"nice getaway in the south"

However you can rent motorbikes at the hotel and a taxi station is right across the street. The hotel also offers some shuttle bus service to the nearest beach and phuket town but we never needed it. You'll have no problems getting around even from this remote location. The rooms where clean, tastefully decorated and in an overall good condition as the hotel seemed to be fairly new. There was some construction work in progress on the property (new apartments) which was not intruding at all. I'm just mentioning it because they seem to be expanding the area. The pool is in front of the restaurant which wasn't as expensive as it probably could have been. You also get direct access to the ocean but there's no beach or anything inviting you for a swim (yet). Our overall experience was very nice, the staff was very polite and always helpful.

Bewertet von einem Hotels.com-Gast am 7. Feb. 2013Das Hotel und die Zimmer sind von der Ausstattung her in etwa vergleichbar mit ein 2 Sterne Hotel in Europa. Das Zimmer war sehr groß und hell, die Aussicht war allerdings nicht der Rede wert (man schaut direkt auf das Nachbargebäude). Einziger richtiger Nachteil war, dass die Matratze sehr hart war, was sich nach mehreren Nächten negativ auf die Nachtruhe auswirkte. Die Sauberkeit im Hotel war absolut in Ordnung.

Patong Beach befindet sich an der Westküste und ist der beliebteste Strand von Phuket. Dieser zwei Kilometer Strand bietet einfach alles, von Wassersport über Massagen bis hin zu Speisen und Getränken. Auch für das Nachtleben gibt es unendlich viele Möglichkeiten: die berühmte Soi Bangla mit ihren zahlreichen Bars, Neonlichtern und Nachtclubs, romantische Abendessen mit Meerblick in Restaurants auf den Klippen oder die beiden Thai Food Courts in der Rat-U-Thit Road. "Sehr schmutzig"
Ich muste die Zimmer wechseln weil Schimmel überall die zimmer riecht sehr stark von Schimmel in Dusche war eine Bund von harem meine vorgengerin das aller schlimmste war als ich sah das kakarlake auf dem fernseh rumlief die nächste Zimmer war nicht viell besser also nie wieder in diesem HotelAuthentische Hotels.com-Gästebewertung

"Das Hotel liegt an der Einkaufsstrasse, nicht weit vom Strand und ist sehr ruhig."
Der Pool ist gross und immer sehr gepflegt. Die meisten Zimmer sind zum Innenhof (solches hatte ich) und sind in der Nacht sehr ruhig. Die Klimaanlage ist wirkungsvoll und auf der kleinen Stufe angenehm.Authentische Expedia-Gästebewertung

"Nice Place."
The hotel was great. Breakfast was kind of expensive and they had flavorless bacon. Flavorless bacon! I didn't know that was possible. For dinner, walk to Break Point and you will not be dissapointed. Great food for a great price. I would say, pay extra for a room on the pool side as it is quiter than the outside ring of rooms. The view of the pool […] is better than the view of the city anyway. I did not care for Patong and would not stay in Patong again, constantly being harrassed for a suit, tuk tuk, or a massage, but that has nothing to do with the hotel. If you go on one tour here, go on a sea cave kayak tour. Take a more expensive tour as they limit the group size. Skip Phi Phi if you are here in the high season, the crowds are sickening. Toilet has terrible odor even after they try to clean it; only sprayed air freshener but never actually clean the toilet and its surrounding. Only provided two towels. "Western-style comfort at Thailand-style prices"
This was the nicest hotel I stayed at in Thailand, and easily one of the least expensive as well. The hotel is in the south Patong area, a block or two from the beach, and a short, inexpensive taxi or tuk tuk ride from the nightlife area. (The nightlife area itself is quite noisy and a bit of a scene, so I think you're better off being a short taxi […] ride away.) The room are very clean and well-appointed. The staff is friendly. And the pool is nice and relaxing. My only complaint is that, like other reviewers, I found the shower to be quite cold. I used the shower head in the separate bathtub, which was fine. Overall, I recommend this hotel highly. I ended up extending my stay in Phuket for a few more nights, and I tried a different hotel further north (the Album Hotel) -- but it was difficult to get to sleep there because there's so much street noise. It's a good idea to be a little bit outside the main area. I ended up moving back to the Mercure, and I definitely would stay here again on a return visit. MehrAuthentische Hotels.com-Gästebewertung

