Bewertet von einem Hotels.com-Gast am 30. Sep. 2012Das Hotel ist zwar etwas in die Jahre gekommen (dafür kleinen Punktabzug) und typisch amerikanisch aber dennoch vollkommen OK. Es ist natürlich kein Interconti, man bezahlt auch keine Interconti! und wir wollen hier auch nicht auf Interconti Niveau bewerten. Alles funktionierte enwandfrei. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich. Unser Zimmer selber war ausreichend groß für die Übernachtung, aber zu klein, um dort den Tag zu verbringen. Es war eine kleine Küche enthalten mit Herd und Kühlschrank. Alle Geräte fuktionierten und wir hatten keinerlei hygienische Bedenken, wie auch nicht bei dem restlichen Zimmer. Das Hotel liegt ca. 300m vom Ufer entfernt. Wir sind zwar mit dem Auto in knapp 10 min am Parlament gewesen, aber zu Fuß sollte es auch in ca. 30 min machbar sein. Parkplätze sind auf dem Hof vorhanden. Allerdings kann es zu Spitzenzeiten zu Engpässen beim parken kommen. Die Nachbarschaft sieht, glaube ich, schlimmer aus als sie ist. Wir haben uns aber nie unsicher gefühlt. Als Ausgangspunkt für Stadbesichtigungen ist das Hotel sehr gut gelegen. Wir würden es beim nächsten Stadtbesuch auf jeden Fall auch wieder buchen, da das Preis / Leistungverhältnis m.E. für 1-2 Nächte gestimmt hat.

Hotel fordert bei "Check in" unterschriebenen Kreditkartenauszug über 100 $ mit Vermerk: for authorisation" für evtl. entstehende Schäden im ZImmer. Dieser Auszug wird bei "Check out" auch nach Aufforderung, das Zimmer auf Schäden zu prüfen, nicht zurückgegeben mit der Begründung: "das sieht unser Prozess nicht vor". Stattdessen verbleibt der Kreditkartenauszug […] im Hotel und kann dadurch auch nachträglich willkürlich durch das Hotel belastet werden. This place has a very friendly and welcoming staff. I had booked a non balcony room, but they upgraded me for to a room with a balcony as the hotel wasn't that filled. My stay was for one night only, but I was very satisfied with it. It is in a prime location and you have so many things to do close by. Tip: there are public parking lots close by that […] you can use as an alternative to the private parking the hotel provides and it costs just one third of the hotel's parking charges. I booked this hotel as an unknown 3star hotel in the downtown Ottawa area. The location is fantastic and the staff try hard. The room we had was very out of date and very cheaply done. It looked like a 1980s condo/ apartment that they forgot to renovate when they changed to a hotel. If this was rated as 2star I would've been very satisfied with it but […] it is not 3star. Excellent hotel in a central location near Byward market and restaurants, as well as specialty shops. Staff was very helpful and assisted in recommending good places to eat and best transport routes. We had a really good stay at Byward... The room was cosy and ours had a balcony.. on the front .. It was quiet even on a weekday morning.. The breakfast had a nice variety to offer.. I spent three nights at the Byward Blue Inn at the end of October and was extremely pleased by the quality of the room, the warm hospitality of the staff and the the wonderful service. The room was beautiful and had many amenities: frig with mineral water, coffee maker with teas and coffee, warm robes,and free wifi. Buffet breakfast and afternoon tea […] were included. The staff were super friendly..The hotel was close to the Byward Market, the National Gallery and Parliament Hill. I parked my car when I came and never used it again until I left. It was lovely. "Good value and convenient"
Quaint Boutique Hotel conveniently located in the ByWard Market in downtown Ottawa. Comfortable, quiet and clean. Bathroom was a little dated but bedroom was large and comfy and appeared to be recently furnished by Ikea: functional and clean. Full hot breakfast was available too. Parking was steps away in well lit Public parking garage for only $8 max […] a day. Staff was very helpful and informed. "Excellent all round"
The hotel is situtated in the heart of the market but just far enough away from the bars to be quiet. In that sense, it was an absolutely perfect location. The room I had was really comfortable, the tv was old and the remote didn't work that well but all in all it was a really great stay. Would recommend to anyone.Authentische Hotels.com-Gästebewertung

"hip location; way beyond dated"
My room had cheap, peeling laminate flooring, curtain hems were falling apart; a/c was clear taped and screwed into the frame with raw wood; dyi decor dates back to the 80's...... Had to lift my heavy suitcase up the front entrance stairs, because there is no ramp; definitely not a place for disabled or impaired persons. It was absolutely NOT worth […] it's price.
