Mercure Hotel Frankfurt Airport - Kelsterbach

We have stayed here several times when we have early flights from FRA. Well maintained and comfortable, with an excellent restaurant. I highly recommend this hotel

Our flight was delayed and we arrived close to 10pm, do not know the airport or town, the airport staff directed us to the area where shuttle buses are departing for different hotels, even we do not speak German we were able to figure out when will be the next bus for Mercure hotel and the buses operate until late hours.Staff at the hotel is very friendly […] and all the facilities including room are very well kept and clean, bed was comfortable and bathroom very nice.The restaurant was already closed but they have lounge open late where we got snacks and drinks.Overall very good experience. VERY NICE HOTEL. THE MATTRESS WAS NOT AS COMFORTABLE AS HOPED.WE BOTH WOKE UP WITH A BACK ACHE.BUT NO OTHER COMPLAINTS AT ALL. WOULD DEFINITELY STAY AGAIN.

Very comfortable hotel with a good free transfer service to and from the airport (10 mins). Good swimming pool, sauna etc. Good restaurant with reasonable prices.

Hotel is not far from airport. free shuttle as afvertised. pool was nice for relaxing, kids loved it. There is also an Italian restaurant near by. For 30 Euros, we had a big plate of pasta, two big seafood pizzas and a big bowl of salad, plus Soda.

I missed the courtesy bus by one minute so waited another 29. The bus leaves you at the end of the hotel drive which as it was raining was a 100m dash! The staff were very pleasant. Room service menu was limited, although the bar menu was adequate. Both the bar and restaurant were pleasant. I had to stay in Frankfurt for 2 nights to do business near the airport and didn't want to stay in the city. This hotel worked out just fine to be near both the airport and my place of business. The rooms are clean and reasonably well appointed, the staff quite friendly and happy to speak English (I cannot speak German) and the bar has a good range […] of drinks and snacks if you have some down time. I didn't try their 'New York' restaurant - the menu didn't appeal and seemed expensive for what it was. It's about EUR12-15 in a cab to/from the hotel and they offer a free shuttle bus which varies between every 30-60 mins depending on the time of day as an alternative. The bus takes approx 15min to go to/from the airport provided this hotel is the only stop (sometimes they go to another hotel as well). Overall though, for the money and the convenience, this hotel does the job and I'd stay here again in similar circumstances. Mehr

The hotel staff were very helpful and the breakfast (at an extra charge) delicious. The rooms were clean and comfortable. I found it difficult to use the hotel shuttle. It only goes to Terminal 1 requiring another bus ride when we arrived at another terminal. It would have been more convenient if the shuttle would stop at both. It also ran at a slightly […] different time than posted in the hotel causing us to miss it in the morning. The hotel did not seem near the airport as the ride was longer than I expected. The hotel is a gem. We stayed one night. We arrived at Terminal 2, and the shuttle only goes from Terminal 1, so took a taxi instead. Check-in was quick, room was spotlessly clean and large. Breakfast was too expensive and there is not much close-by, but this is an excellent value hotel that we would gladly return to.

Hotel was greatly overrated: elevator did not work, room was dirty, lots of noise in the room over night, unfriendly personnel and high prices. There are lots of better hotels in the area around FRA. Would not recommend it to anyone.

Hotel staff were helpfu. It was on bus route that serviced other hotels as well. It was located in a commercial areaq without easy access to other shops or dining. The shower was a little small for my 6'4" frame.

I needed to stay near the airport, arrived late and left early. This hotel worked perfectly well for the overnight traveler. The restaurant was open late, the shuttle bus connection good, the pool fine and the gym adequate just missing a readmilll so I used the stairclibmer and the bicycle.

My family used the hotel for one night before flighing home from Frankfurt. I like that it was away from the airport but still with a shuttle service that operates every half hour. There are some walking trails nearby. However, my family went through town and to the Main-river for a nice long walk before going to bed. One could walk or ride the bicycle […] for miles along the river. ... The plug in the bath tube in our room 226 was leaking. We could not close it all the way. ... breakfast was very good, except that the oatmeal was only offered cold. Mehr

Hotel is close enough to the airport and is relatively quiet and clean. The Bar serves good food.

This is my hotel of choice whenever I am flying out of Frankfurt. Their free shuttle to/from the airport is very convenient. The hotel restaurant is very good, though a bit expensive and there are not many other choices in the area.

Hotel was somewhat remote however there were some restaurants in the immediate area. The rate and hotel services outway the slight inconvenience of location. I will use this hotel every opportunity while on transit at Frankfurt airport.

The staff there was very accomodating. I accidentally booked our reservation for the wrong dates, but the person at the front desk found it and moved it to the right dates, with no fuss and no extra charges. It wasn't very close to any attactions, but if you are just there for an overnight layover it is perfect. For those people who were disapointed […] because they got on the wrong bus and were taken to the other Mercure hotel in Frankfurt - Pay attention! The buses were clearly marked! Mehr

shuttle service is disappointing. also it does not stop right in front of the hotel lobby. it is inconvinient especially coming from a long, tiring trip. ther's also a confussion as to where to board the shuttle from the airport.

