"The Isle"
The condition of the hotel itself was good, however the shower was very slow draining. Obviously, that's something that can be fixed. The only real issue was that the sheets smelled of cigarette smoke...which I cannot stand. The staff was extremely helpful when it came to finding taxis, etc.

"Isle Casino"
We went there as an overnight trip so the kids could swim. The pool was FREEZING! The front desk was alerted, and supposedly it would be adjusted, but never was. The hot tub had so much chlorine it burned your eyes just sitting there. We tried to swim the next day, and it was just as cold. The staff was not very welcoming. When we were leaving I was […] carrying my baby, bags, etc. Hands completely full. The man (working at the Isle) standing at the door obviously saw I was struggling & he preceeded just to stand there as I kicked the door open my self. After being awoken at 8 a.m. for a false fire alarm, I was ready to go! The only good part was the buffet. We ate there dinner and lunch. It was amazing!! Mehr

"Dated"
Hotel is dated. The furniture is older and not great quality. Shower was cold, towels were sandpaper. The other casino/hotel in town is much nicer at a similar price.
"Isle in Bettendorf - friendly, comfy bed, smelly"
Staff was very friendly. Room was cozy. old TV(I stayed in the Classic room - older room). Bed and beddings were pretty awesome only thing is... some parts of the room smelled like armpits. I couldn't queit pinpoint the exact location but I think near the tv cabinet, for some reason, I thought I was going to puke because of the smell. But besides that, […] the casino and the rooms were okay - I will definitly stay here again - just will be staying away from that room I stayed in OR away from the TV. Mehr

"inexpensive but nice"
The hotel room was clean, hotel staff allowed a late check out, casino was SMALL, but it was comfortable and quiet. Location was convenient and easy to find. Would consider staying there again if I go back to the area.
"Nice Place to Stay"
The hotel was very nice. Everything was clean and new. The bed was very comfortable and the view of the river was very nice from my room. The casino was ok. They didn't take credit cards at the bar which was strange and the casino wasn't very big but it was pretty nice overall. The buffet was decent for the price $12.
Room/beds were comfy and clean, what more can you ask for?!
The staff was very accomadating and helpful. Easy to get to. We had an emergency and they helped us find the emergency room easily and quickly .
Was in the hallway by the pool-very loud with kids running up and down the hall most of the night.

Hotel staff not friendly. Gave the impression were were putting them out by asking questions. Both tower lobby's smell horrible from casino smoke. Room in the tower furthest from the casino was "okay" but we left feeling like all of our clothes smelled like smoke. "The Isle of Capri in Bettendorf, IA"
When we arrived to our room, we found the toilet was dirty, there were brownish/orangish stains on the bottom of the tub and gum on the carpeting. Housekeeping took a look around and promised that someone would get back to me. Guess what? After asking the front desk daily, no one ever took the time to get back to me and the staff (front desk) made me […] feel like I was putting them out by just asking a question. We chose to stay at the Isle of Capri instead of where our conference was so we could spend our spare time in the casino. I have learned my lesson and will stay awhere our annual conference stays. "I've had better..."
My stay at this hotel was not a postive one. My room was horribly outdated, the carpet was coming up off the floor, and although I asked for a non-smoking room...and the door had a non-smoking sign, the room reeked of smoke. There was no way to open the windows, and the windows were filled with cob webs. At least the sheets and bathroom were clean. The room was a little run down for the price but it was very close to the I-Wireless Center. And becuase it was attached to the casino it had a late-night dining option.

I did not like this hotel at all! First my room smelled like cigarettes even though it was a non- smoking room and then I find this weird looking box in the bathroom which I later found out was a needle dispenser! I travel for work all the time and have stayed at numerous hotels and have never seen anything like this, so I don't know, maybe it's a law […] in Iowa or something but let me tell you, it was not a pleasant thing to find in your bathroom. The bathrooms were ok, but you could tell they basically had a paint job over them. The bed sheets were stained and I even found someone's hair in my bed. The overall scent of this hotel is just muggy and old. I think they should really consider re- modeling this place and maybe making it more modern as well. For the price I paid I could've stayed at a Marriott and expect much more than what I got here. Mehr

I thought I'd try Isle, but it lived down to the poor reviews. Average at best and not a good value for the price.

Well I made reservations for a king size bed and got a 2 queens, my husband is 6'5 and this is why we needed a king size bed. The room smelled like cig smoke horribly. Not what we asked for, not a happy customer. We have stayed there 4 times in the past and never had this issue. Guess 5 times there is are limit. NEVER AGAIN!!!!

