Sauberes Hotel mit sehr schönem Strand. Restaurants sind mit Taxi oder lokalem Bus erreichbar.

Das Hotel liegt an einer Hauptstrasse, ist aber dennoch ruhig. Aufgrund seiner Lage ist es leicht zu finden, sowohl mit Mietwagen als auch mit Bus. Die Bushaltestelle ist nur wenige Fussminuten entfernt. Vor dem Hotel ist ein großer Parkplatz, auf dem man umsonst parken kann. Zum Oistins Fischmarkt sind es ca. 10 - 15 min zu Fuss. (Der Fisch dort ist […] lecker u. günstig. Wird frisch vor den Buden gegrillt.) Die Hotelzimmer sind groß u. geräumig. Neben Bad u. Balkon ist auch eine kleine Küchenecke vorhanden. Diese enthält Gasherd, Toaster u. Kühlschrank. Frühstück/Essen kann im Hotel gegen Zahlung eingenommen werden. Die Mehrzahl der Hotelgäste kommt aus Großbritannien oder Kanada. Folglich besteht das Frühstück aus Toast, Marmelade u. warmen Speisen. Da wir generell morgens nicht warm essen, haben wir uns das Frühstück in einem nahegelegenen Supermarkt gekauft u. dann stets lecker auf dem Balkon gefrühstückt. Im allgemeinen ist das Essen im Hotel gut. Täglich gibt es zwischen 17:00 u. 18:30 Uhr "Happy Hour". Man kann 3 bestimmte Cocktails sowie Banks-Bier bestellen u. erhält jeweils 2 Gläser/Flaschen von dem bestelltem Getränk. Gezahlt wird aber nur eins. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich. Essen kann man auf einer schönen Terrasse mit direktem Blick aufs Meer. Das Hotel hat einen direkten Zugang zum Strand. Es sind aber auch 2 Terrassen u. 1 kleine Wiese mit Liegen vorhanden. Desweiteren gibt es noch 1 Pool u. 3 Whirlpools draussen. Im Hotel gibt es noch einen Shop, wo man englischsprachige Zeitungen/Zeitschriften, Zigaretten sowie Geschenkartikel erwerben kann. Der Shop wird von der sehr netten Deborah geleitet, die auch für die Organisation von externen Ausflügen/Touren innerhalb des Hotels zuständig ist. Mietwagen können auch über das Hotel gebucht werden. Im allgemeinen sind wir höchst zufrieden mit dem Hotel. Das Personal ist stets sehr zuvorkommend gewesen. Der Service ist sehr gut für den Preis. We were happy with our stay, wish we knew about this hotel earlier in the month when we first arrived. It is on the beach with incredibly beautiful white sand and the caribbean sea. It is easy to take public transportation just outside the hotel to Bridgetown, shopping, grocery , the Gap etc and it is very affordable. Taxis are always available, chk […] with the hotel staff on pricing. This hotel is way from being a 4 stars not even a 3 ,and on its website it saids it was builted in 2005 ,WRONG,i know from other visitors its was there 15 yrs and the same then .last day we had no hot water for a shower ,elevator didn't work ,had to make to trips to take our luggage down 3 flights of stairs ,we asked for a wakeup call ,which we never […] got ,its a good thing my husband work up or else we would have missed out flight ,no glass on the windows only wooden shutters and we had to close them by han the handles were broken ,very close to the street and because it was all open to the outside the noise was bad .not at all what there website saids .was not impressed . The hotel was okay. It looked a little run down and like it hadn't been updated since the 70s. However, it was on the beach and within walking distance of Oistin's fish fry market. The restaurant at the hotel was overpriced and left a lot to be desired in regards to flavor and options. If you are looking for a reasonably priced hotel close to a bus, the Oistins Fish Fry and on the beach, it's a good choice. It's not fancy, but clean and the staff is extremely welcoming.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this hotel> the room was spacious, clean and light. Even though we did not have a sea view it was still great> Shops are nearby and its within walking distance to St Lawrence Gap and Oistins.

Just returned from 8 days at Butterly Beach Hotel (Feb 9-17). I was a little apprehensive about staying at Butterly from some of the reviews I had read beforehand. However, we had a wonderful time . The rooms were very clean. They were a little dated, but for the price, were very nice. Rooms were very large, and bed was comfortable. We had an ocean […] front room, which I would recommend, as it was so nice to listen to the sounds of the surf, and you don't hear any traffic on the ocean side. Breakfast was good. Grocery is only a few blocks away, which was nice as the rooms have a kitchen. Oistens is only about a mile away, and the Fish Fry on Friday nights is very good there. St. Lawrence Gap is only a few miles up the road, with some excellent restaurants also. I had read some negatives about the staff, but they were wonderful to us. Very helpful in arranging a rental car for us. However, you could save some money renting the car yourself. The beach on either side of the deck was so nice to walk on. We were pleased with this hotel-right on the seafront. .We had an island view studio on the 3rd floor. The kitchenette was perfectly adequate for our needs, breakfast and snacks and the fridge was a must for drinks etc. Our room was cleaned daily with fresh towels,and the room had A/C and a fan. The restaurand was adequate-we ate there a few times, […] service was on local time-not rushed, but hey, we were on holiday. We were glad that we were on room only basis,as most of the meals were not to our taste. (Fried food and deep fried food) We had always planned to sample the local restaurants anyway.The local bus went from outside the door to most places on the island. This made going out at night very easy. St Laurance Gap with its restaurants, bars and nightlife was just 5 mins away on the bus and cost very very little per trip. The hotel had a pool and nice grounds. My only grumble was that there were insufficient sunbeds and umbrellas available. However the beaches were only a short busride away. All in all,for the price, I would recommend this hotel-all the staff were unbelieveably friendly and helpful. Mehr

