Das Hotel ist grundsätzlich zu empfehlen. Die Zimmer sind modern eingerichtet und sauber. Zum Frühstück gibt es eine gute Auswahl, allerdings ist die Qualität der Speisen eher mäßig. Der Service im Restaurant war aufgrund der vielen Gäste nicht so gut, allerdings der an der Rezeption wieder sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir hatten Probleme das Hotel […] zu finden, da es in einer kleinen Seitenstraße liegt und nicht so bekannt zu sein scheint. Um die City zu erkunden, hat das Hotel eine sehr gute Lage, da man alles bequem zu Fuß erreichen kann. Leider befindet sich das Hotel aber an einer Straßenecke und der Verkehr ist durch die Pflastersteine recht laut. Für einen Kurztripp im Ergebnis gut geeignet! Mehr

Wir waren sehr zufrieden. Lage sehr gut, alles schnell zu Fuß erreichbar. Frühstück haben wir vor Ort gebucht. War sehr umfangreich und lecker. Das Personal ist freundlich. Wir können das Hotel auf jeden Fall weiter empfehlen.

Ein sehr schönes und modernes Hotel mit nettem Personal - die Royal Mile ist gut zu Fuß zu erreichen und es gibt sehr nette Lokale in der Nähe. In vollem Umfang zu empfehlen.

The hotel is very well located, right in the midle of the city. And yet the room was very silent! The breakfast was boring, but there're plenty of nice coffe shops in the area. The room was comfortable and clean. A bit small, but all in all, very good! I'd definately recomend the hotel, but book without breakfast!

Very unenthusiastic welcome from reception staff set the tone for the rest of the stay. The room was small and dark, and was looking a little tired and run down. The location's not bad - only a ten minute walk to Waverley station. The hotel is really new and rooms are huge, bathroom really nice and also the shower. The only drawback is that the cleaning of the room was really bad. It was done until 6 pm, we came back to the hotel at 4pm to take a nap and the room was still undone. We asked them to do the service and they did it an hour later. Dirty cups were left behind in our […] room, no change in the linen and very bad presented. Breakfast is good but not included, it cost 9.50£ per person/per day. Overall, I could say that is not a bad hotel but very disappointed about the service. Mehr

A small friendly hotel in the heart of Edinburgh. The decor is a little tired in places but this is outweighed by the friendliness of staff and the excellent value of the accommodation and its location. Breakfast excellent value and well cooked..

clean, modern hotel in a great location for edinburghs royal mile attractions on foot. also within easy walk of train station 15 mins and princes street 20 mins. great value breakfast for £8. situated within the university area.

We stayed here for our second wedding anniversary. The hotel is enviably comfortable. The neighbourhood, of the hotel, is tranquil. The Hotel is certainly representative of its description.

This was our second time to stay here as we were so impressed the first time. We stayed here for our honeymoon and we were upgraded to a superior room as a result. There was also a present left in the room for us. The hotel is lovely and the staff are helpful and very pleasant. it is situated in a quiet area less than a 10 minute walk from the Royal […] Mile. We had dinner in the restaurant and the food was delicious. All in all a great place to stay. We may be back for our first anniversary. Mehr

The room looked good, but the housekeeping and maintenance were sub-standard. There were sticky rings on the bedside table and it was impossible to close the shower screen, so I could not have a shower in the morning. I was only staying one night, so it was not worth the effort of trying to change my room.

This hotel is clean, modern and eventhough it is centrally located is ever so slightly off the beaten track so isn't noisy at all. I had stayed there a couple of years ago and would definately go back. Highly recommended !

A lovely friendly hotel, impeccably clean and comfortable. Situated on a quiet side street, ten minutes walk from the Royal Mile. To show how enjoyable our stay was, the only criticism we have is that the breaksfast bacon was undercooked! Would definitely stay again

Lovely hotel close to all the sights of Royal Mile. Very friendly service and helpful with information. We enjoyed lovely clean rooms with new bathroom. Breakfast was excellent also. Would highly recommend.

