Wir haben Anfang August 2011 im Mercure Bristol auf übernachtet und waren insgesamt sehr zufrieden (komfortables, gut ausgestattes und elegant wirkendes Zimmer, sauberes Bad, gutes Frühstücksbuffet, Der Fußweg zur City (die richtig nett ist, was uns vorher gar nicht bewusst war) beträgt ca. 10 Minuten, und beim Check-in haben wir auch direkt einen […] Innenstadtplan für eigene Erkundigungen bekommen. Einziger Kritikpunkt: W-Lan-Zugang gab es nicht umsonst sondern nur gegen eine relativ hohe Gebühr. Mehr

We stayed here for one night for convenience really and hoped for just what we received. A well run hotel with good facilities, professional staff and best of all a good quality shower and bathroom. Something somewhat uncommon on our travels. Only minor criticism aside from rubbish weather was the unreliability of the car park machine necessitating […] a return to reception in the pouring rain. If the test is whether we would return to stay again the answer is assuredly yes. Mehr

We had a fantastic stay at the Holland House, and enjoyed everything very much and the hardest critics are usually the kids and the really enjoyed everything!!

On the whole your hotel was very comfortable. Breakfast time was extremely busy and a little chaotic although the staff were very professional and organised. It would have helped if staff had explained your system. The cooked breakfast itself was a little on the cold side but the quality was very good. One complaint we would make though is the £12 charge […] for car parking. We honestly did not see the small sign as we entered your car park so were understandably surprised to be charged the £12 when we lef.t. When questioned the receptionist said that there were signs "everywhere" but on leaving only saw one small sign at the entrance. It made us realise to read the small print more when booking and comparing hotel prices. Mehr

Second time we've stayed here and once again a fantastic break . Walked to Cabot circus for a great days shopping , also had a lovely lunch at the dinning room at the millennium square . It was so nice to have the hotel pool all to ourselves on Sunday afternoon ,really relaxing , hotel food great as ever ,having a boyfriend as a chef it needs to be […] something special and it didn't disappoint . Top class hotel. Super professional. Looks like windows in the rooms dont open. Our room got very suffocated as the air conditioning wasnt enough. Windows provided a nice view but didnt open so was a major negative. Other than that hotel was top notch with superior design, furnishing and service.

We arrived late after a wedding reception with our son asleep, so didn't get to look at the room prior to accepting. The mattresses were uncomfortable and probably old needing changing. The bathroom was "designed " for a disabled person and was both impractical and unhygienic, including a shower which flooded the floor and an extremely small sink […] virtually below waist height and no storage / standing area for your belongings/products. Tissues were kept on the thick skirting board approx 8 inches off the floor in a corner right by the toilet and the toilet brush cleaner, mouth rinse tumblers were also approx 8 inches off of the floor. There were other points. At breakfast, there had obviously been a hen party the night before as the floor was covered in debris, plus the stairs from reception up to the rooms were in need of a good hoover. It just generally seemed a bit less clean than I would expect for a 4 star hotel, especially having stayed at a really nice, clean cheaper hotel in Leicester previously which was certainly not 4 star. I struggle to see why able bodied people should be put in a disabled persons suite, child or not. I have fed back to the hotel staff when asked how my stay was. I would recommend that people check which room they are given. I am disappointed to have paid good money for that stay. I declined vouchers to stay again. People should be warned. Mehr

I had teh pleasure of staying in this hotel overnight and then spending the day on a course within the hotel. At all times the staff were extremely corteous and helpful. The room size and facilities were excellent. The very large windows looking out over a busy road concerned me initially but there was very little noise and I had a very peaceful nights […] sleep. the breakfast buffet was very comprehensive and all teh food was very fresh. there were some interesting touches such as aritsan bread and locally produced preserves and honey. In addition there was a menu to order from. I was particularly impressed with the staff at breakfast who were extremely patient with the high flow of guests. Excellent staff, very good swimming pool, good restaurant dinner and breakfast, good location, rather expensive but secure parking and very expensive wireless networking - this should be free!. Unfortunately our otherwise well-furnished 'executive' double room sometimes had an unpleasant smell which was only mitigated by spraying by staff. It was a […] cold weekend and while we were out of the room and the heating was off, the room temperatuire dropped quickly to a very low level. Overall though, a pleasant stay. Mehr

The room was nice, your standard hotel room. Be sure to wash your cups and glasses out with soap and water. I rinsed ours and there was about 3 inches of scum when we made tea. I washed them out with shampoo and tried the tea again. No scum.

