Calgary war für uns nur Durchgangsstation. Wir besuchten das Rodeo-Finale (Stampede) und hatten uns daher dieses Hotel zu super Konditionen über hotels.com reserviert. Sogar die Parkplatzkosten waren inkludiert (obwohl anders ausgeschrieben). Sehr großzügige Familiensuite mit 2 Schlafzimmern, sehr sauber, toller Ausblick ... also, für ein Stadthotel […] einfach TOP! Mehr

Das Hotel liegt im Herzen von Calgary, was fuer Geschaetsreisende sicherlich ideal ist. Wenn man aber nach einen langen Flug eine Nacht in Calgary verbringt, um am naechsten Tag in die Rockies zu fahren, dann stellt man fest, dass alle coffee shops in der naechsten Umgebung des Hotels am Sonntag geschlossen sind. Ich habe mich die 15 Tage sehr wohl gefuehlt. Das Fitness Angebot oder das Schwimmbad habe ich nicht benutzt. Einige Sachen waren renovierungsbeduerftig, z.B. loesten sich die Badezimmerfliesen vom Boden ab, sowie eine der Tuerrahmenleisten. Auch das Fesnter ging nur muehseelig aufzuschieben. Der Zimmerservice kam taeglich, um das Bett zu machen, das […] Bad aufzufrischen und sogar das zur Verfuegung gestellte Geschirr in der Kueche zu spuelen. Kabel-Internet war durchaus akzeptabel, WLAN dagegen ungesichert und etwas zu instabil. Die Suite war sehr geraeumig, Kabelfernsehen sorgte fuer Unterhaltung am Abend. So gut wie keine Laermbelaestigung (23. Stock) und ein grosses sauberes Bett liessen mich gut schlafen. Fruehstueck gut, Abendessen fuer die Lage relativ gut und guenstig und Angestellte sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Fuer 100 $ pro Nacht (Discount fuer Langzeitaufenthalt) und ausser Saison waermstens zu empfehlen !!! Mehr

Das Hotel ist ok,nur im Bad ist etwas Schimmel an der Badewanne und der Lüfter war doch sehr verstaubt.

Five Calgary Downtown Suites Hotel ist von der Lage in der Downtown optimal um die Sehenswürdigkeiten in Calgary auch zu Fuss zu besichtigen. Die Distanz zu den öffentlichen Verkehrsmittel ist klein. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Der Zimmerservice (Reinigung) lässt manchmal zu wünschen übrig ist aber überwiegend oK. Die Zimmer mit […] den Küchen sind zweckmässig eingerichtet und man findet alles notwendige. Die Fenster können geöffnet werden und man kann somit die Räume gut lüften. Das Business Center ist kostenlos und man findet alles was man benötigt. So konnte der Kontakt in die Heimat aufrecht erhalten bleiben. Das Hotel hat bereits ein gewisses Alter und dies sieht man der Ausstattung an. Preis/Leistung ist in Ordnung. Bei einem längeren Aufenthalt in Calgary Downtown würde ich wieder dieses Hotel wählen Mehr

The hotel was a wonderful place to stay in downtown Calgary. Parts of the building are a little dated but the lobby, our floor, and our room was well maintained and very kept very clean. The beds were very comfortable and the room exceptionally quite. I will definitely stay at this location again.

Lobby/Service - Lobby is modern and nice. I am disappointed with the service though. There was this older man who greeted me at the door and when I said I am checking in, he told me to wait in front of the reception desk and he went back to his computer in the corner. He said I had to wait for Bernard to come back. I'm like, what the hell...I was waiting […] almost 10 minutes, just standing there. All the while that older man was just clicking away at his computer. He did the same thing to another guest that walked in. I don't understand it...why could he not help us; what else is he doing that we have to wait for someone else to accommodate us? Rooms - outdated! Appliances are all old but they work, I guess. The hallway is always smelly - smells of stale food. When I first walked into my room I couldn't figure out where the lights are...I was flipping switches on/off - turns out all the lighting in the room are table lamps that you have to turn on individually. Sheets smell stale and not freshly washed. On my last evening I saw some red spots on the comforter - don't know if that's blood. There was also a creaking sound the whole time and I don't know what it is...very annoying though. You can also hear what your neighbors are doing in their rooms. Walls and ceilings are incredibly thin. They keep their rooms cold as well - I needed to wear a sweater/socks to keep warm. Restaurant (5th Avenue Grill) - Below average restaurant service. I only experienced breakfast there. When you walk in, it says "Please wait to be seated". Well, you sure wait! I've always had to stand awkwardly at the entrance before someone realizes that there is a customer waiting to be seated. Service is incredibly slow. The 3 waitresses always act rushed/busy but there are barely any customers in the restaurant. A few times I walked in without waiting to be seated and there are lots of dirty tables. Old, shabby, poor service, slow lifts, dirty rooms... the list is endless. I have stayed here numerous times because it was cheap and central. I will never stay there again. The last trip did me in. Specifically: The rooms are very old and very poorly kept. Think 1970's decor with minimal maintenance since. The bar/restaurant service is slow & uninterested; […] the food matches their attitude. The front office girl was the most rude and unprofessional person I've met ,in her position. The general manager was aggressive and rude,didn't listen and used threatening behavior. Housekeeping were helpful and efficient,restaurant was ok.Fitness centre/sauna closed. Overall I think it's a good idea to change it into private apartments unless they […] change some of their staff members!.... Mehr

The front desk staff was very helpful and friendly and except for some excessive dry cleaning charges because they did not explain that items would be sent and charged separately, it was a good stay. Housekeeping staff did not display sanitary practices while riding in the elevator and did not seem to care about cleanliness or appearances but most of […] them were friendly. If they can upgrade the rest of the hotel, it would be wonderful. The bed was new and comfortable but the carpet and furniture a bit old. No heat in my room. Was -30 outside. Horrible beds. I had a suite and even wouldnt even work.

