We checked in without a problem. The staff offered the WiFi password up-front which took away the hassle of asking about it. There was ample parking and the internet was blazing fast (Cox). Quiet area and friendly maintenance staff (we tripped our breaker - they fixed immediately). Overall I had a great 2-day stay there. By no means the best motel I ever stayed in but was very affordable, decently clean, the people who work there were all VERY friendly. My real issue with this hotel is location, there is nothing nearby except for a Dennys and a very overpriced liquor store. Bed was reasonably comfortable, maid service was good, not much offered for breakfast just mini […] muffins and apples, felt a few days of my stay that I was the only person there, wifi worked good, tv was very blurry but maid noticed and had a maintenance guy fix it in less than 5 minutes. bring your own blow dryer..other than that the couple who owns the place are super nice and helpful, place is cheap-pool is small but nice and clean-you can see the lights of Mexico from your porch-cool-felt very safe-place was very quiet-pillows are not great

the room was clean, TV ok and the breakfast was ok for the price I would stay again.

Room was clean and comfortable. Only issue no shampoo in the bathroom. Their beds are very comfortable.

This motel is right near the US / Mex border so there are a lot of places in the area that cater to the nature of this area. The hotel has a rule that there is no visitors after 9pm, I found this to be odd but I assumed this rule is enforced for safety purposes. During my stay I was not relaxed. The room was not well kept. Cigarette burns on sink.Chair falling apart.Pool was good.

As soon I opened the door there was a very bad odor. It smell like it has been close for a long time. We had to leave the window open all night long and we couldn't turn on the AC because it was circulating the odor. There were also stains in the toilet. I would not stay again there. The front desk staff are very helpful and pleasant, check in/ check out is easy with Hotels.com reservation. Was sad to see that no bagels were not available on Sunday @ 6am as i was told when i checked in the day before. Will continue to use this place in the future. Would like and option to be closer to the pool next time.

This hotel was picked because of the rates. When we arrived at check in time our room wasn't done being cleaned it took about 30 minutes for us to finely get in the room. I did reserve a room so they knew I was coming. Not a great start. The beds were not the greatest. But the room was clean.

Knights Inn San Ysidro is 2 miles from Tiajuna, Mexico. The room was dirty upon arrival. A smashed cockroach was on the inside of the door and remained there the entire 7 days I stayed, sticky soda pop rings on the the flat surfaces. I tipped the 1st day and the surfaces were cleaned. I continued to tip through the week daily until the 5th day when […] again nothing was cleaned but the beds were made and towels refilled. The towels are like drying off with a paper towel (1 ply) The bathroom floor was caked in dirt and the shower has a ring of rusted old mold. I set my white shorts on their closet hangers and they are now ruined from rust and some kind of orange pop stains!! No blow dryer, amenities were subjected to a bar deodorant soap and a bar of facial soap. No clock. I seen later I needed to request these items and pay extra although didn't state this upon reservations. We only used the room to sleep as there is no refund once purchased, or I would had found another place. The front desk people were all very nice and professional. I'm upset at the quality and upkeep of this hotel. I would not recommend this hotel nor stay here again. I'm very upset my shorts are now ruined due to rusted closet rack and hangers. We ended up leaving a day early because it was so disgusting! Mehr

I was please with the room and the rates, but it would have been nice if there was free breakfast in the morning. I would recommend this hotel to my friends.

I was staying here so I could attend a Padres game, being that the hotel was only 15 minutes away from Petco it seemed like a nice location. I didn't realise how close I was to Mexico however, and I'm not embarrassed to say that I was a little worried since the border was less than 1 mile away. The hotel service was great, the room was very clean, but […] at the front desk you were given a TV remote that only had Power and +/- for Volume and Channels, no numerical buttons; bring your own universal remote if you have one. I'm sure this hotel would be great if you were spending a few days in Mexico. Mehr

Needed an inexpensive place to sleep one night in the San Diego area...this was it. All the other places severely price gouge...so I had to traveled 20 minutes to find this place. The hotel was right off the frwy. Check in was in efficient and took a while. It seemed like some of the tenants were living in the rooms. And when I checked in at roughly […] midnight...there were outside, barbecueing, with their car stereo on and their room door wide open. It was not too inviting. My room was clean enough...though there was trash under the bed. I did sleep quietly until the front office had the audacity to call me at 2am to accuse me of continually calling the front office. I told him he woke me up from a dead sleep and he continued to argue with me saying there were kids in the background. We were simply 3 adults and dead tired from working all day. He told me room 123 kept calling ...we were room 236. He finally left us alone. This guy was unprofessional and discourteous. we stayed here 2 nights and it was a nice motel. Friendly staff ,very clean rooms, can walk to shops etc...