The Hotel was wonderful and the people could not have been nicer or more helpful. Good restaurant, nice pool and hot tubs and a beautiful swimming beach. Only drawback was closeness to busy road which was noisy and walking to stores or restaurants was difficult due to lack of sidewalks. We would return.

Location was nice. Restaurant had a female employee with a bad attitude so we reported her to front desk. Manager came and apologized which was nice. Beach was beautiful!

A great room with a tropical feel on the beach. Friendly staff, clean and safe. Lots to see in walking distance, including the fishmarket in Oistins.

The hotel is not the fanciest ever, but, it is next to the beach, which is amazing, it has a nice pool, staff is very nice and friendly, they do their best, they are really nice people, you will feel home. Bedrooms are ok, but well, you can not ask more for what you pay.

Butterfly Beach Nov/Dec 2011 Butterfly Beach is in a great location, close to the action in Oistins. The beach was awesome, all the amenities we needed were available. Our one bedroom unit was quite spacious and there was a daily happy hour. Despite the crush for parking spaces we enjoyed our stay at Butterfly Beach Hotel.

Room was very basic, clean, bed really too softy (beat-up) ... not happy with this place. Checked-out after one night.

We have stayed there several times and always enjoy the low-key ambiance of this hotel. Stall extremely welcoming,helpful and friendly. Slightly disappointing evening menus and entertainment but catering quality very good, just a bit 'samey' during the week. They also need to overhaul their entertainment schedule, same as last year and probably several […] years - however, only a five minute bus ride to St Lawrence Gap for more action. The stay was prefect however, the restaurant food need to be upgraded and the staffs were not as friendly as the other staffs members.

Hotel had great little restaurant right on the beach, which was gorgeous and very private. When we were there was not crowded at all. Close to bus pick up. Front desk people were great and helpful. Only thing I didnt like was the towel fees you had to pay for using more than one towel that was provided for you in the bathrooms....

IThe location was not as great as I thought, Bridgetown is not that close by, but the staff was very helpfull and help booked a taxi for early morning. The staff was great, and always ready to help. I found the hotel really good. A nice beach and pool, plenty of lounges. The manager's reception Monday night was a nice touch. The manager was very friendly and outgoing and it is unfortunate many of the staff did not have this same attitude. The room was really large and had a nice balcony. The cleaning staff was very friendly. (There was a bit of […] sand on my floor and a few ants but they did a really great job cleaning otherwise.) Certainly not so for the restaurant or security staff. Security would not even acknowledge you and the restaurant staff was very aloof and not proactive. There was info available on area attractions but I never saw anyone at the activities desk. Apparently there was a shuttle to Bridgetown but I was not told by hotel staff, but instead fellow travelers. At check-in, I received no info except my room number. The other service I received from the front desk staff was much better. Overall, a positive experience. I believe you would enjoy this hotel whether you wanted to simply lounge on the beach / by the pool or were just looking for a place to lay your head. It is on a main bus route and you can get to Bridgetown and restaurants/bars (St. Lawrence Gap) and the fish fry (Oistins) very easily. There is parking if you have hired a rental car. The food is okay and is not overpriced, but I would recommend trying the other restaurants available on the island. Overall, despite some shortcomings in the staff, a great hotel and experience. Butterfly hotel was was affordable choice in Barbados at the heart of Oistins. It is only a 20min drive from the airport and has access to it's own beach. We found it convinently located and comfortable. The only negative would be the quality of sleep, we found the beds to be slightly uncomfortable. Here is the bottom line on this hotel: It is on the beach, inexpensive and good quality at a reasonable price. It attempts to be a resort hotel but falls just short. There are kitchenettes with fridge and stove but no microwave - big mistake. The restaurant is rather expensive with a limited menu. The surrounding area has only a Chinese place and a […] bar within walking distance. Taxis are expensive but the bus/maxi service is directly on the same road and inexpensive. However, taking the bus or maxi is confusing and uncomforting to know if you will return or not? The hotel rents cars but most have no doors and are stick shift (on opposite side of car since they drive on other side of road). The location of the hotel is good for beach access and access to Accra beach and Bridgetown. Harrison Cave, Wildlife Reserve and other attractions are well away and will be pretty close to price of hotel to book at hotel as a tour. The room itself was standard - king bed. We had a child with us so we got a roll away bed. Staff was good but our accent led to communication problems with housekeeping. Front desk was good about getting taxis when needed and directions in the area. The hotel is not a cambio and exchanging money in the banks was difficult with many banks refusing unless using US dollars or ATM exchange. The hotel said it was oceanview but like all 15 of the rooms in our section of the hotel complex, one had to go out on the balcony lean over the rail to see the ocean. If you are looking for a large bay window to view the ocean, this hotel is not for you. The place was quiet, there were not too many kids there while we were there but the pool was maintained well. The hot tubs were not heated but bubbling mechanisms worked well. There was no dress code but the hotel did ask that casual dress be used if all possible. It was an upgrade hotel. We were very pleased with our stay at the Butterfly Beach. The room was very nice overlooking the sea and well maintained. The staff was outstanding with their friendliness and helpfulness. On returning to Barbados we would stay here every time. The only thing I would suggest is an ice machine!

