The hotel was lovely and was in a not super touristy area. Within walking distance of everything. Great breakfast and great hotel.

Hotel San Sebastian is in a quiet neighborhood away from the bustling tourists, yet it's close enough that you can navigate the canals to the major attractions within minutes. They provided a free private taxi for us to a glass factory in Milano where we were given a private tour of the glass-making process and were also encouraged to shop for souvenirs. Fortunately we couldn't afford anything, so it was pretty easy to say no :P I highly recommend this hotel if you are visiting Venice. We will definitely stay here again. Mehr

Firstly a word of waning about Venice.... It is incredibly expensive for what is nothing more than ok standards.... Bu it is a lovely place This hotel is in a great locatin and is clean and well maintained. The standard rooms are small however but the facilities are ok We would recommend this hotel

An enjoyable stay in a good location for the Zattere and Dorsodura sights. It fulfils the basic hotel functions well - though the breakfast could be improved upon. The garden is a real plus.

A sympathetically modernized Venetian building, it's peaceful and conveniently located near to the San Basilio stop on the Zattere. The hotel has a warm comfortable interior which was a welcome retreat to return to on the cold very wet day we suffered. The hotel garden would be lovely in the warmer weather. This hotel willl suit those who particularly like staying in the Dorsodoro area away from the crowds elsewhere. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. It was useful that they could converse in English and provide assistance with locations in Venice and how to use the boats. Although slightly away from the centre of Venice, it was easy to walk around to the major sights and the San Basilio boat stop was within around 100 metres of the hotel.

I enjoyed the location and lovely private garden setting in back.An alleyway just to the right of the hotel set you on a walking adventure to the Academie campo and on to the Marco or Rialto ports if you wished.Coming home to a quiet neighborhood after spending tourist time in the busier Venice settings was ideal.The staff was very helpful and the fresh […] fruit at the reception desk showed a caring touch. A very nice hotel in Dorsoduro, which is a nice area for exploring the Venice labyrinth. It was 35 degress (C) when we visited and the air conditioning did not quite keep up, the TV worked soso, but the staff was very friendly, the garden is excellent for relaxing after a long day in Venice or for having breakfast and the room we stayed in was very […] charming. The hotels location was absolutely excellent if you want to have a little distance from the big mainstream tourist streaks. The room was clean and the interior designs were stunning, just what one would imagine a nice upscale hotel in Venice. We enjoyed a deluxe room with a view overlooking the beautiful garden. It's just a few hundred meters to everything […] a tourist could demand, still just outside you can find the small vegetable and fruit market, "Billa" the minisupermarket (try the cured ham, the staff speaks english), some cafes that serves sandwiches and pizza and the ferry to all Venice tourist locations, and also the ferry to Croatia. Breakfast is decent, maybe someone will miss something, DO NOT miss the fresh-cut prosciutto, ask the friendly staff! Room was clean, fresh and we were not disturbed by any neigbours. -one minus for no wireless in the room, the lobby was wireless but in the room you need to use a cord, hard to use with any wifi-enabled phone. My wife and I enjoyed the hotel a lot. It's in a nice location that is not crowded with tourist but is still convenient to vaporetto stops. The hotel has a good breakfast that was a little more filling than the usual European breakfast of coffee and bread. You can also eat your breakfast in a pleasant little garden in back of the hotel. There are several […] good restaurants just a couple minutes walk for the hotel at Campo San Barnaba. Also a nice little super market near the vaporetto stop San Basilio that was convenient for picking up snacks and water for walking around Venice. We loved the neighborhood feel of the location. Not much TV in english but you are not going to Venice to watch TV. The bed was a little hard for me and the AC while functional did not get the room super cold. The staff was very helpful making restaurant suggestions and reservations, but they ran out of tourist maps to hand out. Mehr

We stayed at this lovely hotel for 2 nights. Breakfast was delicious and the hotel was clean and comfortable. The garden out back was quaint! It is a bit away from the main square, but there is a waterbus stop steps away from the hotel. We would definitely stay here again!

We selected this hotel based on reviewer's comments, and were clearly disappointed. The room was clean and nicely furnished, but minuscule even by Venice standards. Worst of all, water was cold or lukewarm; hot water was available only intermittently (and enough for just one person). In January, with outside temperatures near freezing, this was a major […] annoyance. Management came up with different excuses, but didn't solve the problem during our stay (5 nights). The hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood near a number of very good restaurants, but otherwise a bit far from most sights. Observation: four stars? Hmm. We had a peek into one or two of the bigger rooms, which were stately and spacious, and may deserve the label, but the small rooms are two stars at best. Summary: Book their largest and most expensive rooms and you may enjoy your stay; the smaller rooms are poor value for money. We'll not come back to this hotel. Mehr

A lovely old hotel within walking distance of the heart of Venice. The staff, particularly Claudio, was very helpful and courteous. The breakfast included was a beautiful buffet.

Hotel is only 2 min walk from San Basilio station. Rooms are stylish preserving old Venice look. Friendly and helpful staff. One suggestion: get a map as soon as you arrive to Venice -- it is a labyrinth otherwise!

