Arenal Manoa - Fortuna

Das Hotel Arenal Manoa liegt mitten in der Natur. Ein Hotel für Naturliebhaber und am Fuss des Arenals. Das Hotel liegt etwa 500m von der Hauptstrasse in einem eigenen „Naturpark“. Eine ruhige Umgebung mit viel Pflanzen und Vögel, 2 Anlagen mit Swimmingpol, gutes Restaurant und vieles mehr. Vermutlich das beste Hotel in dieser Region.

We really enjoyed the Arenal Monoa Hotel. Everyone was friendly and helpful. When we first arrived, we were told that the hotel had been overbooked & we were forced to stay in another hotel which was not what we wanted, but the next day they had a room for us. The gardens were beautful & everyone had their own little hut-like accommodations. The beds […] were comfortable, the bathroom was elegant and the view of the vulcano was outstanding. Nice property, room was great, staff very friendly and helpful. Did tours booked thru hotel had one gkitch but the staff handled it fine. Location is out of town so car or cab ride is needed. Dining on site is fine but if there more than two days you will want to eat in town. Had great time would recommend to friends.

The Arenal Hotel was beautiful. The grounds were spectacular, and the room was very pleasant and comfortable. Our vacation was off to a shaky start when we arrived at the front desk after a brutal 3 hour trip from the Airport and we were told that they were overbooked & we had to go to another hotel. What a let down that was. Then to add "Insult to […] Injury"the alternate hotel wasn't as nice & we had to climb 4 flights to reach our room. Thank heavens we were able to get into the Arenal Monoa the next day! Mehr

Great service with very nice bilingual employees. Safe feeling with extraordinary views from our villa. All rooms are villa in style. Only complaint is that the entrance way is a little hidden. However, signs leading up to the hotel made it easy for us since we were renting a car from San Jose.

Overall, the location, staff and accommodations were beyond our expectations. Muchas gracias to Eddy and Carlos who made our stay especially memorable. I highly recommend Arenal Manoa to anyone visiting the beautiful volcano region.

I would stay again -very comfortable, gorgeous lodges and heavenly location - very kind and welcoming at the hotel - only tip just don't eat dinner at the hotel restaurant = absurdly expensive for what they serve - and just okay food - better to eat at a local place in Fortuna - you may have to look around - the tourists are heavily targeted there their […] breakfast was less than stellar - as well - had much better all over costa rica Mehr

Hotel is in a nice location just outside of La Fortuna. Good views of the Arenal volcano, weather permitting. The rooms are just fine and comfortable. The restaurant on site has acceptable food and the staff was very nice.

When booking I was not aware that the hotel consisted of standalone units (2 units connected), the rooms are very intimate and inviting and most of all the View is amazing. The grounds were impeccable and the breakfast was memorable. We had a great stay and would highly recommend to family and friends. We stayed here for a few days in late September. We found the hotel staff friendly, accomodating and helpful. The complimentary breakfast was more than satisfying and the room was large with a perfect view of the volcano. There were only two downsides. 3 friends and I stayed at Hotel Arenal Manoa near La Fortuna in April 2011. We were all extremely impressed with the hotel grounds, the amenities (multiple pools, swim-up bar, in-room spa services, cable tv, the restaurant) as well as the friendliness and helpfulness of the hotel staff. Every staff member greeted us throughout the day and were extremely […] helpful in calling us cabs, checking on our tour information (booked separately from the hotel), etc. The restaurant was also very good - a full breakfast was complimentary each morning and the food was very good (and we're foodies). The hotel is about a 10 minute/$10 cab ride from the town of La Fortuna but all of the nicer hotels are about the same distance from the town. The hotel seemed fairly empty when we were there although it may be because the grounds are so spread out (someone will drive you in a golf cart to/from your room and reception/pools, etc.) so often times we had the pool to ourselves. We also enjoyed the thermal pool after our daily activities. The room was neat and clean and we came home to a towel sculpture on the bed each evening. The best part of the room was the patio, complete with rocking chairs and a landscaped backyard with an amazing view of the volcano. It was a great site to wake up to each morning (although due to fog, the volcano was only completely visible in the afternoon). The resort, location and conveniences are excellent., reasonable and efficient. However the restaurant, especially the wait staff made it a sour experience. Over the course of three days, they were consistently disinterested and rude - especially the head waiter. This hotel was perfect for our active stay in Costa Rica, but was also a great place to relax and take in the scenery. The room was spacious and the mostly private patio was an awesome place to relax and bird watch. The hot spring was just the right temperature to relax those sore muscles and the pool offers a wet bar and more views of the volcano. […] In fact you can see the volcano from virtually anywhere you would want to be. The breakfast buffet that was included was so delicious. They offered eggs, rice and beans, and the remaining 3 hot items revolved -- potatoes, veggies, pancakes, sausage, and french toast. They also offered an omlett station and a station that made handmade tortillas one day and french toast the next day. There were fresh fruits, pasteries and cereal, plus juice, fruit smoothies and coffee. We arrived early to breakfast and it seemed like everyone else did too. Bring a small flashlight if you plan to walk the hotel premises at night just to light your way -- not completely necessary, but helpful. Lunch and dinner at the hotel is a little pricey and not as tasty as the breakfast. Have a couple of meals in town -- Don Rufino's is about the same price as the hotel but the food tasted better. Unless you run marathons in high humidity, I suggest expecting to pay for private shuttle/taxi/ or renting a car. The next property is a half mile away if you grow tired of meals at Manoa and beyond that maybe two miles to the next property after that. These are not criticisms -- just observations... The hotel is close enough to Tabacon, Sky Trek, and town, but I went in thinking we could walk to a few things, but we barely made it to the main road without feeling the effects of the heat and humidity. I also bought spa service, but I was told that it must be done in the room. I had the body wrap done and would not recommend it because you get fruit chunks from the table to your bathroom and in the shower drains. Instead head in to town (Los Suenos) -- it may Mehr

This hotel is actually a huge property with duplex style rooms spread throughout. Our room was sited to have a perfect view of the volcano through the large glass door/wall. Grounds were beautiful, pool with a swim-up bar was great!