"Isle Casino Hotel for Augie Graduation"
We needed to stay in the Quad Cities area for our son's graduation from Augustana College in Rock Island. The Isle Hotel was very convenient, being just across the river. We thought that staying at a casino would be fun, but not the focus for our stay. The casino was fine for a small riverboat casino, and I liked the $5 minimum Blackjack. But, my wife […] would have like a larger selection of slots... There were only 2 negatives for our stay: 1) there were no smoking rooms available even though we requested one at the time of the reservation, 2) it was painfully slow to get a plain cup of coffee at the 3rd floor grille. Overall, it was a pleasant experience and would recommend to anyone not expecting a high-end property. Mehr

We were supposed to have a room with two beds but only got one (and a pull out couch). The room was not very fresh, the carpet was dirty and the curtains had stains on them. This was in the south tower of the hotel and we only stayed there to be nearer to the pool for the kids but would recommend staying in the North tower where the rooms are newer […] and still being maintained. "Isle of Carpri"
The north tower is preferred as it is further from the casino. The smell of cigarette smoke from the casino is very noticeable throughout the entire hotel complex but gets much stronger toward the casino. This is the only real knock against staying here.

The Water backed up in the bath tub. There was a "sharp trap" left in the bathroom? The pool/fitness area was closed. Long wait for a pizza at one of the restaurants. Non-smoking room was smoky
"YUCK!!!!"
We were supposed to be in the North Tower and they put us in the South Tower instead. They did give us an upgrade if that is what you want to call it. The room was more like a suite with a couch and 2 chairs which was nice. It also had a small fridge. That is the ONLY good thing about it. It was filthy!!! The linens had huge rips in them. The carpet […] was disgusting and there were burn holes on the furniture. The room stunk horribly. I pulled out the couch to plug in my laptop and there was GARBAGE under the couch. Not just a paper actual garbage. I was very excited to stay here. I have visited the Isle in Waterloo which was very nice so this was a HUGE disappointment. "Don't Expect Room Service"
Our room was very comfortable and the hotel property well taken care of. The hotel restaurant Calypso is buffet only and no room service was offered. This was an unpleasant surprise. Also, because the breakfast buffet ends at 10am, and the Sunday brunch starts at 11am, we were stuck waiting for an hour before we could eat. Also a surprise.
"Room was great but the pool was freezing"
Had a lovely stay. Very nice room and beautiful view and a great rate. The room was very nice as well as the attached casino and the surrounding neighborhood was unremarkable, in that it is the typical convention center district. The pool was freezing cold though. Our kids were a little disappointed that it was so cold.

I stayed here because of business, not for the casino. While the room was large and the bathroom was clean, everything else was quite rundown. Even the furniture had stains on it (I don't think I won't to know how that happened). The staff was fine and if the casino holds appeal this is a decent place. "Isle Hotel...Horrible experience"
I was very disappointed with my stay at the hotel. Front desk was fine but the hotel itself is trash. I could not believe the condition of the interior. As I walked to my room I noticed trash in the hallway...it remained there for two days. No towels were in my room, except a hand towel, which I did not realize until getting out of the shower. The curtains […] had huge brown stains in them and the carpet was literally falling apart. The room was dirty and dingy. As I got into bed that evening I noticed pink lipstick on the sheet, gross! I was in town for a funeral and I hope I never have to return!!! Mehr

"Great beds!"
I sank into the bed and felt like I was in a dream - soft, overly stuffed comforters... fabulous room... just one problem: it was cold when we arrived - the heating unit needed maintenance - but the maintenance guy was up in 5 minutes and fixed everything for us. Overall, it was a great place to stay - plus go to the casino first, sign up for player's […] plus and get a coupon for the buffet! Mehr

"Isle Casino, Bettendorf - definitely recommend"
I booked this hotel based on the very good reviews it received, and it deserves all the praise it has got. I note that some of the moaners grumbled about the walk from the newer tower to the casino or to the restaurants, so I timed myself (I'm 59yrs old, with Asthma, so no spring chicken) from the lift(elevator) to Calypso's Buffet. It was a mere 2 […] minutes 10 seconds TO the restaurant, and 2 mins 20 back FROM the restaurant, after a right good feed. So ignore anyone moaning about this. I also deliberately tried to sniff for tobacco smoke, to see if the other moaners who mentioned this have a point. THEY DON'T. The only place where I could smell smoke was in the casino itself. NOT in the corridors, or in our room, or in any other public areas. Ignore this type of moan too. I can only repeat the compliments regarding the rooms; ours was just as good as expected. We ate in the Calypso's Buffet for our evening meal, and for breakfast. The quality was excellent, perhaps the range was not as broad as one might expect in Las Vegas, but the quality was every bit as good, and certainly the desserts had more of a home-cooked feel or taste to them. In summary, we detoured on our itinery purely to stay here, and I am so pleased we did. Mehr

"My stay"
I enjoyed my stay, the hotel was very very clean and the Employees were very very helpful. Everything I needed was right there for me and more. I would definitely stay there again.
"Gambling with Retirees"
If you like gambling with Retirees in a small room with lots of slot machines, this is the place for you. (My husband and I are in our early forties) We were told ahead of time to make sure that we stayed in the newer tower (Palm). Nevertheless, they put us in the old tower and it was not well-kept. We complained and were immediately transfered to the […] new tower, which was lovely. Everything closes around 9pm except for a "grille", which was actually a step-up-and-order counter with very little to offer. I liked that from 10pm to 12pm that is was adult swim only.
