Best Western Adirondack Inn - Lake Placid

A very nice hotel. Felt like home with a nice open fire and Lounge area. Lovely breakfast included. Helpful staff and great location.

Room was clean and neat. Service was good. Amenities are as listed. We made use of the fitness room and game room. Staff even lit the fireplace when we asked about it. Continental breakfast was decent. Eggs, sausage or bacon, pancakes or French toast were served along with coffee, tea, juices, and breads with peanut butter, butter, jelly, or cream cheese. […] Also available were various cereals and oatmeal as well as fruits and muffins/cakes/Danishes. It was good to know we wouldn't have to venture out for breakfast too. Refrigerators in the room made keeping snacks around easy. There is a hannaford grocery store nearby as well as many nice shops along Main Street. We plan to return to the area next year because we didn't get to do all we wanted to. Mehr

Overall the hotel and staff were great and we were able to walk through the town without using the car. The only negative comments involve the carpeting in the hallways and on the stairs and the tightness of the parking availability.

Location, location, location! You can't beat the location for the price. Comfortable, clean room. Breakfast included is always a plus (although I'd only give the breakfast quality an average it was still better than just coffee and pastries you get at most places). Nice to have pool, fitness facility as well as games to play in case of rain.

The hotel requires upgrading and new management. Room attendants are only looking for getting tips rather than do their duties. Breakfast very basic. Will never go back or recommend to anybody. A real disappointment.

Came to lake placid for one night while traveling. Our second stay here and they have remained consistant. The pool and spa are great and the staff very friendly. An older motel with charm and all we needed-and very close to Lake Placid Breww Pub!

We stayed at this hotel in Lake Placid because it was within walking distance to all the shops on Main Street, The Lake Placid Pub and Brewery,(our favorite restaurant) and it was right across from the Olympic centers, ice rink, etc., We usually stay nearer to Whiteface Ski resort, but we wanted to try "in-town" for once. We were very glad we did! The […] drive to the ski resort is only 9 miles, 12 minutes on a non-snow day, and there is a shuttle right across the street from the hotel, if you don't feel like driving. We had the King Deluxe room, and it was very comfortable, with a nice flat screen TV. We had a little issue with the toilet running continuously, which was taken care of right away by the maintenance staff. We loved that we could walk to pretty much anything, and there is a lot to see! We would definitely stay here again. Mehr

The hotel is in a great location right across from the Olympic rink. The only draw back was a musty smell in the halls and room.

The hotel was good value for the price. The location was excellent in the center of Lake Placid. Nice restaurants within walking distance of the hotel which was a good thing as the evening temperature was just 6F.

Stayed here on October 12 2011. The room was very nice, big and convinient. The location was very close to Lake Placid cente, so we didn't need to move the car from the parking lot.

The location of the hotel was fantastic. Directly across the street from the Ice Skating rink. You can leave your car at the hotel and walk to all of the restaurants and shops right down the street. They offered a nice buffett breakfast with scrambled eggs and sausage patties every day. The indoor pool was very clean and an joy to use after a long day […] of sightseeing. There was no restaurant on site but you didn't need one because of all of the restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. I would highly recommend this hotel. Mehr

We stayed 2 nights at the Lake Place Best Western. Beautiful hotel. Rooms were spacious, beds were really comfortable,as were the pillows, the only downfalls were that the continental breakfast, in my itenerary it stated breakfast buffet and what was served my wife could not eat. Need to add eggs in there somewhere. The bathtub would not drain the water […] fast enough so it was almost like taking a bath, and the only other downfall was the parking lot. Not wide enough to turn around in if you drove your vechicle in your space. Very busy and crowded parking lot. I will definitely stay at this hotel again because overall it was a great experience. The location of this hotel is perfect for the surrounding attractions(whiteface mountain, the gorge high falls) and excellent restaurants right near by as well Mehr

The hotel is well situated, just in front of the Olympic Arena. Behind the hotel is Mirroir Lake. Since the hotel is on Main Street, you are in walking distance of all the boutiques and restaurants. The room was bigger than I expected and very clean. The hotel personnel were very polite and helpful. Pleasant, large airy room with a lovely high sloped ceiling. Close to Mirror lake and downtown. Especially convenient for the Olympic ice rink. Extensive breakfast buffet included in price. We were surprised and disappointed when we checked into the Best Western Adirondacks in Lake Placid for our 25th anniversary last weekend. The first thing to greet us was a stale, moldy smell as you walk through the front door. The hotel is old and appears quite rundown....the carpets desperately need to be replaced as does the outdoor deck off the […] dining area. Our bathroom had an obvious muddy footprint still on the toilet seat and hairs on the floors. The next morning, the air conditioning in the dining room had not been turned on and it was unpleasantly warm ....at least there was food available! The next morning we came down at 10:00 only to find a couple of pieces of bread left and little else. Apparently the dining room is only open until 11 am on weekends (even though this was a holiday Monday-Labour Day) but no-one had told us that....another couple did the same thing we did. We were happy with the location as we could walk along the main street to shops,etc. quite easily. We don't usually complain however, given that this was a Best Western facility, we expected more. My wife and I stayed here for our 15th anniversery and were very pleased. This was a very cozy hotel that had a country lodge feel, yet is was right in the middle of all the shops and attractions in lake placid. We barely had to drive anywhere. Also the breakfast was very nice and everything was clean.

First of all the "by the lake" in there name is very misleading. Only a handful of rooms actually have a lake view although they will promote most of them as having a partial lake view even when all you can see is the parking lot! Secondly, the room was a little drab and dirty and the shared balcony set up just about eliminates all privacy. Enjoyed our stay at the Best Western Adirondack Inn. We were able to leave our car at the motel and walk to just about anyplace we wanted to go. The staff was very accomodating and helpful.

Look, the Best Western ADK Inn is not like staying nearby at the Whiteface Lodge, which is swank, pricey, and near perfect. But you have to judge a place on expectation and I expected a clean room, low price, and convenient access to Mirror Lake. I got all that on this trip. And, next time I plan a Lake Placid trip on a lower budget, I will stay there […] again... Mehr

Having had issues with two previous Best Western motels in North Carolin and Virginia, we took a chance on this one and were happy we did. It's excellent, friendly, clean and well situated in the center of town. Thumbs up for the Best Western Adirondack Inn.

The room was average and a little pricey. I have a disability, and was attending the ice show at the arena. Your facility was perfect. The Staff was polite and very helpful and breakfast was much appreciated. Overall, I would definitely stay with you again.

Room was in terrible shape. Very small bathroom with tiles falling off the walls. Beds were uncomfortable.