I probably would recommend this hotel to my friends and family however I got away from noisy NY hoping to find peace and quite. What I did find was loud banging of room doors until 11pm. Very annoying.! Perhaps the hotel can install some mechanism to slow the doors down as they are closing.

We stayed at Butterfly Beach for 5 nights. The hotel is across the street from a bus stop which is great to use. We took the bus from the airport to the hotel (20 min for $1USD). Hotel restaurant does not have much selection. Breakfast hotel was okay-eggs, sausage, cereal. Our room has an island/garden view. Room looks old and bathroom could use some […] upgrade. Bring your own beach towels and shampoo/toothpaste. There is a stove and fridge in the room along with a tube TV. The beach access is located at the hotel. Pretty views. I was very happy at this hotel. The staff was exceptional- very attentive and they actually made me feel very safe and looked after. The room was clean and comfortable. There is a bus stop right nearby, making it very convenient to hop on a bus either direction and get where you need to go. Beautiful beach side location. Large, clean, comfortable room. I did not like the hotel food, but there were many great restaurants nearby at St. Lawrence Gap ($1 bus ride down the road).

We spent 2 weeks here and overall enjoyed it. It is very well located and it's great that it's on the beach. The rooms are a really good size. The negatives are that we had to wait often for clean towels to be brought to our room, we had to wait hours for beach towels, many of the sunloungers (of which there are not enough) need to be thrown away, there […] are certainly not enough umbrellas. Some of the staff could do with a course in customer service (just a smile occasionally would help), others were great. If you can ignore the irritations, it is a good place and we would actually return. It's just that it could be so much better for not much outlay in my opinion. And they only need to cut down one palm tree and many rooms would then have a much better view of the ocean! The food in the bar is usually good and happy hour is very popular. We returned to Butterfly Beach again this year prior to a cruise from Barbados. It is a very unpretentious place and many of the same people from the UK who were there last year were there this year. If you are looking for a 5 star, this is not. It is clean, all rooms have kitchenette and the staff is very friendly. There is a small beach but the water […] is extremely clean and wonderful! We've never used the pool. I would stay there again if ever in Barbados in the future. Why pay hundreds elsewhere for all the useless glitz when you can stay at a decent family run place? Mehr

The location is good, 10 min from Laurence Gap and in a quiet area (it will be a nightmare to stay in Laurence Gap, this area is super noisy). The hotel is in front of the water, with a beach on each side, and the beaches are nice and relatively quiet. The area is less upscale than the west coast, but the only thing that you will mess are the huge hotels […] and the people trying to sell you stuff, from our point of view the location of the hotel is much better than the commercial area in the west coast. The restaurant has acceptable drinks (but nothing to be too enthusiastic unless you are in happy hour), the food is boring and not really recommendable. There are three open-air jacuzzis, very recommendable for relaxing at the end of the day while drinking a beer. The rooms are quite big, with AC and fan, don't expect much luxury but they are clean and comfortable. Mehr

The hotel has a great beach,helpfull staff,phone in my room did not work well,kept cutting out.TV had no instructions couldn't find channels.The sheets had a funny smell as did the towels,didn't feel clean.Thay need new linens and bedspreads!!

Right on the beach. Good value for money. Cheap bus ride to Bridgetown. Helpful and friendly staff.

Although the rates were very affordable, the truth is you get what you pay for. Room was very small and uncomfortable. There were a few bartenders/restaraunt staff that were very nice but the majority of the staff was rude and not helpfull at all. The hotel is right on the beach, but thats about the only thing that the area has to offer.

The best part of the hotel stay was the location to the beach. Nice white sand beach. Make sure to carry along rubber flip flops or slippers for the room. Tile floor that is mopped daily in the mornings and when you leave your room . The prices at the restaurant and bar at the hotel is pretty reasonable compared to prices outside the hotel. Must check […] out Oistins fish fry on weekends, a 10 min walk from hotel. Or 5 min by bus. Bus service is great, busstop across the street. The hotel is good for the price. We chose this because it was between the airport and the docks. We were pleasantly surprised by the location on the water, the little kitchen and free internet connection. We would happily stay there for longer than the two nights we did. It was quite reasonably priced too. It seems to be handicapped accessible.
