Palazzo Cendon - Le Mansarde - Venedig

Allein der erste Eindruck erschreckte. Keine Reception, alles sehr provisorisch. Das Frühstück war eine Zumutung, auf meine Beanstandung hin, wurde mir mitgeteilt, das ist in Italien halt so. Ich kam gerade von einem viertägigen Aufenthalt auf dem Lido, wo das Hotelfrühstück sehr üppig war. Zudem im Prospekt des Palazzo Cendon stand: kontinentales Frühstück. […] Ich finde das Hotel überteuert und ohne jeglichen Service. Ich würde es keinem empfehlen. Es gibt - darüber habe ich mich während der reise in Venedig informiert - bedeutend hochwertigere Hotels mit demselben Preis! Zudem finde ich es unverschämt, das der Betrag für das Zimmer sofort bei Buchung fällig ist. Ich habe keine Chance, wenn ich mit dem Preis-Leistungsverhältnis vor Ort nicht zufrieden bin, mich anderweitig zu orientieren. Zudem bekam ich nicht einmal eine Rechnung ausgehändigt. Dieses Hotel sollten sie besser nicht mehr vermitteln. Mehr

Angenehme ruhige Lage unweit des Bahnhofes. Freundliches Personal.

We stayed 4 nights at Palazzio Cendon in mid-August 2011, during Ferragosto which is supposed to be the most touristic and most expensive period in Italy. Nevertheless the price of the room was very reasonable for Venice and the location is very convenient, a 10-15 minute walk to the railway station and directly on the canal of Cannaregio in the Cannaregio […] neighbourhood near the vaporetto stop “Guglie”. We had a normal double room but for a few Euros more, you can hire a small suite with a baldaquin bed and a little balcony directly on the canal. The staff were very kind and helpful. The rooms are clean, with AC, minibar and nice furniture. There is a complimentary Prosecco bottle waiting for you. The TV is old and small but you’re not in Venice to watch TV anyway. The beds are very comfortable. In the bathroom, you get a kit with soap, shampoo and shower cap. Breakfast is included (juices, tea/coffee, cereals, fruit, bread). Wi-Fi against payment in the lobby only. I would recommend this hotel and would return myself on my next trip to Venezia. I liked : the staff, the value, the furniture, the location I disliked : the toilet brush (which looks older than Venice itself) ! Mehr

Das Preis Leistungsverhältnis stimmt. Frühstück für italienische Verhältnisse gut Freundliches Personal Inneneinrichtung wie Bad / Lift usw. gut

Ruhige Lage, 10 Minuten vom Bahnhof zu Fuss, Zimmer sehr einfach aber in Ordnung und sauber. Frühstück sehr, sehr einfach. Sprache nur Italienisch und Englisch.

This was very disappointing. Hotel concierge apparently working only from 8am til 8:30pm. When we arrivied at 6am to the hotel to leave our bags hotel was closed, there were no one there and we had to wait by the door for someone to come and open hotel till 8am. Hotel itself is very very small with tiny rooms even for European hotels. Trust me I stayed […] in a lot of hotels and even other once in Venice, this was the smallest and tiniest of all. The pictures of hotel views on website doesn't correlate at all. It is very hard to find since the number of the building doesn't exist. You suppose to guess that 533 and 532 is the same place. Breakfast had very few choices. Location is far from almost all tourist sights. I will never stay in this hotel again and would not recommend it. For price I paid it is defiantly not worth it. Mehr

For the amount we paid for this room, I expected a much nicer accomodations. .Photos of rooms on internet misleading. My bathroom was nicely done, but the room was tiny which would have been fine had it not been in needed of a serious update. Service was adequate, and not friendly. The Breakfast Buffet was very good.

The staff is friendly and accommodating, the room was spacious, and the bed was very comfortable. A charming building in a quiet part of town, not far from a main street with shops and restaurants. Easy to get to the big attractions, like Piazza San Marco and the Ca' D'Oro. Reasonable rates, light breakfast included. I would stay there again

I stayed here for 4 nights and throughout my stay, the staffs were really friendly and helpful. It's convenience in location, really Venice is not that big. I like it because it's right by the local residents of Venice, I got a really good feel of the local life style. Price was awesome! Thanks Hotel.com:)

