkehrsmitteln eine kleine Weltreise.

Wir haben in diesem Hotel auf der Durchreise von Deutschland nach Peru und zurück zwei Mal eine Nacht verbracht. Das Hotel ist insgesammt sehr neu und modern, die Zimmer übertrafen für das Preisniveau unsere Erwartungen: Die Zimmer sind hinreichend groß, hübsch gestaltet und verfügen über eine schönes kleines und neues Bad mit Badewanne. Betten waren […] sehr bequem und schön hergerichtet. Im Zimmer gibt es Wasserkocher und Tee sowie einen LCD-TV. Zimmer, Bettwäsche und Bad waren sehr sauber. Großer Nachteil des Hotels: Die Lage. Eine Fahrt vom Flughafen (Terminal 4) zum Hotel und zurück dauert zwar nur etwa 15 Minuten, kostet aber schon gut halb so viel wie ein Zimmer pro Nacht. Die nächste Metro-Haltestelle liegt gut 5 Minuten Taxi-Fahrt vom Hotel entfernt und Kostet ca. 15 Euro. Von dort benötigt man dann jedoch mit der Metro gut eine Stunde um den Flughafen zu erreichen, da man immer 3x umsteigen muss. Alternativ gib es auch eine Bus-Haltestelle auf der Brücke an der Hauptstraße des Hotels um die Metro zu erreichen. Beim nächsten Urlaub würden wir uns ein schönes Hotel mit guter Anbindung an die Metro suchen. Wer die Taxi-Kosten nicht scheut dem kann ich das Hotel uneingeschränkt empfehlen. Mehr

I chose this hotel for a 1 night stop-over in Madrid, because it looked close to the airport. Actually it is close to the airport area, but it is only posible to get there by taxi, and you pay a whopping 35 euros plus one way and there is no shuttle service whatsoever. And there is actually nothing around the hotel but industry parks. The hotel itself […] was ok, hard beds but the rooms comfortable and the breakfest buffet ok. However, I cannot recommend this hotel, better take a (maybe more expensive) room in the city (center) and save on those insane taxi fees. Mehr

I do not consider myself a demanding or picky customer - moderate priced hotels that are clean and efficient are all I ask. This hotel, unfortunately, was none of these. We got to this hotel at the end of a 9-day European tour. The carpets throughout are black with dirt and mud. My husband relies on a CPAP machine to breathe while sleeping, and there […] were no plug-ins by the bed. We asked at the desk about an extension cord (my daughter speaks fluent Spanish) and were told they had nothing. He had to move the bed across the room to a plug-in. They charged over 10 euros for wi-fi, even though we only stayed 12 hours. The next morning at the breakfast buffet, every plate was dirty - with crusted over food stains. We tried to get the staff's attention to bring clean plates, but they ignored us. I've stayed at several Holiday Inns and have enjoyed them. Overall the hotel wasn't terrible were it not for too bad experiences we had. I visited with my wife and three children (ages 7,3 and 1). Although we reserved a non-smoking room and they gave us a non-smoking room, the room had been smoked in. They acted surprised when I mentioned the room had been smoked in, even though the window had been cracked […] open to let it vent out. No other rooms that could accomodate 4 people were available. Our room had a full bed and sofa sleeper (very uncomfortable) that the kids slept in. The room is very small. We had a pack and play for the baby which only fit in the room in such a way that you had to climb over the full to get to the rest of the room. To the hotels credit they did reassign us a new room for our second night. After laying in the beds for some time we found and killed 4 bed bugs! Since the kids were already asleep we didn't bother changing rooms at that point, but did inspect the mattress and linens more thoroughly and they were not clean! Hair, dead skin and the like was found on the mattress bad. I mentioned it the next day and they expressed remorse, but in neither situation did they do anything to compensate us for the miserable experience, or even offer at least to cover the cost for internet usage. not worth the money. far from restaurants..industrial area.

This hotel was very nice. brand new (18/09/2011). The room was nice. Very Clean. Staff was very friendly. The only down side was it is pretty far away from everything. Downtown is quite a drive. But if you need a nice, inexpensive place close to the airport, this will fit the bill.

