Clarion Hotel Jamaica - Jamaika

Da ich am Anreisetag am Flughafen JFK ankam und am folgenden Tag vom Flugahfen LGA wieder weiterreiste, und dieses Hotel genau in der Mitte liegt und zudem sehr gut angebunden ist an den Öfentlichen Verkehr, wählte ich dieses. Von JFK mit dem Airtrain, in 10 min bei der Jamaica Station und von da aus gute 10 min. zum laufen oder mit der U Bahn in 2 […] min beim Hotel. U Bahnstation ist 100 m vom Hotel entfernt. Mit dieser U Bahn Linie ist man auch innert 20 min beim Times Square. Zum Hotel selber, es war ein gutes Zimmer für eine Nacht. Es hat auch Einkaufsmöglichkeiten (für Getränke und Knabbereien) in der unmittelbahrer Nähe! Mehr

Nahe am jfk Flughafen, gleich neben der UBahn E. Trotz heruntergekommener Gegend sicher. Aber keine brauchbaren Restaurants und Geschäfte in unmittelbarer Umgebung.

I find the smoking room are not as tidy as the non- smoking rooms. Mixed feelings about staying there again.

Selected the hotel primarily due to parking availability and proximity to where we were going. Was generally fine with a small, New York type of room - certainly not luxurious but it met our needs. However, one look at the top comforter and ew, seriously in need of washing! If it had at least looked clean I would have rated this place much higher.

Old, Awful, Sunk of smoke only good thing about this hotel they offered a good breakfast in the morning.

This hotel seemed like a great deal for the price, but the experience was disappointing. The people that checked us in continued to have a conversation while we waited to be acknowledged. The housekeepers pretended not to speak English when we asked while our bed did not have a fitted sheet. There was some brown slime on the nightstand, and there was […] a cap to something on floor near the bed. When they say parking is limited, they should note that there are only 6 parking spots total. If you're just looking for a place to sleep in NYC, and you don't care about cleanliness, then this should be fine. Otherwise, I would suggest spending the additional money for a nicer hotel in the city. Mehr

room was big, bed was comfi. everything was clean. we just crushed for the night between flights. it was better than expected

- excellent location ... near bus stop and restaurants/convenient stores - poor bathroom ... not clean, slow shower, no shower caps, dirty towels - bad shuttle bus service ... bad schedule (not synchronize with attraction's ending time), not enough shuttles in peak hours, delay sometimes

My husband and i had a marvelous stay at the Clarion Hotel. everybody was so nice. the housekeepers were so helpful and friendly. Breakfast downstairs was wonderful, My hubby and I will stay at the Clarion again again. thank you guys for a wonderful stay!!!!!

When you book online, if they have not received the payment from the company they make you wait until your payment post! I didn't not like that part of the check in process. Other than that great quality for the price ;)

I have stayed at this hotel before and was not dissapointed. It was comfortable and close to JFK which is what i needed,lots of food choices close by and transportation,and i feel safe in the area.Will stay here again.

This Hotel is so disgusted that i am not sure why Hotel.com will even allow it to be on their website. AVOID AT ALL COST. PAY $5 EXTRA BUT GET A DIFFERENT PLACE.

I wish u could leave at 12 becuz 11 is too early

my room was on the street side and the traffic noise overnight was too loud for me to sleep soundly. there must have been a pothole right in front of the hotel that heavy (garbage or dump truck type) truck would hit and jolt me awake. "no sleep for the weary" here.

It was in a great location..... Close to food and stores .... Nice people .... Nice room you will feel safe and comfortable believe me when I say it ....

Too noisy and lots of panhandlers loitering around the hotel. I have stayed at this hotel in the past and it wasn't as bad; but, the conditions have gotten worse.

I have stayed in many hotels and have never been shocked - this one took us by surprise. We booked a room with 2 double beds, but the room was so small 2 beds should not have been put in it. My husband and I, my elderly parents needed to stay for 1 night, my niece came along last minute for a sad occassion and was surprised when we walked in. Had to […] take turns moving around. No space to put luggage, a small stand-alone wallrobe, tv w/stand, fridge, desk & chair all crammed into a single room, no couch so my niece had to sleep on the floor. Granted we arrived after 11pm, but I did go and ask if there was a larger room and was told NO and that all rooms were the same size. There was noise constantly throughout the night, not to talk about the awful breakfast they offer, couldn't eat it. The parking is very, very minimal. Thank goodness it was only one night and we were tired after traveling for 5 hrs or we would have left. Will not stay at that brand hotel again. Mehr

Since my friend and I were going to take a early flight in JFK, we chose to stay in Clarion. The location is great. lt takes you less than five minutes to reach the Subway station and the next station is the place for you to take the JFK air train. The room is good enough for just one or two night. Wirefire is good and the bathroom is clean. Although […] the room is a little bit small, it is enough for two people to stay. The room service is good. I will choose to stay in this hotel next time when I need to take a plane in JFK. Mehr

I was very pleased with the hotel; my room was very clean and comfortable. The young lady on duty when i called the morning of my stay to confirm made sure that I had a very quiet room; I had told her i was coming for a funeral. I really appreciated this attention to my personal needs, even though i did not ask for any!

Room is small and parking is limited. But is clean. will stay again but only for a day or two.

Good for the rate. Near to Van Dyk metro station. E Train connectivity to WTC and times square without any changes. I booked for a day and when wanted to extend for 1 more day back had to pay 30 bucks extra for the same room. Not bad though. Also very small room

Attendants very objective, sometimes aggressive. Poor breakfast service (replenishment, closing, cleaning, etc).

