This hotel was exactly as described in the photos and reviews I had seen. Yes it is older, and not fancy, but it had everything we needed. The kitchenette is great and saved having to eat out all the time. I'm not sure what the status of the pool is as it was empty and looked in need of repair. All in all for the price you can't beat it.

If you are not looking for luxury, this is the hotel for you! Kitchen was supplied for two people, small fridge, microwave and glass countertop stove. A large pot and a smaller pan and a small fry pan. Service was good, bedroom with two double beds was small and beds pushed against the wall, but great for the price.

We were told that we were going to get a two bedroom,with a jazzuci and you had a indoor swimming pool. We got there and they put us next to the maintenance room. We stated we did not want that room, so they moved us to second floor, the TV in the livingroom was barely working & TV in bedroom didn't work at all. The indoor pool was not open & there […] was no jazzuci. It was nothing like we were told. VERY< VERY UNSATIFIED. Mehr

Quite nice and very reasonably priced. Definitely will stay again.

The sleep sofa is in bad need of replacement. The beds coule also be replaced. Appliances worked well.

my stay was great. clean room, great room service, very polite desk employees. hope they will have a room available on my next visit. right on the beach (made my son's vacation. plenty of shopping, close to ant thing could want.

It had been a long time since my husband and I have been to VA Beach and we were looking for something on the beach. The suites were perfect for our needs. There was a seperate bedroom and living room giving us ample space to put our 9 month son to bed in his crib and be able to hang out in the other room. The service was excellent and the view from […] our balcony was beautiful. It was clean and well maintained. I thought we got a lot for a reasonable price. They thought of the little things as well, such as a roll of papertowels and fresh sponges in the kitchen. I loved being so close to everything. This is certainly one of the smaller hotels, but was perfect for our get away weekend. Mehr

Everything was fantastic, everything was clean, comfortable & inviting.The veiw was awesome & relaxing. We started recommending Ocean Suites to all of our family & friends before we even arrived home. We will definitely return.

The Ocean Suites Hotel is amazingly convenient to everything Virginia Beach has to offer. It sits along the boardwalk with all rooms having sliding glass doors facing the beach. The entrance to the hotel faces Atlantic Avenue, the town's main drag.This summer, the city sponsored free entertainment every night up and down Atlantic complete with concerts, […] circus performances, and fireworks. The Ocean Suites Hotel is smack in the middle of the entertainment zone. The hotel is in an older building that is much smaller than the new hotels that have sprung up around it along the beach. The rooms are small. The bedroom in our suite was cramped. And when the teens who came with us opened up the sofa bed, there was very little room to walk around. The interior of the room was a strange mix of old and new: brand new flat screen TVs; relatively new floor tiles and stone kitchen countertops; older furniture; and drapes and bedspreads that look like they were from the '50's. But the suite did have a kitchenette with microwave, toaster, stovetop, coffeepot, sink, plates, utensils and so on, and an island with 2 stools. There was a safe, iron, and ironing board in the bedroom. The bathroom had complimentary toiletries and a hairdryer. The staff people we met were friendly and helpful. Even though we arrived an hour before check-in, our room was ready for us. Besides the decor, there were other quirky things about the Ocean Suites. Our room was on the ground level. To get to the door of any of the ground level rooms, you had to enter through the parking garage. The air vents in our suite opened out to the garage so we got a lot of the street noise directly in our room at night. One night, there was an overpowering scent of damp, burning wood in the bedroom (I read later there was a wildfire not too far away in the Great Dismal Swamp). I had to open the bedroom door to get fresh air from the living room area. I never went up to see the pool. Our teens did but decided not to swim Mehr

Is a shame this hotel is in a very good location but the service is awful the house keeping never change the bedsheets in 4days that we were there or vacuum the room they just act and make it look like they did..I never going back to this place and will never recommend it ether.I will go back to Virginia beach its great!!! Ohh the frontdesk sucks too […] you will have to call them 4to5 times if you get lucky... Mehr

Very nice hotel that we will definitely stay in again. The hotel was very clean and was constantly being cleaned by housekeeping. Housekeeping was very nice and very accomadating for all our needs. Although we received the wrong room on our first night, the front desk quickly corrected the error the following day. This hotel is very nice, the balcony view is great, The room was great and very close to the beach.