The expereince to get taxi from Airport to the Hotel was mystery. The taxi drivers in the airport did not speak much English. The fares are variety. The first drvier migth not want to drive for the short distance for having been in a long queue and asked we to go to departure area to get taxi, he told us the fees would be around 25-30 Euro. Once we […] get another taxi from the departure area, we were told the cost were 50Euro which is totally different from what we have learnt. we went down to the arrival area and rang the hotel if hotel bus can be arranged or if we can take public transportation, but no help and it was too late to take buses. we had no choice but asked taxi again. This driver told us the fare could be aorund 20 Euro, but at the end we were only chagred 16.10 Euro including surcharge. The receoption was friendly and willng to help. On the next morning, we were advised to get to Central areas easily for how to get public transportation. Mehr

A nice little hotel with very friendly staff. Trully, it is far from Barajas airport, however it is a nice and very economic place to stay for a couple of days. Would recommend it to anyone and would book it again should I happen to need a hotel in Madrid. For travellers arriving with their car, it is only 5-10 minutes from the center of Madrid

The hotel itself was great but the location is not great for a tourist without a vehicle. In order to get to the hotel from the center of Madrid, it takes a metro ride and a bus ride (which is nealry impossible to figure out without speaking Spanish). this hotel is far from airport and the city. if they had suttle if would have been good for a connection flight when you only want to stay close to airport. Because the taxi costs around 35 euro and even more to get there from airport.

This was a good place for a long layover from midnight to 11am comfortable

the hotel does not provide free shuttle to and from the airport..It will cost you 30 to 40 euros each way on taxi,the hotel sits on a middle of empty buildings and side of the freeway.will have to walk 200yards over the foot bridge to catch a bus to central metro station.into downtown madrid, very very inconvinience place to stay.

The Holiday Inn Express provided great service while we were there. The hotel is not located near much of anything, but the staff was able to get us food delivered (after 8 pm) and relatively easy instructions to the metro system. The room was very nice (the bathroom had an opaque window into the rest of the room, which was a little strange, but not […] that big of a deal) and comfortable. I stayed in this hotel as an overnight stay for a business meeting and found the hotel staff extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean and modern with comforting surroundings also included hairdyer, kettle, tv and basic amenities to make the stay more comfortable!!! This is listed as an airport hotel but the fare to and from airport was 19.50 euros! Book a nicer hotel with a shuttle (if there is such a thing in Madrid) and you might break even. Hotel was very clean and comfortable. NO bars/restraunts in the area so we ate at hotel. Food was very good but we had about 40 teenagers eating at the same time as us so […] it was a bit noisy. This is the only "airport" hotel I have ever stayed in that does not have a shuttle. It cost 20 Euros each way to the sirport. Factor that into the overall cost of the hotel and this is not a good deal

this hotel has many problems first it's has no shuttle to pick you up from the airport and it will cost you around 20 euros by taxi. and if you have a early flight in the morning well forget. no taxi available. i had to rent another hotel on my return just to be able to get to the airport at for a 6;30am departure. i don't recommend this hotel.

This hotel is about a 20 minute taxi ride to airport. No bus, no metro stop nearby. Very disappointed in the location. Not a good neighborhood.

Public transportation is this hotels' downfall. There is no airport shuttle service. A cab will run you approx 30 euros each way. The bus stop is 10mins walk which will take you downtown to a transfer before it doubles back to the airport. I would only pick this hotel if you truly love Holiday Inns otherwise, learn the metro/bus routes on the fly & […] stay downtown within Madrid! There's so much to see, eat, & do! Mehr

Only stay here if absolutely necessary. Surrounding area is desolate and somewhat scary. Really this should only be a pit stop on your way elsewhere.

This hotel is a great option if you have to overnight in Madrid. It is very near the airport ( approx 20 euro ) and clean. The rooms are well equipped and the bathroom is large. The hotel does not have a restaurant and their are no establishments near by however several local places deliver ( pizza, chinese etc ) and you may eat in the breakfast lounge. […] They do have a bar and will assist in placing your delivery order. The staff is very helpful even though they are always very busy. I would not suggest this place as anything more than an overnight but for the overnight purpose ... it fits the bill perfectly. Mehr

They hotel was okay. The breakfast was minimum, and they didn't even offered a bottle water in the room or at the lobby. They should have enternet services for free at least also there is no saftey deposit box in the rooms.

This hotel was clean and inexpensive. We shose it because we had a 6:00 Am flight out the following morning. It is a little difficult to actually get to the airport from the hotel -and the outside of the hotel was certainly not flattering. My wife and I had a stop over in Madrid for the night so we wanted a place close to the airport. This place is not close to the airport 30EUR approx one way. It is in the middle of nowhere no restaurants near by, no restaurant or bar in hotel - vending machine is available though!! No bus or shuttle to and from the hotel.

sits in a newly developed area, no place convienent to walk to. taxi levied a hefty surcharge to airport. overall, hotel was good, but make sure to get dinner in town, or call for delivery. staff very helpful.

