"Super Hotel, aber aufpassen welches Zimmer man bekommt!!!"
Grundsätzlich ist das Hotel aufgrund seiner nahezu einzigartigen Geschichte, es handelt sich um ein gelungen umgebautes altes Gefängnis, ein Erlebnis und hebt sich hierdurch von den sonstigen Standardbauweisen der Hotels deutlich ab. Die Lobby im alten Zentralbau des Gefängnisses ist wirklich ein Erlebnis und einen Besuch wert. Das Personal war sehr […] freundlich, die Zimmer entsprechend der Klasse ausgestattet. Leider haben wir ein Zimmer mit Blick auf eine Innenhof mit Bürofassade des Mass General Hospitals bekommen. Im 4. Stock war auch das Brummen einer Klimaanlage zu hören. Hierfür gibt es eindeutig Abzüge. Auf unser Bitten das Zimmer zu wechseln, wollte oder konnte man uns kein anderes Zimmer anbieten, man sei ausgebucht! Schade! MehrAuthentische Expedia-Gästebewertung

"LIBERTY - es fehtl das gewisse "Etwas""
Tolles Design / Kult-Hotel (gehört zur Leading Hotels of the World Gruppe) unweit der bekannten, historischen Charles Street in Boston. Aus dem ehem. Gefängnis hat man (versucht) ein Design-Hotel zu machen, das leider in Punkto Sauberkeit und Komfort nicht ganz einem Hotel der gehobenen Luxus-Klasse (keinesfall 5*!!) entspricht. Der Concierge-Service […] hingegen war absolut top - sehr freundlich und kompetent, hat man uns (fast) täglich interessante Ausflugs- und Besichtigungs-Tipps gegeben. Auch bei der Miete eines Mietwagens war man behilflich. Boston ist eine supergeniale Stadt - und wirklich eine Reise wert! Super auch die Ausflugsmöglichkeiten nach Cape Cod, Nantucket, Martha´s Vineyard - und natürlich nach Cambridge mit der Harvard University etc. Das Liberty Hotel würden wir allerdings nicht mehr buchen ... "Go directly to Jail - do not pass GO....."
We stayed at the Liberty for a quick 2-day visit to Boston and thought this hotel was fantastic. Be sure to watch the history of the conversion from Jail to luxury hotel on the TV in your room! Our main mode of transportation was the subway and this location was perfect - right across the street from a RED line stop. Very comfortable room, large bathroom, […] increbily friendly staff, and a very interesting background story on the building - all in all, a wonderful place to stay. I can't believe this hotel was less expensive than other options near-by. It's a showstopper. I had a great time staying here and it really seemed to be a hot spot in the area. Excellent service. The staff was totally unaccommodating about the fact that they had a huge techno party with extremely loud music in the lobby that went on til 2AM. It sounded like a nightclub in my hotel room. When i complained, they apologized that they couldn't turn the music down at all, but they also couldn't move my room because they were fully booked. Worst night […] stay at a hotel I've ever had. I usually stay at the Westin or W and thought I would try this luxury collection hotel from SPG...the lobby is pretty impressive as it was once an old jailhouse but that's about it. Service wasn't what you would expect with SPG; carpet in room stained, furniture scratched, scratchy towels. "Gorgeous hotel near MGH"

For starters, this is an old jail. And the builders actually kept the original architecture of the jail! The bars and restaurant are all themed - Clink, Alibi, the Yard. Rooms are definitely luxurious with the stand up shower and the soaking tub. And Molton Brown products!?!? Views are of the city and the Charles. If you like to run, the river is outside […] the door. Walk to Boston Commons in under 10 minutes through the picturesque Beacon Hill. Did I mention the Welcome complimentary glass of champagne? The staff was very informative of the area and super nice! I loved that we were right on Charles St. which took you to Beacon Hill and to the Freedom trail! I love how much history the hotel has!
