I stayed at the Mount Errrigal as I was also attending a wedding reception there. I thought the reception, lounge and function rooms were very nicely decorated but I was let down by the room in which we stayed. I found the decor very outdated and the room very small. I have stayed in many hotels in Donegal and have never stayed in such outdated rooms. […] Parking was also a problem. There were many parking spaces but there were two weddings on that day and I noticed that the leisure facilities were open to the public so it took us to drive around the car park five times to eventually get a parking space. Stayed there last weekend at a wedding. It took us 20 mins to check in which was very slow. The room itself was old, small and smelt like a smoking room - when I asked to get changed to a non-smoking room I was told I already had a non-smoking room! The accomodation was poor but other than that the hotel was OK - the food at teh wedding was fantastic […] to be honest and there was plenty of bar staff. Mehr

Hotel was great. We had a very big room, big bed and lovely meal in front bar before going to Country Dance in function Room. Over all great week end.

Myself and my girlfriend decided to get away for something different over New Year. We arrived at Mount Errigle just shortly before it was time to check in but the room was already ready. They were spotless and staff could not have been more friendly. That night we had dinner in the bar which was reasonably cheap and very tasty. After we headed into […] Letterkenny town and had an absolute ball. Got chatting to the locals and the entertainment was first class. Breakfast the next morning was amazing....just as the doctor prescribed after a night out. Fresh fruit, yoghurt and a full fry. Really recommend this hotel for the price. Mehr

Negatives: Very thin covers (a sheet and a throw). Uncomfortable bed. VERY noisy at the weekend. No effort to put the fires on during the week when there were only a few people staying. The bar food was not good at all. Positives: The staff were very friendly - however, it's a pity that the one time I had to contact the reception (4.30am) when there […] was a drunken lout outside my door asleep and snoring loudly, nobody was there to take my call. I rang for five minutes straight and then was forced to go down to get help. When I got down stairs there was still nobody at reception. Eventually another (not so sober) man helpled me pick up the drunk and throw him into his room. Advice for potential visitors: Don't stay here unless you are staying for parties or stags etc. If you stay for work, like me, you will leave a very angry (and tired) person. Mehr

For our hotal in Northern Ireland we selected this hotel, there being few others that provided a single room at a reasonable rate for my wife's father. On arrival it looks OK and the staff were friendly. We found the rooms to be of a reasonable size and very much of a motel standard. While the rooms were clean they appeared in need of redecoration and […] modernisation. Fortunately, we like our bed to be very firm so we had no problems here. The food was probably the best thing about the hotel with a reasonable choice and excellent quality. While this hotel provided a suitable location for exploring the North-West corner of Ireland, we would have to say that the experience was adequate rather than special. Mehr

The cups & the teapot in the bar were dirty. There was an empty coke bottle in the bedroom. There wasn't enough towels for the people booked in. It is old-fashioned. Never again.

Hotel is fine, as stated in other reviews the rooms are somewhat dated, however they are spacious enough and well priced. Decent breakfast as well.

Friendly staff, good leisure centre and food. The only difficulty is finding your room! They really need to improve on signs as lots of guests were wandering around trying to find their room.

The hotel is within walking distance from Letterkenny town or a cheap taxi ride. The hotel is well equiped, the staff are very helpful and attentive. The leisure facilities are good with a reasonable sized pool with all the extras. The gym is well furnished. The only fault found was the cleanliness of the ladies changing area in the leisure centre.

This hotel was excellent in all ways except with regard to its no smoking policy. This is the second time in two years that we have visited the hotel and each time we have had to fight our way through a barrage of smoke just to get in the front door. We will be booking elsewhere next time. We made a formal complaint to the manager that on TWO CONSECUTIVE […] DAYS people had been seen smoking in ENCLOSED AREAS with no efforts to stop it. A layer of ash on the skirting boards and on the floor was ample evidence. We were dispapointed that the manager didn't bother to contact us before we left or since. I assume she prefers to turn a blind eye to it. A notice OUTSIDE warns of a 3000Euro fine but there is no notice within the enclosed foyer area. A shame because otherwise it is a good hotel . Mehr

This is a very large hotel,our room was a little on the small side,but was clean and tidy,shower was very poor ,only a trickle and not very hot,service was very good however for breakfasts and bars,staff friendly,overall this Hotel is nice,if a little tired in decoration, Caution however this Hotel hosts a lot of weddings at the weekend,we ourselves […] attended a wedding while there, there was 2 weddings on both friday and saturday. saturday weddings were very noisy at the end, ie 4am- 5.30 am this is the common time weddings finish in this Hotel,other than this we enjoyed our stay,and personally I would not be put-off returning, as use of leisure centre ,which was quite good, and the helpful and friendly staff made up for few shortcomings mentioned. The hotel is very grandeur in appearance but the deal we got was amazing for what the hotel had to offer. There are other hotels in the area that do not offer half the facilities and charge much more. The gym and swimming pool are brilliant too and staff are very friendly. To top it all off the Irish breakfasts offered with the price of our room […] are fantastic, there is so much of a selection and the staff always seemed pleased to see us. I would definitely recommend this hotel, having stayed in the Raddison which is about a mile away from this I would always choose Errigal over that anyday. The hotel is just over 1 mile away from the shops too so everything is within walking distance but it's always nice to go for a drive to Mount Errigal which is approx 45 mins away. Mehr