We were only there a night because our travel plans required that we head out to the Pacific coast the day after our arrival in CR. This was a sort of treat since we would normally have just spent the night in San Jose and headed to our destination the following day. The road to get to La Fortuna from San Jose was really winding and made the seemingly […] short distance in km feel a lot longer in time but we're really glad we decided to stop here. The hotel grounds are beautiful and very well-kept. I loved the sound of the running water of the river that flows through the grounds. Our dinner there was good but fairly expensive. We spent about $60 on dinner and one drink each. The hot springs were my favorite part. With a swim-up bar and wonderfully warm water, we were able to relax in the cool evening while enjoying the natural spring water. They have great happy hour specials and friendly staff. The only complaint about the room is that we could hear our neighbors through the walls (particularly in the bathroom. Thankfully, you won't spend much time in your room since there is a lot to see and do in the area. I also wish they had screens on the patio doors so that if you wanted to have fresh air at night, you could, without letting bugs in. Mehr

Very clean and nice resort. The pool is beautiful. However, it will cost you 12 usd to take the taxi to town (each way). They just have a new hot spring but really nothing to be brag about.

Fabulous view of Arenal. Five nights was alittle much for the area but very relaxing. The pools were great with the swim up bars. Did all the tourist stuff: zip-lines, Tarzan swing, canyoning, white water rafting, hanging bridges, Hiking. The hotel staff made all our reservations. The spa services were very nice at at the hotel. The breakfast was fine […] but the same everyday.The restaurant was always empty so we would order and eat on our porch and watch for an eruption. We saw a beautiful evening eruption. The room was very nice and the bathroom was cool. No clocks in the room so bring a travel alarm (they do have wake-up calls). For the money this was a great place to stay in Arenal. Mehr

The hotel is lovely with outstanding views of Arenal Volcano. The rooms are simple but very comfortable with huge windows that allow excellent views of the volcano. Each room has a patio with chairs to relax and watch the temperamental volcano. The beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are large with a simple tropical decor. The grounds are very pretty. […] There are two pool areas: one regular (though cleverly built) and the other is a series of hot springs. Both pool areas have full bars and you can order your meal to be enjoyed poolside. The staff couldn't be friendlier. Breakfast buffet is included. It isn't very fancy, but there is delicious coffee and some yummy juices. All in all, an simple but elegant hotel for a terrific price. Note that the hotel is about a 5-10 minute drive away from Fortuna, which is the nearest town. It is close to other larger hot springs facilities as well as Puretrek Adventures which I also highly recommend. The restaurant serves lunch and dinner, but frankly speaking, the food was uninspired. Truly beautiful hotel and convenient to all Arenal activities. One caution: if you're coming from La Fortuna, it's a little tough to find. You'll need to take a hard right at the Volcano Lodge, about 5km from town. Really gorgeous facility. Hope to return some day.

This hotel was beautiful. The view was breathtaking and so relaxing. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The receptionist made a mistake in booking our transportation dates a day later. When she figured out her mistake, she called a taxi to take us on the five hour drive at the expense of the hotel. The breakfast is delicious!! Would definately […] recommend this hotel. Mehr

I loved this place! The view my our room was incredible, the service outstanding and very friendly. And to think I almost didn't book here because they kept mentioning 'being near cows'. I was concerned about possible odor. An added bonus for bird lovers was the variety of colorful birds. I don't usually get excited about 'hotels' but I am about […] this one. Mehr

Hotel was extremely nice. Each room is nicely maintained and the bathrooms are decorated with an open shower and lots of light. Each room has an outdoor patio that faces the volcano (but the lava flows on the other side ) and the rooms are a good size. An additional bonus was the tour to the Manoa farm (which was free). This was a great place to stay. Especially during the green season the price is reduced and totally worth it. Had a great view of Arenal Volcano, when the clouds weren't blocking it. Only complaint was no gym that I saw. Great location and awesome breakfast. Cool free guided farm tour too.

This was the best hotel I've stayed at for the price. Each room beautifully decorated and has amazing porch view of hotel. Service was amazing! The young lady who works the front desk is such a sweetheart. Although no spa on property, recommend the spa that they refer you to! Wouldnt stay anywhere else if I returned to the area!

great place to stay witha great view of arenal volcano the staff here go way beyond and make your vacation the best possible take the free farm tour and ask about other tours in the area they were able to offer many tours and at great savings instead of booking them yourself.

Ett mycket bra hotell nära den viktigaste sevärdheten. Hotellet hade en mycket bra service med att boka turer. Rummen ligger i enplanshus. Vi hade en terrass med fantastisk utsikt mot vulkanen. Det fanns en stor bra pool med bar. Det fanns även en mindre med uppvärmt vatten från varma källor där man kunde simma till baren, sitta i det varma vattnet […] med en kall öl. Denna var även öppen på kvällen. Ligger några km från närmaste stad, La Fortuna, men det var lätt att ordna taxi både på hotellet och i staden. Jättefin restaurang, naturligtvis med utsikt mot vulkanen med god mat och fina viner. Mehr

Es un hotel que se encuentra en excelentes condiciones, con un mantenimiento muy bueno, la ubicación es apta para desplazarse a los diferentes centros de atracción, es nuestra primera elección en la zona
