The Westin Princeville Ocean Resort Villas - Princeville

We loved staying in Princeville, and the Westin was certainly the right choice. We enjoyed the spacious rooms, friendly staff, and lovely hotel grounds. We also liked being able to use the St. Regis spa. Because we had just planned our wedding, we had planned a minimal amount for the honeymoon. Poor customer service. Amenities are nice. Pool attendants need to show some ALOHA. Housekeeping is lagging. Security showed up to our room at approx 8:30PM because our kids were too loud. Housekeeping forgot to leave linens for the pull out bed and it took them approx 90 mins to bring the sheets. The Westin painted our front door in the morning and […] no signs were posted. We had a great experience at the Westin Princeville. We picked it mostly because we wanted to be in the Princeville area. We've traveled around the world to a lot of great places, and for a quiet, out doors-y vacation, Kauai is right up on the top of the list. We loved the little town of Hanalei, which is about a mile down the road. We made the most […] of the kitchenette in the room, which really helped reduce the overall cost of the vacation. Here are some notes: -We had to change rooms because the first one they gave us was directly over the kiddie pool. -Our second room, looking over the golf course with mountains in the background was nice and quiet -The room and facilities were in great shape -Supermarket nearby was helpful -Market at the Westin was actually really nice too -We got massages, but the only option was to have them under a tent in one of the courtyards. There are about 50 rooms with views of the massage table, plus the pool is close enough to hear. I would NOT recommend a massage here. We heard a Grandmother trying to teach her Granddaughter to say, "I love you" for half an hour -The staff was fantastic -It would have been nice if the restaurant had some cheaper/ more casual options for dinner -There are a lot of grills for use outdoors, but we didn't use them -Family friendly -We would stay there again. This hotel and the service was truly wonderful. My only compliant was that the sheets could be softer.......

Our one room villa was clean, well stocked and comfortable. My only complaint was that Westin should have used a higher quality of finishings re the carpet and the bathroom, they were a very basic quality and I expect more of a Westin facility.

I checked in at 2:30 and was told my room was not ready and they would call my cell phone when it was ready. 5:30 and still no call and went to the lobby. They didn't know who I was, after 20 minutes of huddles they got me a room. My stay was quite lovely the rest of the time.

At first sight a lovely hotel in a beautiful setting. Just a few problems. This is a very family friendly place, so if you are not expecting the commotion that comes with kids, this might not be your place. The condo in which we stayed had thin walls and we heard lots of muffled conversation. The grills in our section were poor-hard to turn on and keep […] lit. Otherwise, very nice. Great location, near many north shore beaches. Kitchen was lovely, bedding was wonderful, bathroom-spacious with a deep jacuzzi bath. Mehr

This is a new timeshare/vacation club property. We stayed 2 other places on the Island and this was the one we liked least. We thought the plan they used was not suitable for Hawaii. All rooms enter from an inside hall and has only the sliding door to the outside, so no flow through air so you are stuck to a door closed, air conditioned environment […] - not what we like. The buildings are quite close and the pool area echos off the buildings making it quite noisy. They put us directly above the kids pool, the parents were the annoying ones . . screeming and hooting every time their little darlings went down the slide. The sound, bouncing off the buildings was made even louder. There was really NO kitchen. Just a tiny bar sink and we had chosen this for that reason. We were sorry we had not chosen other condos. I think the older ones are more fresh air oriented with full kitchens and nicer decks. This was also the most expensive! We didn't bother asking about their club - no way! Mehr

Excellent facility and staff was very friendly and accommodating. Princeville in June is wonderful. It was nice having the option to stay in to eat with the small kitchen in the room. Thoroughly enjoyed the stay.

This brand new condo style room has everything you could possibly desire in a hotel room. Luxurious bathroom with sparkling dual head shower, and an awesome jacuzzi tub. Great dining table, living room area, and well applianced kitchen. Not much of an island feel to the place, but a very comfortable spot to rest your head and make your base.

Princeville provides easy access to Hanalei, Na Pali, and the north coast of Kaua'i. We experienced several minor annoyances with the resort: (a) late check-in (4pm) and early checkout (10am) mean that you only get 18 hours when you pay for one day. (b) Air conditioning was noisy (esp. when it came on), and it was blowing directly on the bed. We were […] able to fix this by adjusting the vent fins. (c) The resort provides no place to clean up after going to the beach. These were all minor problems -- we had a very nice stay. We were only staying 2 nights -- but this place is more appropriate for people who plan to stay a week or two. I continue to be amazed at how noisy and poorly designed many hotel ventilation systems are. It seems to me that by now the industry should know what works and what doesn't! Mehr

Although we didn't have a view of the ocean, we were very pleased with the pool view and the gorgeous surroundings.

Resort heeft een goed restaurant erbij wat erg makkelijk is en de kwaliteit was uitstekend van het eten. Erg aardig personeel en voor ons zeker aan te bevelen bij andere vakantiegangers die de Noordzijde van Kauai willen verkennen. Kamers ruim van opzet. Prima fitness aanwezig.