My husband and I loved the location and spaciousness of this hotel. Venice is so small, you can walk to everything comfortably. So while this hotel is a good walk from the main attractions (San Marco), it was very close to the train station, making check-in and check-out a breeze. It was such a blessing not to have lug our baggage across bridges or […] long distances over cobblestone paths. The room we stayed in was on the top floor and very large for Italy. It was relatively quiet, with a very clean, modern bathroom and with an above average breakfast provided. The only downside worth mentioning was that the bed was too firm for our liking, but that's a very minor issue. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to others or come back again. Palazzo Cendon is about a 5-10min walk from the train station and you do not have to cross any bridges so it's pretty convenient for those brining in heavy luggage. The train station is also where you can catch the nearest water taxis. The room is small and a little dated but you're probably not in Venice to spend time in the room anyway. The bathroom […] is updated. It's in a quiet more residential part of town which we liked but if you want to be right in the middle of everything then this is not the place for you. From what we found it was much cheaper than the more central location and most importantly, it's out of the way of invading day trippers. Mehr

When you arrive in a city like Venice, it's a bit daunting because all the cabs are 'water cabs' and one doesn't always know which to take. You can walk to the Palazzo Cendon in about 10-15 min and at least get grounded in your hotel. It has 'old world' charm to it and located right on the canal. We had a room with a small balcony overlooking the canal […] and it absolutely capped our entire stay in Venice...walking distance to all boat stops but most of your real fun in Venice comes from 'walking the city'. Repeat...ask for a room overlooking the canal...it's worth it! Mehr

Very helpful staff answered all our questions about transport around venice and to the airport. Included breakfast was simple and convenient. Great bar next door with cool music and cocktails, it was nice to chillout there in the afternoon by the water away from the crowds. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Palazzo Cendon. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Found the hotel very easily with directions provided. A bit out of the way, but plus point to this is neighbourhood is a bit quietier and less touristy. The hotel is in a great location and walking distance to several restaurants and shops. The staff are super helpful and friendly. The only downside was that the wifi was only available in the lobby, which was kind of a pain... not that I want to spend a lot of time online while on vacation but it's nice to be able to unwind with some internet an email […] updates at the end of a long day of site seeing. We had a wonderful experience at this hotel! The staff were really nice and friendly. The building has been used since 1437, so they have done a really great job of keeping up in good shape. Breakfast is a bit more sparse than some, but we didn't go hungry (or uncaffienated!). This was a fantastic hotel!!! The room we had (#6) was the best hotel we had in our entire stay in Italy - clean, comfortable, great bathroom, lots of room - just perfect! The hotel is also very close to everything - we walked everywhere! The hotel staff were very accomodating and friendly, showed us to our room, gave an overview of the facilitites […] and the room, etc. I highly recommend this hotel if staying in Venice for a few days on your vacation!!! We stayed here for two nights and the room was great! The location is not in the central area, but that is also one of the great things about it. The area is quiet at night and nice restaurants close by. They recommended the Timion close by and we had one of our best meals in Italy. Great place to stay!

...and the breakfast was superb!

Loved the quiet neighborhood on the canal in Canareggio. As simple, basic of a breakfast as you can get, but enough to satisfy. We were fortunate to get the room with balcony over the canal which was great for relaxing with wine at the end of the day but very noisy first thing in the morning on our second night with deliveries of food, drinks to the […] local restaurants. Clean and nice room. Good service. Not far away from terminal and no need to cross any bridge which is hard for tourists carrying luggage.

This Hotel is really great. The location is perfect, since you don't have to go up and down bridges when you arrived from the train station. The staff was very helpful. The room was clean and the breakfast was good! I highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel was very comfortable, good and helpful staff and well located close to Ca Foscari University. The rooms are spacious and the beds comfortable. You can manage your own heating in your room, which makes it very comfortable. excelent stay, the weather was perfect, Venice was at its most beautiful, although after 5 days there is only so many mask shops or glass shops you wish to see. Like a lot of places in Venice, the outside of the building has a scruffy charm to it. Inside, it is thoroughly modern and clean. For a relatively small place, I was surprised to find a manned desk at reception. The reception staff were always very helpful. Our bedroom was bright and clean, with a nice large bed, a fridge, and a superb en-suite bathroom. […] All in all, just great, with a nice view of a large canal below. There was a complimentary bottle of wine waiting for us, which was nice. The continental breakfast room is quite utilitarian, and does not have a view, but the buffet breakfast was fine and the maid who looked after it always gave us a cheery hello. Recommended. Mehr

We loved this hotel. Easy to locate from the train station, a 10 minute walk with suitcases and ferry stop just 20 metres away. Staff were very helpful and happy to assist with information. We arrived early in the morning so our room wasn't available but staff were happy to store our bags for us. Room was large & comfortable with a great bathroom. Local […] bar was across the alley way and various neighbourhood restarants were close by with lower prices than those closer to the canal. Would highly recommend. Mehr

While it is a nice hotel and close to the ghetto it's not close to most attractions so only stay here if u don't mind walking around or taking the water buses .

