Hier fühlten wir uns sehr wohl, super große Suite mit Balkon und toller Aussicht (9. Stock). Prima Lage zum Strand auf der anderen Seite der Straße. Gutes Restaurant, schöner Pool. Sehr empfehlenswert!

diese Hotel ist von der Preis-Leistung her super. Die Zimmer sind sehr gut ausgestattet, Frühstück aehr üpig, im Vergleich zu anderen dieser Preiskategorie. Mit das beste Hotel bei unserer Rundreise durch Florida.
Lage
Island Inn befindet sich am Strand in Sanibel in der Nähe von: Bailey - Matthews Shell Museum und Sanibel Historical Village and Museum. In der Umgebung befinden sich außerdem: J. N. Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge und Sanibel Island Lighthouse.
Ausstattung
Dieser Gasthof verfügt über einen Strand, der zum Verweilen und Entspannen einlädt. Island Inn bietet Ihnen Folgendes: Tennisplatz im Freien und Außenpool. Ein kostenloser W-LAN-Internetzugang steht in den öffentlichen Bereichen zur Verfügung. Hotel ist schön gelegen und suber. Achtung: nicht das billigste Zimmer nehmen, das hat keinen Balkon, keine Terasse, keinen Meerblick und ist ein Loch im Vergleich zu den anderen Zimmern. Es war zwar sauber und ordentlich ausgestattet, aber laut und man fühlt sich wie in einem Loch

Solche Hotels möchte man für sich behalten. Es war einfach alles rundum perfekt. Wir hatten eine Suite und dafür muss man auch bezahlen, auf Sanibel Island ist alles etwas teurer. Aber es ist wunderschön dort. Die Lage des Hotels direkt am Strand ist auch wundervoll. Frühstück ist unspektakulär, viel Plastikgeschirr, Bagesl, Obst, Säfte und dünner Kaffe. "Hotel direkt am Strand"
Das Hotel liegt direkt am Strand, man kann auf dem Hotelgelände grillen, Liegen können kostenlos an den Strand mitgenommen werden, ebenso Strandtücher. Frühstück monoton, aber ok.
"Es gibt ein Paradies auf der Erde"
Wir haben im Island Inn erholsame und wundervolle Urlaubstage verbracht. Das Hotel befindet sich direkt am wunderschönen Sandstrand, Muscheln und türkisblaues Meer soweit das Auge reicht. Das Hotel ist liebevoll und charmant eingerichtet. Unser Zimmer entsprach den abgebildeten Fotos, war sehr sauber und ein richtiges zweites Zuhause. Die Mitarbeiterinnen […] sind so hilfsbereit und angenehm freundlich, wie man es sich als Gast nur wünschen kann. Das Frühstück besteht aus Muffins, Joghurt, Cerealien, Obst, Kaffee, Tee und Saft - dazu den traumhaften Ausblick auf den Golf von Mexico als Gratis-Zugabe. Wer mehr braucht, kann z.B. im Island Cow lecker frühstücken. Wir haben uns in die Insel und das Island Inn total verliebt und werden wieder kommen. Kleiner Tip gegen die kleinen schwarzen und garstigen Fliegen: Das Mittel welches an der Hotelrezeption für ca. 10$ verkauft wird, ist das Beste was man bekommen kann und hilft wirklich! Nicht nur auf Sanibel sondern auch in den Everglades gegen Mosquitos. Preis und Qualität sind jeden Dollar wert. To all of you guys in Island Inn: Thank you so much for everything. Nettes Hotel, direkt am Strand; leise; aber schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Das Frühstück ist ein Witz, außer Kaffee, Tee und Orangensaft, gab es Cornflakes, Jogurt und süßes Gebäck. Wer feiern will ist hier falsch, das Hotel ist zum entspannen genau richtig. Es ist ruhig, die Betten sind groß und bequem. Je nach Zimmer hat man eine kleine Küche mit Kühlschrank und Herd. Das Hotel wurde irgendwann gebaut und seitdem nichts gemacht. Frühstück ist eifach zum lachen. Besser selber etwas kaufen.