Best characteristic of the hotel is its location. Within easy walking distance of the centre of Edinburgh and the walk is no bother as the city is lovely from any angle. Hotel lived up to expectation in terms of presentation. The room was clean and well furnished. The staff are very thoughtful. We recently stayed for a long weekend in Edinburgh at Ten Hill Place. The hotel itself is only 10 minutes walk from the Edinburgh Castle and is located on a main road with lots of shops/restaurants. The hotel itself was modern, very clean and very comfortable. We had a great experience there with helpful staff, great room and great location. The only […] downside was an unwanted wake up call at 4am and cleaners entering the room at 8:00am - the staff were very apologetic and it turned out they had checked out another couple under our room.... for our trouble we were given a free breakfast which did make up for the slight inconvenience. Overall, beautiful hotel, great spacious rooms (we had the Superior) and a great location. Would definitely stay there again! Mehr

Great hotel. Would recommend to anyone! The manager left us a personally written letter and gave us a free upgrade because we mentioned we were on our honeymoon. The room was very spacious and clean and the staff was very friendly. The hotel itself was somewhat difficult to find but was well located.

Convenient location given the very reasonable price. Modern rooms with plenty of room including sitting area.....veyr good value IF you book well enough in advance. 5-10 minute stroll to Princes St & castle.

Generally everything is good about this hotel, the price and the location was fine and within walking distance of the Royal Mile and Arthur's seat. The only issue that I did have with the hotel is that it weirdly had glass doors to the bathroom, whilst this is fine for showers or bath's I did find it very odd when going to the toilet!

Nice, clean, modern hotel, located near the old city center. 5 min walk from flybus. Cosy room w/ bathtub - but a very hard bed! Nice staff. Expensive breakfast - we chose to have breakfast for half the price on a nearby café instead. Extra praise for the fair trade/ecological awareness in the hotell. We defenitely recommend this place.

I was pleasantly surprised by 10 Hill Place, I had to book it urgently due to change of plans and they provided a wonderful room, a quiet place around the corner of South Bridge, the street that walks you into town centre in 10 minutes. Lovely location,close to city center but quiet.Very friendly staff. Our only comment would be that the fabric of the hotel shows signs of wear and tear ie the handle on our bathroom door was loose and difficult to shut and the temperature control knob for the shower could be turned up but not down so we found the water rather too hot (which we did report […] to reception). This hotel was a perfect place to explore Edinburgh. It's so close to everything, yet off a quiet street. The rooms are modern and well insulated. And free internet is greatly appreciated, especially for someone traveling abroad! Overall the room was very comfortable and well appointed and the bed was very comfortable. The windows are gorgeous and reveal […] just how much updating had been done to make the building as modern as it looked. Pros: - Good location. Close enough to be a short, pleasant walk to the Royal Mile, but far enough away to be very quiet. - Clean rooms. - Nice staff. - Never ate at the hotel, but the food always smelled and looked good. Cons: - Hotels.com lists Ten HIll Place as having wireless internet. This is not entirely accurate. The cafe has wireless internet. […] The rooms DO NOT have wireless internet. The rooms DO have a wired connection. The wired connection is listed as a high speed internet connection, but I never got above 500 kbps, which to me does not qualify as a high speed connection. - I'm six feet three inches tall, and found the bed to be irritatingly short. The pillows were also incredibly uncomfortable. This probably wouldn't be a big deal on a one or two night stay, but after a week, it did take it's toll. Overall: The price of the hotel makes it a bargain compared with a lot of similar places, and for the average traveller, I think Ten Hill Place would be a great, economical place to stay in Edinburgh. For travellers like me who are expected to be on call even when they're on vacation, the slow internet connection and lack of wireless can be a major drawback. Additional notes for people who do decide to stay at Ten Hill Place: There is a great coffee shop called Black Medicine a couple of blocks north of the Hotel on Bridge Street. Great coffee and pastries, scones, etc... Highly recommeded for a quick breakfast, or a pick-me-up on the way back to the hotel. Mehr

Hotel very clean. Room small but comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful. Hotel only 10-15 minutes from Royal mile and major attractions. Only 15-20 minutes walk from Airlink bus to airport. Would recommend hotel and Edinburgh to friends.