Convenient from train station, very friendly staff who speak English very well, big rooms & bathroom. Although there's a bar in the corner, we had no problem sleeping... Breakfast could be better :(

Point blank, this hotel is a little off the beaten path but within 6 minutes walking, you're back in the middle of things. Besides finding it for the first time, we couldn't have asked for better accommodations. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

Hotel not real tricky to get too but did pass by it. staff was very helpful, and let us leave or luggage after checkout because we wanted to explore more. breakfast was good. room was clean and comfortable. would recommend to others.

This is small hotel that is walking distance from the train station (Santa Lucia). No need to hop on a water taxi or bus. Once you exit the station, go left and walk all the way down until you are forced to cross the bridge or turn right/left. Go left and you walk a bit, and turn left on Calle Cendon. The lady at the front desk was very nice, unfortunately […] our room wasn't ready. But we left our baggage and went site seeing. Buy a 12 hour water taxi at the train station, and it will take you straight to St. Marks. It's a few bus changes to get back to where the hotel is located, so it's just easier to use the terminal in from of the train station and walk back to the hotel. The room was fairly spacious (2 large luggage, and 2 small rolling luggage), with lots of room to spare. The bathroom was clean and spacious. Be aware that in the evening, there is a restaurant at the corner that gets a bit loud if your room is off the alley. Otherwise, it was a great hotel in a great location. Mehr

Couldn't say enough about what a quaint hotel this is. It was east for us to find because we used a water taxi and had drop off service right in front of the hotel. The entrance is on the side of the building, and at first, was the only confusing part of the location. We had a very large room on the third floor with A large modern bath. The room had […] windows that opened directly over a canal with a great view. Amazing. The staff were very very friendly and helpful with directions and advise. Another nice surprise was that they served a continental breakfast in a charming little dining room. The hotel was small but very lovely and although simply stlyed was very comfortable and charming. We had a beautiful room in a lovely hotel on a canel in a quiet neighborhood. Room was larger than most budge European hotels with two windows and very nice bathroom Very convenient location - near San Lucia train station and water bus stop. this hotel is situation between two vaporetto stop, one of which is for the airport route. the routes from these stops take you directly to San Marco or to murano. it is also on five minutes walk from the train station so is ideally situated. being in the area of cannaregio is is alot quietier than some of the other more tourist areas of venice. the […] hotel rooms are basic but well decorated. the staff were very friendly. the breakfast is basic but there is plenty to eat which set us up well for walking around venice. a very nice simple hotel would defiantly use it again Mehr

Most rooms have window that overlooks the bar next door - plays loud music till late. Towels not changed during 3 night stay, also we never got fresh toiletries. Breakfast selection was poor, some stale pastries, fruit juice, yogurt and coffee only. However, what we heard from others in Venice is that this was typical and the location was very good […] . easy to find,airport bus five to plazza roma,over bridge straight walk ahead to 3rd bridge,before turn left go down to bar ,immediate left on right,no sign very helpful and friendly staff, clean had a huge room, great area away from the mad crowds would stay again, basic breafast but we were fine with that,

This hotel was actually quite nice once we got past the appalling staff member on duty at reception. We arrived early and hoped to drop off our luggage but found the hotel shuttered and apparently closed. We called from another hotel to find that there was actually someone there but they wouldn't answer the doorbell because they didn't open till 8 although […] by this time it was 8.30. When we arrived at check-in time (2pm) we were told very rudely that the room wouldn't be ready till 2.30 by the same person who we spoke to earlier - I was met with a shrug of the shoulders when I asked why. My wife asked to speak to the manager but she said she was the manager and didn't care about our complaints and we were free to go find another hotel without refund. This was not an option for us otherwise I would have gladly written off the refund. It turned out that this "lady" was changing shifts and when the next shift arrived, she was very nice and showed us to our room which looked to have been well prepared - I suspect the first person just didn't want to be bothered showing the room. Good location 10 minutes from train station and on #41/42 water bus route. Friendly staff and comfortable room. In a quiet area with a nice quiet bar next door.

We stayed at this beautiful hotel and cannot recommend it enough- perfect location and service,very luxurious. We got engaged on our 2nd night and couldn't ask for a more romantic hotel- perfecto!
