The stay was great I enjoyed the cleanliness of the room the only draw back was the breakfastarea was small and the vending machines were down

right next to highway and gwb. cant sleep due to traffic noise

The location was perfect, however, I would not recommend Econo Hotel!

Consider of the price and connivence, this place is the right choice to stay.

Perched at the foot of the Beautiful George Washington Bridge and every tractor trailer that passes sounds like a bomb expoding. Loud

This was a budget hotel without any frills. It is located right next to the George Washington Bridge. My son and I took the 1.5 mile walk each way across the bridge to the subway station and back. I stay here a lot. It's not the best place. I've had billing issues and maintenance issues. The area isn't great but there is a plaza a few blocks away with a Five Guys and some other stuff. The reason I stay here is because it's inexpensive, and it's PERFECT for staying overnight and then taking the Ferry into the city the next day. I booked an double queen room . It's on the 1st floor, faces the highway.--very noisy in midnight. The bathroom is quite old and narrow, with bad smell, such as wetness. The neibourhood was quite noisy.

I just stayed here for a weekend. Its not the Ritz but for the price and the convenience of getting in and out of New York city it was worth it. My room was very clean and comfortable and right in front of the George Washington bridge.. Getting in and out of the city via public transportation was very easy and economical. It's OK if you just want a cheap place to stay with free parking close to Manhattan . The non-smoking room I had reserved reaked of cigarette smoke. Every morning, my pass card would be inactivated so I had to go to the office to reactivate it. The room was relatively clean and there was a large TV, though it was not a flat screen.

Convenient location, simple accommodations, access to the internet and the staff is friendly.

I have stayed here a couple of times and generally liked it. It has convenient free parking and is easy to walk across the bridge to Manhattan (1.5 miles) or take a bus (go to Lemoine Ave., go downstairs to bus stop on I-95). So it is a good place for someone driving to see the city who will need a place to park, and who needs room in the hotel for […] 2-4 people. This time, though, my needs were different. There are a few things I hope the management will take into account. First is the price. It used to be lower and made sense for me as one person, but now that it is higher, it does not compare well with rooms for one person that I can get in Manhattan, closer to my business activities. Second, the noise from the highway is really loud, and the doors don't fit very properly. This allows wind and noise to come into the room (perhaps the hotel could supply free earplugs). Third, every time I have been here, I am locked out of my room on the second day and my keycard needs to be reprogrammed before I can get back into the room. This is particularly inconvenient if I have heavy bags to carry. I asked at the desk, and they said I would need to ask specially to have the card work for two days. When I have a prepaid reservation for two days through Hotels.com, why should I have to ask specially for a second day of access to my room, without having to make a new trip to the office? At best, this is just because the desk clerks are lazy and use the default when checking me in. At worst, this is a cynical direction from management to make sure that no-one stays a long time and runs up a bill without being able to pay for it. But even if that is the purpose, why not give me two days of working access card when I pay IN ADVANCE for two days of staying at the hotel? Lastly, independent of management, I stayed out late this time when I was working on a project, and there were no more buses across the bridge (last one leaves at 1am) and the walkway across the bridge was closed. Some rooms are better some worse but it's too close to highway and a very noisy one. It's hard to sleep. The windows are old as everithing else and are not blocking noise. Rooms are quite clean but some smell like hell.

This is a very small hotel with very small rooms. It's literally right next to the George Washington bridge. The sound of traffic can be an issue but it's SUPER EASY to get anywhere!. The Ferry station was directly down the street...not even a turn...straight down, and the Ferry took 5 minutes to get to Manhattan. Noisy. We ordered 2 queen beds in our room, and got stuck with one king-sized bed.

After one night my husband was covered in bed bug bites. By the end of night two me and my baby daughter were also bitten. Now we are completely covered in bed bug bites. We had a lot of trouble after booking in. Our first room was wet, very smelly with foul air and dirty. The second room was wet and dirty with bed bugs, as we discovered the next morning. […] I did not even use their linen and was bitten from my face to my feet. The other room we booked for our family had a broken toilet that could not be fixed till the afternoon of the second day. They offered breakfast, but there was no coffee, cups or hot water at 7.30am. Overall, I would tell people to avoid this place. The price is too high and it is dirty. You must wear shoes in your room, or your socks/feet will be covered in dirt. In my home country you would never get away with this level of dirtiness, and poor service. American people would do well to think about the image they give to foreign people. Mehr

This hotel is all about convenience. It's right next to the GWB, and the walk across is very pleasant. Then you can take the subway to anywhere in NYC. The hotel itself is fine for what it is, although there was a distinct odor in the bathroom. The bed was reasonably comfortable, and the place seemed clean.

