The hotel was very nice. The staff was great. The location was convenient. The room was exceptional.

The bed at the Westin Hotel is extremely comfortable. I haven't had good sleep like that in months. However for the price you are paying, I was hoping to get FREE WIFI service. The fee is $9.95 for the day. Parking on the weekends is relatively easy to find on the streets and its free. However, it may seem difficult if weekdays and probably best off […] with parking garage. I was very pleased with my experience at the Westin. Room comfort was excellent. We arrived two hours early and our room was ready for us. I had forgotten my contact lens case - I went down to the front desk and the shuttle took me to the CVS and waited for me. Restaurant was very good. This place was great. It was what you would expect in a luxury hotel.

Excellent place to stay while on business, very elegant and quiet, also had a garage if you drive your own car.

Hotel is new and beautiful. The hotel is a short walk to the Metro.

I am very glad we decided to stay at this hotel during our trip to the VA/DC/MD area. It was very close to DC and the national sites. I love staying at this hotel because of its great location. The parking costs are high to us, but it works well. The restaurant got an onslaught of convention people while we were there and the restaurant couldn't handle it. But I happen to know that the food is good. Normally the rooms are absolutely spotless, but a giant wad of hair ended up in my […] shower (and it wasn't mine), probably got caught up in the shower curtain. I had to rekey the card on day #2 which is tough when you've had a hard day. The location of the hotel is in a charming area that is loaded with great places to go for a walk or find other restaurant options. I'd still recommend this place and I know I'll be returning again. Whilst this property is situated in a rather bland part of Alexandria, the hotel itself is of the usual standard you'd expect from a brand name like Westin.

The disappointing service began with an unfriendly check-in clerk, who did not give us any information on the hotel ammenities. Especially annoying was that we were staying on the Club Level and he gave us no information on the lounge hours for breakfast or evening appetizers. There was no concierge available to assist with questions about where to […] eat, clubs or what to do while in Alexandria. The convenience store in the hotel was frequently closed and when asked why it wasn't open during the posted hours, a front desk clerk replied that he didn't know where the girl working there had gone to or when she would be back. The pool and hot tub had extremely odd hours (4 PM - 10 PM during the week) so we were unable to use them. When we called to the front desk to ask about the free hotel shuttle that goes into Old Towne Alexandria, we were told to come down and speak with the Shuttle Captain. Once downstairs, we were told by three different people to wait for the shuttle captain, but no one could tell us where he was or when he would be back. When he finally came back, he was extremely friendl. Since there was no concierge, and the others we asked the hotel about the area were not very helpful, there was also no one to tell us that Old Towne all but shuts down at 10:00 PM on a Thursday night (including restaurants and bars). The location was about 6 blocks from King Street (where the metro and Old Towne are located), so it wasn't overly convenient to resaurants and shopping. The next time I would stay the Embassy Suites or the Hampton Inn in Old Towne as they are more convenient. We chose the Westin since they are normally a more high end hotel with better amenities than the other two, but we were clearly disappointed by that choice. The various people the worked in the Club Level Executive Lounge were very fiendly and considerate. If staying at this hotel, which I would not recommend, I would suggest only staying on a Club Level. The rooms and the hotel were very Mehr

My family and I spent a week at Westin Alexandria. I have nothing negative to say about our stay. The only drawback is that is far from the downtown DC area and the local restaurants are often closed on the weekend for breakfast/lunch because it is predominately a business district. However, we found the Starbucks very convenient for breakfast and is […] on the way to the Metro. We also recommend the Whole Foods which is about 3 blocks away for breakfast or brunch. The Metro is only 3 blocks from the hotel along with the Amtrak Station. The cost of movies in the room was ridiculous but we were so tired after a day of sightseeing it did not matter much. The room service was also cost prohibitive. During the week there are several restaurants that offer breakfast for a much more reasonable rate. The rooms and beds were very comfortable and cozy. Enjoyed the multi-head shower greatly! Would definitely stay again. Mehr

There were several things wrong with our stay which led us to check out a day early. 1. We did not get the specific room we had requested when we made the reservation. 2. The A/C unit malfunctioned in our room and instead of moving us to another room we had to wait for an electrician to come fix it. 3. We called ahead for our car since Valet is the […] only way to park your car at the hotel and we had to wait for 30 minutes for someone to get our car. 4. The TV kept fading in and out. 5. The bed was extremely uncomfortable (There "heavenly" bed wasn't so "heavenly") 6. The hair dryer in the bathroom was broken and would only blow out cold air. 7. Everything was ridiculously overpriced. We paid $18.99 for a one-time movie rental. Bottled water in the room was $4, and the room-service menu was practically non-existent with what little you had to choose from and what they were charging for it. Trust me, do NOT go to this hotel. We would have been much happier if we would have gone to The Holiday Inn or The Hampton Inn. Mehr

This property is great. Close to the PTO and Federal Courthouse. Metro rail service and trolley to Old Town Alexandria are nearby.