Das Island Inn ist ein sehr schönes, familiär geführtes Hotel. Die Zimmer sind sehr sauber und verfügen auch über einen Balkon. Zudem gibt es in der Hotelanlage diverse Grillstellen (Kohle vorhanden). Die Lage ist traumhaft, das Hotel liegt am mit Muscheln übersähten Sandstrand von Sanibel Island. Liegestühle sind kostenlos vorhanden. Sonnenschirme […] können für USD 8 pro Tag gemietet werden, es sind jedoch nicht genügend vorhanden. Wir waren entäuscht über den Zustand des Hotels. Es war zwar sauber, aber die Küche ist am auseinanderfallen, die Klospühlung funktionierte nicht richtig, die Armaturen des Bades sind alt und fallen fast ab. Leider hat es auch keine Sitzmöglichkeit draussen vor dem Zimmer. Das dazugehörige Restaurant ist preislich völlig überrissen. "Nice comfy seaside place to stay"
Liked the location and the easy access to beach. Very helpful staff with information. Lots to do like shuffleboard, tennis, horseshoes, etc. Rooms were comfortable. Rates were reasonable for the island.
"OK, but know what you're getting........."
The location right on the beach was wonderful, and people were all pretty nice. Be aware that breakfast is paltry , and I felt sorry for the families with kids who might have expected to get breakfast for their kids there. Selection all 5 days was the same: coffe, good juices, yogurt, about 6 different kinds of pastries, hard-boiled eggs, and mixed […] fruit. No ceral, no bagels or bread, nothing hot. Also, cable was out or malfunctioning for 2 fukll days and no compensation was offered or provided. Again, I felt for the families with children..........Also, Jazz advertised on Saturday night was not there, but most poelpe would oprobabaly rather fidn their entertainment andmeals someplace else than on the premises. "Bad weather not a downer"
Though it was a rainy weekend we still enjoyed our stay playing between the raindrops. The island inn is a great place to stay because of its location on Sanibel Island.

I booked this hotel based on the other reviews I read. Although the location was great, the hotel felt a bit run down. The room was very clean but the beds were really uncomfortable and the fridge was very rusty and chipping. It was fine for 1 night but I wouldn't stay there for any longer than that. The beach, grounds and small pool are fine. It was great to have a bar and restaurant on site. We booked a "deluxe seaview room with kitchenette." It was tiny and we needed a crib so there was barely a passage around the beds. The kitchenette was a small fridge, sm microwave and sm coffee maker. Our hotel was located in a perfect location, right on the Gulf. It was clean and very casual. The entertainment in the restaurant was very good - a male piano player and a woman guitar player - I forget their names! Everyone was very outgoing and helpful. The front office even had a tide chart for finding the best time to go shelling. There was even […] a building where we could wash our treasured shells we found on the beach! "Island Inn"
Very enjoyable "old Florida" inn. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, the inn and grounds were clean, the location was great. We will return and we will bring friends!
"Beachside charm"
There are fancier hotels, but we like this one for it's charm. It feels like a proper, old-fashioned beach resort. Staff was great and the restaurant was quite good, although the breakfast buffet was a disappointment during the week.

"A good value at the Gulf Coast"
A nice and well maintained beach front hotel. The room and surroundings are clean and well maintained. Our room had a full kitchen and two double beds. I would recommend the owners to upgrade the bathroom hardware and better position the toilet paper holder. I recommend renting bikes and going all the way to the lighthouse. Our room had kitchenette; utensils missing. Where were they? Most rooms nowadays have a small kit included...toothpaste+brush; missing. Overall, all was great; would recommend to travelers.

Spacious room with double beds and a pull out sofa in one of the several small, motel-like buildings on the large compound. The on-site restaurant, Traditions, which is open to the public, specializes in Italian dishes. A continental breakfast was included. There are rental bikes available but you can get much better rates and a greater variety of bikes […] at Billy's Rentals on Periwinkle. The Island Inn was the first on Sanibel, and it's a good place to unwind and step back into time. The description that hotel.com gives you on there webpage is not the same. You will get something different. The lady at the front office told me that they have told hotel.com numerous time to change the descriptions of certain rooms.

