Die Pyramiden sind zwar nicht fußläufig zu erreichen, aber wenige Kilometer von der Anlage entfernt. Leider ist das Hotel jedoch mal sehr schön errichtet, nun jedoch durch mangelhafte Pflege auf einem Stand, dass ich das nächste Mal woanders buchen werde.

Liegt nahe an den Pyramiden an einer Hauptverkehrsstraße. Hierdurch und durch Einfachverglasung ist es auch nachts in den Zimmern nicht besonders ruhig. Unser Zimmer war auf den ersten Blick sauber- bis wir die Betten verschoben haben... hier wurde wohl schon sehr viel längern nicht mehr gereinigt. Die Zimmer sind eigentlich schön, aber werden nicht […] gewartet: Abfluß im Waschbecken verstopft, Toilettenspülung schließt nicht wieder etc..... Das Frührstück war gut, das Personal sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir hatten ein Familienzimmer mit 4 Betten (1 Doppelbett und 2 Einzelbetten) bestellt, bekommen haben wir ein Doppelzimmer mit zwei großen Einzelbetten plus ein Beistellbett... Am Hotel gibt es einen bewachten Parkplatz. Die Poolanlage ist o.k. Zusammengefaßt ist das Hotel nicht besonders gut, aber für den Preis o.k.... Besser gefällt mir Longchamps in Zamalek, nur leider gibt es dort keine Parkmöglichkeiten... Mehr

Positiv: Das Zimmer ist sehr groß und geräumig. Die Sauberkeit ist für ägyptische Verhältnisse sehr gut, für Europäer gerade ausreichend. Die Anlage ist schön und zumindest unser Zimmer war sehr ruhig (kein Strassenlärm). Man kann vom Balkon aus eine der Pyramiden sehen. Negativ: Die Erreichbarkeit der Rezeption und des Zimmerservice ist sehr mangelhaft. […] Die Putzfrau kam mehrfach unmittelbar nach dem Klopfen ins Zimmer. Der Frühstücksraum ist zum Teil sehr schmutzig, die Auswahl beim Frühstück ist beschränkt und wird weiter durch die Tatsache eingeschränkt, das nicht zeitnah nachgefüllt wird, dies gilt auch für Gläser und Tassen, Gläser und Tassen immer genau anschauen, die Sauberkeit ist auch hier mangelhaft. Der Taxiservice des Hotels ist überteuert. Lieber die 100m bis zur Hauptstraße vorgehen und dort ein Taxi nehmen und den Taxizähler laufen lassen, dies erspart zu teure Fahrten und langes Verhandeln (Taxifahrer waren zu 100% einverstanden und haben es z.T. selbst vorgeschlagen). Fazit: Keine 4 Sterne, aber für ägyptische Verhältnisse gut. Wir würden es wieder buchen, denn ein vom Preis her vergleichbares besseres Hotel ist schwer zu finden. Mehr

Hotel ist Ruhig! Frühstück ist ok! sowie auch die meisten Hotels in Kairo sollte noch auf Sauberkeit geachtet werden!!! Allgemein: für den Preis ist das Hotel gut bis Sehr gut!

Da verzeiht man das die die Dusche zwischen kalt und brühend heiss selbst entscheidet und das Zimmer-Cardsystem lausig funktioniert. Dafür sind die Angestellten sehr bemüht und freundlich.

Das Hotel ist an der Ring Road, gut mit Auto zu erreichen. Hat einen bewachten, kostenlosen Parkplatz. Blick vom Balkon auf die Gizeh Pyramiden und schöne Poolanlage. Drei Restaurants im Haus, zu empfehlen nur wenn man Angst hat vor regionalen Küche hat. Die Umgebung typisch Kairo. Netter Service .

