Executive Keys Condominiums on the Beach - Port Aransas

Executive Keys was all that we needed for the time we were allowed. The room was more than adequate in size, but being an older facility, it was in need of upgrades. Location can not be beaten. The pool and beach access were phenominal. We had a great time and will probably stay there again.

I definitely got my money's worth for the room. It was like a home away from home. A few steps from the beach AND a pool to choose from. The only downer I found was that the pool was crawling with bugs of all sorts, but that's why you have the beach to go to right? I give Executive Keys two thumbs up!

It wasn't bad. The location was great. They never cleaned the room for two days, even after I called. Because I booked through hotels.com they didn't seem to be interested in offering much in the way of service.

We arrived on a Sunday afternoon and found the staff on duty very un friendly and unprofessional. The keys to our room did not work and had to go back to the office for another set. Asked for an ocean view like we requseted and the staff said it woild be anothr $100.00 a night and then asked to cancel the rest of our stay and staff told us to call the […] rental agency and they could not cancel for us. It was our honey moon and started off poorly. We ended up staying three nights and stayed out of the room most of the time. Mehr

Executive Keys Condos is a unique "hotel" environment and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! These are actual condo units, not your typical hotel with paper thin walls and tons of traffic up and down the halls. We had our 2 teenage boys down there for Spring Break and Executive Keys was the perfect location to hit the beach either by foot or vehicle. The […] BBQ pit area was a nice touch where we grilled up dead animal each night instead of the hectic town scene at some overpriced restaurant. Each unit had a great A/C, plenty of room inside, and we got ample use out of the full kitchen in each condo. The staff was super friendly. The "quiet time" after 10pm was greatly appreciated (even though we were partying it inside up till well after 2am). Just be respectful of the folks who actually live there and you'll be treated the same. We highly recommend Executive Keys and we will definitely be going back again! Mehr

Check in was friendly. Maid service was very attentive. I called front desk and requested a hair dryer and immediately got one. Fresh towels every morning. Quiet even during spring break. Very close to beach but no view.

The stay was nice and comfortable for the price.

Great location. My wife & I walked to the beach every couple of hours because it was so close. We had the worst location in the complex and still loved it! The room was unique (heating controls behind the fridge? 40 year old decor?), but the kitchenette complete with plates and utensils. Stay here!

Room was not up to current day standards; old tv, old bed, etc.. No hot water. Office closed at 5pm so could not get any help after hours. Bed very uncomfortable. It was reasonably clean. We left after one night... did not get any money back. (We had reserved it for 3 nights.)

It was a very comfortable stay very quiet and safe. The outdoor pool was heated and enjoyed by my daughter.

good location, nice facilities... but the mattress was very uncomfortable.

Walk to the beach was short, beach nice. The exterior of the buildings are dated but freshy painted. Our unit was very comftorble with flat screen tvs in the living and master bedroom.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Executive Keys and we have already told all of our friends about how convenient it was with beach access just right there! Stayed in 2 bdrm condo, great view, friendly, helpful staff. Loved the convienence of it's location to beach! Didn't want to leave but will most definitely be back.

Good location and pool. Not a very good mattress and did have roaches in the bathroom. This was out third stay there but will be our last.

I booked this condo based on the reviews of others. Having looked back at those reviews, it is clear that satisfaction level has to do with the particular unit rented. In our case, unit 103 efficency suite was a rat hole. The toilet stopped working and the inside parts had to be replaced. Luckily, the short hike to the clubhouse yielded happiness. The […] power on the east wall ceased to work after the first day so I had to reposition the kitchen table so I could plug the computer in. Internet service was poor. Kitchen was completely unsatisfactory. Only 2 forks to be had, no dishwasher, sink did not have a sprayer, no room to cook, microwave was a $38 special. Paper thin walss does not even describe the thunder that was pretty constant from upstairs and next door since it was the last week of summer. Towels were skimpy at best. Bed was tiny. Futon was falling apart. 19" CRT tv. "On the beach" refers to the units at the front of the complex. If you stand just so in front of our shack, you can almost see the roof of the beach side units. Unit 103 was as far away from the beach as you could get and still claim anything remote to the beach. In retrospect, we should have stayed at the Courtyard just 100 yards more up the road for more quality and better price. The grounds were very nice with lush grass and tropical plants. To be fair, we usually stay at other condos farther down Mustang Island but were trying to save a few bucks at the summer rates. If my wife would have allowed me, I would have checked out the same night we got there, moved to another condo and just taken the loss of 2 nights rental. It sucked just that bad for me. Luckily, the beach was phenomenol the days we were there albeit blazing hot. It would have been great to have a room to relax in that was confortable. If you stay, be sure to specify which room you will get including location in the complex. All of the other reviewers can't be wrong (unless they were schills) so it really must just come down to Mehr

