From the moment we arrived the service was fantastic. We got there at about 10am to drop off our bags and they already had a room for us to check in to - was a great start to the weekend. We arrived a little early and the ? floor manager went out of his way to give us another room already serviced. One of the lights was not working and another was put in place plus 2 free drinks at the bar.....or we could have another room. When we arrived at the hotel, we were given a printed sheet saying there was a special rate of parking at a nearby parking lot, for $15 until 8 the following morning; however, this was not the case, and this was clear when we parked in the lot (the attendant said it would be $20 until 6 am); we immediately told the desk staff, who said they can take […] no responsiblity at all for handing out this information. They said that they had called the parking company, and were told the website (which they had printed for the handout) was inaccurate and being updated--but they said it would be $20 until 8 am. In the morning, the parking charged $27, and the hotel staff did not acknowledge any responsiblity for promoting this inaccurate information. Mehr

We were disappointed in the standard of cleanliness in our room. On the surface it looked okay but when i was looking for something I thought had gone under the bed, I was appalled to see the level of dust and rubbish under there. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The hotel lobby was nicely renovated. The rooms were tidy but aged, something you would expect from a motel chain. The room was extremely dusty. I do not suffer from asthma or hay fever, but I woke up most nights with difficulty breathing from the amount of dust in the room. even after airing it out every […] day over a four day period. The vent in the bathroom did not work, nor did the fridge. Location was relative to the price, about a 10 minute walk to town. Room was satisfactory for our requirements. Shame about the lack of parking on site, alternative parking was suggested by staff at reception which cost us $39 from 3.30pm Thursday to 9.45am Friday morning.

Run down condition and if there was another option close to Vector Arena, we would have chosen it. Next time we would stay farther away and take taxis instead of staying at this Copthorne. Specifically the hotel needs to address the mouldy smell in the room (we ran the air conditioning all night but were unsuccessful in getting rid of it), the tired […] room fittings and furnishings, black grouting in bathroom with white tiles, chips and gouges in common hall walls. Given the condition of the hotel we did not eat there. Would not recommend this hotel. Mehr

We enjoyed our stay. Was very convenient - close to the Vecta Arena. We found the staff very helpful and good to deal with. One negative - The room had a table with only one chair, but a double bed... where does the other person sit??

Friendly & helpfull at reception. Meal in house was average. Room airconditioning not working properly. No windows to open for fresh air. Had to open door to balcony, which was too noisey.

The cleanliness of the bathroom was dreadful, mold around the tiles. The room was beside the lifts and the continual noise and banging from the lifts all night was very unpleasant and made it virtually impossible to sleep, also a generator was switching on and off during the night which added to the noise. The staff were excellent and I feel sorry […] for them having to work in such an environment. The hotel is badly in need of a complete revamp. It is very old. Have stayed in the Copthorne near the Viaduct and it was in a totally different class to this one. Mehr

Hotel staff polite and efficient, hotel a little far for a comfortable walk into the town centre. We were alarmed at the temperature of the hot water in the shower and wash basin, it would have been relatively easy to be scalded if you were not careful. We had booked a room for two adults and one child, the discription of the room was one king and one single or two queen beds. We had two small doubles very disappointed I had to share with our daughter the beds were not big enough for to average sized adults.

A good economical hotel close to the city centre. The $18 buffet breakfast was good value. The air conditioner was too noisy. The rooms were a bit small but good value for the online price we paid.

The hotel was all right (excellent shampoo/bath gel) but a little run-down. I understand that they are upgrading the hotel and my room was on one of the floors which is yet to be renovated. The old style key (cf. keycard) was indicative of this, and I struggled each time to make it open the door.

Room decor tired and in need of maintenance - apparently this will be done by 2013. Still no excuse for stained armchair, in my opinion. Internet connection very expensive: as of 26.10.2012 there is supposed to be Wifi in all rooms so you might be ok from now on.

Close to town. Very helpful friendly staff. Food in restaurant good. Could be a little closer to other eateries but still good. Beds comfortable. A little bit noisy but that was other patrons after the rugby match. Would stay again, was good value for money. Not much parking available but we arrived at 8pm at night and still were able to get one.

This was meant to be an upgraded room.....the room was so small you couldn't even move around comfortably or even open the fridge fully. The TV was from the 80's and so was decor of the room. When you pay good money for a special night out this was very disappointing, we were even told there was not parking and would have to park in a public car park […] down the road. :-( Mehr

Staff at front office gave us the wrong roomkey and shortly after arriving another gentleman let himself into our room with the same key. The Duty Manager, who was the front office person who checked me in, apologised profusely and offered us a free drink at the bar. Carparking is very limited on site and we had to use a public carpark about 200m away […] which cost twice the Hotel publushed rate. Mehr

Nice but olf hotel, Seems recently refurbished. The staff was nice but not flexible about extending stay for same rate for another day.Room is very small and hallway is narrow.
