Das Hotel liegt günstig zu Old Town San Diego. Es benötigt mal eine Renovierung. Eine Lobby, in der man sich einmal hinsetzen kann, ist nicht vorhanden. Der Empfang ist aber freundlich und hilfsbereit. Empfehlenswert nur für Leute, die sich mit einem sehr einfachen Hotel begnügen u nd nicht viel Geld ausgeben wollen.

Wir hatten ein Nichtraucherzimmer gebucht mit einem Queenbett und bei Buchung bereits bezahlt. Vor Ort war allerdings nur ein Raucherzimmer mit Queenbett frei. Nach kurzer Inspektion gingen wir zur Rezeption zurück, da das Zimmer unglaublich nach Rauch stank. Die ältere Dame an der Rezeption teilte uns mit dass nur Doppelzimmer mit 2 Queenbetten als Nichtraucherzimmer zur Verfügung stünden und wir dafür 10 $ + Tax extra pro Nacht zahlen müssen, was wir letztendlich auch getan haben. Uns war es das wert, dass wir aus dem verqualmten Zimmer rauskamen. Ich finde es trotzdem eine Unverschämtheit von der Dame, ich hatte ihr die Kopie der Reservierung gezeigt, wo draufsteht, dass wir ein Nichtraucherzimmer gebucht hatten. Die Lage des Motels ist recht einsam, also kein Restaurant etc. in Gehweite. Das karge Frühstück bestand aus schlechtem Kaffee, Orangensaft, Cerealien, abgepacktem Kuchen und wenn man Glück hat Bagels, Orangen und Bananen.

Lage
Leucadia Beach Inn liegt in Encinitas. Folgende Sehenswürdigkeiten befinden sich in der Umgebung: Sealife Aquarium, Legoland Kalifornien und Carlsbad Premium Outlets. Zu den weiteren Sehenswürdigkeiten der Region gehört Folgendes: Del Mar Racetrack.

In Carlsbad blühen überall Butterblumen. Diese Blumen wachsen auf einer Fläche von über 200.000 m² auf den "Flower Fields" der Carlsbad Ranch. In der Nähe dreht sich im Museum of Making Music alles um amerikanische Kompositionen und Instrumente. Im Norden wiederum liegt Oceanside in der Mitte zwischen Los Angeles und San Diego. Dieser Strandort ist bekannt für seinen Landungssteg, der mit fast 600 Meter Länge der längste Holzlandungssteg an der Westküste ist. In der Nähe befindet sich auch der Legoland-Themenpark.

das Hotel besteht aus einigen kleinen Bungalows die alle einen Sitzplatz im Hof haben aber auf die Strasse hinausgehen (viel Verkehr Strasse und Bahn) und ein Haus mit Paterre u. 1. Stock. Wir hatten Glück unser Zimmer ging hinten raus, wir hörten nicht viel hatten aber leider keinen Freiplatz wo man Abend noch mal sitzen konnten. Der Hauptort Encinitas […] liegt am S Coast Hwy, wenn man Einkaufen oder schön Essen gehen möchte benötigt man das Auto. Auch zu der schönsten Beach, der Moonligt Beach, muss man fahren. Die Strände die man zu Fuss erreichen kann sind ohne Service und eher was für Surfer, Alles in allem hat es uns gefallen, da wir eine kleine Kitchenette hatten und uns auch mal selbst versorgen konnten, besonders zum Frühstück. Nice room with two large beds, a TV, fridge, small stove and sink and dishes. Short walk to the beach. Easy access to major highways. Overall good deal. Nice that it wasn't a major hotel chain.

This place was perfect. Right near the highway, even closer to the beach, excellently decorated and supremely comfortable. We were disappointed we couldn't stay longer. The rooms are more like studio apartments -- ours had a stove, refrigerator and microwave. We'll hope to get back there soon.

this hotel was more like a studio apt, and i loved it. my husband and another couple stayed there for three days and it was cleaned for us everyday, plus there were utensils and cooking supplies for breakfast!! its clean and comfortable, and the beds are super clean and comfy!!! the guy at the front desk is super cool too, i think his name was Doug? […] anyway, definitely a good place to stay if you are headed to encinitas and the surrounding areas. try the Leucadia donut shoppe for their coffee and sweets, its delicious and cheap! was a half hour from la jolla (best shopping!) and like 40min fro the san deigo airport....if we ever vacation there again ill go back to leucadia!! "Great Times!"
Very comfty hotel, near a bunch of cool little places to hang out. My dog loved it, sepcially being able to head down to dog beach near by. Nice sushi restaurant next door. Will defintely go again.
"beach stay"
this hotel was clean and with-in a 20 minute walk to the beach, but it was near the commutor train and was noisy from 7 a.m to 11 p.m.. The rooms were very small and crowded. No pool, jacuzi, wifi, or other common admenities.

