Apex at Vail Condominiums - Vail

The male staff member was rude and unhelpful. The room smelled horrible. The TV didn't work. When I pay this much a night (during the off season in Vail) and the name "Holiday Inn" we expect more. The amenities were OK and the restaurant was good.

Not a condo. This is the upper floor of a Holiday Inn. So if you have high expectations this is not the place for you. When I found this place it sounded great online. It has all the basic bed, bath and alarm clock. But really you could get this anywhere else at a more better rate. The good thing is this place is next to a Safeway and a few eating places […] within walking distance. They also have a shuttle to Vail Village but it did not work according to their plan and the drivers and attendants were not particularly helpful or friendly. This place is ok - maybe two stars. I would definitely shop around before settling on this place. Otherwise Vail was great . Mehr

The staff at this hotel made this a great experience. From the desk clerks to the maids and the driver of the van, they were very helpful and pleasant. The rooms were slightly shabby but clean and the beds very comfortable. The kitchen was decently equipped but lacked a toaster.

I would most definitely recommend staying here if you are planning a trip to Vail, CO. The location is wonderful and we couldn't of asked for better service from the staff. If I'm ever in the area again and not staying at a ski-in ski-out resort I'll be back!

I found the hotel to be reasonable for the area it was in. Hotel was clean and well kept up. Pleasant employees. Nice sauna, jacuzzi & exercise room. Do wish there was small frig in rooms.

We really enjoyed this hotel. It is a room, not a condo on the top floor of the Holiday Inn in Vail. It was a great price, very clean and convenient to the grocery store and some other shops. We had use of all of the hotel amenities: pool, workout room, restaurant, etc. No complaints whatsoever! I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel. The name […] is deceiving, as some might think it is a condo. Our room, however, was just that, a hotel room. We were told that when we made our reservation, so no problem. Mehr

The woman who checked me in seemed to not want to be bothered and had a bad attitude. She never smiled and really left a bad first impression.

We enjoyed our stay at Apex. For those not familiar with the area or the hotel, Apex DOES NOT have a sign up front. It's in the same building as the Holiday Inn at the same location, but on the upper floor(s). It was a bit confusing at first. The room was clean, and it had a little balcony- common with the room next to us. Short stay for us (one night) […] but the price was right and we enjoyed our stay. Mehr

the "Queen" room is a small, low ceiling, dated room. Decent location, but for the price not exceptional. The pool and spa areas are good, the restaurants busy and reasonable for Vail. However, it took FOREVER to check in and we were the only ones in line. After we heard the manager instruct the clerks on how to process our reservation and tell them […] not to make us wait, they still gave us a bill at the end of our stay for our prepaid room. if you have time to waste, stay here. on the other hand the cleaning staff was wonderfully attentive and the sushi bar was tasty although the decor was struggling. paper walls, I had nightmare from disrespectfull neighbors from each side , even above my room. Jumping, running, loud TV, loud conversation , it was insane , and not much help from front desk. This is the reason i wouldnt stay there again. Slept on average 4-5 hours. Also, not for single travelers, families with small kids mostly in hotel that explains […] that excessive noise. Mehr

The lobby and other common areas are very attractive. Lots of facilities including a couple of restaurants, a ski retal shop, and a spa with massages available. The rooms are basic, but met our needs. The price in ski season as at least $150 less per night than at Lionshead and Vail Village per night, and the free van service takes no more than 10 minutes […] to the base. Mehr

This is a good hotel, in a great location, with a totally awesome restuarant, phenominal views, and old, outdated mattresses and pillows. The bathrooms are stylish, with a great showerhead, and the rooms have been upgraded to flat panels tv's, but the bed was hard, old, and the 3 pillows on a queen bed were flat and tired. I really liked this place, […] and it was a good deal for the price, but I never got a 'good nights' sleep. The West Side Cafe has simply amazing food and is probably some of the best food you'll find in the valley for lunch and breakfast. They also had one of the best cups of coffee I have ever had! Mehr

Enjoyed my stay at the Holiday Inn Apex in Vail, CO. The hotel has 3 restaurants at/on the property - Japanese, American brkfst/lunch/dinner cafe, & a Sports Bar - with a McDonald's next door. A Sports Authority & Safeway are just past the McDonalds. Charter Sports ski/boot rental has a shop in the hotel. While not right in Vail village or Lionshead, […] the hotel shuttle leaves every hour & 1/2 hour for Lionshead & Vail village between 8:00am & 8:00pm and is very convenient. This was my first time not staying in Lionshead or Vail village and I found the shuttle more convenient than shlepping back & forth with skis, etc. to an in-town hotel. The jacuzzi, outdoor heated pool & sauna were refreshing & relaxing after a full day of skiing. The staff was friendly and efficient. My room was as expected, a standard room with a queen bed & small balcony. The towels are big and large, which was welcomed. The hotel rate was extremely reasonable, particularly for Vail. I was happy with my stay and would recommend the Holiday Inn Apex for your next skiing/riding vacation in Vail. Mehr

If you're looking for a condo, this is not the place to go. It was a badly decorated, small hotel room. No microwave, no refrigerator, no stove-top. The service was bad as well.

Noisy area. Next to interstate. Our room had ripped carpeting that could easily be tripped on. It was presented as a "condo" in the ad and was a very small hotel room.

I stayed three nights in summer. It was quite inexpensive (in summer) for a pricey location like Vail, so I was prepared to make compromises. But in fact, these condos are really just the top floor of the Holiday Inn hotel in West Vail. There is no difference between the hotel rooms and the condo rooms that I could find besides the price. My room was […] in great shape, with granite bathroom, new-looking hair dryer and iron (plus ironing board), safe for valuables, and flat screen TV. The AC wasn't silent but was tolerable and worked fine. My only complaint was about the wireless internet, which I thought would be free but it didn't seem to be free when I tried it. There is a port for wired hi-speed internet access assuming you bring along your own ethernet cable. Many options for food in walking distance. Free bus service to all major Vail Valley locations. Lobby was comfortable and front desk was fine. For the price (much less expensive than the identical hotel rooms one floor below), this was unbeatable. Mehr

Hotel was nice - very informal. The location was a bit commercial, but had good parking and access to public transportation. The room was nice for the money paid and we'd stay there again.

The hotel was nicely furnished and clean, but the rooms were not well insulated, and we could hear our neighbors and their TV. There was a large gap under the door for adjoining rooms.