Good location

Arrived (after a long trek from Manhattan) to find the sheets and towels were stained - as was the shower curtain. The air conditioning created a musty smell in the room whenever it was turned on. The internet connection was down for the two days and the staff didn't seem too concerned at all. The 'breakfast' was also disappointing - Sunny D is not […] orange juice. When I went to check out, the hotel staff didn't believe me at all when I said I was in the room I was - and didn't apologise when I was proven right. Close to E train for airport and the provision of HBO was very welcome. Just because a hotel is relatively cheap for New York does not mean that there has to be a complete breakdown in service. Nevertheless, this hotel appears to believe that this is the case. Mehr

We stayed here to be close to the airport and still close enough to the city to enjoy our last evening in NY. The staff was rude and would not even look at you when they spoke to you. They were too busy watching the TV. The carpets throughout the hotel seriously need to be replaced. Once we got to the room, there were cigarette burns on the comforter, […] stains on the sheets and "other than head hair" in the towels and on the shower wall. I would have gone somewhere else if the room was nonrefundable!!!! Also, once we got there an asked about the airport shuttle they said they had...they said "oh, the shuttle is a taxi that we can call for you"....WOW! Mehr

I stayed in a NS-King room on 8/2-8/3 2011. I thought the room was a nice size for it being just the King size bed in the room. The bed was very comfortable. The television was a nice size. Even though some of the channels were very fuzzy. The remote was missing the back part so the batteries would fall out every now and then which was a little annoying. The […] bathroom size was adequate, the shower head had a leak that squirted water out over the curtain and onto the sink. From the look of the ceiling above the the showerhead it had been like that for a while. Also, the toilet seat was loose. And to top it all off I was directly across from the elevator so i could hear everyones conversation and I could hear the conversation of the people next door. The walls in this place are pretty thin. I would recommend this hotel if you need a place to lay your head at night and if you dont mind the noise. It does get a little noisy at night but it didnt bother me at all. Be careful of the chairs in the room. It seems that some of them are missing the coils so people are falling through. Mine were there somewhat...the coils are crap. in my room the AC was up high so I had to stand on the edge of the seat and turn the AC on. Im five seven and had trouble turning it on while standing on the chair! For some these reasons may be a deal breaker but for me it was alright. I just needed a 24 hour break from life and thats what I got. I will stay here again. Mehr

im not happy with the floor c i stayed is like a basement. Next time upper floors, please. The price is good and checkout staff are pleasant n helpful. The check-in staff was rude n unpleasant. I SELECT THIS HOTEL BECAUSE IS CLOSE TO THE SUBWAY STATION AND IS NO T EXPENSIVE LIKE IN MANHATTAN AREA,JUST FOR SLEEP.CLOSE I HAVE MC DONALS ,WENDYS. THE PARKING IS SMALL, JUST 9 CARS, BUT YOU CAN USE THE CLOSE STREETS.THE CLOSE AREA SORROUNDING LOOKS UGLY BUT IS LITTEL SAFE, I RECOMMEND IF YOU ARE GOING JUST SLEEP. I always need to stay near JFK so the hotel is close enough, clean, and comfortable for the price. I always need to rent a car so I do not care it has no shuttle. Would recommend for business travellers who need free wi-fi and comfortable place to stay. Area is not great but the hotel is just to sleep.

The Clarion has about 10 parking spots otherwise there was parking on the street, that I would not recommend. After calling to cancel my reservation because I could not find a place to park, the manager came out and opened their back gate and moved their dumpster so I could park in a secure area. Checking in was quick and easy. When we got to our room, […] it was so small, my son and I could not walk at the same time. When he tried the television, it did not work. The next morning, I could clearly hear the people in the next room talking and opening and closing the dresser drawers. We were able to check out easily however, it took almost 20 minutes to get someone to move the dumpster and open the gate so I could leave. The people working at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. However, the lack of parking, tiny room, and thin walls have me not recommending this hotel. Mehr

The hotel needs to improve the service provided by staff. They weren't particularly friendly or helpful. One felt like you were bothering them. Like they weren't there to serve the guests but rather to speak to each other. Breakfast needs to be improved. Same low grade breakfast everyday!

I like the my stay at the hotell

Overall the hotel is OK. It would be nice if it offered a shuttle to JFK and if the front desk was more attentive and friendly.

The hotel is clean, it is a newer hotel. Some people might not like the neighborhood, but being that I am a former New Yorker, it did not bother me, especially since the train and buses were outside or next to the hotel. I was surprised though that they did not provide ice water. They had vending machines for that.

For stopping in, this hotel works. This is not a neighborhood to go out in and I am not sure about this subway line. Even if you did want to go out the streets are really empty, although there were some bars I passed. The hotel was on a busy street corner, so request a room upstairs and facing the back. Perfect to pull of of 678, park your car (free […] parking) and grab cheap dinner (Subway, Wendy's or McD's all nearby) on your way to or from JFK. I had business in Jamaica the next day. Shops are about a mile walk but there are some good ones for kids' stuff. Price was reasonable. 1 hour on subway to Manhattan Penn Station. Mehr

When I drove up to the hotel I thought I was in for an awful night. To my very pleasant surprise, I was 100% wrong. I asked for a quiet room and the desk person told me I should take the room in the basement. The carpets are all lumpy from dampness and I dreaded seeing the room. It was very small and I had to step on a chair to change the a/c BUT - […] the bed was great, the TV worked, the room was clean and very quiet. It was a good buy and a good night's sleep. I'm pretty mechanical but couldn't figure out how to get the shower to work but otherwise, overall a very good stay for the money. Mehr

The neighborhood is run down. The restaurant choices are fast food and a very low grade pizza place. Even though it cost me $$ to cancel and move to a better hotel.....it was the right choice for me. You get what you pay for.

The hotel was nice and the surrounding area was fun and very interesting.
