Soho Hotel - Barcelona

Das Hotel Soho ist ein Designhotel, Zimmer sehr stylish und ausreichend geräumig, großes, bequemes Bett, Sauberkeit in Ordnung. Leider durch das Beleuchtungskonzept tagsüber und abends etwas dunkel (Jalousien lassen sich nicht ganz öffnen, Lichtquellen nicht sehr hell, Toilette sehr dunkel). Badezimmer ist "Glaskasten" im Raum, lässt sich durch Jalousien […] blickdicht schließen, Toilette separat und verschlossen (Leider lassen sich Türen nicht komplett schließen, daher etwas hellhörig). Leider kam ab und an ein etwas unangenehmer "Gulli"-Geruch aus dem Abfluss in das Zimmer gewabert, aber da kann das Hotel nicht unbedingt was für. Mitarbeiter sehr freundlich, nach Auschecken konnten wir unsere Koffer in einem abgeschlossenen Raum aufbewahren. Frühstück haben wir nicht in Anspruch genommen, aber es gibt ein paar Cafés in der Nähe. Zum Plaza Catalunya ca. 10 Minuten Fußweg, also nicht 100% zentral, aber annehmbar. Zimmer zur Straßenseite nicht ganz ruhig, für uns aber okay. Alles in allem kann ich das Hotel Soho empfehlen, würde vielleicht beim nächsten Mal aber auch eins der Schwesterhotels ausprobieren, die z.T. ein wenig zentraler liegen :-) Mehr

Ein schönes Wochenende. Das Design der Zimmer ist sehr ansprechend. Lobby ist ein bisschen enttäuschend, dafür ist der Service spitze. Die Jungs da sind sehr Hilfsbereit und können alles organisieren! Jederzeit gerne wieder!

Hotel war in Ordnung. Frühstück haben wir einmal ausprobiert - war in Ordnung aber für den Preis etwas wenig auswahl. Dafür befindet sich gegenüber eine super Bäckerei und Schokothek - mit lecker Croissants und anderen Frühstückswünschen. Was uns gefehlt hat war die möglichkeit am Abend noch auf einen netten Drink in der Hotelbar zu gehen - da es keine […] gibt. Hotel liegt central an der Metro Linie 3 (Urgell), zu Fuss ist man in 10-20 Min an der Rambla. Hatte ohne Frühstück gebucht, es gibt aber genügend kleine Cafes in der Nähe. Stylisch eingerichtetes Hotel, mit sehr freundlichem und hilfsbereitem Personal. Gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Ein bischen ausserhalb des Zentrums um Las Ramblas gelegen, was uns überhaupt nicht gestört hat. U-Bahn und Aerobus halten wirklich fast vor dem Hoteleingang. Jederzeit gerne wieder!

Hatten ein Zimmer zum Innenhof - bis auf eine Nacht war es okay, einmal eher laut. Strassenseitig daher wohl eher nicht zu empfehlen. Zimmer war sauber, Service sehr gut, Personal hilfsbereit und freundlich, Lage etwas außerhalb, aber alles gut erreichbar. Stay Thursday - Sunday on business and pleasure bringing my wife. SOHO located perfectly for a combo as we both were in the middle of both agendas, perfectly located for biz meetings and sight seeing. Minus was no roomservice before 11. But absolutely reccommended!

We had the perfect stay at this hotel during our 3 day stay in Barcelona. The hotel is centrally located within walking distance of Plaza de Catalunya and Las Ramblas. There is a metro station almost in front of the hotel that conects with the major metro stops. This ia very modern hotel ideal for couples, friends or business. Not a kid oriented or […] friendly hotel due to the decor and areas. The rooms are very modern and spacious with automatic dimming lights, glass integrated curtains, flat tv, and stainless steel entry doors. Wifi is free and accessible throughout the hotel but there are areas were the signal is poor. Staff is very friendly and willing to help in all matters. I would definitely stay here again. Mehr

We spent 2 nights at the hotel and the service was impeccable. The multilingual (including English) staff is very helpful and accommodating. Will definitely stay there again if go back to Barcelona.