Der Hotelservice war recht zufriedenstellend, Beispiel: Wir kehrten abeds aus der Stadt Zimmer, stellten fest, dass der WC- Abzug nicht funktionierte, wir riefen die Rezeption an. Nach ca. 5 min. war ein Techniker da.. Was der Zustand des Hotels anbetrifft fanden wir es schade, dass so ein neues und eigentlich gut gebautes Hotel nicht ausreichend gewartet […] wird; Beispiel: Stange an der Badewanne bereits verrostet und nicht mehr richtig fixiert... Insgesamt war das Zimmer allerdings gut. Bezüglich Sauberkeit des Zimmers: Auf Putzfrauen war nicht immer Verlass!! Das Hotel ist relativ weit weg von der Stadt, je nach Verkehrslage bis zu einer Stunde mit dem Taxi, es ist aber Pyramiden nah. Das Hotel bietet Taxi- Service an, aufpassen: Zu teuer, es ist besser, man nehme ein Taxi von der Str., man braucht nur eine Minute zu laufen bis zur Hauptstrasse. Wir haben ein Taxi für 5 Tage angeheuert, 200 Pfund pro Tag (ca. 25 Euro). Mehr

Das Hotel hat eine sehr schöne Aussicht auf die Pyramiden gehabt, leider ist die Autobahn direkt vor dranen gebaut worden. Ansonsten kann ich das Hotel nur weiter empfehlen.

This hotel is located in the Giza area of Cairo. It is about 4.5 miles from the centre of Cairo, and about 1.5 miles from the Pyramids. I got an amazing deal through hotels.com for 10 nights. Even though I booked, and got an economy room, it was very spacious, as was the bathroom, and had a fridge. The bed had a lovely firm mattress, for a great nights […] sleep. The shower had great pressure, with constant hot water. There's a wonderful huge pool, with plenty of sun loungers. The restaurants serve pretty good food at very good prices. Even room service is not at all that expensive. The hotel has its own taxi service, which is still cheap compared to the west. Outside the hotel, cheaper taxis wait, and a price can be arranged for where you want to go. Just around the corner to the right of the hotel on the main road, is a local supermarket. Great for stocking up your inroom fridge with water and snacks, and so cheap. Free wifi is available in the lobby area 24/7. It is rather outside downtown, but I found that to be a blessing. Downtown Cairo is a cheap cab ride away. Or better yet, get a cab to the Giza metro, and take the metro into the city for only one Egyptian pound. I walked to and from the Pyramids several times, about 20mins each way. On two occasions I even walked from Giza metro station back to the hotel. That walk is not for the faint hearted!! Mehr

solid hotel, decent location. staff is friendly and the place is clean. tourism in giza/cairo is lagging big time, and it shows everywhere. the whole place has a sad atmosphere, and the hotel was the same. i imagine when the industry is booming it would be a lively place. but, as is, the hotel was clean and fine.there is nothing wrong with the hotel. […] it just seems a little desolate. the breakfast buffet was lacking though. overall, it does the job and the price is fine. oh, no alcohol. and the tour guide info person in the lobby was very good. The only thing which you will find useful for this hotel is it's value for money and close proximity to the pyramids. Else this hotel is far from Cairo city center. A big negative for this hotel is its poor customer service ! But not sure if I should complain considering the price I paid for this hotel was not exorbitant.

March 2013, emailed hotel asked for top floor pyramid view room 1513.paid 100LE to get to the hotel from the airport, 30LE to get to the museum or dinner cruise area. hotel charged 100LE to take us to the pyramids and drive us from one pyramid to the other and wait for us while we walked around (took 3 hours) Pyramid experience was spoiled by harassing […] Egyptians trying to sell anything and everything. best to get a taxi outside the hotel &agree on price before you start. The Pharaohs Cruise was great and the museum has the most amazing display of history. The people in the business center in the hotel were helpful and honest. You can use their computers and pay 30LE for 1/2hour internet access. The food in the hotel was lovely &very reasonably priced 100LE for 2 courses for 2 people. Be prepared for a very 3rd world experience - no police, driving chaos on the roads &litter everywhere. You can wear what you like around the hotel but it is advisable, for women, to cover up outside the hotel - the men will stare and approach you, making you more of a tourist target (to be overcharged for everything) and very uncomfortable. Don't get ripped off by the shops in the hotel - the supermarket around the corner from the hotel (5 mins walk up the main street away from the pyramids) sells papyrus pictures for only 15LE (not the 100 the shop charges) Other shops up that area will charge 30LE for the 3 pyramid figures. Location: It's good it's close to pyramids, but horrible area, you can't walk really anywhere. I hoped I could just enjoy the swimming poool, but it's in front of the hotel and just below 4 lines highway. the small swimming pool was full of garbage of all kinds. people at the reception kept me for nearly an hour to understand what a booking through expedia means and the to prepare the room. when I last got the room, it was completely different fron the one displayed on expedia. I was booking for 2 adults and 3 children and I was told that the room would […] include two double beds, but it included two single beds, and when I asked for a third bed, people at the reception said they do not have any extra beds available. The area around the hotel is very dirty. at the morning, there was a water cut for nearly 30 minutes. the water in the shower turned from very hot to very cold every now and again and unexpectedly. We had a room with several problems with the water, toilet doesnt work and shower either. Overall hotel is not clean. We had a room with breakfast included, but they charged the breakfast AGAIN after checkout. Breakfast was very poor indeed. I will definetively dont go agein and dont recomend...

