Treacy's Hotel Waterford Spa & Leisure Centre - Waterford

the hotel was good and clean the staff were very friendly but we had no hot water for a shower so i had to go down to the pool to have a shower. the room was tiny but very clean. the food was ok i would stay again for a weekend as waterford is great lovely people.

This is a middle-of-the-road hotel; welcome was warm at front desk but not in bar, room was comfortable but not 100% clean, breakfast was good food-wise but in an unappetizing atmosphere & with dirty dishes, a great hotel for a fast near-train station stay if you're not spending too long in the hotel

The hotel bar has loud live rock music which reverberates throughout the building making it impossible to sleep. In addition the noise made by the drunks leaving this bar in the small hours is unacceptable. Service in the restaurant was surly, the decor terrible, the food passable. We stayed in this hotel for two nights in August. The hotel is only a 10 minute walk to the centre of Waterford and there was free parking nearby. Rooms were clean and tidy. The pool is small but apart from that we thought it was very good value for the price we paid.

We had a great stay there for three nights. The staff were excellent and very helpful and the hotel was very comfortable and welcoming. Breakfast was great with a wide range of choices and the bar food, served all day, was terrrific-- biggest breaded cod I have ever eaten. There was plenty to do in Waterford and surrounding countryside so no excuse […] for not enjoying ones self. The only downside was the fact that we overlooked the river and the road which was very busy, even at night , which made sleeping a little difficult. Mehr

Stayed for three nights to attend a christening, location of the hotel was fine for me, just a short walk to the shopping areas and tourist sights. Bedroom was clean & comfortable though stifling due to the weather (high humidity) thankfully there was an oscillating fan provided which was never off! What lets this hotel down is the corridors leading […] to the bedrooms which could do with being redecorated and re carpeted and the public areas should be cleaned more regularly than they are. Only ate breakfast in the hotel, self service, food was hot and plentiful. Good leisure facilities. Reception staff pleasant and attentive. Only downside, room overlooked side street above bar and was rudely awakened in the early hours by two couples arguing and screaming abuse at each other!!! (possibly late night live entertainment!!!) Got great value for the weekend, however, the Hotel is a venue for Hens & Stag parties and we were woken on the Friday night with a hens party knocking on all the doors. Noise transfers easily from rooms above.

Interesting combination of OAP's and hen do's that were staying on the weekend I was there. Rooms were ok if a little outdated, but overall clean a satisfactory. Free internet in room via cable provided. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Pool & jacuzzi in a leisure centre that was connected to the hotel. Didn't use spa facilities. Walk into town about […] 5-10 mins. With a little more updating, this place would be a very nice place to stay. Mehr

Booked this hotel for a sunday night. Hotel in brilliant conditioon. Had a lovely time. Would go back again

great hotel lovely helpful staff. the breakfast was lovely and served until 10.30. there is nice food in the bar ,we did'nt eat in the restaurant but for ashort break with children i would definitely recommend thhis hotel. the entertainment in the hotel is very easy listening and i look forward to returning when visiting waterford again

This hotel is in an excellent location in the heart of Waterford city with free parking nearby in a multi-store car park. We even had 2 cars between 4 of us and there was no problem getting spaces for the 2 cars. The hotel was noisy however as it is on the quays and passing traffic during the night was loud, the hen party that stayed at the same time […] as us was just as noisy. The rooms were lovely but the rest of the hotel needs a bit of a facelift. We ate in the bar, which served decent bar food and met our expectations. The staff were very helpful at all times. I was a little disappointed with the Leisure centre as it is quite small. Overall the hotel was sufficient and met our needs and very reasonably priced. Mehr

Clean, comfortable hotel and room. Friendly and helpful staff. Centrally located. Easy to get to by car. Free parking at nearby multi-storey. Would recommend this hotel.

to cut a long story short the fighting and noise level in the corridor on saturday night was unbearable so much for a peacefull weekend and talking to the manager was no help at all.

Overall this hotel was fine and we had no complaints. One odd thing that I want to point out is that they do not use top sheets on the beds -- just the bottom sheet and a duvet-style feather comforter. I didn't like this arrangement and asked about it in the morning. They said they just started doing this, but if anyone wants a top sheet, they just […] need to ask for it. (We didn't notice until we had changed into our PJs and didn't want to deal with it after a late night at the pub...which I suspect would be the case for most people!) Also: during our 10 day trip we stayed at 5 different places. All of the other hotels or B&Bs offered some combination of buffet and table service at breakfast...even if it was just bringing you tea and toast at the table. Breakfast at the Waterford Days is strictly buffet style (including drinks) and just very different from the type of personal service offered at other places we stayed. Mehr