Very modern and confortable hotel, Safe zone and excelent price

I think I read on Trip Advisor about the bathroom/toilet doors not closing properly by design. That's true, at least in the room we stayed in, and might be embarrassing for some people. Staff were friendly and helpful. Hotel was clean. The toilet is dark, painted dark colors and dim lights...I don't like that very much. Bath was great and shower pressure […] was amazing. At least one of the days the sheets weren't changed but the bed was made up...I don't mind that. Location is pretty good about a 10 minute walk to La Rambla. Mehr

Good location. Very modern looking hotel. Close to metro and bus stops. Close to restaurants and a couple of small grocery stores. Comfortable beds. Friendly staff. Very helpful. Would definitely stay again. Tip: Take the Aerobus from the airport. This is a very efficient service. It takes 20-30 minutes. The price is 5.30 Euro or you can get a roundtrip […] ticket if you are staying less than 9 days for a discounted price. The bus stops at Gran Via & Urgell Street, which is very close to the hotel. This is much easier than lugging your suitcase on the metro. Mehr

The hotel is located within a short 4 to 5 block walk to main shopping areas and center of city. Breafast was a little pricy and lack of cocktail bar and gym were definitely negatives. Also need to login to WiFi every ten minutes or so bothersome. Staff were always very helpful with any questions and directions

Staff were friendly, Hotel is right beside metro station and easy walking to ramblas and gothic quarter great stay highly recommended!

We were two couples on a city break and found this hotel to be ideal. The rooms were spacious and clean. The location was good, between 2 metro stations and a 10 to 15 minute walk to The Ramblas. We didn't have breakfast in the hotel but there were plenty of places to get a coffee and pastry. The rooftop pool isn't big enough to swim in but the terrace […] was a nice place to relax. Nice, very modern Hotel close to La Rambla Museums and and monuments. We willuse it again

This hotel is self-consciously funky, almost too much as you have to be quite savvy with electricals to get the blinds, windows etc working. The staff are helpful and bi-lingual and wiling to help you out with directions to the main sights, there is a Metro stop right outside which is also handy. The room is spacious although the double bed is two twin […] beds pushed together. A safe built into the wall helps with peace of mind. The media centre with two computers open to use was helpful although their "library" is a collection of a handful of books. The swimming pool is more for dipping feet than actually swimming too. Lastly, our rooms had lights built underneath the windows which were not allowed to turn off and the blinds did not cover so we had to cover them up with blankets which wasn't ideal. Mehr

Found this hotel after an extensive search. Location was good only a couple of blocks from the Ramblas. Hotel deal didn't include breakfast but with Escriba and l'aromatica you can easily get good coffee, toast and pastries. The hotel has been well designed. The rooms are a good size and the bathrooms nice with good showers. The roof top pool area is […] lovely and we enjoyed coming back about 4pm most days and sitting out in the sun reading and cooling off in the pool. The pool is for cooling off as the design is such that you wouldn't be looking at swimming lengths! The whole hotel and staff were very pleasing. I have stayed in many 5 star hotels that have not been this nice. They run with only a few staff and with not offering hundreds of different services and a restaurant they have managed to keep their room rate down. There is no shortage of good restaurants in Barcelona so this should not be a problem. Mehr

Stayed here for 5 nights in Sept 2011. Hotel itself was in a great location, rooms were stunning, very clean hotel, staff very helpful and friendly. Only 2 downsides: you had to continually log in to the wifi every few minutes which was inconvenient. Secondly, 14 EUR for breakfast was pretty steep even for central Barcelona.

I found the hotel very modern, the staff were amazing the receptionests could not do enough for us. Well located and really enjoyed the stay. Litlle negative - pool small (terrace area nice though) and pity no bar /relaxing area. Would recommend hotel

Nice hotel, close walk to all main attractions. Front desk was super helpful with recommending places to eat and things to see. Would stay at this hotel again next time in Barcelona. Much better than or 5 star stay the week later.

Cab rides in Barcelona start around 6 euros one-way, so getting to places like the beach, and Sagrada Familia can be expensive. But I also stayed at Barcelona House in Las Ramblas (middle of everything), and it was crazy and loud until 4am every night. This hotel was beautiful, not much of a pool (tho I didn't come for that), and clean. I love the […] lights, unfortunately all the outlets except the bathroom turn off when you take out the card. Nice neighborhood (although my buddy got his iphone stolen by a homeless person walking up to our table outside). Mehr

Soho Hotel was truely a great hotel to stay at in Barcelona. The staff were incredibly helpful and recommended many places and restaurants which were all great. The rooms are extremely comfortable. Honest service, well located, friendly service. The room was comfortable and quite fancy. Was not dirtly, but could be cleaner, especially in the bathroom, which could also be better illuminated.

