Auf den ersten und auch zweiten Blick ein sehr schönes Hotel. Auf den dritten Blick ist der Lack leider etwas angekratzt: in den Ecken löst sich Tapete, das Bad nicht heizbar und da das Fenster zum dunklen Innenhof rausging, war das Zimmer auch tagsüber sehr finster. Lüften ging leider auch nicht, da in besagtem Innenhof auch die Abluft aus der Küche waberte. Schade, die Makel sollten bei dem Preis nicht drin sein. Da aber sonst alles stimmte und vorallem auch der Service super war (Check-out standardmässig erst um 12, kostenlose Gepäckaufbewahrung, Tee und Kaffee im Zimmer, super freundlich) waren wir dennoch zufrieden und würden wieder kommen. Nur nicht mehr ins Zimmer 224.

Schlafen- wieso ? Der Speiseraum im EG wird Nachts bis 2 oder 3 Uhr zur Disco. Die "Bässe" lassen das alte Haus zittern. Drunter und drüber liegen "Schlafsäale"- deren Lüftung tagelang nicht funktioniert. Von Saal zu Saal touren Kleingruppen furzender und rülpsender Jungmänner - ihre Notdurft verrichten aber nur wenige von ihnen mitten im Schlafbreich, […] kotzen kann "Mann" natürlich viel besser wenn man sich am Bettgestell festhält! Die Security schaut nur draussen sorgfältig nach dem Rechten. Bettwäsche und Sanitäreinrichtungen sind sauber. Mehr
"Genügend für einen kurz Trip"
Das Hostel genügt zum übernachten wen man auf einer Stadt Tour von London ist und zum schnellen übernachten. für einen längeren Aufenthalt würde ich ein anderes Hotel bevorzugen. Ansonsten vileicht etwas mehr auswahl beim Frühstück etwas wenig vorhanden.
Eindeutig zu laut. Konnte in der ersten Nacht kaum schlafen. In der zweiten hatte man sich schon daran gewöhnt. Türen sind sehr laut somit nie Ruhe in der Nacht. Außedem gab es nur eine toilette auf unserem Flügel. Gut für partygänger die in der nacht eh nicht schlafen wollen. Absolutely to loud. Couldnt sleep in the First Night, in the Second i was […] used it à Little Bit. The Doors are really loud so there was Never silence in the Night. Furthermore there was just One Toilette in our Part of the floor.Good for partypeople which don't want to sleep in the Night anyway. Mehr
"Nicht empfehlenswert"
Schon der Eingang des Hostess liess uns nichts gutes erahnen: Eine Lobby in Neon-Licht und Alu-Platten gehalten. Das ganze Hostel an ein Gefängnis erinnernd: Grelle Farben, lange Gänge, die Zimmer mit grossen auf Wänden gemalten Nummer angeschrieben. Das Personal war freundlich und aufgestellt, jedoch laienhaft organisiert: Unsere Buchung hatten sie […] verschlampt. Aus einem bestellten (und im Vornherein bezahlten!) 4-Bett-Zimmer wurde ein 3-Bett-Zimmer, welches direkt über der Bar lag. Der Teppich schmutzig und schlecht riechend. Die Betten nicht stabil aussehend. Immerhin waren die Leinenlaken sauber. Sauber waren auch die Badezimmer. Der Föhn darin leider kaputt. Zu beachten gilt es auch, eigene Tücher mitzunehmen: Möchte man welche im Hostel erhalten, bezahlt man einen Zuschlag von 3 Pfund - erhält sie jedoch zu Eigentum. Bis um 2 Uhr früh dröhnte laute Musik durch das ganze Gebäude: Hit-Parade mit vielen Beats. An Schlaf ohne Ohropax konnte kaum gedacht werden. Das Frühstück einfach: Toast und Tee. Internetzugang war gratis. Angeboten wurde zu einem Preis von 1 Pfund pro halbe Stunde auch die Benutzung interner Computer, welche gut funktionierten. Fazit: Eine Unterkunft für Reisende mit sehr tiefen Ansprüchen. Das nächste Mal in London buche ich ein günstiges Hotel. Das Generator-Hostel besuche ich nie mehr. Mehr