My wife and I stayed for 3 nights at 10 Hill Place Hotel. All very pleasant, nice room, friendly staff and conveniently placed for all of Edinburgh's many attractions and the university. Area around hotel fairly nondescript though not unpleasant. If we were to go back to Edinburgh (which we may well do cos it's great!) we would happily stay at this […] hotel again. Mehr

I can't rate this hotel highly enough. It was excellent value, especially as we found that we had been updated to a suite on our arrival! The fifth floor rooms have spectacular views over East Edinburgh and we were able to watch the sun rise over Arthur's Seat in the morning which was very special. The staff were super friendly and efficient, our room […] spotless and the breakfast tasty and plentiful. The hotel is very quietly situated on a square off Nicholson Street and is owned by the Royal College of Surgeons. All profits go back into the Royal College of Surgeons which, personally was also a big plus. There are no leisure facilities at the Hotel but a deal had been negotiated with a nearby hotel for a small fee. We would definitely return. Mehr

Ten Hill Place in Edinburgh is a wonderful, centrally located hotel situated in a quiet pocket. We didn't eat in the restaurant, so I can't comment on the food. Our room was very comfortable, spacious and clean. As we were suffering from a bit of jetlag, we napped in the afternoon on two occasions, and asked for wake-up calls to ensure that we didn't […] sleep too long (there is no clock radio in the room). While our morning wake-up calls went without a hitch, the late afternoon wake-up calls did not come through. Luckily, we woke up on our own anyway. The staff are friendly, helpful and professional. Our only complaint would be with the bathrooms. The lighting is very modern, but it is not good bathroom lighting as your face is in shadow, making it hard for my husband to shave and for me to apply make-up. This is a small thing though, and the bigger issue is the bathroom door - it is glass. While it is largely frosted (although there are strips of completely clear glass every 30cm or so), I do not want a glass door on the bathroom. Especially in a hotel room, where everything is close by, more privacy is necessary. On top of this, if you get up in the night turning on the bedroom light floods the sleeping area with light! I don't know who thought that a glass door was a good idea, but it's not. As I said, this is our only complaint. I would stay at Ten Hill Place again, and recommend it to anyone. Mehr

Hotel was lovely, room was really nice & its in a great location. Unfortunately there car-park is small so I couldnt get a space & ended up having to pay £15 for parking. Apart from that had a lovely stay

Conveniently situated away from centre ie less noise but easily within walking distance -would stay again .Very clean & tidy & ideal for what we wanted.

Great service, good hotel, clean nice rooms, great bathroom in the room i stayed. 7-8 min walk from the royal mile. A couple of very nice pubs and cafes close by. The breakfast is optional. I thought it was good but not great. Any cafe nearby will be just as good if not better.

We were visiting Edinburgh to see our son who is studying there so the room was only two minutes from his student residence in Robertson's Close. One of the places we wanted to visit was Surgeon's Hall which was just around the corner. In fact we were surprised to learn the hotel is owned by The Royal College of Surgeons who seem to own most of the […] block. The basin waste was blocked the first time we used it but this was put right quickly and without fuss. The room heating is fully adjustable if a little noisy but as we like a cool room at night we turned it off so no problems there. Didn't try breakfast so can't comment. Would definitely stay here again and will let you know how breakfast was! Mehr

We were happy with our stay of several nights. Staff was friendly and helpful with all our questions about restaurants, bus routes etc. Hotel was well maintained and our room was right on the street but since it was a very quiet street we slept well. Easy to get to all our destinations either by a short walk or a bus a block away. Would stay here a […] gain. Mehr