We were very pleased w/ Ocean suites. All the staff were very pleasant. The room was great and very close to the beach. We will stay here again in the future.

The room was very clean. Accomadations are perfect for 2 people. The suite is very small and I don not recommend if for more than two people.

I was quite pleased with our stay. The staff was attentive to our request of staying on the highest floor. I plan to come back t othe beach and will stay at this site.

First of all my reservation said 2 double beds. When we went up to the room it only had one bed. They said they were booked and could not help us that night. They did move us the next morning to a room with 2 beds. It was a hassle and ruined our morning on the beach. They only had 1 elevator and you had to wait an eternity on it to show up. On the plus […] side everyone that worked there was very nice and somewhat helpful. Parking was not the best either. I felt like they should have offered us a refund for a night of my reservation or get a discount for one of my children having to sleep on the floor the 1st night. It was very cramped and far from a SUITE.. The pictures were misleading. Mehr

Overall the hotel looked like a good place, the location is smack in the middle of the boardwalk. But the rooms themselves were small and tight. The Rooms with a pullout couch was very uncomfortable and it was not really that clean. It a decent stay but nothing that great.

There is only one elevator in this hotel. Unfortunately, the weekend we stayed the elevator was broken and we had to walk up the stairs to the 8th floor multiple times until it started working again. But when it did start to "work" it stopped at EVERY floor all the way up and all the way down. The rooms are good for two people. The balcony's are way […] too small. I love the location. It's right near Doc Taylor's. My husband and I's very place to go to get homemade breakfast and $2.00 mimosas. Overall the stay was OK. I wouldn't go out of my way to book here again, though. Mehr

I so di dnot get what i thought i was gettin g iwas told doublew bed full kitchen and extended balcony.. the double bed was in the smallest room no way to walk around with out crawling over the other bed, full kitchen was a 2 burner stove with sink stacked beside a mini fridge with a microwave on it with a coffe pot on too of that!! looked so junky. […] and the balcony i am not even going go threw... extended?????/ seriously ?? worse hotel ever thank god it was at the beach and we spent most of the day in the water... oh yeah tv sucks tooo my iphone served better entertainment then the 8 channels on tv. I would tell all my friends to visit this motel very clean and friendly people that work there. I just wish they would let you bring your animal with you even if you have to pay ex for your doggie....

I would not recommend this hotel if you have little kids. The bedroom is tiny and you can not fit anything else in it like a pack n play, etc. My son is just learning to walk so he still crawls everywhere and his feet were black the entire time from the dirty floors in the hotel room. Very loud, noisy hotel and area surrounding it. Our hotel keys didn't […] work the entire vacation which makes things more fustrating. The price of our stay was cheap but we got what we paid for. The Staff here was very friendly and accomodating. You get what you pay for, and it is in a great location right on the beach. The rooms are spacious and cozy. No need to pay more for a "nicer" room you are in Virginia Beach you shouldn't be in your room except to shower and sleep.

The room was very nice and clean. There was 2 double beds and a separate sitting area. There was a refrigerator, coffee maker, microwave and the kitchenette had a stove with pots, pans and silverware provided. My husband and I wanted to go fishing on the Virginia Beach Pier for 3 days. The hotel was close to the pier and there were lots of restaurants around. We had a two room efficiency. It was clean. The double beds were a little small, but we loved having the kitchenette. We were able to cook and eat our fish the same day we caught them! I would recommend […] this hotel to others. Mehr

Everything was great but a strong storm caused the hotel to lose electic power. They moved us to another property for the last two nights. They were very helpful. It was not their fault because half of Virginia Beach was without power.

