Hotel Urbano - Miami

Overall I was pleased with my stay at Hotel Urbano. The valet staff were amazingly pleasant and helpful. The front desk staff was pleasant as well. I was surprised by the valet fee ($30 per night), but apparently it is fairly common in Miami. The room was well-appointed and comfortable. Very modern with everything I needed. I did not to get to use the pool because it was raining, but I thought it looked like a great outdoor area to spend some time. Hopefully I will get the chance again. Everything was great except that it was a bit too far from downtown and good plaçes to see. The staff as awesome.

Very friendly and helpful staff but a bit understaffed. There is one person who is the parking valet, doorman and bellhop so expect the check in and departure process to be slow. Beautiful well maintained facility. It is pet friendly but the pet fee makes it quite pricey for fido to stay here. There are no special pet amenities that comes with the high […] pet fee. Lovely neighborhood for a stroll but no retail establishments nearby. Nice restaurant on the premises but pricey. The price of a double espresso was very very high. Great pool! Quick cab ride to the Ziff Ballet and Opera House. Expect a 10-15 minute wait for your cab once ordered by the front desk. Mehr

Good quality for good price. Every thing is offer on the site, that's good because it is noting close by. Nice pool, good entertainment at night and convenient. Very satisfied!

We were flying into Miami the evening before our cruise and looked for a reasonably-priced hotel midway between MIA and the Port. Hotel Urbano looked interesting, and we booked a 1-night stay. Upon arrival, the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The carpets and paint looked new, the color scheme was stylish and comforting. Our room was on […] the first floor with a patio leading out to the courtyard/pool area. The room itself had both wired internet and WIFI (free!) and was pristine. The only reason "Comfort of your room" was given a 4 instead of a 5 is that the bed was a little soft for our tastes. The pool area was lush, with a very nice pool, tables and chairs, and cabanas that were all available without reservation or fee. We arrived at about 6:00pm, so we ordered a couple of drinks ($10/each, but they were VERY heavily-poured doubles...well worth the price) and an appetizer (chicken tenders and fries, which were delicious). When I mentioned that we were planning to spend the evening enjoying the weather on our patio, the bartender offered to bring the drinks and food to us. We spent the remainder of the night on our patio with full drink and bar service! In the morning, they called us a cab and loaded our bags, asking us how we had enjoyed our stay and inviting us to come back to visit. We've already recommended this great little hotel to friends and will definitely stay there the next time we're in Miami. Mehr

We booked a room w/double bed for 2 adults and 2 kids, but when arrived only a queen was available. Had to squeeze into the room a very small roll-away bed that barely fit. Room was very noisy due to traffic noise. Quality of hotel was OK, but not great, and certainly not any better than mid-priced competitors.

The room was suposed to have two queen beds, but it was two twin beds, and we were 3 adults in the room, myself my husbank and our daughter, so it was not so confortabel. For the rest the hotel is very nice, good breakfast , very good situated, the parking is quite expensive 30 usd per night, but it is posible to self park in the surrounding .

Quirky place: lots of art hanging everywhere (with big price tags), but take all that away and it's fairly ordinary but priced a bit high. Even so the staff are wonderful, very friendly, relaxed, and attentive. The room was clean and they have a small, clean fitness room, which I liked. But really the best part of this place is the pool: whether you […] swim or not, it's located in a beautiful big terrace with a waterfall that effectively masks the city noises and provides lots of good relaxing vibes. If you stay here, get a "pool view room" and you'll be able to open your windows at night to something other than fumes and traffic noises. Okay, so it's a converted Holiday Inn. But you'd never know it. Revamped top to bottom, this is a stylish art-themed hotel with all kinds of intimate, funky nooks and crannies. Pool is built for comfort and fun, not lap-swimming. Fire pit at night on the pool deck is cozy. Crazy comfortable bed. The glass-walled shower was a bit awkward (I had to get […] in and close the shower door so I could turn it on.) Yes, there's a steep daily parking fee but it's worth it. IFItness room comes with a treadmill, elliptical, reclining bike and dumbbells, as you look out over the pool and Key Biscayne.. (They provide towels and water in the fitness room.) booked at Urbano because all the hotels on South Beach were sold out. I'm shacking up here in the future. Not only do you save money, you're not far from I-95 on-ramps north and south. Best of all, the front desk and valet services were efficient and friendly at all hours. On a business trip, the WiFi/T1 laptop required a password but was easy to navigate. Plus, it's just a cool looking hotel with lots of art hung everywhere. Yes, it was kinda hokey when the desk offered us the chance of purchasing a stuffed manatee that is put in each room. But it wasn't a pressure sale. Mehr

