This was our first trip to Melbourne and the Medina certainly made it memorable. The service was great and the room itself was amazing. Clean, spacious and modern, it became our home for 3 nights. We even tried the room service and the food was really good! The location is not in the CBD but only a 10/15 minute walk to Bourke St Mall and a 5 minute […] walk to the Crowne Casino and surrounding restaurants. Spacious, convenient, welcoming and exceptional value. Would stay again - a regularly executive traveller.

The Medina Executive Northbank was great for me as I stayed for 9 nights. Having a one bedroom apartment means that I had the convenience of laundry facilities in room and also a fully equipped kitchen. It is at the business district end of the CBD so a bit of a walk up to the mall and other shopping districts, and it is close to King Street which can […] feel a little unsavoury late at night (especially on the weekend). The pub next door did have loud music playing on Saturday night but it wasn't too bad if the window was closed. All in all it was very close to Crown Casino and well serviced by public transport even if the hotel service was a little lacking. Mehr

The Medina Executive Northbank is in a great location, close to Southbank, Casino, docklands and near most of the inner city attractions. The hotel is slightly better than average, definitely not a 4.5 star hotel but in my opinion better than a 3 star.

Stayed here overnight on a Saturday with a friend for her birthday. Was easy to get to, close to Crown and all other sights in the city as well as transport. We were pleasantly surprised by our room. Our stay was great until we decided to check out. I was told I would have to pay $80 because my infant threw up in the room and there was a stench. I could have sprayed some cologne to lessen the smell. The rooms also had a full kitchen, which means that if I cooked some horrendous smelling they would charge me for that too?? Stayed in an apartment suite. Requested a room with a view and a bottle of bubbly as we were coming from perth for my girlfriends birthday - her first trip over to melbourne. They delivered on the view and the bubbly was complimentary. Very tardy with the housekeeping and very respectful of your privacy. My only drama was the swipe cards; they kept […] demagnatising. Very annoying when you need to use them to use the lift and from coming out of the pool standing wet in a towel waiting for someone else to use the lift so you can go anywhere was very inconvenient. When I finally managed to get to the lobby and told them what happened they didnt seem to care. Other than that very good hotel, good for your buck and excellent location. Right outside a tram stop and walking distance to casino and shops. Theres also dominos, fish and chips, nandos and michels across the road so easy food/coffee access. Mehr

Seemed clean and the kitchen facilities was good. Friendly and serviceminded staff. The food was average. Make your own food or eat elswhere.

Stayed for 3 days at this great little hotel not far off the city centre. The rooms were spacious, clean and had all the necessary appliances and a few extra besides. Most surprising was the kitchen, complete with dishwasher, full oven, cooktop, fridge and microwave oven. The bathroom had bath and shower as well as washing machine and dryer. While reasonably […] near the centre, the surroundings were rather down at heel and very noisy. It took a while to get to sleep at night because of the train and tram noises. On the top floor was a pool, spa, sauna and gym which was most pleasant and hardly ever occupied. The small cafe beside the hotel produces great food at a very reasonable cost. Location was fine if you are a trainspotter, the map suggests it is closer to the river than it is. No restaurant on site, cafe next-door. Wooden chairs and basic comfort but food and service both excellent for breakfast. However if you book B&B beware - you are only allowed one item from the menu and have to pay extra for a second cup of coffee - which […] is not typical of hotels claiming to be 4*plus. Outrageous charge for Internet connection of 22$ for 24 hours. Good staff on reception. Pictures on website of hotel misleading paticulalrly of pool area that does not have sun loungers. The room itself and the location was more than adequate for our needs. It was very close to the Melbourne Exhibition and Conference Centre which was an important consideration. Transport right outside the hotel. The only disappointment was the pay for view movie option did not work.

Great location -- near (expensive) Southbank restaurants and nightlife, but also close to plenty of more reasonably priced and just as delicious restaurants. Also very convenient to museums, shopping, trains and metro. Very well appointed rooms with kitchen or kitchenette. Some rooms have balconies. From (and to) the Melbourne airport, the best way […] is to take the SkyBus to Southern Cross Station and walk 1.5 blocks to the hotel. About 20% of the cost of a taxi fare! Mehr

Stay was excellent. Staff were friendly and professional. Room was fantastic. Location was brilliant to crown casino and convention center. The Bad: pool repairs and noise from outside.

My colleague and i stayed total of five nights on two visits. First visit had ordinary room with kitchenette, big comfortable bed. Bright and clean. Did not interact with hotel staff much but they were friendly and helpful. On second stay, we were upgraded at no extra cost to suite with separate bedroom. Excellent facilities. Not just a business person's hotel. This was perfect in every way for our romantic trip away. Large room, huge windows, new finishes, friendly, helpful staff. Great coffee two doors up. On the tram line. A great stay.