Stayed in Hotel on our last night in Europe before flying out from Madrid and this hotel was an excellent choice. We had 4 very tired kids and our rooms were perfect. Very clean, very organized. It's not a real touristy location, location is frankly not that great if you are after a view or atmosphere. However, if your interested in a place that's easy […] to get to in order to insure getting out of the airport on time. The good news: the room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was modern. The bad news: there are no facilities (e.g. fitness center or pool); the nearest restaurant is miles away; the place was overflowing with screaming kids; the breakfast was marginal and the dining area was inadequate for the crowds. Internet service is unreasonably […] expensive, and TV service is minimal. Even for a stopover less than 24 hours in Madrid, it would be better to take the metro from the airport to downtown and stay there for the night. Mehr

While this was a clean hotel, and close to Madrid Bajaras Airport, it is not close to public transportation to get to central Madrid, nor any restaurants near the hotel. In its in a pretty sad/depressing industrial park. So be prepared to be stuck in the hotel unless you want to pay for a pricey taxi

This hotel is just about impossible to get to. It is not accessable from the main roadway. You have to go past it, make your way through a couple of traffic circles and then drive into a deserted business park (very dark at night). It is not located near any dining, shopping or anything else. It is close to the airport but not the terminal! The bed […] was hard and uncomfortable. The room was small and cramped. The staff was unable to cash a travelers check and there are no ATM's anywhere close so we ended up eating food from the gas station down the street where we could use a card. If you want to eat, you pretty much have to go back into the City. I thought this would be a good place near the airport since we had to fly out the next morning very early. We got very little sleep because it was uncomfortable and then had a 15 hour travel day back to the U.S. Stay away from this place. It's not worth staying here. Go stay closer into the City. It's much nicer and ultimately more convenient since it still takes 15-20 minutes to get to the airport. Mehr

Thinking that the Airport was close to the hotel, we were in complete shock to find out the obstacles we had to take just to get there. Ideally, I would like something around the hotel, but on 3 of the 4 sides, there was open fields of weeds and on the main road is the highway (the hotel is completely secluded from anything- stores, food, etc). It might […] have been a better experience had I rented a car; however, without my own transportation, I would not recommend this hotel due to it being off in the middle of no-where. Mehr

Only use this hotel if you need to stay somewhere the night before you fly out. For that, it's perfect. Super clean, internet access, breakfast, great rates, cheap cab ride to the airport. Yes, they have a shuttle but it's a hassle. Don't use it. If you're looking for somewhere to stay for your vacation time in Madrid, look in teh city center. I had a terrible stay at the Express By Holiday Inn Madrid Aeropuerto. I booked the hotel on 11 July 09 for one night and it took 2 hours to get from the airport to the hotel, a one mile journey! I was hot and tired from traveling all day and the last thing I wanted is a poorly managed system to get to the hotel. Upon arriving at the airport in Madrid, […] I went down to the lower level where hotel buses pick up passengers. At least I thought. I’m an experienced traveler and I know how airports work. I didn’t see any signs for this particular hotel so I approached a small, blue booth that says, “Hotel transfers” above the window. I ask the girl if Holiday Inn has a bus and she said I must call the hotel. “Hummm……..that’s not a good answer” I thought to myself. I mean, the sign does say ‘hotel transfers’, but I went with it. I dig out a 2 Euro coin, the only coin I have, and use a pay phone. And, by the way, making phone calls in foreign countries is a whole other adventure in itself, equal to having your teeth drilled. (2 Euro is worth about 3 dollars US…so I made a $3 phone call that lasted 40 seconds.) So I call the hotel and the man answers and tells me to look for the bus ‘Aero City‘. “Aero City?” I ask him, and I ask him to spell it. “Okay, I’ll try to find the Aero City bus.” He then mentions the bus charges 9 Euro. Oh, that’s great. 9 Euros (about $12) to take a bus 1 mile. Now that’s worth coming back to this hotel for. Anyway, I go outside to the hotel bus stand and carefully watch for the Aero City bus. Many buses come and go; hotel buses, tour buses, parking lot buses. I wait 15 minutes. The 25 minutes. Finally I’m up to 55 minutes, no Aero City bus. Suddenly, I find myself at a major decision point in my life. Do I continue to wait for a fictitious bus, or do I go back inside for more mental gymnastics and risk missing my ride. My only other option was getting a taxi, which I asked about, and they charge 25 Euros. I’ll be damned if I’m going to pay a taxi $4 Mehr

my friend and i stayed at this hotel because it was a cheap and somewhat near the airport. unfortunately, that was pretty much all it was near. it took a long time figuring out where it was. we kept asking people for directions, and no one knew the street it was on. after two buses and 30 mins of walking (with HEAVY luggages), we ended up at the metro […] station we had started at. i finally gave in and hailed a taxi. thankfully, he kinda knew where to go and we spotted the hotel as we were driving. other than the location, everything else was great. the room was nice, clean and air-conditioned. the complimentary breakfast was good. they have a shuttle service that takes you straight to the airport. we even made our way into downtown madrid the next day without any trouble. i would recommend staying here but take a taxi. from the canillejas metro station, its less than 10 euros away. I selected this hotel due to be close of the airport but it is located far of the airport. The area where the hotel is located is very dark
