21C is defines art in hotel service, and style. It is a true experience, located in downtown Louisville, KY. I was there for business and will make it a point to return. Beautiful city.

Night at the Art Museum. Fun, playful, outrageous, over the top, knock your socks off Hotel... modern 4 star quality rooms and amenities in a place that will make you laugh, play and want to come back!!

I love this hotel and it is my go-to place for a weekend away with the hubby! But it would not be a good choice for those who have small children despite its proximity to the downtown museums.

This hotel is an experience. It's modern, comfortable and very friendly. It is a must for anyone traveling to Louisville or even for Louisvillians who want a special night away from home.

I had high hopes for 21c, but looking back on my recent stay there, I was a little let down by the experience. Dinner (at an alternate location) was nice and the drinks at Proof were great, but for the price to stay at 21c, I was not "wowed." Having been to Proof and walked around the gallery before, I knew what to expect from the atmosphere, but the […] overnight stay was not worth the price of admission. Additionally, I requested a room with a King and instead I got two double beds with an atrium view. Mehr

Front desk is very lippy on the phone but rather friendly in person - go figure. Still so much attitude isn't necessary. I would have cancelled and rebooked had there been time. Definitely not worth what I paid for the room and will not be staying here again.

This is a very unique hotel and I'd recommend paying the extra money to experience the interesting art collection and design of the building. It's also located in a nice, quiet area of downtown - seemingly close to civic centers and key office buildings. Unfortunately, one big disappointment was the room service food. I'd eaten at the restaurant, […] Proof, one time before and had found the food on the decent to very good side. I was shocked to find the room service food and presentation VERY sub par. Mehr

Fabulous innovative museum of 21st century art, with terrific rooms and great restaurant.

We recently stayed at this hotel on our way home with vacation--we had our five year old twins in toe. We ALL loved this hotel. The art museum was so wonderful in the lobby--will stay here again for sure. The rooms were also tasteful, modern, and clean. LOVED everything about it.

For all the raving I had heard about 21c I expected a lot more than what it offered. For sure, the lobby and artwork throughout the hotel was interesting, but dont expect much from your room. I stayed in a double, the beds were uncomfortable, we looked out at an "atrium" or a brick wall which is what it should have been called and the bath was very […] tiny w almost no counterspace. For a night it was okay, but i wiuld not return other than to dine at Proof which was good. Mehr

What an awesome place!! We saved to be able to stay there and it was worth the money! The staff is great too!!

The hotel is funky, contemporary art everywhere. The room was large, great bed. Loaded I pod (although the Romantic playlist was all country!). Super friendly bar staff. Breakfast in the room was fantastic. Riding their bikes along the river was great fun

What a fantastic experience! This is probably the coolest and most interesting hotel I stayed in so far. The hotel staff is friendly and helpful, the restaurant and bar are great, the art is cool. If you find yourself in Louisville, splurge a little and stay at 21c. Even if you care nothing for modern art (which is located primarily in the lobby), you should treat yourself to this affordable luxury. For the cost of a room at one of the major hotel chains, you can get a room at 21c with luxuries that the chains will make you pay extra for (e.g., […] turn down service with chocolates, 2 bathrobes) or that simply is available at no other hotel (a pre-loaded iPod plugged into the clock radio with music playing on shuffle when you arrive). Proof, the hotel restaurant, is a great restaurant that is priced consistently with the other restaurants on Main Street. All in all, I would stay there again, and it is one of few hotels that I recommend to my friends (whether they ask for it or not!). Mehr

My husband and I decided to treat ourselves to a weekend at 21c and Proof on Main. 21c is a museum/hotel. We really didn't get to enjoy the museum as much because there was a wedding going on. We stayed in a room with a small window looking out onto a parking garage. I was disappointed in how small and drab the room was. Had there been art behind the […] bed instead of just a plain cork board it may have helped. Though the iPod was outdated, we did enjoy the selection of songs. The bed was nice and comfortable as were the towels. It was also nice that we came back to our linens turned down along with chocolate. The bathroom was just okay. It was awkward trying to get ready. The makeup mirror was set at a strange angle above the toilet. All in all, I would not stay here again. I do know they have suites and rooms with balconies that may have been nicer. I would recommend friends to visit the museum but not stay in the room. We did enjoy Proof on Main. If I could do it over again, I would eat at Proof and stay elsewhere. Mehr

Though we had some trouble getting close enough to the hotel to turn the car over to valet parking and the check-in desk was a bit of a madhouse, it did not end up detracting at all from our stay. I would recommend to the hotel that they choose another shift change time so that there are enough staff members on hand to take care of the number of cars […] waiting for valet parking. Aside from that, the hotel was amazing. We loved all of the little touches and spent quite a while strolling through the galleries with beautiful and thought-provoking artwork. The rooms were spacious and beautifully appointed--luxurious without sacrificing a trending feel. We loved the bed and didn't want to leave it the next morning for anything. We will definitely stay again, though we might choose to arrive a little later than the posted check-in time so as not to suffer the madhouse that we found on our past trip. Mehr

Suite 1 is downstairs, with no outside window but a window overlooking an art exhibit. The room itself is wonderful, big, stylish and comfortable. The problem is the art exhibit makes noise ALL NIGHT LONG. When it woke me up at 2:45 I called the front desk. They said they could not turn it off, and offered me another room or a white noise machine. I […] did ultimately go back to sleep, but when people started rolling luggage and large work carts up and down the concrete floor at 8am, I was awake for good. Cannot say enough great things about this hotel - we stayed there for our 25th anniversary. Loved the art - one of the best contemporary collections we have seen anywhere from London to Istanbul. The bed was fabulously comfortable and the minibar was stocked with treats. The downstairs restaurant is not to be missed - had a memorable lobster bisque […] for lunch. Mehr

If you love all types of art, this is the place for you! Conveniently located in downtown Louisville and within walking distance to many tourist attractions.

It is a very friendly and helpful atmosphere from the doorman and valet to the rest of the staff. Very chic rooms, but watch out for penguins! Great art and restaurant and many attractions and things to do in the area, and the front desk is more than willing to answer any questions you may have.

Positives- loved the art, the room, and the restaurant Negative - a huge one at that - the front desk person upon requesting for a late check out...instead of politely saying it's not available, we were rudely blasted with "here's what your answer is - it's no late check-out." Such a shame to end on a negative note and just for that type of treatment […] we won't be visiting or recommending this hotel. Too bad because Louisville had charm just not here. Mehr

This wasn't a hotel it was an experience! The rooms were comfortable, staff was friendly and the artwork in the museum downstairs was incredible. There were nice touches and artwork everywhere throughout the hotel. We ate at the hotel restaurant, Proof on Main and I must say that it could truly have been the best meal I ever had (try the swordfish). […] For the price it simply doesn't get any better. Mehr

Me and my wife took a long road trip and spent one day in louieville, so when I saw this hotel It was a bit pricey but I took a chance. Best hotel on my entire trip. first class all the way. Especially if you love art. The lobby is a contemporary art museum, a block from the fraizer museum and even had an art channel on my tv. beautiful contemporary […] rooms very large, The food is a bit pricey so we ate a few blocks down in a very nice cafe. The hotel, and the desk staff, are excellent. We had a poor experience with a very scattered server in the restaurant at breakfast. Food was very good, but the server needs a new career choice. When toast is served warm, but unbuttered, the butter should be served while the toast is still warm, yes? Grits were delicious.

I travel around a lot and stay at many hotels. This boutique hotel by far gets my stamp of approval as one of the best!
