Extended Stay America San Diego-Hotel Circle - San Diego

This place was nothing special. I don't see why a person would stay here unless they were part of a conference or business was paying for it. To be charged for parking is ridiculous, given so many other hotel options in the area. Rooms were doable, though dated and seemed rather "old". Bed was comfortable. Bathrooms dated.

I showed up at 1am to check in, the lady at the front counter told me she didn't see my name and they had no rooms available. After I explained that I had already prepaid and gave her my confirmation number she checked her computer and told me she did see me in the system, but I had already checked in. After 20 minutes of me explaining that I need a […] room, and would like the one way I paid for she finally found a room to put me in. The lady never apologized. I asked to speak to a manager and she told me one would call me in the morning. Of course nobody ever called me. Then when I called downstairs and explained to the manager Chris what had happened. His response was he didn't know why she did that. Never offered anything in compensation. I will never stay at an extenda stay again. Mehr

We ended up extending our stay because it was so easy to get to from just about everywhere. Trader Joe's and Wholefoods was about 2 miles away, main highway about .5 miles - bonus is that the hotel is pretty sound proof so we could not hear the traffic. Laundry room was handy to get stuff washed before heading home. Dog friendly and loved having a […] little kitchen to make breakfast and lunch to take with us, staff were friendly and helpful. Fantastic spot to see everything San Diego has to offer. It was perfect, we would stay here again. Mehr

Pros: great location, felt safe, free wifi Cons: Outdated, nothing fancy by any means

After reading a few of the reviews we wondered if this place was going to be okay. But it ended up being PERFECT! Great location, and the room was nice. The bed was SUPER comfy. The kitchen worked well, and there was even pots and pans and a a couple of plates and silverware. (not fully stocked- so if there are a few of you- might want to bring some […] more). The Shower even had enough water pressure. We enjoyed our stay and the best part was they allowed us to bring our dog. Very pet friendly. We would totally stay here again! Mehr

Only one negative - a slow drip in the sink caused me to take a bit longer than usual to get to sleep. On the plus side - the room was so quiet (a good thing) that the drip was noticeable. The hotel was nice, clean, location was great.......However at our arrival the front desk person wa not very welcoming, there was no pool, no breakfast, and the "Queen Beds" were smaller than most hotels!!! overall it served our purpose!

Everyone was really nice.it was super close to the freeway and the walls were sound to not hear the others. Very close to the mall. Close to many entertaining places. Would love to stay there again.

sheets were not changed just bed made from last guest no shampo,tisssue,coffee sugar......in room

Convenient location, good parking, nice staff, clean rooms.

arrived at noon, told to come back at 3pm. not allowed to use the restroom. first room tv not working. told to pick up soap and shampoo at front desk. only one person working. will not stay here again.

My room was fine, but they allow many smoking rooms and the access is indoors so the hallway to my room was full of cigirette smoke. My room was fine and smelled ok, but the hallway made me want to cough.

The hotel is nothing to what it sells itself to be online. The rooms were outdated and had a funky smell. I had reservations for 4 days and immediately canceled after my first night. Nevr again will I stay there and I am informing all my friends and family so they dont have to go through what I went trough. They even chargerd me a cancelation fee, which […] I had them refunded back to me. That is one of there sneak up on you charges they try to pull. Unlucky for them I had rad all the policy terms involving a cancelation( customer has until 6pm of the day of stay to cancel without penalty fees). They had to refund my money. Mehr

I am a consistent traveler and I have been in cheap "Motels" on my choosing, bu twhen I booked this "great family suite" as described on they're website, it was the worst hospice experience in my life. The suites are nowhere as nice and family oriented as they advertise. The rooms are run down, the cleaning service is scarce, and the regular patrons […] are rowdy. It had a kitchen with cooking and eatng utensiles for two. The rate was very good.

This was my first time at an ES hotel and I was disappointed. I had to go to the front desk to get hangars for my clothes, two light bulbs needed changed, the carpet was stained in several areas and the kitchen counter was seperating. The TV was SMALL, no shampoo, lotion, or hair dryer. The staff were superb. Overall, I suppose it was OK for my purposes […] this trip but I expected more and I probably won't go back or recommend the hotel. Mehr

Have stayed at other hotels on Hotel Circle, and most are very noisy because the freeway is so close. Extended Stays is set back a bit, and if you get a room on the backside of the hotel, we didn't hear any freeway noise at all. Like this place and will go back.

Two star hotel with a tiny nearly useless kitchen.

We asked for two beds, ended up with one. We asked for a non smoking room and were given a smoking room with no other options and it was 10sent p.m. The shower didn't work... the TV had a green glare to the channels.

NO ROOM SERVICE,NO SHAMPOO OR CONDITIONER,ONE ROLL OF TOLET PAPER,IF NEED MORE,HAVE TO GO TO FRONT DESK AND ASK FOR MORE,I WONT EVEN GIVE THEM A STAR,NEVER AGAIN....HOTEL SMELLS LIKE CIGERETTS,ANDE A BANGING NOISE FROM DRAIN..DO I NEED TO SAY MORE..IT WAS VERY BAD....