Good was fasting so they made provision in Ramadan for early breakfasts . Watch out for man with camel he can be very pushy for tips. Pyramids are 5 mins away and should cost no about £1.00 but you will prob pay £2.00 or 20egp.

Interesting hotel: a peaceful hotel in a weird area. Giza is a dirty, noisy and crowded area. Giza is full of life, but the dirt, people, pollution and refuse just get under one's skin. The hotel is a pleasant oasis in the middle of all this, although with the increased urbanization of the local area it is losing its privacy and views of the pyramids; […] its closeness to the pyramids is maybe not important, as most people will take a taxi anywhere (although you can walk to the main entrance to the pyramids - it takes about 25 mins). One could stay in a downtown Cairo hotel, which will be more expensive but also less noise and dirty surroundings. Food is ok in the hotel, but maybe there could be more local dishes in the restaurants. Mehr

Service in the hotel was quite poor. Breakfast not good and food poor in Italian restaurant. Pool area quite nice, but overall location "under highway" not too attractive if you don't hapen to like heavy traffic next door.

This is an islamic Hotel, the bar is limited to local wine and some imported beer. The property is quite nice, but the Hotel is in front of the elevated Ring Road Highway and an ugly canal. You can easily walk to the main road to catch a local cab, once you escape the hawking of the local cab drivers in front of the hotel. The Hotel has cars with driver […] available for about 300 pounds or 50 dollars per day, which are very convienent to see the Pyramids and other local sights. A city cab is best to get to the Egyptian Museum and other tourist sights. Breakfast was quite nice, dinner ok, and the prices ok. It was a bit cool, but my room did not have any heating. Other people did have heat in their rooms. Intenet was good, but about 17.00 US dollars for two days, a bit expensive. The Hotel was a good value. Would use it again, but only in the summer. Mehr

The hotel is located in the worst neighborhood with a elevated freeway right above it and heaps and heaps of nasty trash underneath the freeway and right across […] from the hotel. Dirt and filth surround the hotel. Guest service at the hotel was horrible and totally unacceptable. The room was very comfortable. The amenities were a plus. As a backpacker, I needed a break from the hostel living. I really felt pampered at Grand Pyramids. My only complaint regarding this place is the charge for internet service. A 4 star hotel should have free wi-fi. Even hostels have free wi-fi.

Hotel wasn't as pushy as others indicated (for taxis, tours, etc.), we were completely independent. Service excellent. Room clean for Egypt. Noise from road not as bad as expected. Nice mall a couple minute walk away, with grocery store in the lowest level. Only weird thing is that they did not provide water for breakfast.

We got the overnight train from Aswan to Cairo and highly recommend staying out at Giza ofr your first night in Cairo so that you can seemlessly go and visit the pyramids which are only a 20 minute walk form the hotel down an intersting street. The hotel is a generic 4 star hotel with a lovely pool. Rooms are nice and comfortable with all the services […] that you'd expect. My one main complaint - as with most higher end hotels - was the cost of the wifi internet connection - 100 EGP or approx 11GBP for a 24 hour period, which is an absolute rip-off. However, the room was an absolute bargain comparatively speaking, so I guess only a minor problem! Mehr
