Haben dieses Hotel als Zwischenstop auf unserer Reise entlang der californischen Westküste genutzt. Zimmer und Hotel sind gepflegt und schnell zu erreichen. Bezüglich Preis-Leistungsverhältnis könnte das Frühstück etwas besser ausfallen.

Auf dem Weg von San Francisco nach San Diego per Auto (um die Riesigkeit dieser Landschaft zu erfahren) eine wunderbare Gelegenheit, günstig und gut zu übernachten. Leider war ich wegen witterungsbedingtem Stau spät dran, ein Anruf beruhigte mich aber, dass bis 22 Uhr die Rezeption besetzt sei und danach der Schlüsel in einer Box mit per Nummer zu öffnendem […] Vorhängeschloss am Eingang bereitliege. Nun, ich war um 21:20 da und die freundliche Dame an der Rezeption erklärte mir in Ruhe die Einrichtungen des Hotels und gab mir den Zimmerschlüssel. In Laufweite ein liquor store, um chips und beer zu besorgen. EIne sehr ruhige Nacht, leider bei Regenwetter. Ein schönes kostenfreies Frühstück mit Waffeln zum Selbstbacken und gutem Kaffee. Mehr

Gemütliches und gepflegtes Wohlfühlhotel, das sich als Zwischenstop zwischen San Francisco und L.A. gut eignet. Gemütliche und saubere Zimmer. Keine Störung durch Verkehrslärm. Gute Anbindung an Highway No. 1.

sehr schönes Motel zu einem günstigen Preis. Sauber, gepflegt, ruhig, schönes Zimmer, zuvorkommender Service. Fünf Minuten zu Fuss bis zum Hafen. Am Nachmittag wurden kostenlos kleine Snacks und Wein angeboten. Würde ich jeder Zeit wieder buchen.

Hotel was clean, staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Wifi didn't work first evening. Staff tried to fix it. When that didn't work, we were offered an upgrade to a deluxe room. Wifi was fixed next morning! Great continental breakfast. Loved the room decor. I would stay here every time!

We really weren't expecting too much for a 2 1/2 star hotel. This is a clean, neat, very friendly place. The beds were very comfortable. We had a problem with the wifi the first day, but they offered to upgrade to a deluxe room. The front desk staff were exceptional. Wifi was fixed next morning. We would definitely stay here again.

This is a very nice hotel that has a large spa in the basement. Breakfast is good and includes waffles, boiled eggs, toast, pastries, cereals, fruits, coffee, milk, OJ, etc. The included afternoon wine and cheese service was nice with several cheeses, crackers, cookies and three different lower cost wines. We went to Morro Bay to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and stayed at the Masterpiece Motel. We've stayed there before and are always 100% happy with everything they do. This was no exception. Nice Motel- close to everything- Very Nice Spa Would recommend!

Our stay was Ok, wish the Wi-Fi was secure and working, was only able to use our computers once then couldn't get back on the internet

We enjoyed our weekend at the El Morro. The afternoon we arrived there was wine and cookies available in the foyer. We had reservations from Hotels.com and the check-in went very smoothly. After we got settled, we walked down to the Embarcadero and watched the sunset next to Morro Rock and enjoyed dinner at Windows on the Water. The location of the […] Motel allows us to wander around the town on foot without having to constantly find parking spaces. We drover to Montono de Oro State Park and hiked with no admission charge. The view there is always spectacular and the trails are easy to access from the various parking spots. Then back to the Motel to change for dinner. It was Sunday and we had an early dinner out of doors at Tagnazzini's. The walk back and forth was very manageable and the music there was great & the food was fresh tasty and reasonable. When we got back to the hotel it was still the afternoon wine time and we had a chat with a couple that had a long and happy history at the El Morro. They got married on the beach and had their reception at the hotel. They spoke so sweetly about the loving kindness they received from the staff, and said that this was their permanent vacation spot. hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, we stayed in a standard king suite which was very roomy. My only criticism of our room would be that the bed was a bit to soft for me and the the sofa was a bit worn. Other that that my wife and i really enjoyed our stay and would stay at this motel again.

Small charming hotel, conveniently located for the activities we wanted to accomplish. The staff was friendly and helpful. They served wine, cheese, crackers, cookies and other edibles in the early evening as well as a continental breakfast in the morning. It is about halfway between San Luis Obispo and Hearst Castle which were two of the places we […] wanted to visit. Very nice and well-maintained hotel for a very reasonable price. Nice details like artwork and free wine/cheese buffet. Morro Bay is a very charming small harbor town.

We stayed 1 night and loved it. We arrived and they had cheese and wine, nice rooms with a view, loved the fireplace but the main reason I picked the place was a nice and big heated jacuzzi pool inside. Breakfast was tasty and good selection.

