Catalonia Royal Bavaro Adults Only - All Inclusive - Punta Cana

we absolutely loved catalonia royal. the food and the service were amazing and we loved that it is adults only. we upgraded to the loft room with the private pool and it was definitely worth it. highly recommend this hotel...it may not be the most luxurious but it is an amazing value.

My wife and I stayed at the CRB from January 7th-15th. We arrived very late the first night so I made sure to call the hotel the day before so they could note this in my reservation. The front desk actually wrote down the wrong room number but the bellhop caught it before we left the lobby and we got this sorted out in short order. RESTAURANTS: Ate […] at every restaurant except for the Mexican. The only one we did dinner at twice was the Italian. My wife is a vegetarian and this gave her the best options of the ala cartes. I didn't care for the steak house, (although that might have just been the cut I ordered...don't get the Texas steak) and this was the only waiter I thought really had an attitude and gave poor service the whole time I was there. Wasn't horrible, just not very quick or friendly. The Japanese was okay, but I actually can get this type of food better here in middle America which really suprised me. Wasn't bad at all, just wasn't really as good as I was expecting. The cata tapa was different and I liked it, wife wasn't real impressed with it. The other restaurants and buffets really didn't stand out one way or the other. I always found something I liked and never went hungry at all, didn't really come for the food so I was more than satisfied with the offerings. ROOMS: We actually ended up with 2 rooms. Room 3848 is on the back side with the "garden view" and on the 3rd floor corner away from the stairs. Room was fine and I really had no issues at all. Didn't care for the rainfall shower but that is just my perference. The maid (never got her name and she didn't speak much english and I don't have much spanish knowledge) was absolutely great! My wife actually got ill on our 3rd day (we think it was the excursion fruit, not the hotel food) and she was quick to bring us whatever was needed and didn't disturb my wife as she slept. I've read reviews that say..can't wait to go back. I feel exactly this way about the Catalonia Royal. Although initially I found the people to be not so friendly this quickly changed. As for the food while some of the speciality restaurants were fabulous others were not. All and all however I can't wait to go back!

Food was just ok, not many choices, found Roach walking in salad . Information desk person at Catalonia Bavaro ws rude and short.

The hotel is in very good conditions, nice pools and beach. The people from the hotel are very nice and many of them speak different languages. One of the reasons that we selected Catalonia Royal, was that it is for adults only, and you can tell the difference with the brother hotel Catalonia Bavaro. At the Royal we enjoyed a quite time at the pool […] and the beach; but if you want more activity you can go the the brother hotel Catalonia Bavaro and participate in other activities for kids and adults. Also, the food was under my expectations. The buffet was not very good at the Bavaro, which is where most of the main restaurants are located. For this reason you should bring pants with you if you want to get in any other restaurant at night. The Talasa Restaurant at the Royal was good, but be aware of the limitation of options and size of the portions. Our first lunch was very small, so we had to order another entree. The japanese restaurant at the Bavaro was way under the expectations specially if you are used to eat good sushi or Tepan. The Tapas place at the Royal was not good, at least not for us. The best and safest one was the Steak House at the Bavaro, and trust me, take a note of this. Overall we had a great time, it is a nice hotel, very clean, nice rooms but food was just OK at some places. Also, the option of brands in liquors is very low in case you like alcohol. Hotel is gorgeous, enjoyed everything. Room when we arrived was outstanding, loved it. Please ensure you take some cocktail recommendations. The only thing a would say was wrong was the amount of loungers by the beach with broken hinges and general upkeep of catamarans. Dias inesqueciveis. O hotel é magnifico.