The hotel itself was fine, with rooms a bit small but clean. Well connected by nearby bus to the NYC subway. BUT: don't go if your sensitive to noise. It is surrounded by 24-7 busy roads, there is always traffic noise in the background.

I couldn't sleep all night I kept getting bitten by something, so I turned on the light & found 2 bugs in my bed. I put them in a cup & took them to the front desk & asked for a refund, but have yet to hear back from the manager. Don't stay here!!!

Very good hotel!

The hotel bathroom is small, the microwave was not heating hot. I think the location is dangerous because it is on a hill which people speed up that hill, makes it hard to drive off the parking spots. The parking lot is a one way in and a one way out. The staff needs to understand what the guest is requesting. There is lack of communication with the […] spanish help. Example: I asked for a wash cloth and the staff did not know what I was talking about. I was at the linen closet and pointed out to them this is a wash cloth. Tiny parking lot but in NY a parking lot is a plus. Very close to the GW Bridge the walls shook with traffic it was clean for Jersey but not necessarily clean. Very small accommodation (room, bathroom, etc)

right naxt to the Washington bridge, walking distant to a real cool A&P Groceries. Low price, fridge and Micro, a place to sleep

Hotel is showing it's age. Rooms are clean but worn. Convenience can't be beat - you can see the GW Bridge from your window. The manager and staff were very helpful and went out of their way to accomodate. A good value for the money.

We were looking for a place to stay overnite before entering Manhattan (and paying NYC prices) and this hotel was located right at the entrance of the bridge, saving us time in the morning. That is the good news. Unfortunately, the hotel itself was awkward to locate, and had no lobby entrance that was clearly marked, just a girl behind a wall with a […] window in it. Very cramped. They promised breakfast, but , ugh. No place to even sit. The rooms were dark, smelled awful, and felt unclean, and the bathroom was worse. Also, when we had trouble finding the place, the "receptionist" was not helpful on the phone. She did not know the area and could barely be bothered to speak. We were just looking for one night's sleep, but this was a stay at the "roach" hotel. Mehr

Small room, convenient to GW is the best feature. I couldn't get a receipt from the clerk though. The printer was out of toner. I asked her to email the receipt to me. She took my email but never followed through.

I stayed at this hotel last night (05/15/11) and I want to write this review before my brain supresses any of the experience. First the good part- this hotel is very close to the GW Bridge, and transportation to take you into the City. that concludes the good part- now the rest: The hotel is run down and filthy, the rooms are very small. I reserved […] a non-smoking room with a king sized bed- although the room had a sign that said "non smoking" i think that the last several guests had been smoking in there- it reaked of smoke- the floor had not been vacuumed for probably a week, the bathroom was about the size of an airplane restroom- no place to put any of your stuff except the floor, but if your stuff touched the floor, you would probably want to just throw it out. same goes for the dirty sink- I had to be very careful with my toothbrush, because if it had accidentally touched the sink or faucet, I would have just thrown it out- it was that dirty in there. There was a 1-1/2" gap at the bottom of the door that allowed the neighborhood ambiance to drift right in- that included constant truck traffic just outside, a "guy" yelling at one of his girls (no joke- the argument went on for quite some time and got pretty detailed) The bed was actually pretty comfortable I must admit, but the covers were stained with(use your imagination) so I had to sleep in my clothing which sort of ruined the comfort of the bed- then to top things off, at 2 am I woke up with a severe itching on my arm and found 3 bedbugs in the sheets- I collected them in a plastic cup to show to the front desk in the morning, and they didn't seem interested when I showed them to them. the "breakfast" that was supposed to come with the room was served in the 12x12 front office and consisted of 2 types of stale cereal and no milk they also had some bread available. this is a 1 star hotel Mehr

convenient (too close) to GW Bridge so getting to sleep was not easy with truck noise.