Very clean hotel, staff friendly and helpful. We had a very pleasant stay. Breakfast food was very good, however staffing levels were low and proved a challenge for the staff to manage all tables. I would certainly recommend this hotel

I was very happy with a staff,rooms,location. Definatelly would stay there again!!

Mercure Holland House a good welcome at reception. Clean and comfortable room. Room service quick and food good. A good location within easy walking distance to centre of Bristol. Excellent for business or leisure stay. Shame about parking charge, but that is no different to any city. Also Wifi charge I thought a little expensive. But overall very good […] hotel. Mehr

Clean hotel and staff welcoming. Executive room was nice and bed/bedding was very soft and comfy. Bathroom also lovely. Only downside to bedroom was that there were ventilation problems causing the windows to be steamed up and wet in morning. This meant that there was some mould in the corners of the windows. Quite alot at the one of the end windows. Distance […] wise the hotel was in easy reach of the canal, restaurants and train station. Overall I am 50/50 about whether I would stay there again. Mehr

Great service at reception. Location was ideal for the centre of Bristol. Swiimming pool area- well maintained,warm& very inviting on a winters day. Loved the decor in the pool area& our room was beautifully designed&spacious. I did notice that a few touch ups were needed in the bathroom,patches of damp& attention needed to some grouting. We stayed in this Hotel for 1 night but were very impressed with it, luxurious and beautiful pool.

Stayed in the hotel for a long weekend around a friend's wedding in Bristol. We arrived by train and the hotel is 5-10 minute walk from the station (although admittedly the choice is either walk next to the ring road or through a not particularly friendly looking set of flats). We were offered a room upgrade (at a cost) on arrival - it had been a long […] week and the thought of a nicer room appealed - would recommend it, the view of the church and the larger room were worth it if you like that kind of thing. Pre-paying for breakfast saved a considerable amount on the advertised price and it was worth every penny. High quality selectiion of hot and cold food and very large dining room. Used the pool on the Saturday morning. Good sized - perfect for a few lengths. Little surprised to not see a spa pool or a steam room, but you can't have everything! Had planned to use the gym but ran out of time (excuses excuses...) Did have a look and it seemed commpact. Had all the equipment you'd expect but it seemed very busy (pre breakfast on a Saturday). 12 noon check out is also very welcome at the weekends. Overall would recommend and stay here again. Mehr

We found the hotel comfortable but did not apppreciate not having access to free internet. The breakfast buffet could be improved.

We had a fab weekend at the Mecure Bristol. The staff were excellent - extremely helpful. The bar menu and room service menu were really high quality and reasonably priced. The rooms were fresh and modern. My gripes: 1) there were no opening windows in the room 2) Our "non-smoking room" reeked of fags (and had an ashtray in the wardrobe). 3) The corridors […] of floors 2 and 3 reeked of fags also. Can we suggest you make this into a non-smoking hotel. It was a great hotel for the money Mehr

Excellent hotel with well trained efficient and helpful staff. Beautiful spa within the grounds and good sized swimming pool in the hotel. Very comfortable and a great stay including a free welcome glass of wine or soft drink.

I stayed to attend my sons graduation, I chose the Mercure because I had stayed in other Mercure Hotels and likes them. It didnt dissapoint, lovely clean spacious room, quiet and dark at night so a great sleep.

The hotel is very good overall. Great facilities, good location, located in a walkable distance from the train station and the centre of Bristol. The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly, especially the french girl on reception. Only downside - the hotel parking and hotel food are very expensive.

Accomodation excellent - but found it disconcerting that for the proce paid that wi fi internet was not freely available.

The hotel was excellent, the beds were very comfortable and the room very clean. The hotel pool was lovely and of a good size. The hotel was conveniently situated to the harbour area and you could walk into the shopping area easily.

A 5 minute walk to restaurants and bars, harbourside, Arnolfini gallery. Pool is nice. Would stay again.

Three adults sharing. Very good. Modern clean and quiet with friendly helpful staff. Room keycard system seemed to lose memory after a single use, more a problem for hotel than us. A small criticism - were allocated a room with bathroom designed for disabled use; wash basin too small for shaving use and mirrors set a bit too low for our comfortable […] use. Bar and food service very good, breakfast very good indeed with lots of staff and no waiting for anything. Didn't get to swimming pool but should have been good by standards in the rest of the hotel. the hotel and breakfast buffet were perfect. lovely staff and very quiet hotel. the gym and pool are not very big, I expected something bigger.