My family enjoyed the closeness of the beach...which was within walking distance ....unfortunately the service and rooms can use an upgrade. My room was given to another person, and instead of getting my two twin bed as I had requested and paid for ... I received a single bed. Housekeeping skipped our room entirely the first day. The condos were very nice as well as the grounds and pool. I appreciated that the kitchen included silverware and a few pots and pans...we didn't cook anything but it was nice to have the option! Our rooms were just a short (2 min.) walk to the beach which made it nice plus they had plenty of outdoor showers to rince the sand off your feet before going […] back inside. The beach by theses condos wasn't crowded at all and pretty much seemed like it was all families. we loved that because we had our own section of beach to make sand castles and lay our stuff out without anyone bothering it. If you're looking for condos to come party in, these aren't for you! These condos are also just off of the main road so they are super close to town and all the shopping and resturaunts. It only took us maybe 5min to get anywhere from our room. Overall we were very please and plan on staying there again next summer! Mehr

We had a great three night stay in Port A at Executive Keys condos #202. It was great with every item needed that I could think of available. All of the staff we met and/or talked to were also great. Good Location on the Beach. Room was enough for a weekend stay.

This is a mid-priced condo that I would be happy to use again. Room was clean, bed was good, and the best part, it is close to the beach. It is about a 3-4 drive into Port A which was just fine with me. It took us out of the line of fire of shopping and all the noise that will follow. We enjoyed our stay, the entire place was a great location and had a lot to offer. The air conditioner would either run constantly or not at all, it was difficult to maintain a comfortable temperature. The water in the shower was very quirky. The sinks were all fine. When we would shower, the hot water was scalding and the cold water was no help. We […] had to constantly adjust and either get burned or take a cold shower. The water pressure was also very low. These are important factors when we spent the day out in the sun and sand and need a clean and comfy shower at the end of the day. We were very pleased with our stay. The young lady at the front desk was very welcoming. Our room was very roomy and comfortable. The bedrooms and bathrooms were spacious and very clean. The only complaint we had was that the floors were gritty with sand. The grounds were lush and beautiful which is not easy in south texas. We had a nice view of the […] beach from the balcony. We stayed here for two nights. It was kind of crummy but hey we payed a lot less than normal for it. We really enjoyed the pool area and the beach access. The rooms only need minor work.

Walking distance to the beach, even with small children. The accommodations were spacious and comfortable. Staff we encountered were very nice. Nice touches to the place such as a lot of green space for play/relaxtion. Swing set on site was great for kids.

Great place to stay, within walking distance to the beach, clean, perfect for families, we will definitly be going back this summer!

Great location on the beach, spacious, clean and FUN!

I was totally surprised by the amount of room in the efficiency I rented. The cleanliness of the room, the pool, and the grounds was outstanding. The staff was friendly and helpful. All in all, a good stay, that I look forward to repeating soon.

When our family was there in April I was in a bind with my rental car. The housekeeping and maintenance staff went out of their way to help us. I was impressed with their genuine kindness and concern.

Executive Keys is a hit or miss deal because they are individually owned condo's. From the looks of it ... we stayed in a unit that screamed slumlord from the 1980's.