I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and available facilities in the hotel (business center, printing, pool, bar, and fitness, etc). Delicious breakfast (although, why isn't it included in the price of hotel); Nice pool, nice rooms and bathrooms, etc. However, what i was not pleased with was the location of the hotel: you have to rely on taxi […] services to bring you around. This would not be bad, except that no cabs ever came! It would take me 20, 30, and 50 and 55 minutes to finally have a cab come to pick me up. The front desk said they called several times, but it turns out the cab drivers EACH told me they "boycott" the hotel becuase of some politics (too long to explain or fully understand). The other minor point was late night, there was nowhere to get any snack, a chocolate bar, some chips or anything) the bar only served real appetizers etc, and the vending machine only sold drinks. Because there was no CVS or Duane Reed around, i was left snackless. The front desk just said, "sorry". This obviously is a minor piont, but the getting around town without cab service was major especially since I was late to meetings (purpose of my trip) becuase of the unpredictability of a cab answering the hotel's call. The manager must deal with this and debrief with the cab company to service common customers!!! Mehr

Loved this little hotel. The accomodations were of good quality, everything was well-maintained in the gym, and staff was excellent. Will use again!

I had some small issues, first you can only do valet there and its $29.00 a night. I would get in late, so sometimes nobody was out there, they got mad at me for leaving my car outside and going to bed one night. However they did take care of me, gave me 3 free nights of Valet and a bottle of wine. This is a great hotel 1.6 miles south of downtown Miami on Brickell. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The room was very spacious and clean. I would stay here again on my next trip to Miami. Overall, a Miami gem and the art in the Hotel is great!

The best stay ever! a little bit away from south beach but great service and beautiful hotel....

Went there to enjoy one night before going back to the drudge, and when I got there was told $30.00 for parking. Was going in (was 10PM) and out (at check-out time) and was not told before I made a reservation. Was not offered an alternative Then was refunded only $32.00 by reserving company . No thanks.

Hotel is clean and well located, but its price is too expensive according to its level. Breakfast is not good.

The hotel overall was a nice place to stay but when we called for the location before we made the reservation they did not tell us the correct info. We were looking for a closer place to our destination and they told us 2 miles which in reality it was 15 miles. Also they did not have the hotel rooms we booked. We Booked two rooms with two beds and they […] gave us two rooms with one king and a pullout and only would waive one of our parking passes. For what we paid they should have given us a free room. The hotel staff were very friendly and accomodating. I was rushing to check in to leave 20 minutes later for a meeting. The staff had my car waiting and directions to my meeting ready so I could head right out. The had karaoke playing in the bar Friday night. It seemed fun, but was a bit loud when you're trying to check in. I can say the noise never […] reached my room and I was on the first floor. The room was neat and clean. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was a little small, but other than that I had no major complaints. Unfortunately, it rained during my stay, but the pool looked fantastic. Great place to stay if you're hanging out downtown, midtown or Mary Brickell Village. It's very close to 95. Mehr

I had a short stay at the hotel and it was much nicer than I expected. The bellman and hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean, comfortable and modern. Room service for breakfast was on time, food was OK. Not fabulous but not bad either. I didn't venture out into the neighborhood - just grabbed a cab to my meeting. That was […] the only downside of my stay. It took well over 20 minutes to get a cab. A little treasure to get away from the maddening crowds. The location is perfect to everything--Calle Ocho, Coral Gables, South Beach, Brickell and Downtown. You need to like art and color. The rooms were extremely comfortable. The food is ok, but close to many great restaurants. The pool area is not overrun. You actually can relax. The staff is always […] helpful. Although I think they could know a bit more about the better more interesting restaurants. The only downside is somewhat expensive valet $24 plus taxes ($30). Valet is the only way to go. Not much easily accessible public parking. The rates are quite fair. Would definitely stay again. Mehr

