Alles Bestens!!!

"Old Chicago Inn, Noththalsted Chicago"
This Inn is a bed and breakfast style just 3-4 blocks from North Halstead and Belmont Avenue. Very close to the Belmond CTA stop, so a very convenient location. We were able to get in during Halsted Market Days with only a few days notice. For parking, we were given a residential parking voucher, which meant we had to find an on-street parking spot. […] We did find a spot, but it was five blocks away. Each day a new voucher must be affixed to the windshield. We were given a key to the front door. There is a no-unregistered-guest policy. A very basic continental breakfast each morning. The Room Temperature was on the chlly side -- at least not too hot. There is no thermostat in the room. Both of us received a $10 voucher for lunch at the adjoining bar and grill, with new vouchers available each day. Mehr
"Good location but mediocre in all other ways."
The Old Chicago is a great location for a game at Wrigley Field or a visit to DePaul University. As a B&B, it is not very impressive and it could use an upgrade. We stayed in room 2A which is above the street and was fairly noisy until 4:00am on a weeknight. Bed was comfortable but the shades do not come all the way down so there is always some light […] coming into the room. Not having to pay for parking on a nearby street was a nice feature. Mehr

"better than a traditional hotel!"
I stumbled upon this little bed and breakfast when i was finding it difficult to book a room at a "traditional" hotel. Hands down, best decision ever. The rooms can be a little small, but its got everything you need; including your own bathrobes! The private bathrooms aren't connected to your room, but they lock so you can store personal items in them […] - they even have a hairdryer. The building is a little older and doesn't have wireless internet throughout it, but there is an ethernet hookup in the lobby. The management is incredibly friendly and helpful. I also couldn't have asked for a better neighborhood. I wanted to stay somewhere that was easy to access (1 block walk from the train), and had local attractions (great food, incredible shopping, and the zoo!). Overall a great decision to stay here. "Convenient and Quirky"
Stayed here primarily for location,, as well as to check out an off-beat hotel vs. a big chain. The Old Chicago Inn was indeed convenient and quirky. Room was available early, which was a big help; staff was very helpful, and continental breakfast [coffee, tea, oj, milk, cake, yogurt, granola bars and cereal] was decent. Lobby was comfy with fireplace […] and reasonable wireless. Room 3e was small, with only one window, and little heat; bathroom was especially cold. WiFi was not usable in room. Mehr
"nothing good to say"
Room so small two people could hardly pass one by one another. Bed 4' of floor with a little unsteady footstool for getting up so high. This bed was shoved against the wall so one person had to get in first and then couldn't get out without the other getting out. Did I mention the toilet in the shower stall? I'm not kidding. IN THE SHOWER STALLDid I […] mention THE STENCH we smelled as soon as the door opened. I've stayed in a lot of places but this was the worst. One light on the ceiling.cold, no coat hooks or closet. Did I mention the STENCH? Mehr
"Old Chicago Inn Chicago"
The reason we chose the Old Chicago Inn was because it was close to our daughter's new apartment. That is also the only reason we would go back. The people who worked there and who were staying there were friendly and very nice, but our room wasn't any bigger than a large closet and in very hot weather the air conditioning was not cooling the 3rd floor, […] where our room was located. If we stay there again, I will ask many more questions about the specific room, as I understand none of them are the same. Mehr
"The Old Chicago Inn - fix the floors"
This hotel is an old building with lots of character. However they need to fix the floors. I stayed on the second floor and the floors squeeked with every step in the room and the hall way to the shared bathrooms. Everyone in the hotel knew everytime anyone on the second floor took a step.

"great place to stay"
Old Chicago Inn was a great place to stay. Virginia was very friendly on check in, and Jon was also great in the mornings. It is very close to Wrigley field, and the surrounding neighborhood has lots to do. (Bars, Places to eat, comedy clubs, etc.) We had a small room with a private bathroom. Everything was great. I thought it would be louder, but we […] didn't hear anyone the entire time we were there. I would fully recommend this place to anyone traveling to Wrigley for a game. I know we will be back! Mehr
"Wrigley Location"
Great for Wrigleyville - walk to most attractions.
"Great location"
Everyone was very nice and the location was great. The resturant next door that is co-owned was very good and the service was excellent. The room was very small and the bathroom was shared which we were not told about prior to walking in our room. If this is important you should confirm you get one of the few rooms with a private bath. Walking distance […] to Wrigley. Mehr

"Great place to stay for convenience and getting 'out of the city'"
I had read the reviews and was not dissappointed. The room I had was spacious, had satelite TV and wireless internet. Neighborhood had plenty of choices for meals and shopping. Half a block to catch the L to downtown. Free parking too. Owner was great and readily available.
"Great location for a quaint hotel in the city!"
Perfect location for local restaurants and shopping ... plus only a 10 minute walk to Wrigley Field for some Cubbies baseball. Stayed in the Wrigley Suite and room was in good condition for old building. Some electrical issues but staff was quick to respond. Would stay here again!

"Great Staff"
the hotel was very nice. The staff was great and very helpful. the rooms were very nice. the only problem is if your room is on the street side. It is VERY noisy. You hear all the street noise as if the windows are open. We were in room 3A very large but on street side. Will try again if in town but in a different room.

"Great place for the price"
We loved it here! Fantastic neighborhood with lots of restaurants and bars around. Some rather thin walls in the hotel, but if you are a pretty heavy sleeper, it's not a problem.
"Fabulous place for the price!"
We had a wonderful stay at the Old Chicago Inn. It is located in Lakeview, which is a VERY good place to stay. The Belmont station is right around the corner and you could buy your train passes at a nearby CVS. There were great restaurants, bars, and shops all around us, and downtown was only about 15 minutes down the red line! We felt very safe in […] the neighborhood and were sad to leave it. As for the hotel itself, we really enjoyed our room. The inn was built in 1903 as a 3-family apartment building, so naturally, the floors are a bit creaky. We stayed in room 2A, and when the room next to us was occupied, it could get a little noisy because there's just a door between the two rooms. Sometimes the street got a little noisy too (because we were there on St. Patrick's weekend), but both of us are heavy sleepers so it didn't bother us much. The innkeepers are great - we didn't see Virginia much because she was working a lot at Trader Todd's, her husband's restaurant. But John was there every morning, and he is fantastic to talk to - gives great directions and helps you plan out your day. The free parking was a definite plus, as most places charge you $20-$30 per night to park! And breakfast was included with our room, which generally consisted of some granola bars, muffins, pastries, juice, fruit, and coffee. But it was more than enough! I would absolutely recommend this place, and if we are in Chicago again, I know we'll stay there! Mehr
Te duur voor de algemene kwaliteit van het hotel. personeel heel vriendelijk.