This hotel is quaint & beautiful. I have stayed here twice & will stay here the next time I am in Morro Bay!

It was a very nice hotel. I liked that they had breakfast and happy hour with free cheese, wine, crackers and apple cider. I went with my family and my kids liked the hotel. Friendly staff. Close to the beach and walking distance from restaurants.

A consistent and meticulous dedication to every detail is the theme which each and every employee effortlessly delivers resulting in a comforting marriage of panache and professionalism. Everyone in this accommodation is accommodating to the "nth" degree day and night. The housekeeping staff fits their schedule to yours and the desk personnel are friendly […] and unflappable in their desire to make your stay a relaxing joy. Yes, the decor is a little travel worn -- but not so rustic as to be distracting. All the advertised accommodations (spa & fitness room) work as expected. Parking is adequate. The town itself is so tiny, there is no such thing as a bad location, everything is within easy walking distance. The second floor rooms provide a delightful view of the iconic Morro Rock. The other guests are politely pleasant although at night, the thin walls amplify the head banging good time being had on the other side just a little too transparently. Staying there again is not in doubt. These sense of the place is classic with almost a sly nod northward toward San Simeon as the architectural touches are reminiscent of Julia Morgan. As a further Hearstian homage, the walls are adorned with copies of great works of art and guests are encouraged to match the paintings to the artists with an available brochure. In a way, one shares one's stay with Picasso, Hopper, Erte, etc. Finally, the motel works effectively with Hotels.com in a true partnership when required just to make one's stay pleasanter. Mehr

We had a quaint large room in a quiet neighborhood. The continental breakfast included make your own waffles and hard boiled eggs. The staff was very friendly and helped us with a problem we had without protest.

My wife and I decided to go to Morro to attend a friend's wedding and decided to make a weekend of it. We rented one of the jacuzzi suites and were very satisfied. The only reason I did not mark 5's across the board were: Maintenance - light dimmer switches were worn and did not work the switch properly; they just spun on the spindle. Had to take off […] the knob and turn switch spindle. Not a big deal. Comfort of the room - would probably have been excellent, except we happened to be there on a weekend when the weather was much warmer than normal, and there is no air conditioning other than heat. (Normally not needed at Morro Bay.) We were on the first floor, so were not comfortable leaving the sliding glass door open over night. But there was a ceiling fan above the bed so it wasn't a major issue. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed the stay. Very nice staff. Very nice accommodations. Next time, we will definitely take our swim suits and use the Roman style spa. It's GORGEOUS!!! I will definitely recommend El Morro Masterpiece to my friends. Mehr

Everything about this place reflected exquisite attention to detail. There was art throughout the hotel. The room was lovely with a comfy loveseat and sofa to kick back and read upon, a comfortable bed and a shower that was tall enough for my 6'2" husband. The bathing supplies were high quality and the towels were thick, soft , full-sized bath towels, […] as opposed to the small, narrow, scratchy see-through things showing up at too many supposedly good hotels. It's these little things that add up to a good experience. The staff was very friendly and attentive, This was a great place to stay. We will return and I would highly recommend it. Mehr

The wine and cheese at night is very nice and enjoyable. Got to meet other people staying in the hotel and exchange ideas and suggestions about site seeing in the area. Hotel has washing machine and drier of premises, which is very convenient.

Wonderful, quiet place to stay. Enjoyed every minute of our 4 days there. Thank!

Loved the breakfast and afternoon wine and cheese. The room were comfortable no air conditioning made for hot nights.

The staff a Morro Masterpiece Motel upgraded us to the El Morro Suite for a reasonable rate uptick. The suite was fantastic! It included double sinks, a large jacuzzi tub and a balcony with a 360 degree view! The motel is located very close to Highway 1 and is easy walking distance to the bay, restaurants and shops.

This is an excellent boutique hotel, quiet and very well equipped.

We enjoyed our brief stay at El Morro Masterpiece Motel in September 2011. Staff were friendly and fast. The breakfast was modest, but better than nothing. We enjoyed the evening wine and cheese. Motel had a good location - easy to get to Sal Luis Obispo, Pismo Beach, or the wineries in Paso Robles, and within walking distance of restaurants and bars […] in Morro Bay. We would have preferred to have A/C so we could keep the windows closed at night and not hear vehicles and traffic noise. We would consider staying there again. Mehr

An OK facility but showing end-of-season fatigue. Needs freshening. Serves adequate breakfast. Good bed. Very good desk staff.

Unfortunately we were just passing through. The check in process was efficient and friendly . The room was comfortable and clean. would diffenitrly stay here again.