We arrived at the hotel for Valentines weekend, which was a treat for my fiancee. The Hotel was so beautiful, marble floors, lovely bar and a la carte restaurant (a little overpriced), 24hr swimming pool, huge rooms, all with massive windows, luxury bathroom with walk in shower, room service 24hr, comfy double beds (we had 2) Flat screen TV with freeview […] channels, room was airy and very spacious. It was lovely. Our stay was for only 2 nights but when your there you do want to extend your stay longer. All 4 of us on the 2nd night, after a night out, we went swimming until 3am which was so lovely, chilled out, just what we needed. The Breakfast in bed option was amazing too, absolutely anything that you want, we all had full english breakfasts, doubled up and toast with tea and coffee, all you need is too ring (press 0) The Staff were lovely to us all, i will definately be revisiting again and i would reccomend this hotel to anyone i know visiting Bristol. very happy with service great for shopping in carbott center.would go again. carpark ten pounds for 24hours stay. free further down road.need to no where your going though.we went shopping and out in evening to clubs and pubs.

friendly staff at reception and dining room. room very warm bit too warm, only had 2 cups and four of us staying,bar prices too expensive so we bought some drinks for the room before going out, which was great.if prices were bit more realistic they would have more custom at the bar. would def stay there again .

Fantastic value for a really nice hotel in an excellent location close to the centre of Bristol. Nice (15-20min) walk to the centre via the docks/canal area, or a taxi for around £5. Car parking charge is very reasonable compared to city centre carparks and given the low room rates. Hotel was comfortable, clean and nicely decorated, and the staff were […] very pleasant. We were looking for a triple room and it was great that this means 2 big doubles rather than one double and a sofabed as in other chains. Breakfast was excellent - except for the tea, which wasn't very hot and was a bit weak. The only very slight negative was that the bathroom floor could have been better swept. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone - we're already looking for an excuse to go back! Mehr

Nice hotel with fantastically gracious and helpful staff.

For our one night stay we were satisfied with the hotel.However we were led to believe we would have a bath tub.Nets are needed to retain privacy in the room and the matress was hard.That said,the location was ideal and it was quiet,important the next morning!We ate in the bar at night which was excellent,and the breakfast was good quality,but not very […] hot.No different to most other hotels on that score.Would consider staying again at the right price. This hotel was refurbished from what used to be a rather plush office block. The hotel itself is immaculately clean and well presented. The staff are very polite and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. However, we almost felt that we were in a sealed, hot box because of the lack of opening windows. The air conditioning was near to useless and the […] heat spoilt our stay. The hotel is obviously being marketed as a stag/hen venue too and eventually at 4am we had to phone reception to ask the revellers to be quiet. This was dealt with swiftly and efficiently. The gym was very small and would be crowded with more than two people in it and the pool was also small and was very crowded with ten people in it! We have stayed with Mecure before and would not recommend this hotel for a leisurely spa break at all - we shall definately go back to the Mecure Brandon Hall Hotel for the spa experience. Mehr

Arrived at the hotel on a Saturday morning and saw the sign for parking at the rear. Only once i had taken a ticket from the barrier and driven in did i notice the sign which stated that you had to pay for parking! £2.50 per hour to a maximum of £10.00. Went through to the reception, hotel was very nice with bar, restaurant and nice hotel lobby. Check-in […] clerk was friendly but did not show us the direction to our room which meant we had to find it ourselves. Location is great with easy access to the town center (5-10 mins walk) as well as the local supermarket (Asda) with the cheapest petrol at the time! Overall the hotel is great with a superb buffet breakfast if you take this option, i would recommend it. Regarding the parking, there are side street where you can park free of charge for 2 hours at a time Mon - Sat (8am to 6pm) or no maximum at other times. Mehr

Good location for Bristol City Centre - just a short walk to lots of lovely waterside bars and restaurants. Room good quality. Staff very efficient - requested non-feather pillows and some ice and both appeared in less than 5 minutes!! Breakfast good but chaotic! Tea/coffee in help-yourself urns not particularly high quality but you could order specialities […] at an extra cost. Parking behind hotel pricey but that's standard for Bristol - there is public parking around that's cheaper, but its 24 hour charging and means topping up ticket at midnight!! Word of advice for a Sunday morning - if you are in a room facing the stunningly beautiful St Mary Redcliffe Church, take earplugs - they ring the bells early, and loud and for a long time!!!! The location is good as it is not far from the bars/cafe area and is close to the rivers edge. However the view is not great - car park or next door flats. The church on the corner is beautiful but the bells do go and on the Sunday morning were very loud and very long - fab if you are not trying to sleep. The breakfast is good (was included in our rate) […] and the evening meal while not cheap is of a good standard. The best thing about the hotel was the service in the dining room where the young girls serving were efficient AND friendly and smiling - a combination you do not often find. Mehr