Olha, nao que esse hotel seja ruim. O fato eh que estivemos em Punta Cana nesse final de agosto e decidimos ficar em 2 hoteis: esse Catalonia Royal Bavaro (o lado Adults Only eh reservado e melhorzinho dentro do resort que eh enorme) e o Secrets Royal Beach. O problema eh que ficamos no Secrets primeiro e depois fomos para o Catalonia. E a decepcao […] de cara. Logo na primeira noite tentei trocar a reserva de volta para o Secrets mas nao teve jeito. O Secrets eh bem melhor principalmente por causa do atendimento. Mas voltando o Catalonia Royal: PONTOS FORTES: O quarto eh bem grande, eh limpo e tem cama king e hidromassagem do lado da cama. O chuveiro eh duplo e uma delicia. Tem jacuzis quentes ao lado de uma das piscinas o que nao tinha no Secrets. No final da tarde com a mare mais alta eh legal fazer snorkeling logo na praia em frente ao hotel pois o mar eh paradao e tem uns canos de concreto enterrados na areia que servem de casa pra um monte de peixes coloridos, eu vi ate um filhote de arraia. No restaurante da recepcao e no Italiano (que fica no lado pobre do hotel) a comida eh maravilhosa. O hotel fica perto do passeio dos golfinhos o que eh vantagem se vc pretende faze-lo. PONTOS FRACOS: Os quartos sao velhos e com manutencao precaria. Pegamos um upgrade para um nivel acima do basico mas nao valeu a pena pois conversamos com outros hospedes em quartos basicos que tinham tudo o que o nosso tinha. Tem apenas 2 piscinas e a praia nao eh tao bonita. Mas o pior desse hotel eh o atendimento: logo na recepcao o atendente ao inves de ajudar ficou rindo de mim por causa de um desentendimento chato que tive com outro hospede. Os recepcionistas dos restarantes e os garcons sao rudes, indelicados, nao parecem se importar com voce e jogam o prato na sua frente como se vc fosse um estorvo. Nao sao todos mas eh frequente. O hotel fica uns 15min mais longe do que a concentracao dos demais hoteis, o que pode ser incomodo se vc pretende sair para programas externos. Minha aval Mehr

Séjour très agréable dommage que la qualité culinaire de l'hotel ne soit pas à la hauteur... La mer est belle et les cocktails sont bons. Ideale pour les escapades calmes et romantiques. Un autre petit bémol: les boissons importées sont payantes: genre corona, vin etc... Le personnel est très sympa! Les chambres (suite deluxe) sont très confortables […] et très jolies. O atendimento foi bom,as istalaçoes sao boas e confortaveis, as unicas reclamaçaoes sao: Que sucos naturais so no cafe da manha ou na praia no almoço e jantar nao serviao,somente sucos artificiais.E a comunicacao de atividades e precaria nao tem praticamente,no restaurante japones as instalacoes sao otimas mas a comida servida ficou devendo.

Tive duas experiências em Punta Cana e posso dizer que o Catalonia Royal foi a melhor, ainda mais se for para compartilhar com alguém que vc gosta. O ambiente e muito bom, tudo incluído "mesmo", ninguém fica te importunando dentro do resort para oferecer serviços extras, mas se vc quiser eles disponibilizam. Bueno, primero que todo quiero empezar hablando sobre la Atención de los residentes de Punta Cana. Todos siempre con una sonrisa, desde el Aeropuerto, Tours, pero sobre todo en este Hotel. Todas las personas son super amables, siempre se sintió todo seguro, y las personas relacionadas con el Turismo hablan 2 y hasta 3 idiomas, lo cual hace todo más […] fácil para cualquier tipo de visitante. En el Hotel como mencioné todos muy amables, y el personal siempre está dispuesto a ayudar. Todo super presentable, desde el personal, hasta las restaurantes, piscinas, el cuarto, la playa (siempre había personal limpiándola). Nosotros nos quedamos en la Suite Jr. de Lujo, la cual era muy espaciosa, muy cómoda, en fin, muy buena! Como dice el Hotel, es para adultos, lo que significó = 0 bullicio, 0 desorden, 100% paz y tranquilidad. De igual forma, tiene su área de Show y Discoteca en el Hotel que hermano que está al lado, el Catalonia Bavaro, lo cual es perfecto porque te da ambos ambientes en un mismo paquete. En el área de la piscina siempre había espacio para estar, igualmente en los jacuzzis. Algo de música pero aun buen nivel el cual te permitía hasta leer un libro. El área de la playa siempre estuvo con sillas disponibles, hay un buen área para tomar sol e igual buena cantidad de ranchos para descansar bajo la sombra y disfrutar la brisa. Igualmente, el área de deportes acuáticos y de playa (soccer, volleyball) están del lado del Catalonia Bavaro, por lo que no tienes que estar pendiente si te golpea un balón o algo simliar. Y obviamente hay un Bar cerca de la playa. El SPA también fue muy bueno, las chicas muy amables y profesionales. Finalmente el Hotel cuenta con un servicio externo para los Tours, los cuales te dan las distintas opciones que puedes hacer, puedo recomendar el Dolphin Explorer para nadar con Mantarrayas y Tiburones, o Delfines; al igual que el Tour de los Boogies, que te llevan por distintos lugares para los que le gusta la aventura. El hotel estámuy bien cuidado y la atención es muy buena, podría mejorarse, pero lo clasificaría como un excelente hotel relación precio beneficio.