Our stay was everything we hoped it would be. The room was clean and comfortable, we could walk to the beach and restaurants, and the price was reasonable. We will definitely go again.

OK, I was pleasently surprised and extremely happy with my stay at this property. It looks like something from Italy. The flowers all over were refreshing and really made you feel good. The owner saw my friend and I, and went out of his way to ask us if we wanted a pic together. What a guy. Was always very friendly, and had a fun beachy feel to him. […] This place was close to everything, and I didn't know there was a WholeFoods right down the street in Encinitas. rooms are small but clean. Price and location were excellant. Only has basics and was good for us as we were there to go surfing and didnit need much. If you want luxury accommodations, try somewhere else
"A little gem - Leucadia Beach Inn"
The Leucadia Beach Inn was a pleasant surprise. The rooms were clean, bright, simple and comfortable, with tile floors and kitchenettes. The beachs were a nice walk away, and a path down from the bluff. Lots of surfing to watch! There is a great little market next door to the Inn, and delicious donut shop down the street. "Clean and Cozy"
great place to stay for the price. very clean and comfortable. didnt realize it was a cross from the train tracks, but it didnt keep us up.. I was very impressed with how clean it was and loved having tile floors instead of carpet.

Nice, clean rooms. However the bed was very uncomfortable. Mattress was very soft and you can feel every spring. If i had to guess, I'd say the mattress was +20yrs old. Rooms have no internet access and no phones to contact the front desky
Hotel has a very cute exterior. Very clean room and bathroom. VERY SMALL ROOM AND BATHROOM! Very small and old TV. The bed was the most uncomfortable bed I had ever slept in!!!

Hotel is fine but it is not very close to the beach! I would not stay here if you plan on walking to the beach with children. The parking is very difficult also. You have to back out onto a freeway we were just praying we didn't get hit. This is a great place to stay if you want simple and you don't mind walking.

"Leucadia Inn"
While the ocean is inconvenient to get to, the Inn is very comfortable and pleasant. We were able to walk along the Coast Highway looking at various shops. A less than five minute drive had us in Encinitas where there are a lot of fine restaurants and quaint little shop. Overall we were very pleased with our choice.

This is a little hidden gem. We LOVED our stay room was spacious and cozy. The kitchenette was a wonderful addition and the microwave and fridge came in very handy as we were traveling with 2 children. "Surf Trip"
Had a surf trip with a few old out of town friends. Location was close to multiple well know surf breaks. Town of Leucadia is still relatively quiet and low key compared to some neighbors. Good mom and pop restaurants nearby Hotel looked like a throw back in time. Staff was friendly and helpful. Only two things didn't like. Beds were a little on the […] stiff side (but who cares when you are dog tired from surfing all day) and the trains rumbling by. I will definitely go back! Hot tub would be nice. Mehr

"Leucadia Beack Inn"
This was the most relaxing stay that we have had at a motel in years. This is an interesting little hotel it brought back all that was good during the '50's and before. Very friendly inn keeping that went out of his way to make our stay the best.

We've stayed there several times and always enjoy our stay. Its an old, well cared for and spruced up motel. Highly recommended for a retro, relaxed vacation.

The Hotel is nice and remodeled.The bathroom in my room was very small.It had no electrical outlet in the bathroom sink area.You better have a rechargeable shaver and hair dryer.The television was way small.I'm guessing a 13" regular TV.It had a small refrigerator, coffee maker,and microwave.I would give the room a 3 or 3.5 out of 5 rating.The blankets […] on the bed were very thin.Other than that it was a descent hotel for the money. "Long Weekend near the Beach"
We were extremely pleased with this Motel. We try as often as possible to stay in the older motels. It is extremely nostalgic. This motel lived up to all of our expectations. The room was very clean. The bathroom was quite small, but this is the way they were in the 1950's. The parking was very limited. We did find additional parking in the back of […] the motel, which worked out quite nicely. There is a train track quite close and we did hear the trains, but the noise only last a second and did not disturb us at all. Mehr
"Beach hotel"
The accomodations were clean, but very basic. No hair dryer, no phone, no internet. The internet was the biggest problem. It was a classic beach hotel in this way. I probably wouldn't stay there again for more than a couple of days.