I booked with hotels.com to be on the beach in Miami. This location is nowhere near the beach. As soon as we arrived the desk agent informed us the hotel was oversold and we did not have a room. They sent us by cab(they paid for it) to a "sister hotel about 15 minutes away, Hotel Indigo. It was nice, it just added another hour to a very long exhausting […] day of travel. This Hotel is a great value: the beds were amazing with fluffy comforter and pillows.... the food was great and the hotel is very artsy and charming... The only problem was that we booked a 2 bed pool veiw and got a king bed street vewi and the next day they did accomidate us with the double bed but street veiw... I reccomend this hotel but call to […] confirm the arrangments. Would be a great hotel for stop pit before a cruise.... Mehr

Cons: The bathroom shares a door with the closet and it doesn't lock. The refrigerator wasn't working, parking on hotels.com differs from the actual price they charge. Pros: Free wifi but you need a password

Bartender "q" welcomed us when we checked in ! Valet attendants asked every time we left if directions were needed. Security was polite n friendly during our late night swim... Since we were all behaved :) Check in and out was easy. Location and price is fabulous. Rooms were quiet and clean - night stand lamp bulbs were not working ( that's it )

My boyfriend and I went on a cruise. Before the cruise we stayed at the Doubletree Grand. After the cruise we wanted to stay another night in Miami and decided to stay at Hotel Urbano. When we first arrived on the property at Hotel Urbano, we both looked at each other with a crazy look saying how we missed the Doubletree already. Once we stepped inside, […] the view was totally different from the outside. Long story short, my boyfriend and I fell in love with this hotel. The staff was very friendly. The lobby was very clean. The room was so clean and comfortable, I didn't want to leave it. It was so well decorated and amazing. We both decided we would definitely use that hotel again. Mehr

This hotel was located in a great area. The room was nice and the bed was great! Service was fantastic. The eclectic art made the hotel interesting and set apart from the chain hotel. Great place.

Rooms are nice and clean, as was entire facility. Staff are friendly and helpful. Bonus: if you are taking a cruise and staying before it, when you return to Miami you can leave your bags at the hotel free of charge (even if you are not staying again before departure) and sight-see or hang out in the pool. The pool area is lovely and just like the pictures. Only […] downside: can take a while to get their delicious food...but just ask any employee for assistance...all are super helpful and the delays are usually caused by them chatting with guests. It was a special occasion for me and my gf and the hotel staff went out of their way to treat us special. The service was excellent and we really liked the decor and overall atmosphere.

Upon arriving at Hotel Urbano I was greeted with the warmest of smiles. Front desk, very friendly and welcoming. I was too early for check-in, however Hotel Urbano got a room ready for me. I must say I was surprised, The Hotel Urbano was immaculate and looked just like the photos advertised. The rooms are big & very clean , beds are very comfortable. […] I must admit I didn't even miss my own bed like I usually do staying at other hotels. When compared to other Miami hotels, HOTEL URBANO is the very best!! You will not receive such a kind & friendly staff anywhere else. What a pleasure. This Hotel is close to everything, South Beach, Coconut Grove and about a 15-20 minute drive to Hollywood & Fort Lauderdale. Thank you Hotel Urbano!!! Mehr

The Urbano hotel is Brickell close to Key Biscayne, Coconut Grove and Coral Gables. It is convenient if your center of interest is one or more of these places. I used the Urbano quite often and in the past I was not always happy with service. This time, service has been much better than before. Night rate was very competitive for Miami.

Urbano is a nice hotel. Just do not come by car. They spring the Valet Parking on you at $31/day, and that is mandatory (the hotel does not allow guests direct access to the garage).

Overall I was pleased with the hotel. The room was clean and I was pleased with the decor of the hotel as a whole. The modern look of the hotel was very pleasing to the eyes. The only thing I could have done without was that valet parking is mandatory. Would have much preferred to park my own vehicle, especially considering the cost. Great staff, service and hotel. The food was good. I almost do not want to give a review because I want to keep this a pleasant secret. Loved the location. Loved the quietness. Do not have any qualms about staying here. You will want to come back again.