I was a little dissapointed in the hotel. I booked it because of the great reviews from other people. The area rug in the living area was dirty, the balcony was really narrow and you had to enter the hotel through the parking garage. I will not stay at this hotel when i visit again. Also the swiming pool was green. I'm not sure it was open yet for the […] season, but it was not a nice swimming pool. Mehr

We booked this room for a seminar that was occuring at another hotel that was off the strip....the room was smaller that I thought, but worked out well for 2 people...any more than that would have been overly crowded. The room was stuffy with a closed up smell, so I brought in an air freshener from the car which helped. It was nice to open up the doors […] and hear, and smell the ocean. The best thing about this hotel is definitely the location, which was excellent. This hotel is exactly in the center of the Virginia Beach board walk. The space in the room was nice. A living room with small kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, and balcony overlooking the boardwalk and beach. The furniture wasn't very comfortable. The bed was a typical hotel […] bed but the couch in the living room was in terrible condition and very uncomfortable. There was a 6 inch space between the bottom cushions and back support on the couch and you could see the pull out bed in the gap. Amenities were lacking. There was free WIFI. This was one of the only hotels I have been at where a continental breakfast was not offered to guests. The pool was green and pool area was in disarray. There was satellite tv in the room but there were only a few channels and the weather in the area at the time knocked service out a couple times. Room service, while helpful, was also intrusive. I put the "Do Not Disturb" but the cleaners still knocked on my door almost every day and if I didn't answer the door in time they would walk in open the door themselves and walk in. Regardless of the do not disturb sign I still had to initial a form for the cleaners almost every day saying I didn't need or want service. Mehr

I really liked this hotel. The suite was kind of small, but for 2 of us it was fine. I liked the separate living room and bedroom, and there was also a pull out bed in the couch if we had needed it. It was all very clean in the rooms. It doesn't look like a lot from the outside because it's an old building, but the rooms have been redone. This hotel was very nice. It is located right on the beach which was wonderful for me since I had my children with me and didn't have to drive around. We just walked out of the hotel and we were right near everything - from the beach, to stores, to awesome restaurants. The only issue that I had with this hotel was the elevator which worked only when […] it wanted too. That was awful at times because we were on the 6th floor. The housekeeping staff at the Ocean Suites were wonderful. They accommodated us with extra bedding, towels, etc. and always responded quickly and professionally to all of our requests. The front desk staff were also helpful. They helped us find restaturants, atm's, and recommended things to do on the boardwalk that we hadn't previously thought about doing. had to change rooms 3x - room was still not cleaned; dirty towels and wash cloth in bathroom; work up to a motorcyle which was not considerate of hotel guests.

Thanks for asking - We were very disappointed in the room. The place was clean; however, the pull out sofa was in very poor condition - we had to put one of our suite cases under the sofa bed to hold the end up so we could use it. The elevator was not working properly Wednesday night and a caution sign was put up. The hotel clerk was on the short side […] with us at check in. At check out the clerk was very open and friendly. We stayed again at this hotel on Saturday night and was given a different room on a different floor. Again the room was clean but the sofa bed was in poor condition. I do not see how this hotel rated a 4-1/2 star rating with you. Mehr

Ocean Suites was a good value as it is right on the beach with adequate parking and excellent views. It was a bit noisy, but not excessive. Rooms were comfortable, not lavish, but each included a small kitchenette, two double beds, and a sofa-bed. I believe all units have a view of the beach. Room with two double beds was small, bathroom was also small, […] but clean and reasonably up to date. I would stay here again. Mehr

One of the nicest hotels on the beach... 2nd time stayin there would stay there everytime... Close to food bars n beach

I would not recomend staying at this hotel. It is dirty, old and lacking customer service.

But the pool looked scuzzy, the balcony was crumbling, and the sofa in the room could do with a protective cover. Other than that, I would recommend it. Rug and everything else was clean and the beds were comfortable.

The hotel room was clean and orderly. You could tell the hotel was older, but they had furnished the rooms to be more current. The view from the balcony was great and the hotel is centrally located on the boardwalk so there are plenty of choices for food and drink. If you want to be pampered this is not the place, the pool was not very nice and there […] weren't really any other amenities. If all you're lookign for is a quality room for a good price, this place is it. Mehr

I took my 5 grandchildren for an overnight stay during spring break. I was very satisfied with the room. I found the kitchnette very accomodating and the beds were very comfortable. Excellent access to the beach and shops. I have recommended your hotel to family and friends already