und deutliche Unterschiede bei den Zimmern: Dorm im Keller - laut in der Nacht, aber günstig und sauber. Doppel - und Dreibettzimmer im 4.Stock mit Waschbecken, sauber. Gratis Wi-Fi. This youth hostel is a good place to be, showers and toilets are often checked and are usually very clean. The hostel is situated in a convenient area, 10 minutes walk to euston station and not far from Kings Cross/St Pancras. The city center (Leicester square for example) is only a few underground stops away. Rooms are clean and spacious, whether you […] are in a double room or share with many more people. The price is very decent too. However, wherever you are in the hostel, you will need earplugs as you can hear quite clearly when people are talking outside your door and the sound of banging doors will disturb your sleep. It would be nice to have a double bed or 2 beds in the double room instead of a bunk bed, even though it would make the room much smaller. A good place to stay overall….with earplugs! Mehr

"Very good location"
The Hostel was perfect. The staf was very friendly. Very good price including breakfast. The bathrooms was very clean and also the room was quite. Good value for money. Very close to tube station.

Well located for the younger end but great facilities ideal place to crash after watching the football.
"Exactly what I expected"
No problems, staff were very friendly. Only problems I had were because of unavoidable issues because it's a hostel (people moving around at strange times at night). Location is excellent for many people, including myself on this trip. Would have been nice to know I needed a padlock for a locker in the room before I got there, but only cost about £3 […] from the hostel's own shop. All in all, good value for money. "Generators: Siplmy the PERFECT hostel"
I arrived to Gerators on my own expecting to sleep in a room with any kind of people, find dirty and broken bathrooms and showers, and a bad service as well. But the reality was completely different: the place was full of young nice people. The bathrooms of course were shared among an entire floor, but they were very clean, and nice to use. I liked […] the showers because they were individual (privacity/intimidity), and even being shared showers, they provided enough water, and regulated the temperature well. For who said in their comments that they complained about the showers, I have to say that they haven't seen any shared showers ever in their entire lifes. Of course they're not like an individual shower at a hotel, but they're great for being shared showers. The personal of the hostel couldn't have been better. At least in summer, when I went there. About the security of personal belongings, I have to say that of course, you cannot leave all your things spread arround yoour room like if you were in a room on your own, but they had individual lokers/rollong jails under the beds to leave your things there. In my opinion, it was very well in overall. It had good underground connections, there was a lot of security at night (nobody was able to enter, even into the surroundings of the hostal, without it's entrance card), finally the service was good, the food was good, there're computers where you can have internet acces. I loved it, I recomend it, and I'm sure that I will go back more than once. There is no indigents sleeping there. This was one of the things i was most affraid of, but the only thing I saw were young people at the most, some adults travelling on their own, and even two or three families. In one word PERFECT. There was people from all the corners of Europe. Very cosmoplita. PS: Thre's one more thing about this place, they have a small bar inside only for people inside the hostel, and I have to say that it's great. You can spend a good night there, any Mehr

We are two guys that decided to spend a weekend in London. We took a two bed room with shared shower and included breakfast. The room was clean and big enough maybe 12-15 sqm. The showers were clean and always available. The breakfast was a sufficient buffet of cereal with milk, bread butter and coffee. Close to russel square and the brittish museum. "Generator Hostel London - Perfect if you're poor"
For such a cheap hostel it was near-perfect. The hotel is located 2 minutes walk from an underground station and 10 minutes walk from King Cross train station. The staff were very nice and helpful and the hostel's shop included everything I could possibly need. The hostel has an all-night pub of its own and its prices are pretty good; a bit more expensive […] than the usual pubs but it's a hostel after all, I expected worse. The only down side was that the rooms were overly hot and I was sweating at night even when it was raining. Mehr