My partner and I felt unsafe at this location. San Ysidro is not ideal if you want to be in the San Diego vicinity. Great for the outlets, not for anything else. Parking was sketchy with loud people yelling in the streets. Hotel receptionist was not accommodating and appeared to resent her job. You get what you pay for...no amenities in room(ie coffee pot, hair dryer, alarm clock) guy at front wasn't at all friendly. Room was pretty clean. Pillows were like concrete!

The room stunk and was dirty. The shower was dirty and had not been cleaned out. There was no hot water in the shower. Overall, it was horrible.

The hotel was just a mile or so from the Mexican border and 15 miles from downtown San Diego. The room was very small but clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. The only complaints were the size of the room, the fact that if you wanted a coffee machine you had to pay extra and that the neighborhood isn't the greatest. The room is small, but the beds are clean and comfortable. The bathroom is quite nice too. Al although it is very close to highway and major road, after playing all day, you might be too tired to hear anythings. Breakfast is just muffins and apple. With the cheap price, I like my stay.

I made the mistake of not researching how far this hotel would be from SD (our final destination) so we ended up driving a bit further than expected. The hotel was decent. Upon arrival the staff was courteous and when asked about the internet they said that it was currently down but would get it up in a few hours. Later that night the internet was back […] up. The bed was bearable but there was a slight musty smell when you first entered the room which quickly cleared up when the a/c was turned on (must've been the humidity). I accidentally turned the heat on and it stank bad... watch out for that. The only bad thing I can really say is that the toilet flush handle would need to be jingled after flushed because it wouldn't seat properly. Otherwise, the hotel was nicely kept (for being as old as it was), the cleaners were thorough and it was only one mile from the US/Mexican border and only around the corner from the America's outlet malls. The neighborhood looks a bit shady but there was really nothing wrong or bad about it. I grew up in downtown Los Angeles and was able to recognize that those around there are not looking for trouble (be sure not to stereotype). Overall, good hotel. You might as well stay in Tiujuana! Pay the extra $10 to $20 and choose another hotel that is not roach infested.

This property just became part of the Wyndham Hotel group, so I was able to get reward points. It is a great value for money. I paid less then a hundres dollars total, for a three nights stay. It is within walking distance to border and the Las Americas Premium Outlets. Duty free shopping (30 per carton) stores. Denny's, IHOP and all of the ff chains. […] I took the trolley down to border from San Diego and spent $5 for taxi to hotel, because I had luggage, otherwise I would have walked. I have stayed at the 3 other hotels that are also within walkking distance, and found that the price I paid could not be beat. This is by no means a Courtyard or Holiday Inn, but the best comparison I can give is that of a older Days Inn or Motel 6. If appearance is not an issue, then you cannot beat this hotel. This hotel has a great location,as soon as you exit off I-5 south, it's right there on the right. And the management/staff was great,really helpful. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. And the internet/WIFI there is the best I've seen in a long time.!! This hotel has a beautiful setting and lay-out. When I saw the price I thought it would be a dump but it was actually a good stay especially for the price better than a days inn and right off the high way

Nothing bad, nothing great, good enough for a night between 2 attractions in San Diego. Breakfast did not provide any milk which was unfortunate because we had a 4 years old child with us, and only some sweet pastries to eat.

Online stated checkout is at noon but its actually 11a.m, very upseting.

This place needs a little help. Frankly I think the price was to high for the room. There wasn't a fridge, and for the life of me I couldn't find an ice maching. The wireless internet was spotty at best, and as a someone traveling for work and who is a gamer, this is not acceptable. The router kept kicking me from the internet. Since gaming with friends […] and family while on the road is my social outlet, I wasn't to happy with the spotty internet coverage. The only plus is that I could roll out of bed and land at my jobsite from this place. If your looking for a bed and bathroom stay here, otherwise go somewhere with a few more features. Mehr

For what you pay it is decent. People at the front desk definitely lack people skills but fortunately you don't have to deal with them too much. The rooms are fairly clean except the bath tub could have been a bit cleaner. The rooms do not include fridge, microwave or coffee maker...it is an extra $10 per night for these amenities. You are about a 30-40 […] minute drive from Sea World and the good beaches...there is always traffic on the way into San Diego regardless of time of day!!! It is conveniently located. The rooms aré old and smelly. Customer service was terrible. There was a long line To check in and even though I had a reservation all the others in line didnt i had To wat 45 mins To check in because the clerk Said she had To take her break and would be back in 10 mins and just left us all standing there. It's surprising how little there was to complain about at a hotel with such a low rate. The only cons were the mattress was a bit hard and the bottom sheets were too small so they kept slipping out. The breakfast was minimal but overall it was great value.

Not what was in the hotel description, no lock in ba door. No hair dryer, no shampoo!!. There was pop corn left overs just next to the TV, towels so old and seemed dirty. I wasn's expecting luxury for the price, but at least a clean place.

The place was a dump. No hairdryer, no microwave, no refridgerator, no tissue, no clock. Stank, very low class. Yuck. Gross.
