The Hilton Garden Inn Charlottesville met the needs of our family (2 adults, an eight year-old and an almost 3 year-old) admirably. Friendly, extremely helpful staff, lovely facilities (great jacuzzi and pleasant small pool! Nice pond with ducks and walking path; well-equipped workout room), mostly soundproof walls (save for one drunk guest with the […] TV turned full blast on Super Bowl Sunday) and a useful neighborhood (2 supermarkets, restaurants -- and closer than you think to downtown). Only downsides: one of the two beds in our room was a bit saggy (the other was less worn and more firm); also, the breakfast eggs and potatoes tended toward greasy. But there were plenty of other breakfast choices. This was a great stay. We'd gladly stay here again! Mehr

My husband and I stayed here while we toured Monticello. The room was very clean and made me feel like I was at home. However, our room was on the third floor. The room was very warm and stuffy. The air would turn on occasionally to keep the room at 68 degrees. This continued all night long. I woke up with a bad cold. In the morning, the air came on, […] turned back off, and we smelled a strong smell of burning. We quickly packed up and left the room and let the front desk know. The stay was wonderful though and this could have happened anywhere. I would highly recommend this hotel. Mehr

Bring your sneakers..there are lovely walking paths adjacent to property. Food in restaurant very good. Nice place

Good rates, close to Monticello and a major hospital, and overlooking scenic pond with swan pair and the Blue Ridge Mts. We got a room next to the elevator. We tried to move but there were no other rooms available. However we saw somebody check in after I complained, and he did not have a reservation and got the same room we got. What is up with this hotel policy.

This hotel is gorgeous. It was a lot more upscale than some other hotels we stayed at, but the price wasn't much higher. It's close to Montecello, which is why we stayed there. It isn't within walking distance, but it's not a far drive. The staff is very professional and friendly. I loved the breakfast -- well worth adding this ahead of time.

You get treated like a VIP as soon as you walk in the door. The staff is so friendly and quick to take care of you. We left some things in the room when we checked out and they sent them to us by UPS (after I called and spoke to housekeeping). Not centrally located but you aren't too far away from everything. Located right on the interstate though.

Needing a place to stay after visiting Charlottesville wineries, we booked the Garden Inn. Check-in and out was very easy, the breakfast buffet was reasonable, and we took advantage of the pool and hot tub in the morning. The room was not the largest ever, but for an over-night it was just fine - quiet, clean, comfortable. Only downside - the freezer […] didn't keep our ice cream frozen - oh well. Mehr

Great stay! The people were very nice and I loved the zip check out! All I had to do was call them from my room and keep on packing (things are busy when you have a baby). Highly reccommend.

I have to say this was a very nice hotel. I'm giving it high rankings based on the style and level of hotel this hotel is in. No this is not a 5 star hotel, but for what it is I was very happy with the staff and the hotel. I like that I can be on the Downtown Mall in 5 mins. I used to stay at the Omni, but the place is getting run down and many of […] the rooms smell of smoke. For the price it is not worth it. The curtains were off the rod, the curtain holders were on the floor, so obviously the entire room had not been vacuumed. The bed did not work - was a "numbers" type bed, and the adjustment never worked on either side of the king bed. My husband wanted hard and I wanted soft. In the morning we found that his side was softer and my side was harder. Also, […] there was no breakfast included. Beautiful area. Easy access to hotel. Large room. Not disappointed. Would stay here again. Did not use the pool or TV.

What a great hotel. We would definitely stay here again - comfortable room, great bed, good food - superb staff.

It's a nice place, but the food made in the restaurant is not very good. At the same time the atmosphere in the restaurant leaves allot to be desired. Brightly lit, and very cold and boring.