I would definitely stay here again. 3 minute walk to a Vaparetto (water taxi) stop. Breakfast included is nice. However its a cold breakfast no hot foods. But nice choice of breads, pastries, cereals, fruits, cheese, etc. The coffee is fantastic. The Cappuccino and and Espresso they serve is delicious. Eating breakfast outside in their garden is a relaxing […] way to start the day off. Good internet access in the room as well as a computer to use in the lobby. The service is friendly and prompt. Small charming hotel compared to the big busy chain hotels we normally frequent. The A/C was adequate during our stay. However on a hot day I doubt the A/C would be able to keep up. It was a very small A/C unit. It never got really cold in our room even in the cool evenings. But it was cool and comfortable for our stay. It blew cold air just the volume was barely adequate for our size room. During the heat of the day we were out and about so it was much of a factor. They did allow us to change our reservations however they charged us a lot to do it. The choice of TV stations are pathetic. Not 1 English channel. I would think a 4 star hotel would have a least 1 English channel. Total channels available where like 8. In this day and age of digital & satellites having such a poor selection of TV channels is surprising. Despite these minor complaints, stay here. It's very enjoyable overall. Mehr

This was an excellen find in Venice. It is away from the tourist area but only a short walk. The hotel was clean and a lot nicer than friends who were paying a ton more. This is a great Venice Hotel

Only thing about this hotel is no one knows where it is. After getting off a 14 hour flight the cab will only bring you to the center of venice, the rest is up to you. good luck, i wandered around for 2 hours, asking and looking at maps, no help. After that the hotel was not that bad, A/C didnt work, stiff bed, but thats about it

My husband and I found the Hotel very good, the breakfast was lovely and the garden a beautiful place to enjoy it. The garden was a nice place to relax with a book and enjoy some peace and quiet. Charming little hotel with a lovely garden perfect for evening drinks. Service was excellent especially as they were willing to store our luggage for our night time flight even after we had checked out. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Hotel was in a quiet area of Venice...not that great of a neighborhood and away from all the main tourist attractions. Staff were nice. Room decor and bedding were old. The hotel could improve on its cleanliness. Free Internet!!!!

The hotel was quiet, had a nice courtyard where you could sit outside and have breakfast, and was convenient. Overall it was a very nice place to spend several days.

séjour très agréable, personnel accueillant; l'hôtel est situé en dehors des zones ultra-touristiques et permet d profiter d'une ambiance vénitienne; seul bémol, la chambre est ridiculement petite pour 4 étoiles, on ne peut pas faire le tour du lit et les portes du placard cognent dans le bureau.

Ligger ett stenkast från San Basilio Vaporetto stationen, bra om man har mycket bagage. Lite dammigt på golvet annars rent. Behållningen var trädgården och intilliggande kvarteren och kajen vid Zattere. Frukosten Italiensk + yoghurt. Får betala extra för ägg/bacon, capuccino samt espresso. Baren liten, men bra och trevlig service.

C'est un super hotel à Venise : trés bien placé à Dorsoduro,à 2 mn de l'arrèt du vaporetto San Basilio . Les chambres sont trés propres, spacieuses. Le personnel est trés sympathique et toujours prét à rendre service. Le petit plus:l'hotel est ancien et pour certaines personnes sensibles,il est hanté:expèrience incroyable et sans aucun danger!

Bien situé, accueil agréable et bon petit déjeuné! Je recommande! Les chambres sont bien mais encore perfectible ( lit double est en fait 2X2 petit lit collé ).

nous avons passés quatre jours dans cet hôtel, nous avons appréciés la disponibilité du personnels, l'hotel est situé a 1 minute d'un vaporétto, quartier très calme, je recomande cette hôtel pour une lune de miel

Koselig lite hotell beliggende i et rolig strøk. God italiensk frokost. Hjepsomme hotell verter. Ga oss gode anbefalinger på små koselige restauranter i nærheten.

Très bon accueil, propre , agréable et petit déjeuner convenable . Proche des différents endroits a visiter dans Venise avec présence d' un arrêt de vaporetti a 5 minutes a pied.

Beautiful garden and overall a really cosy place. Our room was quite small, but this didn't bother us at all. The only minus was that one day there were no hot water in the shower. Rummet var litet, luktade apa, en frän äcklig doft som aldrig försvann. Duschen var ett duschhandtag i ett för litet badkar, väldigt kass med tanke på priset på hotellet.

Hôtel très bien situé (2 mn à pied d'un arrêt de vaporetto desservi très régulièrement par la ligne 2 et d'autres) dans un quartier calme mais néanmoins très beau (Dorsoduro). La chambre est de taille correcte, très bien décorée sans être surchargée! Le service est de qualité et de bon conseil. Vi var svært fornøyd med både rom, service, frokost, hage, beliggenhet og allting. Spesielt frokosten får et stort pluss i boken - det var til og med hjemmelaget grovbrød! Eneste minus i boken må være at resepsjonistene ikke var i stand til å lage long drinks, og bartenderen var ikke på jobb. Men de gjorde uansett så godt de kunne, og klarte å lage […] noen drinker likevel. Vi kan trygt anbefale hotellet, og kommer nok til å ta inn her igjen om vi skal til Venezia flere ganger. Mehr

Excellent hotel, good location in a quieter part of Venice, Dorsoduro. We were travelling by car and parked at Tronchetto, so we were able to get the vaporetto to the Basilia stop which is just 2 minutes walk from the hotel. Staff very professional and friendly. Nothing a problem. Lovely garden for the copious breakfast.

Accueil chaleureux et personnel très disponible. Petit déjeuner très copieux. Hôtel très confortable et très propre situé dans un quartier charmant et authentique, à l'écart du bruit mais néanmoins pas trop loin du centre.