"watch out from robbers at this hostel"
we were robbed at the hotel. I went to take a shower and put my backpack in the bathroom with my passport, camera, and such in it. A man came in and saw that my backpack was not attended he then sent a girl in and she stole my passport. I had to go the U.S. Embassey and make a new passport. The place is nice but be very careful when staying at this […] location. When I went to the police to make a police report the first thing he said are you staying at the generator hostel, so I guess this happens more often than I thought. Si vous vous prenez pour un roi cet hôtel n'est pas pour vous, en revanche pour ceux qui "ne se prennent pas la tête" c'est parfait. Personnel sympa, petit dej' compris, soirée en semaine et surtout...PROCHE de la gare St Pancras ce qui est parfait pour tous les arrivants par l'eurostar ^^

Vi åkte 4 tjejer för att shoppa i London. Det gick bra att gå hela vägen till shopping gatorna, och det var ett bra kvater vi bodde i. Det var trevlig personal, och vi var även ute för att kunna festa lite. Det gick kanon bra, och vi lämnade inte hotellet alls på kvällen. Baren var jätte bra. Hotellfruktosten var ett stort plus då det var buffe. Rekomenderar […] verkligen detta till andra människor, bra läge bra pris. dock inte så jätte sköna sängar, men det överlever man ;) Det blev den sjukaste resan någonsin, totalt flippad med helt underbart bra, vi älskar London :D Mehr

sono andato diverse volte al generator london, e mi sn trovato sempre molto bene. stavolta ero al quarto piano. sconsiglio le ultime camere in fondo al corridoio sono distanti dai bagni ed è scomodo x la doccia. i bagni grandi maschili erano sempre ostruiti (nonc uranza dei clienti, interi rotoli dentro i wc) ma erano puliti + volte al giorno. ottima […] colazione, + abbondante delle ultime volte che ci sono stato e con più scelta (ottimo il succo di mela e i panini). fanno un ottimo caffè al bar, a 0.99p. personale molto gentile e sempre a disposizione. posizione cedntralissima, a 5 minuti dal british museum e a 5 minuti di metrò da tutte le attrazioni più interessanti di londra. "AUBERGE TOUT A FAIT ADAPTEE AUX FAMILLES MEME AVEC"
agréablement surprisepour une auberge. Je craignais le bruit car nous voyagions avec une enfant de 5 ans. Nous avons donc demandé àêtre placés loin du bar et de la boite de nuit. On nous a placé au 3ème étage donc aucun soucis.

Billigt men INTE bra, luktar mögel, smutsiga toaletter/duschar. Disco hela nätterna, det är lyhört, så vi fick oss knappt en blund då det lät som om musiken spelades i vårat rum. Enda positiva var priset och att det ligger ganska centralt!

Man skulle kunna tro att det är störande att bo här, men vakter såg till att det var lugnt och tyst både inom och utanför byggnaden på kvällar och nätter. Vi bodde i ett eget dubbelrum så vi kan inte säga hur det är att dela boende i större sovsal. Mindre än 5 min gångväg från russel squere tunnelbanestation. Very kind staffs at reception. Good location. Good for price. Toilet in the mortning at first it was alright but later all were blocked, it was so bad. 직원들은 친절함. 위치는 좋음. 가격대비 OK. 아침에 화장실 이용할 때 처음에는 괜찮았으나 1시간 뒤에 변기가 다 막혀 있었음.