"Restaurant at Island Inn"
The restaurant at Island Inn was the best in the area. We ate a wonderful grouper dinner followed by the best key lime pie ever! I stayed at Island Inn 20 years ago, and the Inn looks better than ever. Grounds and buildings are well cared for, and all had a fresh coat of paint. I will be sure to return as often as I can.

Other than the fact that the walls were paper thin, the hotel was great. Perfect location. Renovations in progress therefore quite noisy and on a CA time-zone sleeping pattern, I was not thrilled to wake up so early!
"Nice relaxing time"
Went just for two nights for a get away before our first child arrives. Was very peaceful and relaxing. Had trouble with the lock like a lot of people but it was taken care of right away. Everyone was friendly and while the pool isn't very big it was very clean. Bring some noseeum spray they charge $10 at the hotel I'm sure you can get it much cheaper […] but it does help a lot with the bugs on the beach. Mehr

much of it was being renovated. Not really a big distraction . Unfortunately it rained or was cloudy most of our stay (September). It was finally sunny on the morning we had to leave. The shelling wasn't as great as I was led to believe. Nothing but small and broken shells on shore. The waves were too rough to attempt any shelling in waist deep wat […] er. Mehr

What a gem! Stayed in hotel room. Got a free upgrade to King size room. Extended our stay because we loved it so! Staff were wonderful. Couldn't beat it with the gulf, beach and pool. Would come back for sure. Great value for the price and amenities.

"Nice looking but bed bugs"
Room was clean and spacious with a great balcony overlooking the grounds. Right next to the water and we loved it. However, 2 days later, the itching began. At first we thought mosquito because they are definitely around but the mosquito bites disappeared and we were left a 20-30 bites throughout our body which 4 days later we are still scratching. […] At first we were not sure because we never had them, but after research, yep, bed bugs. Cannot speak for all room, but our's had them. Staff at front desk is anti-social; they are all business and no smiles, not even a how are you. Just name, credit card, sign here. Mehr
"Quaint Inn on the Beach!"
I was pleasantly surprised with this inn, especially with it being the oldest on the island. However, the room in Kimball Lodge was modern with kitchen space, large closet, nice bathroom, flat screen TV w/DVD player and cable, comfortable beds and great screened in porch. The room would be great for anyone staying for a long weekend. The inn is steps […] away from the beach with plenty of lawn chairs. The inn reception staff was very pleasant and helpful. The other guests were also friendly and nice. Plenty of parking space, close to the buildig. The property was well maintained and clean. I highly recommend and would definitely visit again. Mehr
"Island Inn was great! Only one complaint?"
Are party had reserved a room with a full kitchen. Now everyone knows if a resort, hotel, motel offers a room with a full kitchen that the customers will most likely be cooking and eating in there rooms. The problem was there was no table and chairs to eat on in the room. And no one wants to eat hot food outside in 95 plus degrees. All we found (a day […] later) was a tiny fold up card table in the closet. I guess they want you to rearrange the furniture chairs every time you eat , which we did but they where way to short. So we all just had to eat on the beds, it was a pain. Owners need to think about these things. Don't get me wrong i love this place everyone had a an awesome time and i will return. But when a staff member told me that they just renovated the place i kind of laughed. Mehr

We stayed at the Island Inn for 2 nights. The location was great right on the beach. The room was decent size, we had a kitchen suite so there was a queen bed on one side of the room and kitchen, tv and sleeper sofa on the other. Great view of the beach and pool. The carpet was pretty dirty but wasn't too big of a deal. However, the sleeper sofa was […] an oversized chair that pulled in to a twin bed. It was very uncomfortable and the chair itself was dirty. There was a cigarette hole on one side and large stain on the other. Overall I would recommend this place, the price was right, great location and with the exception of the sleeper chair it was a nice room. Mehr
The staff at the desk was very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean but not fancy. Refrigerator, stove and microwave is a nice feature for making one's own lunches/dinners in order to spend maximum time on the beach.