We stayed in a pool view room. Room was spacious and comfortable, although we did notice a musty paint smell when we checked in. It soon went away and didn't bother us after our first night. Shower wasn't hot enough. Otherwise, everything about the hotel was great. The pool is excellent and location is only a short walk from Bangla Rd and Jungceylon […] mall. A very good place to be. Service is great. Staff speasks English well is very helpful. We managed to get all useful information about places to visit and best beaches nearby from the staff at the reception. I made the reservation as well as the airport transfer online with the hotel, and I was impressed by the prompt response & the overall efficiency of the reservation service. During the stay, we found the staff to be friendly & attentive. The room was clean and comfortable. It was great value for money. The only complaint I have was the free internet […] service & the lack of customer service of one particular staff member at the MLounge, which was complimentary as part of the M rooms. "Nice hotel"
Very nice hotel, beautiful pool. Staff was friendly. I liked the fact we were right at the end of everything, not right in the middle of busy patong, but still close enough to walk to eat, shop, & beach. "Great pool and services but smelly room"
The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of Patong beach. There was a great pool in the center of the hotel. Hotel offered several services including themed nights, etc. However, the room hand the strongest smell of mildew. The curtains smelled horrible as if they were never washed. There was free wifi in the lobby but we could never […] seem to get it to work. The food was overpriced and the hotel wanted to charge twice the outside rate for an airport transfer! I had an amazing time staying at Mercure Patong. The staff were very welcoming, professional, happy and spoke english well The facilites (3 bars, 2 pools, gym etc) were all great,and the bars had plenty of happy hours. I stayed in late October and love this hotel. it definitely has a European feel. The room is large, as is the bed, and the bathroom has a granite sink and nice tub. The pool area is gorgeous, especially at night. The staff is friendly, and the happy hour and swim up bar are great. It's probably close to being a 5 star hotel. After visiting Phuket, I can say one thing that this hotel was FAR FAR better than the rest..just by looking at it from outside, it was evident that i had made the right choice. Pros: - good location, close to the shops, eating places and bangla road (but far enough to skip the noise) - big spacious room and bathroom - comfortable bed and AC control - […] 2 nice pools with bars - very clean - friendly staff Cons: - poor amenities in bathroom...no toothbrush, toothpaste, qtips, bathroom slippers (but provided when we asked) - paid wifi .. which was a very negative point as all other lower priced hotels offered free wifi. the 'free wifi' in the lobby was only accessible through your own mobile device / laptop - only gave us an hour of late checkout however we requested for more and were even ready to pay extra.. but said that the room was already booked for another incoming party so we had to leave. other than that.. this hotel was pretty much great! i would definitely come back and book it again! if you want to enjoy the night life and have a nice place to come back and crash in to.. close your eyes and book it.. no need to search other nearby hotels as they seemed nice in pictures but when I saw them in real life.. they seemed really run down. "Great Location."
This hotel is in a great location and has a great pool. The management should STOP the "sun bed hogs"from claiming them as soon as it opens at 7am.Not once in our 8 night stay were we able to get one in the sun. The rooms are well appointed and we had a pool view (413) Breakfast was a good range of foods from freshly made omelets to an array of Asian […] dishes. Main problem was that the food was NOT hot! Even when they brought out some new baked beans... always cold.I would have preferred individual tubs of yoghurt other than a bowl you (and everyone else) helped themselves too ! They made great coffee, but only once was it hot. Reception staff do not speak very good English and it is a bit hard to communicate.Check in was fairly easy and we were given a lovley refreshing cold drink while we waited. My sons room had a mouldy smell to it. They were totally aware of this as a scented candle had been put in a corner, but the smell was constantly there (room 551)The hotel is nice but i wouldn't stay here again.I feel the complex is too big and has the feel of council flats when looking across to the other side. There is a small pool on the roof (which was not clean). It would have been nice to sit up there but there were no umbrellas.They had 3 happy hour sessions at the various bars.This is my 3rd trip to Phuket and stayed at a smaller hotel the previous times which I feel suits our family better. This is a great hotel. Rooms are clean and comfortable and the pool set up is nice and relaxed. Previous reviews complain about the noise whcih i did not experience but getting the pool view room on the back side of the building removes any echo from the concrete. Room service was ok but many place to eat and whilst hotel is not on the main strip it […] is not far and allows for a little quiter night. "Expensive WiFi"
The charge for 24 hours of WiFi was extortionate.There was no discount for extra days. This is a serious rip off. When I stayed at the Horizon Karon Beach I paid the same for a whole week. That hotel was aso a lot better. The staff were more friendly. I wouldn't have stayed at the Mercure if I had know what they charged and having booked through expedia […] I couldn't leave without losing the money I had paid for my stay.