This hotel is correct, convenient location, clean, good bed. I stayed there a couple of time. this time I didn't like the fact that housekeeping kept waked me up (8.30am, 10am - I was very tired and needed to sleep) especially when check out is at 11am.

The hotel is convieniently located downtown and close to C train and buses. The rooms were clean. They could use better lighting in the rooms. The kitchen was clean and stocked with the essentials for cooking. the fridge was full size, thanks. The staff was always courteous. The TVs could be upgraded sometime. We would stay here again.

Hotel was nice and spacious, very good customer service from Merlin at the front desk, he was exceptionally helpful and polite. Only negative was that there was not too many places to eat nearby but all in all would recommend this place for a family as there were 2 spacious rooms & a laundry to do your washing which is very handy.

Five has a great location, a small but adequate kitchen and has complimentary parking, but is dated. If you are looking for something plain Jane, but pleasant, this may be it.

Location is Downtown...but the heater in our room we couldnt adjust and it vibrated and made noises all night. The TV signal was horrific and the movies to rent were 16.99!!!! The restaurant downstairs had a water line that broke so it stunk like mold and water in the lobby. This hotel was like being in an Alfred Hitchcock movie!!!

Stayed two nights at this hotel. This hotel is in need of a serious upgrade. Most of the furniture, tv's etc are at least 20 years old. The kitchen fridge and stove probably date back to the 1960's. Only book if you get a great rate. Otherwise look elsewhere. On a happier note, the staff at the hotel were top of the line, helping resolve a couple of […] things throughout our stay. Mehr

The staff are friendly and professional. The service is excellent. However, the hotel decor seems dated but clean

This hotel needs updating very badly. The rooms are very outdated. The ventilation is terrible. The room was very very stuffy. It was not worth the price.

Very good location and lovely hotel. Is actually 3 and a half stars and is very luxurious. Don't have any complaints, would definately come back. Huge bedroom which had a kitchen in it too so couldn't have asked for more.

I know, I know, the hotel is a little tired, and with a bit of money and with some taste in colours it would be vastly improved...but it is very good value and the staff are excellent. You just have to blank out the bad bits. It is convenient, the bed is very comfortable and the rooms a a decent size. I have no hesitation in recommending it for a prudent […] traveller...whether I could say this in a year after another year's use is a different matter. Mehr

The room was spacious. Kitchen had glasses, plates, some cooking wears - it was decent. The bed cover was white, and it looked and felt clean. But the carpet was worn out and didn't look or feel clean. The washroom also looked rather dated (although clean and functional). Overall, if you are going to stay long and don't care so much about comfort […] but only function, it's good. We were there for a vacation, and for that, it wasn't the best hotel you can stay. Mehr

Older hotel and rooms are older, but clean & comfortable. Parking is a bit awkward because you have to come down a narrow and dark staircase and you wonder if you're going to be mugged. Hotel should clean that up and repaint so it doesnt look so grubby. Otherwise, the stay at the hotel was fine. Be prepared for an older room with older TV. The suite really needed updating. Furniture very used and rugs old and dirty. Bed sagged into the middle and really, they should buy some new comforters. I would not go back here. It even smelled moldy.

Room was very clean. Having a seperate room was nice. The beds were old and not very comfortable. Hotel staff was very nice. Food in the restaurant was okay, but overpriced and slow.

service mediocre, loud crossing right in front, TV not working but relativly cheap so all together a fair price for the room and the location

Hotel is older and in need of some upgrades. Rooms were clean; hotel staff was friendly. Restaurant food was good but a bit pricey.

We were very pleased with everything in the hotel and our suite, given the daily rate. Our only problem was unclean sheets on the sofa bed. The Manager did not return our first phone call, but when the cleaning staff came in, they did change the sheets when we asked.

For the price, the hotel was reasonably clean, and service was reasonable, but this hotel did not shine in any area. - Got a 2 BR suite which was really a 1BR with a bed in the living room too. - The Airconditioning was so loud it was unrelaxing being in the room when it run. - The doors to the bed room, bathroom, and closet were all no longer fitting […] right and would stick on the frame meaning you had to give them a good shove to open or close, and it was noisy. - TV sets are from the 80s I think -Pots and pans in the cupboard were dirty! (mold on one) - The air vent in the bathroom was caked with dust - There were a few notable signs of wear on the walls and edges of carpet. - Kitchenette was very dated - Bathroom had a wooden cover above the shower head (to fix a leak I assume from the floor above) - visible damage was very minimal but there none the less. - I had to get a new parking pass almost every day for one reason or another (lake of communication the first couple days, then an early expiry another day) - Elevators are tiny The price was fair, the location decent, the bed comforatable and the service ok so despite all the above, I would consider this place in the future if I was tying to save money - otherwise I would spend an extra $20-30/night and gat far far better elsewhere nearby. We found this hotel great in every respect. The location was very central to what we wanted to see, except for the Zoo we walked to everything No worry with the neighbourhood day or night Staff were very friendly & we would be happy to stay there again

Old rooms that are clean and in a great location. The rooms are large and have everything I need as a business traveler. Good value.