This was my third time staying here and it was convenient and as expected. I have stayed in three different rooms and some are larger than others. Some have full baths and some have accessible showers. All had microwave and mini-fridge. As mentioned in previous review, it is close to fast food, car rental (budget on Lemoine ave.) grocery and drug stores, […] and buses to manhattan (George washington bridge bus station and subway). This will never be confused for a luxury resort, but it is clean and as comfortable as a small room can be. if you just need a place to spend a night or two, then this is a decent place at a reasonable price. It is also very close to the George Washington Bridge, so access to NYC is very easy from here.

The hotel was chosen because it was cheap and in a convenient location, but I got a lot more than I expected. The room was very large with a very big bed and tv and an air conditioning and heating system which worked brilliantly. Bathroom was small but included hair dryer etc. The property was clean though housekeeping could call at very strange times […] such as 5pm at one point! Breakfast is available and was varied. Cereal was always there and sometimes bagels, porridge and other supplies. Breakfast is available in reception rather than a special room but they didn't mind me taking it to my room. I didn't explore the area very much. It isn't too pleasant as it is close to an extremely busy road! There is a small shopping area within a five minute walk which contained a supermarket, subway, a Chinese takeaway and a McDonald's among other places. I booked the hotel largely due to its convenience to get into Manhattan - within five minutes there is a bus there where buses were extremely frequent and took probably about two minutes to take you across the bridge and to a new york subway! Decent motel. Cramped, but a good place to sleep. Small room, giant, incredibly comfortable bed, tiny bathroom. I would stay there again.

Located at the foot of the George Washington Bridge. I walked over the bridge in the morning. It took me 22 minutes and was a very nice walk. I will stay again at this hotel

This is exactly what you would expect from an econolodge, simple, small, easy. There was free parking, which is unique this close to the city. There is a grocery, pizza, drugstore, car rental, etc. close by. This is not a touristy neighborhood. It is a commuter/business office neighborhood. Commute to Manhattan is easy: On Lemoine Ave bridge that goes […] over the highway (I-95) there are stairs going down to bus-stops with either NJ transit buses or private coach companies that come by and fill-up on passengers who each pay 1.50-2.00 to get over George Washington Bridge to GWB bus terminal/Subway station in Manhattan. From there you are on to anywhere the subway can take you. I stayed here because it was close to Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, where I had a meeting, and I walked there from the GWB bus station. This location is a big savings for those with business north of midtown. Downside is the walk to bus-stop, although short, is not pretty, and coming back late at night it's pretty lonely. Bottom line, this is a good location for those with business in the upper half of Manhattan, but will not impress anyone who wants the tourist experience. Mehr

Pour cette catégorie, l'hôtel était très acceptable, le petit déjeuner continental très simple ainsi qu'un l'accueil relativement cordiale . Malheureusement nous avons eu un problème avec notre réservation. Il y a eu un manque de communication flagrant entre hotel.com et l'hôtel Econo Lodge, j'en suis encore à essayer de démêler tous les frais relatifs […] à cette débâcle. Je tiens donc à aviser tout les futurs utilisateur de ce site à bien vérifier et valider leurs réservations avec chacun des parties pour ne pas avoir de fâcheuses surprises comme nous l'avons vécu. L'hôtel est tout juste à côté du service de transport en commun qui vous apportera directement à l'entrée du métro, Le tout pour la modique somme de 2,00$ par voyage. Bref, nous avons passé un bon voyage malgré la perte de temps considérable que nous avons eu pour régler le manque de communication entre l'hôtel et hotel.com. Mehr

Hotellet ligger på andre siden av G Washington broen nord for Manhattan. Pga billettpriser når broen krysses er taxi sjåførene lite villig til å kjøre til hotellet fra downtown for mindre enn 50-80 dollar. Er mulig å ta buss over. Ellers et helt greit hotell.

高速沿いで少しうるさいのが玉に瑕 マンハッタンにも近く、早朝だとＪＦＫ空港にも30分あればいけます。 日本スーパーのミツワにも５分ほどあれば到着。 何かと便利です。 治安も悪くなさそうでした。