There wasn't anything that would amaze you at this hotel however, we were only there for a night for the charger/viking game so we didn't require much. The price was pretty good and it was clean and it was very close to the trolly station which was all that mattered to us.

This has to have been the worst experience I have ever had staying in a hotel/motel. This hotel is in great need of repair and the bed was too hard to sleep on. Sheets not put on the bed correctly, tear in blanket, peeling bathroom paint, corroded sink knobs in bathroom. Overall, the room was decent. I sort of feel that our room was a bit overpriced seeing as how our kitchen wall had unknown food splatters all over it, we found a dead roach in our room, and the toilet bowl looked like someone threw up spaghetti all the time...even after it was flushed. We assumed it was what the bowl was made out of. Plus there wasn't […] free wifi, which isn't a deal breaker, but since our room was as expensive as it was, complimentary internet would have been nice. This has got to be the worse hotel that I have ever stayed at. They only clean the rooms every seven days. It is to hot in the summer to have to sleep on dirty sheets for seven days. Also i ask for at least clean towels everyday and I was told everyday that I was there they didn't have clean washcloths which is very unsanitary. I'm on vacation and paid […] good money for the hotel and had to buy washcloths so that we would have clean washcloths everyday. I have stayed at Extended Stay in Chicago last year by Midway Airport, and it was nice but San Diego never again. I have never wanted to leave a place so bad and continue my vacation somewhere else. It was truly a waste of money and of my time. Hope you learn from this review that you should have clean linen for your customers from now on. Mehr

We went to check in, our type of room wasn't available. We were told that as soon as one became available that they would call us. That never happened so we went back to the hotel around 6:30 - 7:00 p.m. They gave us a key and I told them that we had waited for our courtesy call which never came. We went to our room and just when we started to unpack, […] we opened up the bathroom and it was flooded. They said they had no other room to give us. They offered us 2 individual rooms and the 2nd room had a horrific smell like very strong mold. They told us we could have our card refunded back but it would be 10 days before we received the credit back on our card which left us with no funds for a different hotel. We had paid more to have a kitchen (which only was set up for a party of 2 but otherwise the kitchen was nice. It took over 2 hours before they came up with a different room. It was very frustrating as they said there wasn't any manager available to contact. Meanwhile there isn't any ice machine either in this hotel nor is there a pool or jacuzzi's or spa. We were sitting in a lobby with only 2 chairs and we had a party of 4 waiting for them to come up with a solution. I had booked this room way in advance and this is the first time for a stay in San Diego to go completely wrong. In today's economy, customer service is where it's at! I do want to say that the gentleman who was assisting us the 2nd time around remained courteous the whole time and stayed with it until they were able to give us another room. Mehr

From the beginning the stay was horrible. When I went to check in there was no line but the guy behind the desk just looked at me and stood there for a couple minutes before doing anything. The overall hotel was dirty, including the room, which also smelled. The bed was rock hard, I slept on top of the covers for the fear of what might have been under […] them. My non smoking room spelled so bad of smoke, there was pet hair in the room, and the bed was so uncomfortable, I didn't even sleep. I should have just slept in my rental car. I will never stay here again.

Good value for your money. Convenient distance from EVERYTHING.... Will come back again soon :)

My wife, sister, cousin and friends were in San Diego for the Rock n Roll Marathon. The marathon was great and it was a beautiful day, but for those who run marathons a good night sleep is extremely important. About 1 am our neighbor started a party, we called the front desk, 30 minutes later it was still going on. I called again and this time management […] said they were going to actually come to the room. We assumed that management called the first time and there was either no answer or the partiers refused to obey. At about 3am, the party started up again. We felt management did nothing to address our problem. Too bad, it was a good hotel, but we will never stay there again. Mehr

The room was relatively roomy withy a little kitchen area which i did not expect and was real happy with the hotel accomodations for the price.

A waste of my money. Wish I could get my money back because it smelled like smoke everyday I was there even though I paid for a non-smoking room. The bed was as hard as a rock and the TV was about as big as my laptop so I just used my laptop. No internet you have to pay to use it. All and all I will not stay here again at all. Keep low expectations. Staff is good, but in need of resources... Cant help abt it since Extended stay has definitely started to nickel and dime... Be patient. Good location to visit Seaworld and Zoo. nearest grocery - go to Target.

The location was very convienent but the hotel was a little old and was in need of some updates. good for the price but, the walls are very thin!

Very satisfied with my stay and so my family members have stayed at others and I was pleased with this one.

I was very disappointed in the service and accomodations. Room was clean, but outside was AWFUL. Trash accumulating, attracting bugs. I didn't realize that there was no room cleaning done unless you stay a week. It is supposed to come with kitchen supplies. Had 2 flimsy forks, knives, and spoons, nothing matching, and since we had to clean our own dishes, […] there was only one small packet of dishwashing soap.All in all, it was pretty sad. Mehr

This hotel is conveniently located in Hotel Circle, central to Mission Valley. We easily drove into downtown and the beaches. The halls REAKED of stale smoke. Thankfully, our room did not smell. It wasn't super clean, though. The walls and floor needed a good scrubbing. The kitchenette was perfect and the bed was adequate. The television was small, […] but did have cable. If you just need a place to crash, this will get the job done...but keep your expectations low. Mehr