I read many of the previous reviews for this particular hotel and had decided to book here due the requirements of our trip: family being nearby, convenience into DC. The positives: very clean and attractive hotel; the rooms were confortable (we stayed for five nights, as a family), the pool was convenient on the third floor for chilidren. A big plus […] was the neighborhood: there's a Whole Foods Market very nearby, as well as the King Street Metro stop. There are plenty of places to eat near the hotel as well as Old Town a bit further away. The Embassy Suites and Hilton were closer to the Metro Station, but depending upon what you think is a long walk, it's not tha big a deal. There is very little parking on the street and the valet parking nightly can be expensive for longer stays. However, we got around DC without a car with very little inconvenience. For the price, this Westin is a great choice. Mehr

Nice hotel just west of old town. The free shuttle to old town is 3 or 4 blocks away. Very clean, very quiet. Bath robes available upon request. The hotel restaurant was very expensive and parking's very expensive. I had the advantage of staying over a Saturday night so I parked on the street a couple of blocks away. Nice exercise facility. The valet attendants were very helpful and pleasant. The front desk associates were abrupt and not very friendly. We booked this hotel because it had a pool. However, the pool was small, cold and not very well maintained. The hotel advertised a hot tub. The hot tub appeared dirty. Guest under 16 years of age were also not allowed to go into the hot […] tub. The hotel's restaurant was very expensive. The hotel was within walking distance of the Metro station. Had a great time. Hotel close to alot of sites and had a nice little park right across from hotel just to sit and relax and people watch. Hotel staff very helpful and rooms were comfortable.

Clean, comfortable, modern, convenient, affordable- couldn't ask for anything more.

Nice hotel at a convenient location. Valet crew is not as polished as the rest of the staff but they were friendly enough.

Returning to the hotel everyday was refreshing; the lobby had a heavenly clean scent. The door men/valet service men were so nice and helpful. They met us with a smile every time! The beds were almost more comfortable than our beds from home (select comfort). I enjoyed the clean white sheets and comforters. The white towels were also nice. We are proud […] that the hotel takes part in a green effort and allows us the choice to have the towels cleaned or not (the perk was nice also)! The darkening shades/ curtains were helpful. We all slept well! My husband would have preferred a firmer foam style pillow, but I never thought to ask. We walked to the King St. Metro stop every day. It was about a 7 minute walk, but a nice tree lined, brick sidewalk walk. We relied on the Metro for most of our DC experience. We also found nice options for Breakfast along the walk; without going out of our way. Alexandria was so pleasant. The hotel even kept our things and car on the day we checked out which allowed us to go into DC for one more day! The hotel staff were informative and helpful with a genuine smile. The pool was refreshing and the whirlpool was hot and relaxing. I was a bit confused about the pool hours, but we only used the pool once. We might have used it in the evening if it was open longer than 10pm, but the hotel was just such a wonderful experience! We are glad that we made this choice! Mehr

Great hotel, very nice staff, very easy access to the metro, good restaurants (thai, seafood, deli's etc) close by off King Street with Dunkin' Donuts and Starbucks near for the morning jolt!

The Alexandria Westin is located in a very nice area of Alexandria and was an easy walk to the King St Metro giving access to everything in DC. There were many dining options within easy walking distance from the hotel. Delia's was our favorite, hands down. Whole Foods Market was a great breakfast spot. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. My daughters and I stayed here on our way home to Boston from South Carolina. We reserved through hotels.com only three hours before arriving and got a room on the 9th floor for a great price. It was a Saturday night, and when I came inside to check in, the woman at the desk nicely told me where to park on the street to save the $24 valet fee. Clean Room, Curtious Staff, Clean Lobby, 10min walk to Old Town Metro and Old Town Alexandria; Westin has a shuttle that will take you to the center of Old Town. 15min drive to DC. Exactly what we were looking for.

Perfect hotel for what we needed. Very clean and very nice hotel, close (within 10 min. walking distance) to the King street metro station. Very few places to eat in the area. We just ate in D.C.. Had a great time and will stay here again if ever in the area.

The service was very bad. To begin with the room was not clean, upon requesting room service we did not get any. The bathrooms was filthy and disgusting. The staff were completely oblivious of the things around them. Overall i would not recommend this hotel to anyone