We stayed at the The SOHO hotel for 3 nights at the begging of May. It is a very modern hotel in a great location a few minutes walk from the placa catalunya which is the start of las ramblas. There is an underground station 'Urgell' right outside the hotel entrance which was really convenient for getting around the city without wasting much time. The […] rooms were cleaned everyday and the staff were very friendly and helpful and all spoke excellent english. The room had a flat screen TV with english speaking channels such as BBC news 24 and Fox, the wi-fi at the hotel was free of charge and worked perfectly! The roof top terrace and pool was well maintained although the pool was a little cold and not heated but it was only the begginning of May so later in the summer the pool would probably be warmer. If I go to barcelona agian I would definately stay at the SOHO hotel!!! Mehr

The hotel was OK but not more. Lacking air and light- everything felt very dark and suffucating. Benn to better hotel in Barcelona

Hotel rooms were pretty luxurious and funky with the much-vaunted Vegas-style bedside lighting and window blind controls. Bed was large and comfortable; bathroom was decent with full sized bath, good shower and clear glass wall looking onto the bedroom. In terms of the room, pretty much all good. The other plus point is the roof deck with swimming pool […] although weather was a little cool for this during our visit. A heated pool or hot tub would have been much better. Where this hotel falls well short is firstly the location. It wasn't that well situated for the cool parts of town (although the Metro is just 30 seconds walk away). The hotel breakfast and room service offering was pretty basic and there were no decent places (not even stores) to find food close to the hotel. The hotel also backs onto a busy public park & playground which makes it pretty noisy if you're trying to have a relaxing lie in in the morning. The worst point, however, was the surly service. Even the most simple request was met with a stunned look from the desk clerk. For a change of bed linen read a live tiger doing the Can-can and reciting the works of Goethe. The warning signs were there even upon our arrival. Having emailed ahead to request an early check-in we were told this wouldn't be possible. We arrived at the hotel just after 1pm for a 2pm check-in and were told that our room wouldn't be ready until the official check-in time. We then checked our bags to head out to lunch and were suddenly informed that our room was ready. Not a big inconvenience in the scheme of things but it would have been pretty easy to check on progress and tell us that it would only be a few minutes wait. If you only want a funky hotel room then keep this place in mind. If you want service and location as well as a good room then do your research - there are many better options out there. Mehr

Friendly, helpful staff, quality hotel, nice breakfast, near bus/metro, only a few streets from la ramblas, free internet access in lounge. Only negative was the (slight) traffic noise at night in the front room we got. Overall very good.

I ve been very surprised by the inside design of the hotel which super great! My stay in the hotel has been a very good surprise and the hotel, as well as the city has been super great!

Our stay at the hotel was a wonderful experience. The hotel was clean neat and the staff was very helpful. The location was in good proximity to the major sites we wanted to see in Barcelona. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

It gave you a very modern and stylish feeling when staying at Soho Hotel. More importantly, the cleanliness of the hotel room impressed us a lot! Front desk staff were very friendly and helpful Went out of their way to help with mailing a package. Made great suggestions for things to do during Spain's National Strike.

We chose this hotel after spending 5 hours on tripadvisor, not cheap but good value for money (eg Camper Barcelona just opposite it is much pricier). Location is quite central, though still a 15-20 min walk to the main attractions. Room was very hi tech, though could do with better light (especially toilets!) + we never could figure out how to open […] side window automatic blinds. Tried breakfast once, it was very nice, there is also Starbucks 10min walk from the hotel where breakfast is 3x cheaper :) Nice restaurants around. Main train station a 30min walk away. Area felt very safe. Huge thanks to an Italian guy at the reception (forgot his name), he was the MOST helpful of all and he was so kind. Other receptionists were nice but not that proactive with information/ advice. The only suggestion to the hotel we have is opening hours of the rooftop terrace - it closes at 9pm which is such a pity! We were always at a hotel after 10pm and tho felt like sitting up at the terrace, it was closed :( Everything else was fine, I enjoyed the room facing the busy street, especially when Spain won World Cup! Oh and amazingly mini bar and laundry service were very affordable, unlike my experience with other hotels. Gracias Soho hotel, we will definitely consider you again next time we are in Barcelona. Within walking distance to many of the sights. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and a nice size. The rooftop was very nice with a pool and lounging area for reading and socializing. The business center downstairs has free internet access. Would gladly recommend the SoHo.