Extremely clean and convenient hotel. Super sevice and only 5 min. from the Frankfurt Airport. The room was quite comfortable and modern, and had good shower head in the bathroom. Something that was lacking at our hotel during our visit to Germany. That said - eating there is very expensive, and you need a car to go anywhere else. We found a pizza place […] in town that was cheap and very good! I will be forever grateful to the kind man at the reception desk that returned my family heirloom gold earring that I lost in the lobby...That really made my day! They allow you to use the internet in the lobby for free, as long as you like ( within reason I'm sure ). We got a great room rate too! Mehr

We only needed a hotel from 10 pm until 7 am, so were not as worried as other "posters" on this site about location to downtown, restaurants, etc. We needed proximity to the hotel and (preferably) a free shuttle service. Hotel Mercure Frankfurt Airport provided both. Shuttle bus was large, roomy, clean; hotel room was extremely clean and comfortable. […] Shuttle ran on time. Only 10 minutes to/from airport. One thing to note: There are 3 or 4 Hotel Mercures in Frankfurt, so ensure that you clearly understand which one you are booking and to which one you are travelling. Ours was the Klesterbach hotel. When I contacted the front about information concerning television channels, I was promised an answer that never came. When I contacted the front desk about a problem with the air conditioning, I was promised a resolution that never happened.

This hotel is perfectly adequate for a final night before you fly. The room was comfortable though too warm, even with max air-conditioning. The price was reasonable, though parking, breakfast and internet make it less so - we avoided these expensive temptations. The worst aspect is that it is almost impossible to find - there are no signs in Kelsterbach, […] and you have to be within 50m to see it. Mehr

15 euro cab ride (after all the horror stories about transportation I decided just to get my own ride since my layover was short). Breakfast started not till 0600--too late for me to eat. Internet was for 1 hr. or 5 hr. (nothing in between). Welcome to the "streams of revenue" new world order. Hotel was nice enough. Typical European Hotel: There is […] a thermostat on the wall but it was evidently for looks only. Had it all the way down (cool) and the temp must have stayed at about 80F/27c the whole time. What could be an excellent short term hotel experience was marred by management transferring the energy costs to the hotel guest by limiting how low you can dial down the AC. This was a deal breaker for me as I did not sleep well. Mehr

The room was very spacious and comfortable with a seperate desk at which to work, which is great for the business person. The restaurant was reasonably priced and the food was great. A perfect choice if you need somewhere close to the airport to spend the night if you have an early morning flight to catch. The shuttle service was always on time and good but the hotel is so out of the way with nothing around. You had to go to the airport train station to get anywhere or take 15 minute walk to the nearest town train station. This hotel is only good if you check-in and don't go anywhere but to the airport.

Hotel is close to Frankfurt Flughaven, decent quality food at hotel restaurant, free internet terminal, polite and helpful staff with good English language skills, free airport shuttle service available, however, confusion can result from using the wrong shuttle from the airport to the hotel because there are two Mercure locations and each shuttle does […] not stop at both locations. Extremely clean and pleasant. It has a little (very short) trail that runs along the side of the hotel that makes for a nice morning walk. The morning buffet is fine but very expensive for what you get.

I stayed at this hotel recently and everything about it was fine except for getting there from the airport. I went to the pickup point and noticed that there was a bus for the Mercure Hotel listed. Only one Mercure hotel was listed, while other chains had two or three listed. A bus arrives with Mercure written on the side and I get on. The bus was full […] and the driver made no announcement. To make a long story short this was a bus for a different Mercure Hotel. When I arrived at the wrong Mercure, the hotel clerk was very uncooperative. He admitted that this happens all the time. I finally had to take a taxi to the correct hotel at my own expense. At the minimum they need to instruct the drivers to make an announcement. They should also post it at the airport that there are two Mercure busses. Mehr

Stayed for an overnight layover in Frankfurt. Good service, helpful bilingual staff, caters to Business Travelers. Clean room and complimentary bus shuttle to airport at regular intervals.

great value---outstanding dining room. Only one negative comment. The hotel shuttle bus should explain that they only make one stop ---I landed up going back to the hotel with my luggage lying on the curb side as I thought they were going to stop at terminal 2

This is a great hotel, close to the airport, served by a free shuttle which runs on a schedule. We only had to wait about 10 minutes at the airport. It doesn't drop you off in front of the hotel but at a bus shelter about 100 metres away. The restaurant was closed when we arrived but we were directed to the bar which had the same menu as well as other […] a la carte items. Service and food were very good. The restaurant only has a breakfast buffet which is quite expensive. If you don't want a large breakfast you are better off getting something to eat at the airport. The shuttle schedule is posted on the front desk and it runs exactly on schedule. Since the isn't much else in the neighbourhood, if all you want is a very good overnight hotel, I would recommend it. Good choice when you are about to fly, and need to stay close to FRA

Breakfast costs, internet and parking rates appear to be excessive. Almost totals the cost of another room.

I had a stay overnight for a flight I needed to catch from Frankfurt the next morning, so we booked this hotel. The prices advertised at the hotel were double what I paid, and I paid too much - this is in no way an acceptable price for this hotel. It was late, however it was stated that the restaurant was still open, and after waiting about 10 minutes […] for someone to appear and seat us, we decided to return to our room to order room service. To be fair, the food we ordered was excellent (it better have been for how much the meal cost), however the service left a lot to be desired. The neighborhood is completely bereft of any alternate sources of food or drink, and the shuttle stop is away from the main area of the hotel. The interior of the hotel was charmless, run-down and the rooms were dingy, and while clean, did not offer any sort of pleasant stay experience. It felt like an overpriced La Quinta in all honesty. NOTE: the WiFi was NOT free, and the air conditioning in-room was completely inadequate. Location is great, transport from and to hotel is great, but if I ever have to stay near the airport in Frankfurt again (likely), this will not be my choice. There is absolutely no way in heaven or earth this hotel qualifies as a 4-star hotel. Try 2. Mehr

The hotel was very nice, but more geared for business travelers than for vacation travelers with a child. It felt snobby and that we were not welcome at the restaurant or to walk in the hotel, for fear our child would talk. Parking and food is very expensive, and since there is nothing in the surrounding area, there are no other options around. Also […] not ultra-close to the airport. Would not highly recommend. Mehr
