Das Bourbon Orleans Hotel hat die Erwartungen voll erfüllt. Prima Service und großzüge Zimmer. Einzig die sehr zentrale Lage am Rande der zentralen Amüsierstraßen des French Quarter sollten Besucher überdenken, die besonderen Wert auf eine ruhige Umgebung legen (innerhalb des Hotels ist hiervon allerdings nichts zu spüren).

Das Hotel ist unschlagbar gut gelegen, nur eine Querstraße von der quirligen Bourbon Street weg, so dass man mitten im Geschehen ist, aber nicht den Partylärm vor dem Fenster hat. Frühstück hatten wir uns gespart, braucht man auch nicht, da um die Ecke jede Menge Cafés/Restaurants sind. Im Gegensatz zu anderen Hotels hatten wir hier selbst im 5. Stock in einem Zimmer am Ende des Ganges noch sehr guten WLAN-Empfang. Das Zimmer war sauber, recht geräumig und hatte einen Safe.

"Never Responded to My Issue - Terrible Service"
The hotel is nice on the inside. I had a large room that was very clean. This was a business trip for two nights. At no point during my trip did my shower produce hot, or even warm, water. It was ice cold the entire time. I made six attempts to have this fixed with no success. When it was clear that they were disregarding my request, I asked to switch […] rooms and was unable to due to overbooking on their end. After I left, I attempted to contact the hotel manger, and assistant managers, no less than 10 times with ZERO response. Completely inconsiderate. "Expensive, the appearance of service w/o any"
The main impression is one of poor training and incompetence of the staff. One would go down to the lobby and 10 people would ask if they could help you, but none of them actually did help. 3 separate times I asked for Bell assistance and never received it. I got a smoking room instead of the requested non-smoking room. They said they could switch it, […] but in when I got to my room it smelled like a cigar bar. Had to wait a day to switch rooms. The Ruth's Chris Steak house in the hotel was also poorly run. Sometimes OK service, often a lot of staff milling around doing nothing. The two other associated restaurants "Grand Isle" and "Mannings" also had extremely poor service and were not focused on the customer. This may be that many of the customers are getting "free food" by using the casino, and so there is no motivation of the restaurant staff of management to provide good service. We absolutely loved this hotel. From the attentive staff, to the beautiful contemporary rooms, multiple restaurants (with amazing room service) — We highly recommend this hotel! It was in walking distance to everything...the French Quarter, three separate Street Cars, shopping, and even the Aquarium/Zoo. The casino was a perfect size, and built so […] that you have the choice of going through it or not when exiting the hotel. The airport is about 23 miles away... the location is great...close to public transportation, and local attractions. I know this review is about the hotel, but the casino had the tightest slots I have ever seen..not once did I see anyone win enough to get excited about. Even though we gambled a lot, the only thing that got comped was our internet service which was overpriced to begin with. […] In our room, the bed was too hard for a pillow-top, thankfully the pillows were awesome. The faucet handles in the bathroom were in need of work...they were loose in place. The hotel was lovely, and all of the employees were polite, pleasant and helpful. Rooms were clean and room service was great. "Great if you are adults only looking for a casino."
This hotel is not for families with children. It is a beautiful establishment, but I had to pay an extra $30 for my son to stay with us and I had to call housekeeping to get coffee packets sent to our room. "Bird doody"
Everyone was very friendly at the front desk area. Checked us in and out quickly. Only complaint was when we got our car back the next day from valet parking, it was so full of bird doo that it was disgusting. I could have parked in the self garage and got 30 minutes free play, did not know until after valeted. But I figured hey it is done and will […] be in a safe dry place, NO! I think they parked it under a tree in the street. We were on vacation driving back to Houston and it was so gross. We finally stopped at a gass station and used the window cleaner thing to try and get some of it off but really made a bigger mess. Oh well other than that our stay was nice. I have stayed at several hotels in New Orleans and Harrah's has the best staff of any by far. Check in and check out was pleasurable. I found the location to be more convenient than I expected. It is in walking distance of the French Quarter, the Superdome and Riverwalk. The hotel is separate from the casino so if gambling is not what you want to do […] you need never walk through the casino. It is also much better kept and cleaner than a large majority of the other hotels. The casino has several places to eat in all price ranges and the hotel has a Ruth Chris if spicy New Orleans food isn't for you. They offer both smoking and non-smoking rooms. "Overpriced!"
I grew up in New Orleans and was very excited to have a chance to be a tourist. Harrahs was not worth the cost. Yes, the room was clean and quite..but some of the rooms actually have windows that face the parking lot...yes the parking lot. We were first given a room that had the parking lot view. The bed was not comfortable, there was no desk to work […] from, they charged $11 day to use the internet, parking was $30 a day unless you played in the casino for 30 minutes. "If not needed make sure your room isn't handicap"
Everything was great except both rooms were handicap rooms. If that was all that was available I would understand but the front desk didn't notify us. We didn't complain but it was inconvenient because the shower water went all over the bathroom floor. Also one room didn't have a tub. If not for that the hotel would have received all 5's. "Housekeeping and Casino Garage Parking Awful"
The hotel charged $34/day for valet but with 30 minutes of play in the casino, parking is validated. That is great news for me considering I am a gambler. The hotel staff (front desk, concierge, room service) were all professional. I have two complaints. One day, housekeeping did not change our sheets instead the bed was just made (and room cleaned) […] and the linen was not replaced. Staff was extremely helpful and courteous. Our rooms was not ready apon arrival. checked in Hotel @ 2:30.. Room wasn't ready til @4:30. "Crescent city classic dream"
Stayed here for the crescent city classic- very convenient, friendly check-in staff, and gorgeous decor....the only "downfall" was the down pillows...had a huge crick the morning of the race......... so words to the rise bring your own pillow!! I stayed at the Sheraton last year which hosts the ccc and valet was 2 hours coming and going, the elevators […] were incredibly slow...will never stay there again!