Extremt prisvärt vandrarhem som ändå inte på något sätt är dåligt! Trots det underbara priset och det bra läget ingick frukost. Jag har inget dåligt att säga om vandrarhemmet, det är det ultimata för en backpacker i London med tight budget. Även saker som de kan ta bra betalt för, typ handdukar, väljer de att sälja till riktigt bra priser. Det är även […] roligt att det finns saker att göra på vandrarhemmet och att det inte bara är en sovplats, till exempel har de en egen nattklubb och arrangerar pokerkvällar. Tack för en fin vistelse! "Rapport qualité prix correct pour Londres"
Bon accueil mais bcp de monde donc check in très long. J'ai bien dormi (avec des boules Quiès), literie confortable. Peu d'espace dans la chambre (dortoir mixte 5 lits). Il y a des placards (style casiers piscines) pour mettre en sécurité les affaires perso. Il faut amener un verrou. Pas mal de services dans l'auberge (rechargement portables payants, […] bar, visite touristique gratuite...) Le personnel fait sans arrêt le ménage donc c'est propre, pour autant que la clientèle fasse un minimum attention ! Niveau intimité c'est pas le top mais c'est une auberge de jeunesse donc c'est normal. Bonne situation géographique à 10 mn à pied de King's Cross (arrivée Eurostar), quartier de Soho... Petit déj inclus mais bof (pain de mie 1er prix) et beurre salé (quand on n'aime pas :/) + mais choix en céréales (pas gouté me concernant). Bon café (quand il en reste !). Dans l'ensemble pour le prix payé vraiment correct. Mehr

Ankom sent på kvelden, ble møtt av noen hyggelige vakter på utsiden som sjekket papirer etc. Ga oss en følelse av sikkerhet og trygghet. Var en god atmosfære, hyggelige mennesker, stort bad og gode senger. Vi bodde på 12manns rom. Har ligget på mange hostel rundt i verden, og må si at jeg var svært positivt overrasket over dette. We were in London to learn new old things about history (high culture) and have fun (evening program). We stayed in Generators 4-man-room which reminded us of a room on a ferry but offered a nice sleep. The hostel was located quite central, we even walked home from a night out in a club (somewhere between covent garden and leicester square) and it took […] less than half an hour. The staff was very kind and helpful and we found the breakfast all right. The bar at hostel was a pleasant suprise, we used to start our evenings there playing table soccer, having cold beer (not always the case in london) and even meeting nice people like us, with whom we even went then later to the city. All in all the generator hostel offered a very nice and practical stay really worth the price. I guess we wouldn't go there with kids but for all the rest open-minded it is very recommandable. Mehr
"La anarquía social..."
He estado en muchos albergues en mi vida, y dado que el GENERATORHOSTEL. se define como tal, puedo afirmar que no he visto nunca una cosa como tal ; para empezar tienen una discoteca no insonorizada, donde hacen fiestas especiales, lo que supone soportar chunda, chunda hasta las tantas; Las puertas de las habitaciones, parecen sacadas de un centro carcelario, […] puertas pesadas de hierro o chapa, que cada vez que uno entra/sale de la habitación resulta un portazo que despertaría a la misma bella durmiente. Un total pasotismo ante el inadecuado comportamiento de sus huéspedes, que durante mi estancia en este lugar se componía mayoritariamente de gente muy jóven que yo puedo comprender que tengan otros gustos, y horarios: esparcir sus ropas, sucias y limpias por todo el habitáculo sin tener en cuenta que lo comparten con otras nueve personas, entrar y salir a horas intempestivas sin tener en cuenta a las otras personas, celebrar fiestas en sus cuartos, cantar a grito pelado o correr por los pasillos a las tantas de la mañana, despertarse a medianoche para chatear o vaya usted a saber qué con su portatíl................. El servicio de lavandaría se componía de cuatro lavadoras fuera de uso y unas secadoras que no tengo muy claro hasta que punto secaban..... Un aspecto positivo : Los baños, hay que resaltar que estaban muy limpios. Sin embargo, el aspecto de las moquetas de habitaciones, así como los aspectos de los comedores y en general....Me recordaba más aún alberque social que a un albergue turístico.... El personal de atención directa correcto, sin más. Claro que como todo el mundo acepta que los alojamientos para turístas en Londres tienen que ser cutrísimos/cutres/o supercaros...pues a lo mejor no debemos quejarnos. Pero sinceramente, con lo que mi pareja y yo hemos pagado cada uno por una cama-litera en una habitación compartida con otras nueve personas, en España hubieramos tenido una habitación con baño bastante digna.........pero como decía un guía turistico q Mehr

"Hotel Generaton"
Super séjour...pas de surprises. Très sympa et la situation de l'hôtel est super pour visiter Londres à pied. Il y a même une boîte à l'interieur.