It is really close to Spencer St and Melbourne Exhibition Centre which was what I wanted. Staff were helpful and polite and move me to a quiet room at the back away from Flinders Street. Would stay again.

I stayed at hotel for one night. This is the first hotel i have stayed at in Australia that put a hold on a certain amount of funds on your credit card "for incidentals" I mentioned that i would prefer to pay this in cash and have the cash returned to me at the end of my stay however was told that cash would not be accepted. I looked through the conditions […] of booking and did not find any details regarding placing funds on hold on a credit card. I understood the reason for the charge when i found out the exorbitant cost of the minibar contents. My room was on the second floor facing the main road which was very noisy. Although the windows were closed and the window coverings drawn, it still sounded like the windows were actually open so it is not the best place to stay at if you like a bit of peace and quiet. The room was clean, so clean that the smell of bleach was overpowering. I was told that for security reasons, i would need to swipe my room key to access my floor however i was able to use the lift to get to my floor without needing my room key which had me questioning security. The location was good. Only a 10 minute walk from Southern Cross Station and a 15 minute walk into the centre of Melbourne city. If i was short on cash i would consider this hotel. If you want a hassle free quiet stay then i would not stay here! Mehr

We chose this hotel because it is close to the Rialto building where we had dinner reservations. It is easy to get to by car, and staff were very helpful when I phoned for information about parking. The carpark is good and you park yourself, which I like. Some parks in Melbourne are so pokey the valet sometimes has to shuffle cars to get yours out and […] the wait can be inconvenient. It is an easy walk to the casino precinct (although we didn't go there), and a 10-15 minute walk to the Bourke St shopping precinct. It's also quite close to Southern Cross Station and Etihad Stadium. After reading reviews about possible noise issues, I requested a quiet room - we rate good sleep over views any day. We were very happy with the room, and the outlook across two meters into the window of the opposite building did not bother us - close the drapes, and we were only overnighting. The surrounding area is a bit grungy, nighclubby, so I wouldn't recommend being out late if you are nervous in these situations. Having said that, it is perfectly fine in daytime so don't let that put you off, as the price of the room represents very good value for money because of this, and the fact that you aren't slap bang in the middle of the shopping area. The bathroom and kitchen were clean, the bed was comfy, the heating worked well and the staff were friendly and efficient. I would stay here again if we needed to be in this locale. We have stayed at the Oaks on Collins for the same reason, and I would choose Medina over Oaks next time if the price was comparable. Mehr

Stayed 4 nights in August, the room was very roomy lovely big bedroom plus, great kitchen facilities and lounge room. Lovely colours, plenty of cupboards and it even had a balcony if you could brave the cold. Tram stop right out the front and a seven11 around and bottle shop. We were very pleasantly surprised with the spacious well appointed room given the very affordable price we paid. The location was absolutely perfect. Walking distance to Sthn Cross station for the airport shuttle. Walking distance to Crown Casino where we were attending an event. Trams right outside the door to go to Docklands or along the south edge […] of the city centre. We always stay at similar types of accommodation and this was right up the top of my favourites list! Really nice little place, friendly staff, a great cafe attached. Tram out the front and walking distance to the Convention Centre. Quiet, modern and very comfortable - would definitely stay there again.

The one bedroom appartment was fantastic, it had all the facilities you need. Clean room everyday as the maintanince stace where highly rated to our satisfaction. I would definatly stay there again next time i visit melbourne.

Unfortunately the outside noise made my stay very unpleasant at night time. Trams, trains and traffic were in very close proximity and were very noisy. It was also unfortunate that there was work being done on the Spencer St tram line 24 hours a day - machinery and earthwork vehicles could be heard very loudly all night.

We felt we received good value for this hotel - at the price paid & the hotel was quite adequate. Our apartment was a bit noisy though (8th floor) from the outside. Cleanliness of the rooms left a bit to be desired & is one of the reasons I marked this hotel down in grade. Rooms just got a quick lick, towels missing and sheets not changed when they […] should have been! The other reason for marking the hotel down is their $25 a day charge for WiFi Internet access. In this day & age, it should be offered free! And if you operate more than 1 mobile device, say a laptop & a smartphone or iPad, you need to pay $25 a day for EACH device! With more attention to room cleanliness and other details (like one of the lifts seemingly regularly being out of operation) and free Internet for guests, the hotel could be vastly improved. Mehr