We very much enjoyed our stay in EK. It was so convenient to the beach. We were right on the access road and could just just a few years and we were driving on the beach. We had a couple of maintenance problems the first day. We found the freezer wasn't freezing so we had no ice. They offered to either move us to another condo or provide us with free […] bags of ice each day. We chose the bags of ice which was really convenient for taking to the beach. The second was that we had no hot water and that was fixed right away. The entire staff was super friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. Only bad thing was the bed was extremely uncomfortable. All in all I would stay there again. Mehr

i would advise that one stay clear of unit #101. The bed is AWFUL!! The owner has been told this for several years, but no change. We also found it difficult to adjust the temperature of the shower. Not being from Texas, we were not aware of the huge piles of seaweed that we would have to walk over to get to the Gulf. Yuck! The hotel is close and convenient […] to the beach and only 1-2 miles from the main village. It was OK, but a comfortable bed would have made it much more enjoyable! Mehr

We enjoyed our stay here and recommend it to others. The only reason I rated "cleanliness" a 3 was because there wasn't any maid service, replacing towels and that sort of thing, but it was a minor issue because they brought us more towels and an extra pillow and blanket quickly without fuss. The little kitchen was well set-up and we appreciated the […] full-size refrigerator since we had a lot of fish to store and that saved us from having to keep it in the cooler overnight! There's a great little playground and a BIG pool for those (like me) who don't like to swim in the ocean. It was about a block from the beach so very convenient to that, too. All in all, this was definitely a great place to stay and a great bargain too. We'll happily stay here again the next time we go deep sea fishing! Mehr

The Keys is an older property but very well maintained. Had we flown in, we could have walked from the airport to the property which is located at Beach Access Rd 1A. The city beach is just over the dunes via their boardwalk. We stayed in an efficiency. The room was very clean and well stocked with dishes kitchen necessities had we desired to cook ourselves. […] (Are you kidding?) They have tankless water heaters so hot water was abundent although the bathroom would have benefitted from an exhaust fan. Overall, a very pleasant stay and we'd recommend it to our friends. Mehr

So close to the beach, at night sitting out on the balconey you can hear the surf! It was just an awesome experience for my wife and I. Very clean, located to anything and everything in Port A.. We were very Happy, Thank You

We stayed for three nights at the beginning of November, and though the weather didn't totally cooperate (woke up to a mini-hurricane on our second day), we loved our stay. We stayed in one of the studio/efficiencies and it was perfect for the two of us. There are, what, eight buildings or so that make up the complex, and ours was the farthest from […] the beach, but it was still only 150 yds or so to the private boardwalk that crosses the small line of dunes down to the beach, and we didn't mind the walks across the grounds (which were immaculate). At this time of year, there weren't a lot of guests or mosquitoes. Parking was free and convenient. The room itself was very clean and comfortable. It was simply furnished, but we were fine with that. The shower was good, the refrigerator was cold, and so was the A/C. The complex is located on the southern end of the Beach Road (which is just a packed-down strip of sand between the dunes and the beach that you can drive your car on for 2-3 miles; it was awesome!). So it was all of a 5-minute drive into town. I could see check-in at Executive Keys being a little tricky--it doesn't officially begin until 4pm, but the office closes at 5pm, so not a large window--however we were alerted by previous reviewers, so we had no problem. The place was very nice, grounds were well kept, friendly people, great roomy room, very comfortable bed and I love having the kitchen, saves on money for going out. Very quite area. GREAT LOCATION! Right on the beach and by the area were you can drive on the beach. I would defintely go back and stay here. Loved It!

The property extends all the way to the beach road, so you can't get any closer without camping on the beach! Our unit was at the far end, but no only 3-4 minutes walk to water's edge. Room was clean, well furnished, cable TV, etc. Shower just inside entry (very smart!). We could have paid more to stay at a place 4 or 5 blocks farther away from the […] beach, so I thought the price was a good value. Mehr

Everything about the Executive Keys in Port Aransas, Tx was great. The only thing that kept it from getting 5s was that the sheets were worn out and did not stay on the mattress. So they kept bunching up under me. That is a pet peave of mine. Everything else great.

Loved this condo! Cute, simple condo - who needs a fancy condo when going to the beach anyway, it's all about location! We loved this condo and would definitely go back again!
