Das Hotel liegt günstig im Financial-District von Providence. Direkt am Hotel verläuft der Independant-Trial (ein Stadtrundgang durch Providence, entlang der meisten Sehenswürdigkeiten; einfach der grünen Linie folgen). Sehr sauberes Zimmer. Personal freundlich. Gutes Frühstück. Parken durch Hotel kostet $25, im Parkhaus nebenan nur $20.

Das Seaport Inn & Marina liegt direkt am Hafen von Fairhaven. Service ist nett und freundlich, im Preis inkl. ist ein amerikanisches Frühstück. Zimmer sind zweckmäßig ausgestattet. Preis - Leistung OK. Fairhaven selbst hatte (unserer Meinung nach) nicht viel zu bieten und auch die Lage des Hotels könnte besser sein. Wir haben Fairhaven als Startpunkt für Tagesausflüge gewählt. Dafür ist es gut geeignet.

Well maintained, beautiful furnished and nice and friendly Innkeeper. The Inn is in a quiet and lovely neighbourhood, restaurants are around the corner, the harbor and town center are in walking distance. Perfect place to stay in Newport!
Lage
Marshall Slocum House liegt in Flughafennähe in Newport in der Nähe der folgenden Sehenswürdigkeiten: Touro Synagoge, International Tennis Hall of Fame und Naval War College Museum. Nicht weit entfernt befinden sich: Breakers und Fort Adams.

"Übernachten wie dazumal"
Originelles Übernachten in einem schön restaurierten Haus aus 1850. Der sympathische Besitzer macht einem persönlich das Frühstück (Auswahl aus 3 frischen Gerichten), lässt einen aber ansonsten gerne auch in Ruhe. Zum Hafen muss man 10-15 min gehen.

"Excellent option for couples visiting Newport"
Rooms are comfortable and the house is beautifully appointed. Mark's breakfasts are excellent: Healthy, delicious, and beautifully presented. Just ten minutes stroll into town makes this an excellent option for couples to enjoy Newport. "Marshall Slocum Classy Breakfast"
Breakfast at Marshall Slocum was very classy and very good. Would have enjoyed meat with the breakfast, but still very enjoyable. Individual air conditioner was quite noisy as it had to run most of the time. Very enjoyable stay.

"Marshall Slocum House - everything a B&B should be"
As a couple who stays primarily in B&Bs on vacation, we've got a pretty good perspective on them...and the Marshall Slocum House was a wonderful home base for our first trip to Newport. Lovely, elegant, wonderfully quiet and spotlessly clean, it's a pleasant retreat after the end of a long day visiting the summer "cottages" or rambling along Cliff […] Walk. And innkeeper Mark's breakfasts are super (his pancakes are the fluffiest I've ever eaten!), as was the talk around the table, and the friendliness of the other guests. We recommend The Marshall Slocum House, highly, and will stay there again on our next visit to Newport! Mehr
The Marshall Slocum was a lovely house, very pleased with room and house. But found owner to be very grumpy, arrogant and rude. Also breakfast was very disappointing to what I had read in reviews. A great house but pity about owners attitude.

"wonderful B & B close to all sights in Newport"
Three of us stayed in this gem for an overnight get away to Newport. The rooms were very comfortable and the host/chef/hotelier was excellent. We had a lovely breakfast and a very comfortable night's sleep. Beds were fabulous. You could walk to the many sights and leave your car safely parked in the lot. I will definitely go back again!

"Impressed"
The Inn was absolutely wonderful. It was adorable and quaint, just as an inn should be. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was well kept and cleanly, and the location was perfect just minutes from Thames Street and the Cliff Walk. The best part was the breakfast that was included. My boyfriend and I stayed at the Marshall Slocum Inn this past weekend. The owner Mark was friendly and allowed us to park our car and check in a few hours early. Our room, the Library Room, was clean and comfortable, exactly the type of New England room I was looking for. The location was about a 5-10 minute walk from the heart of town; was perfectly […] convenient to everywhere you would like to go. The staff was knowledgable - and Mark's warm breakfasts on the outdoor patio exceeded expectations!! I am wary of bed and breakfasts, and after a much research, I was very happy with my choice.
